One of my clients remarked how God didn't give him what he thought he needed. After a brief quiet I said to him, " have you ever thought that maybe God wants you to have something better." Who knows us and what we need at the time we need than the wonderful God who created us, sustains us, and has saved us. "Jeff"

Thinking about Kids growing up in today's lifestyle and culture those of us who were born in mid-nineteen forties stand back and shake our heads. When I look back and think about life growing up as a kid: We had no childproof lids, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags, we drank water from the garden hose, we shared one soft drink with several friends, no one was able to find us all day, we didn't have cell phone, we had friends and hung out at the local hoagie shop, we traveled by shoe leather express, we fell out of trees, we sprained ankles, we didn't have play stations or Nintendos, no internet, no video games, we only had two channels on the TV, we had fights and got black & blue and learned to get over it, we took dares like eating worms, parents didn't always rescue us...if you got in trouble..you got out of it. Saying all this, I think life was a lot healthier growing up for most of us.

Another option to consider and think about. Stop....step back.....take a deep breath. When things seem to be falling apart, maybe it's because things are falling together.
What life has taught me from early on is that through forgiveness one is able to declutter ones emotions of anger, resentment, jealousy, and the everything "Me" attitude. A non forgiving spirit will bring misery into ones life that will destroy a life not create a healthy life.
It' sad to turn on the TV and see live pictures of the desolation, the physical, emotionional devestation caused by adverse weather conditions here in this country and countries throughout the world. The emotional scars leave an impact on so many lives not just here in the present but in the future. The intensity of diverse weather conditions throughout the world is not and should not be surprising to Christians throughout the world. As we look at Matthew 24:7 the last part Matthew writes of earth quakes in diverse places. I believe the last days prior to Jesus return began after his ascension. The intensity has increased since 1948 when Israel became a nation. Add all the signs of these ages and you will agree it's time to look up, to be actively engaged in making disciples, and doing acts of kindness with love to all people (including ourself) until the time Jesus comes for his church. In Christ, "Jeff"
One of the questions ask about grief is why do we have grief and the pain that goes with it? In my opinion we have grief because we have had a love relationship with that special person. When a loss is experienced it is with that love that that grief is experienced.
The older I get, the less I know — but I know some things: I know that I’m a work in process and that there will always be a gap between who I am and who I want to be. I know that I don’t have to be sick to get better and that every day brings opportunities to improve my life and my character. I know that it’s easier to talk about integrity than to live it and that the true test is my willingness to do the right thing even when it costs more than I want to pay. I know that character is more important than competence. I know that it takes years to build up trust and only seconds to destroy it. I know that I often judge myself by my best intentions and most noble acts, but that I’ll be judged by my last worst act. I know that I can’t control what will happen to me but that I have a lot to say about what happens in me. I know that pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional. I know that attitudes, both good and bad, are contagious. I know that winning is more than coming in first and that there’s no real victory without honor. I know that it takes a conscientious effort to be kind, but that kindness changes lives. I know that neither gratitude nor forgiveness comes naturally; both often require acts of will. I know that real success is being significant. I know that happiness is deeper and more enduring than either pleasure or fun and that I’m generally as happy as I’m willing to be. I know that the surest road to happiness is good relationships and that the best way to have good relationships is to be a good person.
