Hi Darlene. Thanks for the candy.Yum:) I’m not sure if that brand is available here. There’s lots of brands but I usually buy Cadbury or Nestle. When I do my two week shopping I always include a bar of chocolate and a packet of potatoe crisps (the original plain variety) I recon at my age I deserve them:). Nah! I’m not into Valentines Day. It’s only become popular here in the past 20-30 years. It’s what the modern generation want and the stores/ supermarkets make a fortune out of it. I’m still recovering from Xmas goodies. Plus the things that were luxuries in my younger days are now considered essential. I’m surprised that the supermarkets haven’t got Easter Buns on the shelves by now. They usually get them on soon after Xmas. They too, were a luxury/treat when I was younger. Now the same type of buns are available year round albeit known by a different name. I’d much prefer a loaf of Spicy sultana bread and toast it. Nice to learn that those frigid temps are over altho’ 24 ain’t exactly warm!. We get that temp during winter when the frosts set in. That’s when the gardens suffer but it also sets the fruiting trees and they grow well around here. Oh yes, We are having one of those extra hot summers. The past few weeks the temps have hovered between 100-114. Further north several of the towns reached 122f. The last few days have dropped back to the 90’s but rising again in the next week. No rain for months. Everything is very dry. According to the weather map we are to get rain at the end of the month but when I see it I’ll believe it. Yes, the winter Olympics are shown here. I used to watch it but not this year. It comes over a wee bit late at night now for me. Mind you I’m usually sitting up in bed reading well into the night. Those cheeseburgers sound nice. I’m thinking I may make a toasted cheese sandwich for supper:). Have a lovely weekend Darlene. Hugs, Pat.
We've decided to dine kut for an early lunch on Saturday..going to Cracker Barrel in Charlotte. It's 7 miles down the road. I always enjoy checking out their merchandise as well. Hopefully they'll have a good sale on some things. It was a busy week. Have several appointments next week. We visited Marie this afternoon. Enjoy Valentine's Day -:)
Been a busy week..had a few appts..more next week. Not sure if we will be eating out or not this weekend. Still have the Cracker Barrel gift card. Hubby is doing really well. He sees reg Dr next Tuesday and on Thursday incisions get checked. We've had some mild temps, but looks like rain on Sunday. Hope you've had a good week.
Merry Monday, dear Darlene! Pretty V'tines page! I'm so glad you got snow and a winter wonderland. As by some intervention, we got absotively none from that huge system because the Gulf aimed its warm temps right at us and kept all snow away. Not missing the ice, however. Poor souls that had to deal w/that. Hope you are doing well, sweet friend. His surgery will be scheduled this week, allowing us to see further down the road. Things have been no long & slow. Take care of yourself... Love ya! ♥
The sun is so very bright, not a cloud in the sky. To be a tad warmer today. Hows your weather? Treasure each blessing today brings, friend! *hugs* -di
Hello Melinda. Where have all the conversation candy hearts gone? They aren't on the store shelves here this year. I read online there were complaints to the company about the flavors not being all that good. And a spokesman for the company said it would try to do better. In the meantime, I miss all those cute comments on the hearts, most of which were sweet. I didn't care much about the flavors, I couldn't taste much difference between them anyway. I hope they bring out a new improved candy heart soon.
Good morning. Pretty page! I'm with you: I hate cold weather. But our area is now expecting 45-60 degrees (F) this coming week. I can accept that. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
I love your Valentines page Darlene!...it's going to be a beautiful weekend for us! AND I get to start back to walking out around the lake...doctor said I need to do that now to see how well my knee will hold up after my surgery.
Hello Melinda. We got a foot of snow out of Saturday's blizzard. The streets are in fair condition---there's a lot of closed businesses today. The only way we got to a supermarket was in the four wheel drive vehicle of a person who lives with us. I feel sorry for the poor groundhog rudely awakened from his sleep. And I really don't believe he can predict an early spring. Six more weeks of winter is what I expect. Maybe, in two more days the residential streets will be ready for the mail carrier and delivery trucks. And I'm hoping we can run our errands and have appointments again, as is normal.
Hello Melinda. We had a simple dinner of hamburgers and potatoes for dinner last night. We are awaiting the snowfall expected to arrive sometime this morning. The supermarkets barely had a chance to restock from ice storm weekend, before the crowds came out again to shop for snowfall weekend. And it's cold, much colder than winter is usually forecast to be, even in January.
Thank you Melinda!! I have had alot of computer& McAfee popups until, very hard for me to get on and do my messages! Do be safe and enjoy your weekendmy friend! Hugs Shirley
