As we settle into January, we are given time to reflect, rest, and be reassured that what lies ahead is something truly wonderful. Gray skies will be replaced by a painting only in its true form..provided by nature.
A lazy day here. Rain moves in tomorrow evening. Much warmer until Sunday..we'll see 44 then. Tomorrow and Saturday back into the 70's. Made cube steak in the crockpot yesterday, so leftovers this evening.
Hi Darlene. It’s almost 4pm Wednesday afternoon here. Current Temp 104f. The last few days were slightly less but tomorrow and Friday will be higher before a slight cool change on Saturday. Fortunately it’s a clear heat so reasonably bearable. Needless to say the aircon is in full mode.
Sounds like you had a nice quiet Xmas and new year and with lots of snow too. Now, that you would have enjoyed:). Mind you I don’t envy your hubby having to keep the walkway and driveway clear. That task would be endless and rather cold. Wow 13 inches is a lot of snow in such a short time.
Are you still turning on the Xmas lights?. I think everyone around here have taken theirs down now.
Yes I’m still having days being affected with hay fever symptons. I’ve never had it so bad as this past year. Thank goodness for Zirtec and tissues.
I went out to lunch last Sunday for my granddaughters birthday. It was a family gathering held at a restaurant in a town 16 miles S/E of here and not far from the area where I grew up. Lovely meal and great company.
I’ve recently set up my musical keyboard and gradually getting back into the swing of playing it again. I’ve almost forgotten my chords but it’s slowly coming back. I never really learnt properly and play by memory/ear. Used to do some entertaining back in the day. That is something I can do sitting on a chair. The Spinal Stenosis has become worse causing me to be very restricted in what I can do. I’m not one for watching much TV. It rarely goes on during the day. Just in the evening more as a background noise. I do occasionally stream a show or two. Hugs Pat.
Good Morning, Melinda. Nothing says weekend vibes like an artificial snow-hand holding a giant mug of coffee, while a cat--standing proudly on his hind legs--nestles up to the snow-woman with the kind of affection usually reserved for the chosen family.
May this coming year meet you gently, bring moments that make you smile without trying, and wrap you in peace on both the loud days and the quiet ones. Here’s to fresh beginnings, steady hope, and knowing you’re never walking into a new year alone. I'm eternally grateful for your friendship. -:)
As the new year begins, I find myself grateful for the gift of friendship—especially yours. May this coming year meet you gently, bring moments that make you smile without trying, and wrap you in peace on both the loud days and the quiet ones. Here’s to fresh beginnings, steady hope, and knowing you’re never walking into a new year alone. Happy New Year.. Lisa
Hello Melinda. Yes, I would like to have a drink with you to toast new year. Celebrated the night with the other people in our house who were still awake at nidnight, by watching the crystal ball drop at Time Square. As exciting as that was, I was more enthusiastic about having had our refrigerator repaired and working again the day before, so we could have food in the freezer and refrigerator again....I wish you a
What a to start a new year! My laptop has finally died, it wasn't the battery after all, but the motherboard. Sooo, I'm using my tablet (which I don't like) until I can get a new laptop! I hope your New Years start is a happy one!
Staying home..like always. We will visit a friend tomorrow..Had planned on visiting Marie today, but she's sick. Has congestion and cough. I'm going to check back on here this evening.
Hi Darlene. Well Xmas 2025 is fast becoming a memory. To be honest I’m always pleased when it’s over. The traditional Xmas’s are a thing of the past and it it’s all commercialised now.
How did you spend the day? What was your weather like. Did you have snow.
Here the day was a pleasantly mild 77f. I opted to spend the day quietly at home. My daughter and Granddaughter spent xmas eve here and cooked a hot turkey roast for dinner. Then on Xmas day my son who lives a short distance from here came with a plate of hot roast turkey, ham and vegetables. I had enough left overs to last me for several meals.
The past two days temps were over 100f but today it’s back down in the low 80’s. Yesterday, I was very effected with hay fever. Ended up by taking one and a 1/2 Zirtek and was still suffering. Much better today thank goodness. So far this summer has been quite mild but we will see what happens in January and february. They are usually our hottest months.
It’s New Years eve here and another year gone. I for one won’t be sitting up to see the new one arrive. Definitely past all that excitement.
I hope this new year will be a great one for you and your hubby. Lots love Pat.
Have a wonderful last day of the year Darlene .Im almost done with them goodies .lol
They came in handy. Got to the store today and i am stocked up for a good month.
It is supposed to snow tonight might get an inch of snow by morning.
What kind of drinks will you be having? I have almost a full bottle of Baileys which I hardly use and so i keep it in a small cabinet up top my refrigerator .
So i would need a stepstool to open that cabinet .
I graduated from high school in 1969 at the age of 17, so those muscle cars always made an impression on me! My first husband had a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner, that he would race over at Kenndale & Green Valley raceways, on certain days of the month, "street legal" cars were allowed to race against each other in quarter mile drag racing.. oh it was so much fun! He had headers, what was called "slick" tires, 383 V-8 motor, 5 "in the floor" gears, some kind of special carborator, (for racing) we had to drop out once gas prices rose to 20 cents a gallon! LOL! BOY I would LOVE to see those prices again!
The eagle puzzle was a Christmas gift to my husband from one of his coworkers, they know we work jigsaw puzzles.

Hey There Miss Deb - Liked the puzzles.. Nice of you to think of me.. I would love to have the car in black with silver strips around it.. Love those muscle cars.. Back in the early 70s, I remember how the guys would rev their engines going down main street and us girls would scream and laugh.. Such fun times.. I think the car puzzle would have been more difficult to do than the eagle.. I'm not really looking forward to the new year.. All it means for us Deb, is getting another year older and having more health issues.. I'd like to stay put for awhile.. Good night xx Darlene
Very windy today..a cold front blowing in tonight. I sure hope we don't see any more warm temps. Had a bit of rain overnight..checked the rain gauge and it was just below 1/2". Made chili yesterday..leftovers still.
