Depressed The rain falls steadily from the skies, Tears puddle and fill my eyes. There is no real reason to feel this way, Is it because it’s such a rainy day? The heart feels low, deeply hurt, As the rain puddles in the dirt. Dark clouds fill the sky above, Though you try, you don’t feel love. There are those you know at your side, Your face, from them, you hide. Their love for you, you know is real, But for some reason, that’s not how you feel. No matter where you look in your mind, Peace and love you do not find. Disappointment fills your broken soul, As soup would fill a broken bowl. It drips through the cracks and gathers on the floor, All you want to do is run out the door………. By: Bobby Gardner October 23, 1999
Mother’s fury , twist and turns tightly toward the sky, Men sit and watch in wonder but never ask why. Concrete ribbons wrap around the earth, Men wonder at why she never gives birth. Wolves run and take cover deep in the trees, Bears too seek refuse, no longer as they please. Man toils in vain, his blood covers the ground, No one hears the bells with true freedoms sound. Buffalo once roamed this land from sky to sky, Now only a few roam somewhere on the sly. Bothers of man, hear my cry of heartfelt pain, Slow yourself before you suffer from your gain. Give Mother back her flowers and trees, Allow the spirits of man to move as they please. Follow the spirits and totems of man, Follow them anywhere and everywhere you can. Look not to the future but study the past, If you’re not careful, evil spirits you’ll cast. Polluted waters should come clean with man’s tears, But it has not happened in all these long years. Man dies a thousand deaths with each passing day, We must stop this death, no longer should we play. Bobby R. Gardner 16 December 1997
CONFUSED The thoughts, intertwined, plunder through my mind, The answer to this, the answer to that, I can not find. Trees with green grass appear in my head, The visions of friends long time dead. I wonder in my head, what's the square root of three ? I know that I know, now let me see !!! That dress she has on sure is nice, Maybe I should tell her at least once or twice. Boy the weather is warm, it's hot today, Is there a ball game on ? Who do they play ? That couple looks good as they walk across the floor, And what's that that I see outside the door ? I wonder what I'll eat tonight when I get home ? Boy I need to straighten up, where's my comb ? Maybe I should stop now and lay down to rest, Yes, I think I should, that would be best. When your mind spins in circles like a top, It's hard to know when and where to stop..... By: Bobby R. Gardner August 23, 1996

The rolling hills of the mountain range, Makes the landscape look so strange. The morning mist and the soup thick fog, Is a pleasant change from the city smog. If you listen and be real still, You can hear the cries of ancient man still. He worked hard from the break of day, Until tired, down he would lay. Few pleasures were there to find, But for his life, he didn’t mind. Because of perils, he didn’t live long at all, He would lay and die where he did fall. Another would come, the body he would discover, But times were hard and man would recover. Hard work and toil was his reward, Little else could he afford. Now we stand were he stood, Little of him is really understood. Now we stand in his place, And look deep into outer space. Many will come as we have came, All things will remain the same. The waters, they will flow, Man continues on, never to slow. The skies will always be blue, I am me and you are you. By: Bobby Gardner August 1996
BRIGHT BLUE SKY The wind blows swiftly through the trees , The quiet sound of rustling leaves , Dark , ominous clouds fill the sky , Birds , although they try , can hardly fly . People scurry about , to and fro , A threat of rain , so hurriedly they go . Dreams of summer , not yet realized , Things of summer only visualized . The long dreary winter , soon to be dead , Spring smells dance through the head . Before we know it the heat will swelter , We'll hurry about to find cool shelter . We'll play about on beaches of sand , Together we'll be , hand in hand . At night we'll walk near oceans of blue , Together we'll be , me and you . The long winter will at last be at end , I'll still be with you , my closest friend . The love you give , your love for life , Has made you my loving wife . When my hair has grown white with age , When the years become too hard to gage , My love for you will continue to grow , Even though my steps may be awkward and slow . When my body is old , weak , and frail , Deep inside this tired old shell , My heart will beat with a love so strong , A love we both know was never wrong . If love was all that it really took , Then young forever we would look . The love we have , both you and I , Can always keep a bright blue sky . BY : Bobby R. Gardner May 28, 1997
Aug. 14 , 1997 How much do I love you ? How many stars are in the sky ? My love has no bounds ! How far does the sparrow fly ? In the farm lands wheat appears as golden seas , My love for you covers the fields as a summer breeze . Clouds cover and hover above the mountain peaks , My love for you is higher still , where my heart speaks . A river runs through the vally , a thing of beauty for sure , My love runs through our souls , from the heart , sweet and pure . A nightingale sits upon a limb , purity in the song , Being together is where our hearts belong . Ocean waves dance in , crashing against rocky shores , White , foamy sprays of water cover the rocky floors . The rocks and sands are dry compared to my love for you , My love covers the earth as does the morning dew . Blades of grass cover the fields , countless as the stars , The world is a smaller place with the endless number of cars , But my love will follow you , where ever you do roam , From the far reaches of space , or just down the street from home . Your eyes sparkle and shine as your heart gives love to me , An endless love , an undying love , just as it ought to be . By : Bobby R. Gardner
ANOTHER FAMILY The flowers are lined lined up the road, The faint sound of a croaking toad, Brings the quiet night alive with sound, The pale light of fireflies abound. The wind blows lightly down the lane, The stars shine brightly on a different plane, The moon smiles down full and bright, Giving romance throughout the night. He holds her hand tightly to his heart, Knowing they will never part. Her eyes tell of her love for him, As a squirrel dances on a limb. A new life has started in her womb, No more tears, no more glum, Through ages has the road been worn, So too, another family is born. By; Bobby R. Gardner December 25, 1996

ALONE The cars drive up and down the street, Steady they go, steady as a heart beat. Hundreds of people go on their way, But to me they have nothing to say. They can not look into my heart, They can not see what tears me apart. People walk by deep in their own thought, In their own lives they are caught. A friendly word every now and then, A friendly word from women and men. This is something I long to hear, Just a friendly word spoke into my ear. I'm not a monster, not ugly at all, I always come when in need you call. I enjoy life, I enjoy having fun, With me one would be happy when the day is done. But for some reason that I do not know, Alone in my life I continue to go. The years pass quickly and I grow old, This is no way to live I've been told. Alone in my life the time passes by, Alone in my life, I shall die...... By: Bobby R. Gardner August 21, 1996
The darkness settles clear and bright, You can see a million stars in this night. A queer peacefulness covers all the earth, As if we are about to witness some great birth. The night sky fills with a wondrous sound, As if there is singing all around. Sheep lay down to rest from the day, The sheppards watch as some continue to play. One star, bigger and brighter than all the rest, Seem to cause all the sheep to act their best. Is something up that we don’t know? The air is quite still, the wind doesn’t blow. An image appears before my frightened eyes, The figure, bright and beautiful, fills the skies. A voice I hear, spoken directly toward me, Says, “Fear not and I shall tell you what is to be.†“Tonight, this very night, not very far from here, A child is born, he shall end all your fear.†“Go now and follow that star, You won’t have to go all that far, You will see what God has done, As he gives you His very on Son.†I followed that star as I was told, And there in a crib, a sight to behold. Why was I chosen to look upon his face? There are so many better people in this human race. I know that after all of this, I shall know nothing but heavenly bliss. Listen to me, hear what I say, Find this child, find Him today. Look upon the purity of man, That God has given through his plan. God’s own Son is born unto us this day, Let us drop to our knees and pray. This child shall lead us into perfect salvation, No more will man know of starvation. This child shall keep us safe and free, This is a gift from God for you and me. By: Bobby Gardner December 25, 1998
