WEDNESDAY EDITION
2010*11*24

Welcome home dear hearts, welcome home

Laws are like sausages. It's better not to see them being made.
- Otto von Bismarck
(somebody had a sense of humor)

And a headline from the Lex Herald Leader….
f.. Lawsuit says dead people, felons voted in (I deleted county name) election.

I bet this was a sight to behold! I wonder if … who…? Ahhh… never mind. And please, everyone detect a note of sarcasm here…or not. And, NO, it wasn’t in Owsley county or adjacent counties…lolol

OK… enuf of the pol stuff… lolol I keep looking out the east window and I swear I see an occasional snow flake. I can’t be positive because I have the Spudley’s snuffle marks on the window at my eye level. Time to get out the vinegar and the scraper again. lolol and then there’s the temp thing… Weather reports say mid 40’s but stranger things have happened in the mountains.

Well, the rain slacks off a bit… I rattle around the house for a little while picking up and straightening. Hmmmm…. The Tildy is parked on the weather side of the house… so I decided to grab the keys and move the truck to a more sheltered spot. I am in pink jammy bottoms, a too large maroon t-shirt and my mocs. I thought it best if I put on the old red robe because the temp was only in the 40’s. Can you say mountain sex symbol on the move? I am crackin’ up…

OK, so I go out the side door…down the ramp… it starts to sprinkle… I keep going… It’s not THAT far to Tildy. Wrong! I struggle into the driver’s side. Red robe doesn’t like the texture of the seat cover. Hmmm. OK… I try the key. I only get a series of clicks. Being’s I a not too brite, I try the key again. No luck.
Well, ratz! It is now a steady rain outside the windshield.

Ahh… the heck with it…I struggle back out of the truck and start to trundle (one of my fave words) to the ramp. Decisions, decisions…I finally make up my mind to collect the mail while I am out there. I’m already damp! Why not?

So I start wandering up the drive… glasses are starting to fog up a little.. I get to the mail box.. One piece of mail. OK, fine! I hear a heavy duty motor at the lower bend in the road. Oh dear… here come the TreeTrimmer bunch! They stop… and they are grinning at me…

Can’t imagine why… lolol Standing in the pouring rain…Hair was pinned up but getting stringy wet. The shoulders of the robe were starting to match the color of the T-shirt. I bet I was out there 15 mins or more joking with those brats! I held the mail above my glasses so I could keep the rain off them. Anyhow, we wished each other a happy T’Day. They went on their way giggling… I came back inside, a little weather worn but laffing. I do have the best time up here. Lolol

TURKEY DAY! LOLOL

How bout I rolled out at 1130 hrs this morning… Had my coffee… beautiful outside. Why not go out and enjoy the sun and clouds for a little while… Started to cloud up so I came back inside. Now, mind you, I went out with clean clothes… hot coffee.. keys to try the truck again. Not bothering a soul, right? Right!

I play on puter a bit… I get a couple of phone calls… Laff with the callers until I cried… lolol Then, I decided to take a bath, do my hair… read in the bubble bath…

Back up a smidge here… First, let me say I haven’t taken a bath by myself for years… If I leave the bath room door open, the critters all try to crowd in just to see what the meems is doing… we have to taste the water… check the temp with our noses… eventually we get bored… mom is reading a book? We wander off.

Now, if I go take a bath, close the door, do I have any peace? I don’t think so! Critters start to complain loudly… These complaints disturb the peace… It is much simpler to leave the door open…

OK, so tonite, door is open. Critters get bored finally and wander off. YES! I am home free! Not! I hear strange sounds coming from the kitchen… Scratching sounds and sumfin else… the sumfin else was complaining. Sheesh! Now what…

I give up! So much for the bubble bath soak! I climb out… I get nite clothes on…out to the kitchen I go…I finally locate the noise… Oh dear!

Another frog! I rescue poor lil thing from the cats… Bring him back here to the apartment to see if he’s ok. I cleaned off the dog hair… and the dust and and… lolol I hold him up to the life cam but it’s not the best shot in the world… Will just give you an idea of his size in my hand. Lolol well, I petted and talked to him. He jumped off my hand. I then had to run down, capture, a wild frog back here in the apartment… lolol I got him in hand… took him to the side door and released him into the falling rain.

Can I go to bed now? Lolol

Take care all of mine… Go in safety always. Remember that no matter how hard you try to behave, the Fates will NOT allow it…. Lolol

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter… The wild critter rescuer meems

MONDAY EDITION

WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME

OK… so I expected Grasscutter might be out today, but something must have come up. Instead, I am busy cover diving and the phone rings… All right… so I roll out..answer the phone. It’s Anna! Get your teeth in. I’ll be by your place in about 5 minutes. OK… lolol I hear all this noise in the background. She’s still at church! Gonna bring me sumfin good (turkey dinner) from church… lolol Trust me, church is more than 5 minutes away.

Well, I stuff a cuppa in the nuke machine. Set the timer and go flying back down the hall… Put on a GG outfit…I know it’s chilly out there so I grab the old red robe… (It is warm) Cigs/lighter… back to the kitchen. Grab the mug out of nuker and then head towards the front door. Obviously, I was asleep on my feet on the first trip… I didn’t notice the disaster that had occurred in the living room. Oh dear. Well, check out the décor that I found. Lolol

Sheesh… and you guys think I make some of this stuff up…lololol I wouldn’t be that lucky! Lolol

Well, that was a day or so ago. Sunday, the rag tag kids woke me about noon. Grass cutter was already out-front digging the hole for the pond. He was getting the pack greeting… Lilyputz tells the whole world that GC is her main man. She yodels and sings and jumps up when he bends down to pet her. Does he have a choice? I don’t think so. Lolol He calls her his harlot… lolol Did it ever occur to anybody that I know some very strange people? Lololol

I’m being suzy homemaker today or at least trying. Have the laundry going.. Have peach colored undies again! I also have tie dyed looking sweat pants and the designs are kind of neat. Sort of like willow leaves falling… And a couple of t-shirts too now that I think about it. Maybe I should take some pix of what happens when I mess with bleach and the washing machine. The living room has to wait until tomorrow. I should mention that GC was impressed by the mess in there. He was speechless…! Never said a word!

Another neighbor stopped by while we were working out front… Donny, from down the road, is one of mine. He was in the Army. He asked what we were doing… I thot it was obvious but he was really asking what was going to be put IN the pond. Lolol
I thot about adding goldfish next spring… lolol and some lilies and maybe a lotus. However…..

A small problem has developed… The rag tag bunch seem to think the pond is out there for their express usage! This is not quite what I had in mind when I started this project… lolol Every project I start appears to take on its own aura of activity. Wonder why that is? Am I losing control? Am I swamped with more that necessary? (I hesitate to say yes cause I know very well that it could get worse)

My flyguys were up there yesterday… I really think their curiosity has gotten the best of them… lolol Whatever is that woman doing now? I think they finally made a believer of GC… There must have been dozens going over… and believe it or not, I had a huge X right over the house… The X was made up of numerous contrails. Now, somehow, I don’t think that was an accident. Loved every minute of it!

It’s getting on to my cover diving time… and that’s where I’m heading. Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember when all else fails go eat a hot fudge sundae!

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter… The pretending I know what I am doing meems

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home

Hey kids, get on in here. Make yourselves to home and help yourselves to whatever should be in the fridge or on the stove or the bread box. (I don’t have a breadbox) lolol

Now, I have a question to ask you all. Does it ever cross your mind or do you ever notice that my mind works in strange and mysterious ways? I don’t mean any deep and serious contemplation; just a random thot now and then?

I feel that I am perfectly normal until I read some of the comments/replies left on my blogs by people who know me way too well. Lolol The following are just a small sample of the remarks I sometimes receive. Lolol

Another of life’s lessons learned… Do not tilt your head back to check the skies when you have a cup of coffee at your lips. The coffee has a tendency to follow the laws of gravity.

What exactly is "port WIND" .... or should that be port WINE?!

Inquiring minds need to know the answer .....

Teehee ..... and I do believe I GOTCHA MMM!!!

Oh, and OR ..... if I were you I'd be heading to your nearest Fallout Shelter! Just sayin'.

Oh yeah .... I have no comment about "The Marv" because he defies comment!!

Shoot! Is that why that happens? Gravity? When did this get decided? When did that memo come out? I miss all the good stuff!

I'm trying not to think about the deer leg. I had nearly forgotten about it. Ah. Well, guess I need to find something to drive it from my mind. The tree trimmers being freaked by the meems- yeah , that would do it!!

Hey meems, next go round with the tree trimmers, you might want the chips dumped somewhere on the back 40. They make great winter mulch.

See what I have to put up with? Me … being the sweet natured, kind hearted, critter loving person that I am? (I think I am gonna be sick here in a minute… Even my stomach can stand only so much) lololol Haven’t received a gotcha from the Marv yet today. Maybe he is still trying to recover from the mashed apple treatment. Anyway, I crack up when I read stuff like the above. And ya know what else? I feel loved and cared about.

OK, this part is gonna be a little bit mushy, but it’s that time of the year. For me, it is heartwarming to find all these teases and torments… and they make me feel like I am wrapped up in the ‘warm cuddlies’. No matter how rotten the person at the other end, I feel loved. It makes me feel so good to read that someone is happy to be called one of mine/brats/rotten kids or whatever else might fall out of my fingertips.

Another thing… y’all seem to put up with my typos or missing words or phrases. Did you know that another problem I have is my brain works faster that my fingers keep up with? KK hasn’t been feeling well but she is doing better… At least, she caught one of my typo’s…see above. Lolol KK is always watching for my typo’s or or or… HEY KK! Time to repeat and run your typo’s dissertation. Don’t we do this every year about this time… the repeat? But only after we dig out the vanilla bottle…

And then there is a friend who lives down by the TN border. I hadn’t talked to her for a while so I decided to call. Well, how bout she has a broken foot? She says she fell off her sandals…flat sandals. She says the carpet reached out and grabbed her and tripped her. Hmmmm…. Does this sound plausible? Lolol I told her to lay off the vanilla… KC gave me to know she’s in love (?) with Jack (Daniels) OK, whatever works! Gotcha KC… told you I would! Lolol Go ahead, blame the carpet… blame the sandals… Uh huh!

Now I’ve got the giggles.

FRIDAY EDITION

2010*11*19

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home…

OK, so get your buns in here and get warm… Eat thru ya kind of weather out there again.  Was 28 deg when I rolled out early this morning.  Heavy equipment with tree trimmers aboard running up and down the road.  I’m not too sure how they manage to get all that stuff around the lower curve… Big truck hauling a chipper and I think it had a cherry picker attached too but I won’t swear to that.

Well, the guys stop out front… one comes to the door…is it ok?  (Like I should argue with a cherry picker/chipper?)  Is it ok if we trim around your pole… Yup, no problem, just leave the pole.  Then one of the guys wraps this skirt looking thingy around he waist.  I leaned forward to take a look at the material… It was so encrusted with dirt and oil and stuff that I couldn’t tell if it was suede chaps or what.  As I leaned, the guy moved back.  I think I startled him.

I explained about the material and he picked up the sides of what I called a skirt and flapped it at me.  Lolol  I cracked up and asked him if he was interested in older women…fluff fluff, primp primp!  Lololol  Well, they finally got the joke and started cracking up… However, I did find out that the material was heavy duty canvas and made like western chaps with a waffle patterned lining… good idea…

The guy in charge and I walked down to the lower field… discussed the why’s and wherefore’s  of the field and where to drive… any water lines-nope…septic tank? Nope.  Ok, that part’s clear.

The guys went to work cutting and trimming around the elec pole and I came back inside.  Duh, Paula… It finally dawned on me I should take some pix but it was too late… they had done their trimming and moved on.  Well, maybe next time.

Woooo Hoooo!  I just received a package from my Secret Admirer!  I got this strange message the other day to check my mail box.  lololol Oh dear, now what is this person up to? This type of thing makes me very nervous.

A box with goodies?  Oh yeah… how about two cheese logs and two types of meat logs?

Naturally, I had to check things out... I attacked the cheddar/port wind/almond right away... very gingerly  though.  One never knows in today's world what a package might contain especially when sent by the Secret Admirer.  At once, I decided that this hunk of cheese was free and clear of any bad stuff... hadn't turned rotten (like the sender) or nuffin.  I sample a bit... Hmmm... tastes yummy but being the cautious type I am, I try another experimental bite.  Oh yeah!  Well, by the time I finished sampling/testing and tasting, the cheese log was all gone along with some large tater chips.  Can you founder on cheese and chips?  Knowing full well I cannot resist temptation, do you suppose my Secret Admirer is trying to fatten me up for another gotcha?  I just betcha!

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

And then I get this message on my Blog page from none other than the rotten brat, Marv!

posted by marvinll Online26 minutes agoon Thu, 18 Nov 2010 20:19:28 GMT

I'm biting my tongue real hard so as not to make a remark about the "wrinkled apple".......... and to who or what it might have any similarity to.
My tongue is now bleeding.........

Now, do I have any sympathy for the Marv?  I don’t think so.  Is he comparing me to a wrinkled apple?  Is this an old person remark in disguise? Well, I gave him to know that I would wrinkle his apple!  Sheesh (I am dressed in my best GG outfit and THE red robe.  Trust me, he will be a sauced apple when I get finished with him!)  Well, you know what I mean!  lolol

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

The one thing I can say for sure about the Marv… No matter how hard I try, he never improves.  He only gets worse!  Gotcha Brat!  Lololol

Now, remember the deer leg?  Well, it’s wandered back into the house several times now.  I AM the Boss lady here right?  WRONG!  Nobody seems to pay any attention to me unless I rattle the rolled up newspaper.  (what ever works)  The latest occurrence  ended up with the leg being thrown as far from the back porch as I could throw it.  So far, it has remained outside the house.  So there!

And now, there is a whole/partly shredded deer hide in the side yard.  Sheesh!  I wish the hunters would make use of the hides.  Get them tanned or sumfin.  Then make mocs or bags or sumfin.  Why waste them?

I need to apologize for the duplicate copies that sometimes end up on some of my posts.  Don’t know what the glitch is, but the other day, I found 5 copies of the News posted in one entry.  Sheesh! Sorry bout that.  I delete the extras when I see them but I don’t always catch them.

Another of life’s lessons learned… Do not tilt your head back to check the skies when you have a cup of  coffee at your lips.  The coffee has a tendency to follow the laws of gravity.

Guess that’s it for the day.  Take care all of mine.  Go in safety always.  Remember to look up, the storm clouds will pass.

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter everyday… The heading back to the gift package meems

THURSDAY EDITION

2010*11*17

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home

You know, sometimes it is better not to remember some things…I can’t seem to get Ira Drang out of my mind for some reason.  Maybe it’s because so many were lost.  I think of what might have been or what could have been.  I wish things could have been different.  I am so sad.  Go in safety mine.  Rest and leave be.

I guess maybe this time of year is hard on everyone for one reason or another.  Sometimes it helps to remember the good times… It helps to think of the laffter that was there once upon a time ago.  The swapping of ideas and jokes… The tormenting and teasing and the sharing…

I’ve started reading Brown Water, Black Beret.  I’ve made it thru the prologue.  I’m not so sure that I can make my way thru the whole book…I’m reading it because I think it will help me better understand how to help mine when the need arises.  Maybe this is why I am feeling so sad.

Now, on a more positive note if you will, I must share the negative things that go on here on the mountain.  Well,  how bout I decided to cover dive after I angled the TV so I could see it from the bed.  I mean, it was cold, rainy, windy and generally miserable outside my window.  Why not curl up with the dogs, get warm and cozy and watch some TV?

Firstly, I piled up some pillows and got all comfy.  This is neat!  I could see the TV and relax at the same time.  However it seems that I was in the Spudley’s spot on the bed… I was using his pillow!  Oh dear!   Ok, so I scoot over to make room for him.  I really didn’t have much of a choice.  Lolol  He crawls into the small space between me and the side of the bed.  Sheesh!  I finally end up in my usual spot on the far side of the bed!  Shows how I rate around here… lolol

or

http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/616253-Spudley-still-on-duty

OK, so now I am down to one pillow… If I tuck the covers tightly under my chin, I can still see the TV.  Are you still with me here?  Lolol

The next thing I know, I have a small doggy face looking at me over the covers.  I can no longer see the TV.

The Pyggs has decided to curl up on my left side to get warm… The heck with the TV.  Mom doesn’t need to watch TV… She only goes to bed to sleep… lolol

The other problem I have is with reading my books… Used to be I’d crawl in and read for a while.  Well, the light is on the right side of the bed.  I sleep on the left cause that’s the only place left for me.… just shows the problems which can develop when you go from a queen sized water bed to a smaller feather bed set up.

Another thing… I’ve been afraid to look but I seem to have had a flurry of feathers.  (That’s similar to a snow storm but dryer..)  lolol  Now, I have feathers and beetles (similar to as snow storm but smellier)scattered all over.  Of the two, I’d rather have the feathers.  Oh well… could be worse.

Let’s see here… what else?  Oh yeah… I worked on the Black apple and the small landscape with a warmhouse.  It dawned on me why we don’t see the Black apple in the grocery stores… They don’t keep.  When I went into the studio last nite,  I discovered a very wrinkled apple.  Was that a week ago that Anna gave it to me?  Well, I’m going to plant the seeds in pots, bundle the hay around the pots for the winter and see what happens in the spring… I have a perfect spot on the east side of the house to start an orchard.

Guess that’s it for a while… lolol  Take care all of mine… go in safety always.  Remember to dwell on the positives of life…it helps.

Many hugs, much love and lots of happiness and lafter… meems

Air Force warns troops about Facebook feature

Facebook (Getty Images)

advertisement

Posted: 11/17/2010

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Air Force is warning its troops to be careful when using Facebook and other popular networking sites because some new features could show the enemy exactly where U.S. forces are located in war zones.

In a warning issued on its internal website earlier this month, the Air Force said that "careless use of these services by airmen can have devastating operations security and privacy implications." The message was also sent to senior commanders, who were asked to get the word out to their forces.

The sites are a concern for U.S military services, which have 95,000 troops in Afghanistan and roughly 50,000 in Iraq. The Army, which provides the bulk of the battlefield forces, said it intends to circulate a similar warning about location services to key personnel next week.

The applications, which are offered by a variety of services including Facebook, Foursquare, Gowalla and Loopt, can identify a person's location, even pinpoint it on a map.

A key concern is that enemy forces could use such features to track troops in the war zone who have a Blackberry or other smart phone and use those networking services.

Location services have grown in popularity as more people get smart phones that have GPS and other means of determining the user's location.

In most cases, however, users have to go into the program manually and check in - or list a location - in order for that location to show up.

According to Facebook's practices, for example, users must either download the Facebook application and then check in to a location, or go to the mobile Facebook page to check in. The default setting for Facebook then allows a user's friends to see the location, but that setting can be manually changed to allow friends of friends or "everyone" see the location.

TUESDAY EDITION..
2010*11*16

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home

Come on in and set a spell… get warm and dry off… sheesh, the weather has been miserable…but at least, it rained. Maybe the forest fires in this area will slow down some. I’m not in any danger here at the moment but that can always change without notice.

Speaking of fires… I received a couple of messages from two of mine that I haven’t heard from in ages. [just to torment this lil old lady] One was a fly guy…the other with the 101st Airborne. Remembering some of the things we talked about a long time ago… One of which was Ira Drang. A place, a village, a valley which disappeared overnite in flames and deadly fire power. The many of ours who died there and those wounded who were rescued and still suffer the after effects. To those, I wish to say a heartfelt thank you for your service and your sacrifices. The 14th of November is the day to remember. I have this date marked in my diary.

Well, now… This week is starting on a down hill slope already. Sheesh… I know that the mountains of KY have home addresses that are a little different from the rest of the world. Apparently, the rest of the world does not understand that premise.

I ordered a book from Amazon… Brown Water…by Thomas J Cutler. No problem…Order accepted. Will be en route…then I get an email from Amazon… Cannot deliver because package will NOT fit in the box at the Post Office. OK, I don’t have a PO Box…Why would the package need to fit in the Post Office Box? My addy does not read P.O. Box… It reads Rte.# Box###. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t see the resemblance.

OK, so I start on my first cuppa… I decide I best call the PO. The Post Master answers the phone. He hears me laffing, calls me by name, and wants to know how he can help me. Well, I tell him I am beyond help and he just laffs all the harder… Anyway, my book was delivered and now all I need do is work reading into my schedule.

Any of you with weak stomachs might want to skip this paragraph. Hunting season is upon us. Deer are being taken right and left, up and down the mountain slopes. Well, how bout somebody (a 4 leggedy somebody) had drug in an entire leg… right down to the hoof. Sheesh… On my bedroom floor… daintily chewing on the remains. Well, I screeched… grabbed the furry end and took said leg to the back porch…out it went. And then yesterday, I squalled at the Lilyputz who was trying to get back here with the afterburner section of a critter in her mouth. Yucky pucks…! I scrubbed and disinfected and then scrubbed some more. I guess I should be thankful the rag tag bunch didn’t capture a musk rat or skunk.

A BIG WOO HOO HERE! That big bill that I was paying off is done paid off! Five years, and it is finally over. I am celebrating.. Oh yes!. Balance according to the letter is $0.00. And trust me, five years is enuf time to re-order your spending habits. I’ve developed new habits and that is a good thing. I wasn’t sure I was going to live to see the end of it! Wowser…

What else… Oh, I saw a black widow spider on the kitchen sink today. Sorry, but I spritzed her. Didn’t dare take the chance that I might get bitten. Had she been outside, I wouldn’t have bothered her. And I have a note written here ‘pinball 3 to 5 amps’. I have no idea what that means. Lolol I do this all the time… I don’t know why I bother to write a cryptic note to myself when I know darned well that in two or three days I won’t have a clue as to what it means. Another note says ‘gravel’.

I know what the ‘gravel’ means… I have a ton and a half of rock at the end of my driveway. It’s the white stuff. I’m going to put it around the little pond out front. Almost like a walkway around the pond. It looks great under the red clay pots… a great background color.

This is my very first pond…1996 I have done several since. Each one has had its own personality. I am soooo happy to be able to get to work again…

Another thing, I’ve found my red robe…I don’t know if this is a good thing or not. Time will tell…

Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember red robes and lil ole ladies are a dangerous combination. Lolol

Oh gee… where do I start…lolol I might just as well laff… cause nuthin’ is gonna change around here!

Come on in… Set… and have a mug of sumfin hot to drink. The weather has gone from warm sunny days and cold nites to cloudy and drizzly freeze your buns off. Woo hoo! I have wall to wall critters here in the apartment…snuggled up and sound asleep… lolol Several of them are snoring…lolol Guess who’s been assigned guard duty for the time being. Notice that I am the one doing the typing! Lolol

I guess the critters figure they are on duty, one way or another, at nite… It’s my job to take over during the day. Trusting creatures…

OK, I need to remind you all that I have no concept of time.. None, nada, nil, zilch. If I say yesterday or a while back, it could have been 3 months ago, 3 years ago or 3 minutes ago. Some days, ‘this morning’ could have happened this morning or a lifetime ago. Lolol So, if I use ‘a while back’ or ‘once upon a time ago’, take it for what it’s worth. If it’s in the past, does it really matter most of the time?

Now, back to the red spray paint from the other day. Lolol Remember I finally got the ball inside to rattle around…that I’m out front in the yard with the to be sprayed frame. So, I pop the cap off… look at the spray opening… that looks ok.. push the button and nothing happens. Hmmmm… I check the opening… still looks clear… OK, so I push on the button again… nada! OK, I push the valve sideways… I hear sumfin click. I push down on the valve… AHA! I have spray. I also have dark red paint dribbling down my fingers and over the back of my hand. This is not quite what I had in mind when I started.

I had started out to paint a frame… what I ended up with is a red left hand, a spritzed wrist, but would you believe I didn’t get a drop on my granny grunge outfit? I was shocked! Lolol

Speaking of the GG outfits, Sherri ventured another idea about adding a temp tatt in the package when some one orders a new outfit. Lolol Good idea! I’m thinking of making Sherri my marketing manager…Oh dear, I am in serious trouble here.

Then somebody asked me about my 180 pound lumpy critter hall blocker. Wanted to know what kind of dog. Well, I’m talking about the Newbie. Long time readers helped me raise and live thru the puppy stages. Newbie is mostly Great Pyrenees. A huge dog to begin with. He was a stray found by a gal who works for Joey, my vet. I was told he was about a year old. OK, more to that story but he was neutered and a pussy cat sweetie type dog. OMG! I mouthed him (checked his teeth) and he wasn’t even 6 months old when I got him. He ate everything but the back wall of the house. I had to take a rasp to the chair rungs to smooth them down some. He ate shoes, food off the counter tops, the table and the stove. He ate a pillow, a blanket (well, part of it anyway) took over my bed, my house and my heart.

When Joey came out a while back to give them their shots. His only comment about the Newbs was: “ he hasn’t gotten any smaller, has he” I cracked up. Lolol I’ve ridden ponies smaller than the Newbers… lolol So here are a few pix of the Newbs and the rest of the rag tag bunch… Enjoy… cause I sure do!

Don’t know if this one above came out right or not…Sheesh

In this last pic, the Newbers is about a year old… more growing to come.

Guess that’s it for the time being… Don’t forget I may be off line a lot this coming week while the treetrimmers are working …

Take care all of mine… go in safety always. Remember to use caution… there may be a stray dog waiting around the corner. Oh yeah…

Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter… the can’t say no meems

FRIDAY EDITION
2010*11*12

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home.

Git on in here… but be advised I am meaner than a snake, twice as grumpy and generally in a nasty mood. Lololol but I’m still charming. (flutter, flutter, primp flirt)

How bout I turned the puters off last nite… for the first time in forever. Well, now, I can’t get back on the net. Seems like in trying to protect my puters, I left them open for some kind of damage with the elec outages. I called the tech service… My IP has changed somehow. Someone else in the area has had the same problem today. Well, ratz…

I have an idea of what has happened…can you say a fried chip at the relay station? Lolol However, the sweetheart tech said that if I had left the puters on, I would have been able to get back on line. Tripped over my own ego again… lolol

Lets see here now… what else can I get into without even trying? That question boggles the mind. I tried to call the Marv to have him update the info in my guestbook… How bout no ring… dead silence…I tried to call phone co. Dialed their number and my voice mail kicked in!

I think I am gonna throw a hissy fit now! Lolol

SATURDAY EDITION
2010*11*12

Get your butts in here and have some coffee… might want to bring some ear plugs while you’re at it! Sheesh! I might be a little bit crude but I’m ALLOWED! Cause I said so! You wouldn’t believe the happenings up here on the mountain since Monday.

I know I told y’all about voting and picking up the bales of hay. Well, I was a little bit tired on Wednesday so I didn’t do much of anything except the 6’ x 5’ high book case from the hallway into the kitchen. Grasscutter and I moved it upstairs from the basement a couple of weeks before. Needed the shelf space up here.

Well, The book case took up part of the Newbie’s sleeping space in the hall way. He was bound and determined to sleep there by the return air duct. Now, with a 180 lb dog flopped in the hall, sound asleep and immovable, I could no longer safely do my broken field running to the kitchen. It was either me, the dog or the book case. I moved the book case. Meems may be slow but I ain’t totally stupid! (except for sometimes)

OK, so the book case is in the kitchen… needs to be painted… I go looking for a can of red paint. So, I’ve got the red paint… I spot the frame for the Black apple painting. Hmmm, it needs to be painted too. Aha! I have a can of dark red spray. Been sitting there on the shelf for a while [like 4 or 5 years] and it’s a little too cool to use right away.

I come back into the apartment and start shaking the can… Oh goodie… the little ball starts to rattle… I put can near the TV set so it will warm up. The can of regular paint is now parked on the top of the book case. (Have you ever notice, the more flat surfaces you have, the more articles you will eventually find parked on it… the flat surface that is!)

So now, I have dust and dog fur strewn all over the house… Them stinky beetles are all over the apartment. Yucky pucks! The kitchen is ready to be condemned… the living room ain’t far behind. And I am getting a little tattered around the edges myself! Lolol

Anyhow, I decided the heck with the house work, went outside to sit in the sun for a bit. Good grief! I spent about 15 minutes out there and decided I needed to get down to the two pumper store. I was out of lighter fluid and CHOCOLATE! OMG! No CHOCOLATE! Well, I brush hair, put it up in a twist/pony tail…lock the dogs in the house and off I go.. Beautiful day! I’m am dressed in my finest GG outfit…cutoffs!

Well, I get to the store… get some chocolate covered donuts, some Reece’s and a pizza! Oh boy… can’t wait to dig into the pizza. Nummy nummy! I’m kinda wandering around looking at stuff when I almost run over a young man standing in front of me. I look up and see Justin (Treetrimmer’s helper) standing there grinning at me. Then here comes Mike, the head guy with a third feller in tow. I’m introduced to Wayne. A newbie on Mike’s team. Oh dear….

Those guys teased… I retaliated… Would you all believe that we all caused a small but noisy disturbance there in the store… Worse yet, Wayne had some neat tatts… and I just had to check them out. So, we are outside the store… Wayne is showing me his tatts and when he shows the one around his belly button, tells me that one hurt… a lot! We discussed the merits and locations of different tatts… he kept it clean… lolol But there we stand in the parking lot of the two pumper… 4 of us… Wayne with his t-shirt up around his neck while I checked him out. He has a beautiful tatt on his left shoulder that looks almost Mayan in design. Said he had it done in Richmond…I’ve always wanted at tatt of a stick dragon but I’m not into pain!

What should have been a 15 minute trip turned into an hour or more. I stopped at Butch and Dotty’s on the way home… We were surrounded by goats, kids, chickens, ducks, geese, dogs and one pig (off to the side) One little baby decided that I was his Momma. Oh dear…It was sooooo cute… lolol While I was there, one of the nannies’ decided to drop her young’uns. There she was, in the big field having her babies. A big awwww here… they are sooo cute… I came on home.

And at noon today, the door bell rang… I rolled out to answer the door… there was Grasscutter! Sitting out front soaking up sun light. I’ll tell you about that tomorrow… lolol

Take care all of mine… go in safety always. Remember strange things will happen no matter how hard you try to avoid them… lolol

Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter everyday… the ever curious meems…
