Hi Darlene! we had storms (LOUD thunder, lots of lighting too)since 2:30 this morning & got 2" of rain, looks like we won't be getting any more for a while... I hope you have a wonderful day my friend.
Hi Darlene! yes it was a great thanksgiving meal, we had a whole fried turkey and a smoked turkey breast, that was really good, green bean casserole, sweet potatoe casserole, homemade dressing, cranberry sauce and rolls...also there was an apple, and pumpkin pie, and pumpkin cheesecake bars...that's what we all ended up eating for dessert, they were soo good! we just stayed a couple of hours, had a great visit with my grandson and his girlfriend. Had to drive home on country roads in the dark...LOL that part was scary, watching out for deer no, I have an apple laptop, and an apple desk computer with a big screen. We started out with Dell computer, and windows, we used it until the newer version of Windows was no longer able to download into it, (the computer was too old) but the virus protection we kept having to purchase never seem to work as well as they profess to, and the computer would have to go into a computer place to be "cleaned"...more than we really thought it should, so we decided to buy an apple computer, it took a while to get used to the difference of not having "windows" but once we did, we never bought another brand of computer...it was well worth the money, we don't have problems with viruses since switching either.
Hi there Deb - Glad you got to have Thanksgiving dinner, even though it was early.. Better early than never, huh! Did you have the traditional TG meal with all the trimmings? What kind of pie do you like for TG? Some people like to go with the traditional pumpkin pie.. I prefer berry pies the best, especially blueberry and I also like pecan pie.. We're eating out on Thursday.. Bob Evans is having a special Thanksgiving meal, so we've decided to go there for dinner.. Do have a Windows 11 computer yet? If so, how do you like it? Is it a lot different from 10? I've been thinking of getting a new computer for Christmas, so I've been wondering.. xx Darlene
We're thinking about Cracker Barrel..they' have two locations close by, about 7 miles away....one in Charlotte, other in Gastonia. I always like shopping in their store too. I'm making gingerbread cookies next week. (Keto version of course) had to order the cookie cutters online, but they come tomorrow.
80 degrees here...so crazy..but it is what it is. Been working in the home office some today still. Trim work on windows and flooring is complete. Hopefully we will be moving furniture in later this week; no later than next weekend. Send cool air here please.
Hi Darlene! we're having our Thanksgiving get-together this afternoon at my daughters & son-n-law's house, my grandson and his girlfriend will be there..(he's a cop, so he'll be working on Thanksgiving day) my son-n-law will be deep frying the turkey! I'm so excited!
Hello friends, its a busy time of year for us all. Such a busy week for me so haven't been keeping up with comments. Have a blessed holiday with family and friends. 💛💚
We're covered in acorns everywhere. Blew them off the porch and walkway earlier this morning. We are through raking leaves. What's left on the ground will stay. The squirrels shouldn't go hungry this winter. It's warming up here, yet again. 76 tomorrow through Friday. But we've had some chilly mornings. My lantana bush by front porch got frost bit last week, so I'll be cutting it down later today. Not sure of we will see snow anytime soon or not. The mountains got some earlier last week..just an hour NW of us.
Hi Darlene! I hope you had a great weekend, we have done 4 300 piece puzzles so far...my sister-n-law Connie does those, then sends them to us..we save them up until we have quite a few then do them, afterwards we donate them...
I hope you enjoy the weekend Darlene! we're going to be working on a few 300 piece Christmas puzzles that was given to us, so we can donate them to Goodwill by next week.
Hi, my friend, Darlene. So glad you got that snow! Do you take pics w/your phone? If so, pls send one:) Re: pies, its a draw between cherry and pumpkin for my favorite. I love cobblers, too, cherry being the winner there ~ probably cuz I've neva heard of a pumpkin cobbler. haha Our generation had wonderful g'mothers!! They were such great memory-makers. Love ya... keep smiling, pal! *hugs*
U.S. Thanksgiving day's near; much to do for many of us. If entertaining, have you decided on your menu? We always had pretty much the same each year. Enjoy decorating, setting your fancy table and all the loved ones around it. *hugs*
Back to the 70's this weekend. Getting the flooring installed this weekend in front room. Hopefully, we'll start on the living room next. Got haircut yesterday. Color n cut early January. When I drove back home yesterday, saw more new homes. Our town has been destroyed. The traffic is so bad now, I don't even want to leave the house. But at least my current hairdresser is just 2 miles down the road. What's in store for your weekend?
Hi Darlene! I've been having so much trouble with my right knee, it's been a year now since the pains and trouble with walking started. I've had physical therapy on it, three injections for the arthiritis that did not really help, then dealing with the injury of my left foot, finally got most of that healed up, but the right knee is getting worse, so my doctor finally said it's time to see an orthopedic doctor, so after waiting a week to hear from that doctor's office, I now have an appt on Nov 25th...but with my age, there may be nothing they can do to really help ease the pain and damage, (according to the MRI I had done of my knee last year, I also had a meniscus tear, the doctor chose to just concentrate on the arthritis, I guess that was the easiest for him)...I am thinking about getting a cane to help ease my walking.... anyway, that's the latest on me...I hope all is well with you..
