The very first Elvis song I remember was "Blue Suede Shows", in my older sister's collection, but one of the saddest songs that was one of my favorites was "In The Ghetto".
When we lived in GA, I belonged to a seniors center that was very actiive, they had a talent show once, and me and 3 other ladies danced to "Jail House Rock"...we actually borrowed authentic prison uniforrms, (the warden came to watch us in the show) we had a "jail" built up on stage, we drug a ball and chain that I had made us using a ball sprayed black, and black construction paper I had cut into strips, stapled together to look like links...we didn't even place, but we did get an "honorable mention" it was so much fun, and we worked on the dance skit to that song for several weeks...we all thought we'd win first place! I have photos, but they've deterioated in the heat while in storage for 15 yrs.
Love all of his song, but my 2 extra favorites are Merry, Merry Christmas Baby and Santa's Back in Town. They do sound like stripper songs ... maybe that's why they're my faves.
