FRIENDS DIVERSITY

Long straight hair, peace signs, hip- huggers,

Burn incense, read cards, good Karma to others,

Blacklights, posters, psychedelic candles burning,

Writing my thoughts, listening, always learning,

Strange to some, I don't mind, it's not wrong,

Listening to music, dancing, a classic rock song,

What I'm getting to friends is I'm a hippie you see,

I won't ever change, can you learn to except me,

You are my friends, different, ok, I have trust,

My friends I adore you, I won't do you unjust.

I'm  glad to be friends with people of all diversity,

I love my friends, no matter how different then me.

                        FANTASTIC DAYDREAM

I'm all alone, yes, just me, with  my fantastic daydream,

Colored with orange, cascading light, imaginary moonbeam,

Unicorns dancing, rainbows, fairy dust scattered around,

Sweet sounds fill the room, kittens purr, a merry go round,

Love, tender hugs fill the air, friends  from my past,

Happy, laughing, I know what you think, am I crazy you ask,

Let me be, I'm content, soon this daydream will pass.

For now I'm Alice, trapped in this great looking glass.

                  LONGING FOR PEACE

What is to become of our lives as we know,

There are many time bombs ready to blow,

Wars and famine, hate, blood and tears,

We've had many chances for years and years,

Stop all the hate, the war and the greed,

It's for the best, it's what we all need,

Can't we try to just love one another,

I'm all for it, my sisters and brothers.

                     DECEPTION

Deception hurts and pierces my heart,

A friend  kept dear from the very start,

We shared laughter grief and fears,

Now my friend, I have shed some tears,

You made me think you cared for me,

You decieved me, must be our destiny,

I did nothing but loved and cared,

I'll miss those moments that we shared,

You must be hurting, I am, I know,

I'm deeply hurt, you decided to go,

Have fun, have peace, feel free,

                       GIVE ME SHELTER

Give me shelter, don't read me the news,

I'm fine not knowing, who wants the blues,

I keep things tight in my own  little box,

I cringe and shiver when anyone knocks,

I've seen it all throughout the years,

Lord knows I've cried my share of tears,

Give me shelter, I'm tired, I'm weak,

                            SWEET MEMORIES

Newborn babe, warm soft and sweet,

There hasn't  been a better treat,

I looked at you, my eyes all  teary,

I held you close, at peace, but weary,

Counting your fingers, every  toe,

 My body tired, my heart aglow,

A euphoric place, let's never leave,

Sweet little babe, just  you and me,

Your all grown up now, a handsome man,

It's alright my son, it was always God's plan.

                           SISTER

Sisters, they must be a gift from Jesus.. 

There to comfort, love and tease us,

Borrow clothes, advice and makeup,

Cry together, over  teenage breakups,

We grow up, get married, drift apart,

Still she's always close, she's in my heart,

A bond that's tight, no one can break,

She's forever my sister, for heavens sake.

                              ODE TO MY MOTHER

My Mother I miss you, God took you too soon,

I look for your face in the stars and the moon,

I feel your presence when I'm sad and alone,

I wish you could see me, happy and grown,

I have a family now, I hope you can see,

I'll always remember our talks, you and me,

I miss you my Mother, in heaven you wait,

We'll be together someday, at Gods pearly gate.

                       A SONG IN MY HEART

A  song in my heart, it won't go away..

I hear it's melody, urging my body to sway,

I feel the passion. it burns in  my soul,

I'm coming alive as I hear the drums roll,

Music and lyrics, the sounds so intense,

Remind me of love, candles and incense,

Take me away to the depths of my soul,

Peace on earth.. is the message, the goal.
