WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME!

I am grumpy, worn out, frazzled, short tempered and meaner than a snake today! (I know KK, how would one know the difference) lolol

KK aka KeenKat has been declared an EON HERO this week! I can’t say anything nice about her cause I done used it up earlier in the year. Way to go, MY BRAT! I am so proud of you! Hugs

It’s 102 degrees in the shade up here on the mountain. Yup, 102! I hate to mention this, but I’ve
decided I am way too old to go out in this heat to play in the sand box. My mind is going at mach speed right now… dig a hole here…put that plant there.. put rocks around this…put down weed
control mesh.

Not only is the weather bad, heat wise, we have these problems with the storm gods romping thru the mountains in the afternoons. Anna was in greater downtown Booneville earlier today. Said a vicious lightning storm came thru.. and they had torrential rains. We didn’t get a drop out here. No nothing except heat and humids…I went out yesterday (or was it the day before) to talk to the
Mail man when he pulled into the driveway to turn around and go back down the mountain.

Well, I was out there at most 5 to 10 mins and started to black out. Guess who said goodbye to the
Mail man and scooted back into the house? Critters didn’t like it out there either…

I’ve spent a lot of time the last several days making phone calls and attempting to contact people
Re the ban on sending cigs to our guys and gals. We all know I smoke… but I am neither condoning, aiding nor abetting smokers. It is our right to smoke or not as we choose.

My complaint is referring to our rights as citizens. It is not illegal to smoke. It is not illegal to drink within reason. (remember the problems with prohibition?) Anyway, there is no elected official who has
the right to tell me yea or nay. They might try but down here in the mountains, that dog don’t hunt! And
they certainly don’t have the right to punish ours…Even if it falls under the law of unintended results.

So, now that I’ve spoken my piece, contacted all who might make a difference, and generally made a
Pest of myself, I’ll lay back for a little while. I’m waiting for responses.

By the way, I have found a net location which gives a lot of info about Fort Campbell… Look under
Topix.com. This site will also daily send you updated info on your chosen location.

Not my usual charming (note the snake message above) self but I’m working on it. Lolol

Oh, Rob, the telephone guy, was out here yesterday? I think it was yesterday…lolol that poor man.
There’s a slew of us females out here who are having trouble with the telephones. They cut out and you
either get dead silence for a few seconds or you get cut off entirely…” if you wish to make a call” It’s
maddening but I do have to laff… You want to upset a female, cut her off in mid sentence! Truth, so
help me! I do not recommend it! Lololol

Anyway, the telephone guys are working on the problems… Or, they’d better be… lolol Fair warning!
Lolol I’m joking, thems is good people… all of them…

A big thanks to SherriAnne for heading me in the right direction for the correct id of the above flower.
It’s a wild wisteria vine. I had to laff… In her area this is an invasive weed, along with the mimosa. Here on the mountain side, it’s a plus… lolol Thanx again, brat.

Barometer still dropping and I hear thunder rumbling… I am outa here for now.

Take care all of mine…go in safety always. Remember to think of ours who are not receiving any
Packages from home.

Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter when you can… meems

The above is the best I can do on this puter. This is the entire article as published in the Lexington Herald Leader two days ago. (I hope it comes over)

I’ve spent a lot of time on the phone already today and I ain’t done yet. I am still thoroughly angry at the stupidity and lack of reading abilities of our politicians.. Short of genetically modifying the POLs , we’ll just need to keep up the good fight!

I am still throwing a fit!

Well kids... We all know that I am not politically inclined but I do observe. And sometimes I have a very long memory... If I am not mistaken, our poli's passed a law outlawing booze/alcohol. It in general, it was referred to as 'prohibition.' (please detect a note of sarcasm here) Lots of people got rich but the law was finally repealed of necessity.

The Weed/Grass/ whatever you call it, will be legalized within ten years... you just watch.

Yes, I smoke... However, I am a polite smoker. If I have guests, I ask if it will bother them if I smoke (in my own home) If they say yes, then I don't smoke in the house. I've stood on the back porch in all kinds of weather to have a cig.

Now, back to the basic issue here... DO NOT EVER tell me I can't smoke... that I CANNOT have weapons...That I CANNOT send packages to my brats where ever they might be. That I CANNOT send cigs or goodies or snacks or packets of cider mix or or or...

Our kids are being considered and treated like collateral damage (in other words... 'so what, another youngster will step up) Ours are being punished because a poli cannot read nor understand what has been written (did any one except the writer read the proposed law) Can poli's read? Can they grasp the enormity of the fall out on those defending us:?

I agree with you Gary... about the lawyers... let me add that a basic requirement to serve in office should be the ability to read and have a high score in comprehension…

Another thing… Sometime at the end of this month, Fort Campbell will be holding a celebration honoring our Vietnam Vets… I’m trying to get all the particulars for anyone who might be interested in attending. Will post an update as soon as I can…

Guess that’s it for the time being… Not my usual charming self, I know but this is one situation that’s gonna take some time .

Take care all of mine… go in safety always. Remember… life is not fair but Dammit, we can try to make it that way!

Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter… meems

Law snuffs out mailing smokes to deployed troops
By KRISTIN M. HALL

Family and friends have suddenly found themselves blocked from shipping cigarettes and other tobacco products to American troops in Afghanistan and Iraq because of a new law meant to hamper smuggling and underage sales through the mail.
The Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking Act of 2009 quietly took effect June 29. It cut off those care packages by effectively requiring that tobacco be sent with one particular kind of U.S. Postal Service shipping that requires a signature for delivery but does not deliver to most overseas military addresses.

April Woods, the 26-year-old wife of a Fort Campbell soldier in Afghanistan, used to regularly send him packages of snacks, drink mixes, pictures and cartons of his favorite variety of Marlboros.

Suggestions:
Write to your Congressmen for your state... If you see a report in the newspaper, write a short letter to the editor. Talk to your neighbors, they might have missed the articles... This one effects KY... also note that the lawmakers here are considering removing the ban on smoking for bars.

I suggested in my written response to the news article Lexington Herald Leader that the lawmakers be put on the front lines, down range, in the most dangerous locations on this earth. Wonder if they would want a smoke, snack or a drink?

Can you guys tell I am SOOOOOO angry and that I have had enuf? hugs and love all meems

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!

It’s not like I don’t have enuf critter problems up here on the mountain side. I now have warnings appearing in the KY news of herds of wild hogs running around the territory. Bears and pumas and hogs… Oh my!

Trust me, I’d a thousand times have bears and other critters running around up here than wild hogs. These critters are believed to be descendants of the original farm hogs which were released to feed in the wild many many moons ago. Do I have them in the area? Oh yeah! The dogs brought a skull home last month… and I do have it hanging in the mimosa out back to let it weather out.

or view link

I want a pizza! All meat, extra cheese, shrooms and onions! That’s one of the few things I miss about living in the city… They don’t deliver here in the mountains. And it is way too hot to travel today. 94 deg in the shade… Was 104 in the sun when I rolled out at 1300. This has been a miserable summer for me. Oh well, this too will pass.

And so will the doggy fur fall out. I have to tell you all that I got
Several suggestions as to what I should do with the dog hair. Some really good ideas:
Comb fur, roll between hands, make balls of yarn to crochet
Or knit. I did a small amount and crocheted a few rows. It works. If hair belongs to strange dog… microwave first.

Use matted dog fur as mulch to keep weeds down around plants. This one sounds good to me… Mix in cigar filters for loosening clay soil also works… keeps insects at bay too.

OK, so now I have a doggy sing-song going in the hall. Sheesh! They crack me up… lolol Also deafen me! All six are in the house. They have spent the whole summer inside and I do feel sorry for all those poor critters who don’t have any shelter in this weather.

Hey I have a question here… if somebody could help me identify this plant… is a vine…has ovate leaves and clusters of flowers which look like or are similar to sweet peas. The colors are different tho… almost a coppery bronze mixture on each flower.

or view link

Took this photo in direct sun… will try again after the sun is lower in the sky. I swear I cannot see anything on the cam when the light
is that bright outside. Does anybody else have this problem?

Today seems to be a grumpy day for me…I’m having all kinds of problems with my MSWord. I seem to have done sumfin and can’t figure out how to undo it! I still have a May 2010 News letter reappearing everytime I open Word. Lolol I’ve erased this darned thing every day… many times every day! Nothing works… lolol
Where’s the vanilla!

A BIG good news… One of my rotten Brats out there has gone thru a lot of treatments and has come up clear on the latest tests!
Way to go, mine! This mean lil old lady threatened all kinds of bad treatment and abuse if he didn’t straighten up! Gotcha My Brat!
Hugs and love to you and yours… Oh, btw, the threat still holds!

Guess that’s if for the time being… More art work to take care of.

Take care all of mine…go in safety always. Remember… if kindness doesn’t work, threats might! Now I have the giggles!

Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter meems

Sunday Edition

2010*8*8

Welcome home Dear Hearts, welcome home.

Get your buns in here and be ta home.  At least it’s cool in here.  I checked the thermo when I got up… How bout 102 on the sunny side.  Back porch said 92 deg.  Sheesh, I have all this work to do outside and cannot get to it!  The 90 gal pond form is sitting in the shade.  Needs to be installed. (read hole dug to shape and depth) Well, ratz!  Have you noticed complaining doesn’t change a thing!?!

OK, so I am stuck inside.  I’ve varnished paintings… framed some… put the hanger thingies on the back.. ready to go.  I also jammed a stretched canvas into the frame only to have the frame come apart!  (Yes, I know better but I did it anyway.. sheer frustration took over.  Bad Paula)

I’ve primed.. gilded…hammered… glued…primed in between other jobs.  How bout I started raking the carpet in the bedroom… working my way toward the hall?  Fussing and cussing all the way.   I HATE housework!

I have enuf dog underfur to cover two mediums sized dogs… Do hairless dogs wear toupees?  I might have a new business to start.  SherriAnne says I should develop a line of Granny Grunge outfits…that I’d make a fortune.  People love their pets… why not? Hairless dogs and Granny Grunge?  What do ya think, Sherri?

I changed the filter in the a/c furnace unit… had another whole dog in there too.  Just think… dog fur is self renewing… Multi tasking will come in handy if I survive the critters.

Have I mentioned that I wake up with bruises all over me?  No, it’s not my meds… It’s the critters!  Yup yup it is!

The other nite, I was sound asleep and something attacked my feet… little needles?

Now, you can beat me, tickle me, bruise, lame and maim me but ya don’t mess with my feet!  Don’t know why that is, but I can’t stand it… Feet attacks are sheer torture to me!

Attack cat, mamma Delilah, was under the covers and decided to play with my feet… OMG!  I think I cleared the bed in a nano-second… Took covers and all with me but I made sure my feet were safe.  Lolol  Then I got tickled… It’s amazing what you can forget when enuf time passes…

Five years or more since I’ve had a house cat… Paw prints on the palette, bird feathers in the kitchen and now the living room.  Clean toilet paper in the toilet of all places…a bar of soap on the floor?  (is this a hint?) And finally the GREAT FEETS ATTACKS!  I think I am in trouble!

Another thing that causes bruises is an attack..doggy style!  The last two mornings, I have been awakened by at least 4 critters playing doggy gotcha tennis.  My poor ol body appears to be the net barricade.  I’ve had little ones tap dancing on my bladder (This will get your attention right away)  I roll over on my side and the gotchas continue… sometimes 3 against one – Spud against the Wrecking Crew and the Unmade Bed.  Then sometimes Spud and Pyggs against the world… or http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/218756-Wrecking-Crew

Pyggmalion and Ophelia

or http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/357261-The-Horlette

The Lilyputz aka the Unmade Bed aka the Horlette… She’ll flop on her back for anyone who will scratch her belly…lolol

The Newbie tried to join the play but Spud decided that was a no-no and growled.  Didn’t matter, I was still giggling.  Lolol  Viva manage to get past the barricade but she didn’t stay long… too rowdy for her!  Smart dog!

Oh gee… I have so much more… The Secret Admirer has been at it again!  A doggy water bowl thingy.  Kinda neat and I did receive permission to use it myself should I choose.  Holds a half gallon of water.  I would use it but it is so hard for me to get that close to the drinking bowl.  Also, I have real problems trying to get off the floor nowadays.  Lolol To my SA… thank you, I think!  or http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/762191-Water-Bottle-from-a-secret-admirer

Sheesh, the puter has slowed down to almost nothing!  Frustrating to say the least.  I ain’t done yet, but I best quit before I run out of room.

Take care all of mine; go in safety always. Remember that joy is where you find it if you look hard enuf.

Many hugs, much love and lots of laffter… the antique fruitcake meems

HEADS UP! A NEW MILITARY ADDY

view link

Now, an explanation about the above NEW INDEX! Ri of Eons Team has worked so hard on this new military groups index…A big attagirl for RI! Enuf of that stuff…Ri, Suzy Blue Wire to me, is not accustomed to me being nice for any reason. I hope she recovers from the shock soonly! Gotcha Brat! Lolol

Back to the new INDEX location… This index will eventually contain listings for all our military groups, veterans, active, retired, missing and passed on. Please do check it out. Add your group’s name even if it is listed as private. This is for our gals and guys who are or have served our country.

All groups are subject to the TOU rules of Eons and courtesy will prevail. Also, remember this is a work in progress and that Ri has loads of other jobs at Eons.

While I’m at it, I need to thank the Boss Man, GaryJames for giving this new Index it’s banner. Well done, Boss… and that’s all the nice I have for the Garymeister.

The Index Addy will, in the future, will be posted at the end of every edition of the Mountain News. I will volunteer to answer any questions I can concerning this Index…or I can forward any questions to Ri. Don’t forget ours!

Oh dear… I am really done in. Do you guys have any idea how hard it is for me to be nice? Lolol I am reminded of a time when Little Jake did 3 gotchas in a row on me! Lolol I loved it, but I got even. I asked several new friends to send LJ a gift.. LJ had no idea why he was getting the gifts but he felt obliged to send thank you’s to each and every giver. I have forgotten how many thank you’s he had to write but I know it was more than 3. Gotcha again, Brat… hugs and love to you and the Redhead! Lolol

Now, for sumfin totally different. I am sort of watching/listening to Shark Week. Isn’t everybody. The show just coming on is about sharks in fresh water rivers. Our rivers have everything else why not a shark? Have I mentioned that I read every book the Hamilton, Ohio Library had on sharks?… There was a time when I wouldn’t go in the water after all this shark input… and I watched the bath tub drain very closely for months. Lolol I was really psyched out! I just knew a shark was gonna get me. Lolol
Safety for me lies on the mountain side. It will take one hell of a flood to get to me up here. As for a trip to California? Not going there! The San Andreas Fault would blow sky high (can earthquakes do that?) I would be on the wrong side of the Fault… Into the Pacific I would go and a shark would get me.

I’ve always wanted to go on a trek to Australia and surrounds. Sorry kids… Until they build a very sturdy highway to Australia, I ain’t going there either! Ditto for Hawaii (Sorry Donna)

The honest truth is the next time I come around I want to work with sea creatures especially the dolphins and whales. I think I could work that in with being a pilot and flying ‘those hallowed hall’s.

OK. Kitchen! The coffee maker is just wonderful… sitting there in all its majesty. Very regal looking. My shining knight in black. Would you believe that I can pour the water in the upper left? The pot itself doesn’t dribble or run. The aroma is out of this world and the coffee is yummy… I’ve died and gone to heaven.

I’ve decided tho… I am not a kitchen person. If it ain’t one thing, it’s a dozen others. How bout I had a taste for biscuits, butter and jelly? I dig in the freezer. Grab a bag of frozens which feels like a solid mass of hard stuff. Oh yeah, a lumpy brick of frozen dough!

Well, I have a way of taking care of frozen lumps if the pry bar doesn’t work. I slam the unopened bag to the floor… more than once if necessary! Hmmmm! Didn’t work this time. Ok, so I put the lump in the cast iron skillet (fried biscuit time) put a lid on and turn the burner to medium low heat. As the biscuits thaw, I then pry them apart.

With me so far? I bake the biscuits in the skillet… the biscuits rise… I turn them over. Some fell apart… that’s ok tho. I brown them on the other side while the center cooks.

The fell apart ones I put on the plate… put pat of butter (real butter) atop the crumbled ones. Then I sprinkled Chocolate chips and dried cranberries on top of everything. Didn’t need another thing added… I pigged out on this (I’m gonna lie here) no cal/low cal desert type concoction. If you want, you can sprinkle sprinkles, powder sugar, colored shredded cocoanut and/or nuts on top too.

I saved the good looking biscuits for tomorrow…I’ll fry some bacon… love my bacon!

Delilah, momma cat, going wild in the Mimosa out back. Oh Gee, I just remembered I need some names for the kittens… I hate to do this but I need to ask for another response for names…. I’ve lost the first ones…Sorry….

Black stripes on black male
Tortoise shell with 4 white paws
And the faded calico…

I am outa here for now… Take care all of mine; go in safety always. Remember to honor ours who gave their all to keep us safe.

Many hugs… much love…and loads of lafter… meems, the forgetful

THURSDAY EDITION

2010*8*5

Welcome home, Dear hearts, welcome home!

Cracking up … lolol  I did a gotcha’ on the Marv… and HE is trying to get even…He’s gonna have to go some to catch up!  Lolol  Looky what he started:

http://www.eons.com/groups/topic/2218026-Can-you-spot-what-s-wrong-or-?page=1

Marv asked a question and all I did was answer… a couple of times….lololol

And then, I get this email!  marvinll commented on your blog post on eons.com:

"emom, I don't know how to break this bit of news to you, but maybe you need new eye glasses.

The legs on the milking stool ( you have a brown cow now?) are different colors. and appear to have erasers on the bottom of them.

I felt as a good and upstanding ( until my first beer that is ) citizen that it is my duty to report you and you stool.

I don't know whether to contact the F.B.I. or an optometrist."  The boy really has a problem… lolol  I am on the floor throwing a hysterical fit!

Before I forget, I had to shut down this afternoon… T Storms rumbling thru.  Had a whole bunches of emails when I finally got back on but I don’t know if I missed anybody or not.  Sheesh!

Had some comments about the colored pencil milking stool… lololol  Here’s a tip for the kitchen décor..  lolol  Buy odd wooden chairs at yard sales… Buy the small cans of an oil based paint in the basic crayon colors.  Paint each chair a different crayon color. And yes, you can buy purple in the small can!  Now to the table… If it has feet of any sort, paint them and the legs one each to match a chair color.

No matter the shape of the table top, it can be painted with semigloss oil based poly.  Be sure to follow instructions and have plenty of ventilation.  The center of the table can have subject matter decoupaged in the center… a larger than normal checkerboard would be an ideal design.

And it seems I’ve already started a ‘pencil collection’… lolol  This pencil is usable, 10” long not counting the hanger… I’ve used a 2 ½” hair clip for scale.  Lolol   or  http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/761020-Giant-Pencil

Oh another before I forget… Hose off your outside A/C units… Make sure they are clean… Don’t want to have a meltdown like I had a couple of years ago.  Change your filters too.

OK, What next?  How bout Gitmo… ?  A week or more ago I watched a Military channel program about Gitmo.  Some of the personnel stationed there were interviewed.  I felt so bad for them.  They have had nothing but bad press for months now.  (Don’t get me started about the mis-info and exaggerated stories presented by the press as true!)

Our kids, my brats, are so sad and discouraged.  Makes me feel bad so I decided to contact Gitmo and ask if they would like to receive the News… I talked to a gazillion people last week.  All military…They all were nice and very helpful with px numbers and stuff.. One time I talked to the reservation desk at a hotel … lolol  another was the housing unit… No-one could help me get thru.  I still have bunches of px numbers but having found out the system was down (being worked on) I decided to wait until this week to start calling.  Now I’ve decided to wait until next week… My getting overheated put the squelch/delay on a lot of things I planned on doing.

I am feeling a lot better… have gotten plenty of rest… Now, if the weather gods would just relent for a while.  Grasscutter brought out some beautiful flat rocks and the 90 gal free form pond when he came out to finish the grass.  Did I tell you I got some potting soil?  Large bags?… will mix this with the clay soil like I did for the roses and the baby mimosa.  Makes good growing stuff… I can also use the chicken droppings in the chickieduck pen as fertilizer.   And then there’s the goat manure that Butch said I could have.  Aren’t you glad to know all this?  Lolol  I just need some cooler mornings… less humids… a light breeze from the north would be helpful.

Back to Guantanamo for a minute… if any one has a helpful suggestion, email or phone number you can share, pm me or email me at emom101@prtcnet.org      Thanx.

Take care…go in safety always .  Remember to take time for yourself.  You are important to your friends.

Many hugs, much love and loads of laffter… Meems

I almost forgot this too… Mandy called to my attention the coffee she sent was ground and she was right… I don’t know where I got the idea they were beans.  Lolol Anyhow, I opened the bag… Oh… does it smell yummy.  Hugs my brat…Gma

WEDNESDAY EDITION

2010*8*4

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home…

WoooooHoooo…. Lolol  Come on in and help yourselves to some tasty coffee… A POT THAT WORKS!  Lololol

I swear to you, the coffee gods have a bias against me… Told you about opening the boxes, the bag of beans.  What I didn’t tell you was that I didn’t know where I had put the coffee grinder.

OK, so I know where the pot is… dunno where the grinder is… go looking!  I looked every place a normal person would put a grinder.            No luck… I finally found it… Along side the paper towels on the top shelf in the canned goods area.  YES!  Lolol

In the mean time, I made a fresh new pot of coffee in the 12 cup maker using the original grounds.  The ground coffee and the new pot seem to get along just fine.

Now, I have a working pot, the coffee grinder but I cannot find the bag of beans.  Sheesh… Where in the heck have I put the beans?

I unpacked them in the living room… I look over the doggie barricade.  Nope.. not in the living room…

I do the routine in the kitchen… Nope, not in the kitchen either.  Off I go down the hall way… Check the bathroom.  Nope.  Into the apartment,  nada.

Back to the kitchen.  Restart the search.  No beans.  I am now losing my mind.  Did one of the dogs get a hold of it?  I check the back porch… Nothing.  Back into the kitchen… Ponder, ponder.  I quit!

By this time (Sunday ) Grasscutter has arrived.  I’m ready to roll for a shopping trip.  Need some turpentine (refined version) for painting.  Need cigars and stuff from the grocery.  GC will cut the grass when we get back.

Off we go.  First stop, the hardware store.  Would you believe they didn’t have any turps at all?  Well ratz.  I did get a few small items and a couple of large bags of potting soil.  Plants do very well when I mix potting soil in with the clay soil here.

Now, remember, we are having heat advisories here in the mountains.  The hardware store had no A/C just fans; I got out of there as soon as I possibly could.. Decided to make a quick trip to the junk store next door.  I love to go junking.

Anyway, I found a couple of small square canvases and a $7.00 foot stool.  Did I need the foot stool?  Nope but once you see it,  you’ll understand why I couldn’t resist it.  Lolol

or  http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/760702-The-Whimsey-Stool

Is this cute and delightful?  Every time I see it, I smile.

Anyhow, the junk store wasn’t a/c’d either.  I was starting to wilt around the edges.  We stopped for some Subways, filled the gas tank, got the cigars and headed ‘home, James’.  I was exhausted.

Now,  back to the coffee beans… Took me two days, but I finally found them in the living room.  Atop the VCR… lolol  Doesn’t everybody keep their beans on top of the VCR?  I’ve got the giggles now.

This is just a part of what happened the last few days… Try contacting Gitmo by px or email.  Nope… I worked for 4 days trying to get thru… Will tell you about that tomorrow.

Oh, Ri Eons has been working on a new addition to the Index.  For our gals and guys in the military.  GaryJames volunteered a banner he created to be used at the header to the new index. More tomorrow on this.  I’ve also tripped over another leaderless group.

Meems got overheated and had the punies for a couple of days.  Better now tho.

Take care all of mine.  Go in safety always.  Remember to say kind words to all you meet… You might just be the only bright spot in that person’s day.

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter to all… meems

Coconut Wireless to Emom’s Mountain News…Newsflash on BBB (Bamboo Bulletin Board) this a.m. reads as follows. THURSDAY…7-29-10...Unruly behavior is alive and well at LOMOWO's Mountain Retreat.
A simple to operate 2 cupper coffee maker is replicating volcanic activity. Doggie Six pack is also erupting with foul sounds and foolish requests. Owner/Operator aka LOMOWO is showing signs of massive blow out...kept in check only by non-stop cussing, frequent vanilla intake, and ongoing recharging of humor button. Reports of a constant stream of men coming and going round the clock are unfounded.
The above arrived on my puter doorstep from my roving reporter, Donna, in Maui.

Love the pics and the stories, Paula! Sounds like this house!! Donna, how do you know there isn't a "constant stream of men?" Sounds like there are plenty coming by to keep meems company. LOVE your BBB News, Donna! Need to see more of it; like the old days, huh?
This one came from a good friend, Junie.

Now, let me tell you about this morning! Chicken Little came to mind… remember the story of the Chicken who went around screaming “the sky is falling”? Well, after this non-stop miserable muggies we’ve been having here in the mountains, we’ve had a weather change!
Yup yup, I was tempted to run around the front porch, yelling ‘winter is here, winter is here!’ lolol YES! I was finally able to set on the porch with my cuppa and enjoy looking at the world…64 degrees, humidity way down… a gentle breeze…Blue sky! Yes, I said blue sky! I was flapping my elbows and fluffing my tail assembly from relief. My tail assembly droops quite noticeably in the hot muggies…
The critters joined me on the porch for a few and then went on a ScatCat/Doggie tag rampage. Lolol I laffed, whooped and hollered til I cried. We were all intoxicated by the change to cooler/dryer.
I managed to spill my coffee all over the porch. Lolol So much for relaxing with my cuppa. What a crazy way to start the day. Well, why not!?!

Speaking of coffee… lolol As I am going out the front door trying not to spill, I discover two packages sitting to the left of the door….a small one and a much larger one. From Amazon? I didn’t order anything from Amazon. I checked and yes, they were addressed to Grandma Paula Rice. Hmmm.

You’ll never guess what I found when I opened the smaller box… A large package of coffee beans… an island exotic. Wow!

I went to the larger box… and there from my Granddaughter Amanda, was a coffee maker! Out of the clear blue sky, coffee and maker! Thank you dear heart, thank you! Hugs, kisses and much love from your very appreciative Grandma.

Maybe the storms were worth it since it has turned into such a beautiful day. I might have misspoken here… the thermo outside the apartment window now says 92 deg. Well, it was lovely while it lasted..

Storms… I was out on the back porch yesterday afternoon when a second storm came raging through. I was enjoying the spray of the windblown rain… heard a strange sound…almost a sigh. As I looked to my right, I saw a part of the mimosa fall. A (6” diameter) section of the trunk at the base had split away from the main section of the tree. Nothing else was damaged, thank goodness.

Saw/heard some of my BBSBs up there yesterday afternoon. Also had a heldoctor go over the house. I waved and carried on like the ding ding I am… lolol Nobody’s dropped a butterfly net yet but Anna says it’s only a matter of time. I’m afraid she’s right… Shut up, Marv!

Think I’d better quit while I’m ahead. Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember to look for clear blue and forever visibility.
