Tragedy

It's one tragedy after another striking with vegance throughout the world today. Tragedy comes in so many forms and it is no respector of age, sex, nationality, nor religion or Christian belief. Wars continue throughout the world, disease, pestilence, and natural phenomena cause loss of many lives and other physical destruction. In California and surrounding states fire has raped the land, caused loss of life, homes burnt to the ground, families left homeless. Again flood waters have covered gulf Coast area of Louisiana. World wide in Central Italy a major earth quake has flattened one town, caused major damage to another over 200 have died (many trapped in the debre). The quake is about 40 miles from Rome. So sad years ago I walked the streets of both towns while stationed overseas. With all that, American University in Kabul was attacked. Saying all this, when is the world going to get it. We have set God aside and the world has created other god's to follow. Even those who claim to be Christian have become luke warm. How much more will God allow this world to continue in this manner it going remains to be seen. I believe the "last days" prior to Jesus 2nd coming began after Jesus ascension, however, it seems to me the events prior to Jesus coming has increased many fold (read Gospel St. Matthew chapter 24) since a reminder of the Jewish people are back in the land God gave them since 1948. The main question is in the world that you and I live in are we part of the problem of bringing chaos or peace in a world gone astray?
I was just asked by a fellow Boomer how trying to control outcomes in our lives affects us. As a Life Coach I believe that many believe trying to control outcomes in their life will take away the stress of uncertainty. I believe opposite is true. Trying to control the outcome or make things happen the way you want them to is what causes stress, not what relieves it. You might want to check out Judith Orloff, MD, who is author of a book called "The Ecstasy of Surrender: 12 Surprising Ways Letting Go Can Empower Your Life."
It is refreshing to see there are children being children. I stepped out my front door, looking across the street I saw my neighbors girls 5 & 6 on there knees drawing figures on the sidewalk with colored chalk. Later, when I came back from the store the same two girls were riding their bikes... Giggling and full of smiles. I happened to have a bag of peanut butter cookies. I went over and asked them if they would like one (mother came out & got a cookie also). The two girls and I sat on the curb ate the cookies and I just listed to them as they shared their joys and wishes from their 5 & 6 year old perspective. After the cookies were done I got up and they said," thank you Mr. Jeff for the cookies and eating them with us.... Have a nice day. The girls got up, put their helmets on and went on their way giggling. This is in part what makes life great. Great to the very last drop.
My grand father was a master wood crafter. He was a very wise man. I can remember a day I was with him telling him about all my problems, he very calmly in his soft gentle voice said ? " Grandson, if they were to take all the problems of the world and put them on one large table....then give you the choice of anyone of the problems on that table...... You would be the first one to pick out your own."
“He who knows not and knows not he knows not: he is a fool - shun him. He who knows not and knows he knows not: he is simple - teach him. He who knows and knows not he knows: he is a sleep - wake him. He who knows and knows he knows: he is wise - follow him.†~ Chinese Proverb

As life coach I am convinced that: Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is on it's way and for me since "time" at my age is the most import component I have. I live life today to the fullest and do what's important.
I'm not to concerned about what I already know, but I sure am about what I don't know. "Jeff" (sounder)

Truth

The other evening I watched the movie "A Few Good Men" the scene is where Colonel Jessup is in military court and Lt. JG Caffee (Lawyer-Tom Cruise) asks the question to Colonel Jessup " Did you give the order?" Caffee says, " I want the truth!" Colonel Jessup replies, " son, you can't handle the truth." It''s sad when any life is taken by another person, this past week there has been so much violence in Dallas and other parts of the country not counting the ruthless murders that didn't hit nor will ever be headline news though just as grusome. If we look at the big picture The Bible clearly gives us a picture of what the end times will be like. The One event that stands out clearly to me is found in the Gospel of St. Matthew where Jesus declares that one of the signs just prior to His return there will be an increase in violence...many will turn away from faith and will betray and hate each other because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. ( St. Matthew 24: 4-14). Jesus clearly remind the world that unless people repent and turn from their wicked way this is just a glimpse of what it's going to be like. You and I are living in those times Christ spoke of. As colonel Jessup said to Lt. JJ Caffee, "you can't handle the truth". Well in my opinion, (and I know what's said about opinions) God is the one who is in control and all things will work together for the good for all who trust him. For those who don't well......... God have mercy on them. You may not be able to handle what I posted, however it is the truth as I understand it. "Jeff"
