Cooler temps here still..68 currently..we've had over 4 1/2" rain since yesterday. This time next week it will return to low 90's. Today, out hot water heater went out. A month ago we had to replace plumbing lines. When it rains it pours. Our home was built in 1955. Lived here 30 years. Praying no more major repairs anytime soon.

Hi Darlene. Just dropping by for a quick chat. I took a small break for personal reasons but am back getting into the swing of things again. Hope your weather has improved for you and the cooler days have set in. It continues to be a very mild dryish winter in our state. Not good for folk on the land considering we are in our last month of winter.

Many of you know about how I was caring for my mother in law for a long time...She is now in a senior living home..Her memory is bad but they haven't put her in memory care yet because she is still able to care for herself..Today I decided to tell her that her best friend since she was a teenager was in the same facility..But she is in the memory care..not so much because of her memory as she is no where near how my mother in law is...but because she tried to "escape" every time they let the door open..memory care is locked..I was not sure how it was going to go. My mother in law was hesitant to go see her and seemed she wasn't sure who this woman was I was telling her about..but she let me take her down to where her friend was..as soon as she saw her friend sitting there with others she knew who she was..for the moment..We spent a short while in her friends room and it was so nice..I wanted to share this day with my friends on Boomer because so many of you know of my story..I talked to my mother in law on the phone tonight to see if she remembered what she did today..and she said..I went to see that lady...and it makes me smile..So all in all it worked out well..Have a nice evening everyone..the one with the red colored shirt is my MIL..she will be 91 soon..
We've gotten 2" rain since Tuesday,,still hot and muggy..one more day of heat and we'll see a break this weekend. Low 80's sounds divine. Maybe August will bring permanent fall temps..we can hope. Actually read that this was the case a few days ago. Been cleaning today..laundry is done..supper is prepped. I'm tired -:) ...so here I am catching up here. Enjoy the rest of your week. Lisa
hello Darlene! I hope your day is going well! I cleaned out my hummingbird feeder and made fresh nectar for them, that's about the only thing I want to do outside...it's just too hot, we do have a chance of "rain" by Thursday...LOL we will see!
Good day..another scorcher temp wise..we had a heat index yesterday of 102. We've broken records back to 1986 per our local weather guru. If we can make it till Friday, much cooler weather is on the horizon. I did walk around the house this morning while there was a breeze in the air. The kitties saw me and here they came. They like to stay in the back yard by creek area. I'm going to try and see our mail delivery person when they come this afternoon, so to give them bottled water. They have no ac in their vehicles. Have a good week and we will keep counting down the days till September..
good morning my friend! here it is the last few days of July, and the hottest days for us...one more month of heat that feels like an oven, then, we can finally look forward to the days coolng down. I hope you have a wonderful Monday! I worked on changing my page (all weekend it seems! LOL!) and finally got it to where I'm happy with it. I forgot how long it takes to create a look!

I don't know if I'll do a more autumn themed one next, Darlene, or do one for Halloween! LOL! I wanted to design my own page this time, I did the 4th of July, but gee willikers, I'm a lot slower at that these days, I got lazy over on NOTH....it was just so much easier using premade layouts...

Hi Darlene! it's been yucky hot here too, and I've mainly stayed inside the house which is boring LOL! I got out with my daughter yesterday morning, but made my foot angry, so I was in pain a lot, and made shopping miserable for me, however I did get me a pretty bottle to keep olive oil in...I will be watering my plants out in the backyard this morning, the grass is almost done for, but still trying to keep my wild violets, morning glories, gladiola's and jasmine vines alive.
