Cloudy here today, but 89. I worked outside this morning briefly..trimming back a mum..refilled feeders, and cleaned out one of the hummingbird feeders. I actually saw my first hummingbird a few days ago. They'll be flying back home probably end of next month. Our local forecast shows 8 days coming up straight through (starting this weekend) where we will reach 100 degrees .. Fall can't come soon enough. I'll be dreaming of cooler days and looking forward in packing up summer wardrobe.
Hey, Darlene:) If we are keeping comfortable at home, we're accomplishing much, right? They sling out heat alerts several times a day, so much so that I've turned off my phone... the things are so loud they startle me. I think I've had 2 perms in my life. I used to have thick, full-bodied hair that had a tinge of my mother's curl. Now, it would be wise to begin getting perms, but as you say, to spend so much time getting it done will continue to keep me away from it. I'm so thin on top... I need to rethink the whole thing. :) Hope you're feeling good, pal. Still looking so farward to October. C'mon!!! *hugs* -di
Mondsy has arrived, and yet another high heat week. They're saying rain chances around 3 pm..Not holding my breath. Staying indoors today. Maybe do a few errands tomorrow. Enjoy the new week ahead...-:)
Good Night, Melinda. The heat is overwhelming. It's constant and we have until late September till it's tolerable again, at least to me. I'm anticipating the cool breezes and falling leaves showering us with a color show.
Hi, pal. We're done w/appmts this week. Heart doc next week. He'll see if they want to implant a defibrilator. How are you and your DH? They keep warning us a temps higher than show up. I think the nearby foothills protect us somehow. I'm not complaining. I hear thunder approaching. We've not had rain in 3 days. Wow! :) Take care, Darlene. -di
Hello Melinda. I would love to focus on something other than the heat of summer. It's going to be in the 90s here, everyday for all of July and August. Then the temperatures gradually go down.
Just for you, Darlene, because you were kind enuff to send me some beautiful snow that cooled me off for a few minutes:) Countdown continues, pal!! Luvya!!
Good day Darlene..another overcast day here. The storms passed over us yesterday..just a few drops of rain fell. Folks in central NC got hammered.major flooding there. We cooled down from 96-76 after that system went over here. Not much going on today..tomorrow, have a few errands to do if it doesn't rain in the am.
coffee was very good this morning...I needed it! Had my MRI done on my left foot earlier this morning, funny thing, while my foot was gettiing zapped, the nerves were being aggrevated by the magnet that is used in those machines...gosh it made my foot hurt so badly, and I had to be real still while the machine was on... but it's done, I'm back home watching REBA reruns, foot propped up with ice on it...it'll be a week before the results are in.. hurry up and wait! LOL!
Hello Melinda. Your rose page looks a little different. These roses are lovely too. Yes, I am the drinker of carbonated beverages in the morning, or any other time. "Wrapped in flush and hush, love speaks softest in a cuddle." Good Night, Melinda.
we got rain this morning, the same system that brought the catastrophic flooding in Kerr County and the part of Texas known as the Hill country. So many people, adults as well as children have lost their lives during the severe rains and flooding, even away from the camps, there were homes swept off they foundations, cars with people in them trying to evacuate...it's a sad time here for us Texans. If you are a praying person, please lift one up, (or a few) if not, just send out positive thoughts...thank you
Hello Darlene. Well, not much going on here at the moment. We are still waiting for that elusive rain. The long range forecast doesn’t show much. Most days are overcast with heavy cloud cover but nothing comes of it. I took my little dog to the vet last Thursday for her Cartrophen injection to help with her joints. It certainly does help her. She is well over 15 years so is doing very well. While there I booked them both in for a bath and groom next Wednesday. I hope the temps have cooled down for you now. Also hope it hasn’t been too unpleasant for you. Enjoy your weekend. Hugs Pat.
Hello Dear Summer.. It's miserably hot and humid here.. It just came on us so fast last week.. Have no idea where it came from, but it can go back to where ever it came from.. Never want to see it again.. How's about sharing some of that raspberry cake with me.. lol.. hugs to you
Yes Sweet Sweet Moongirl.i WILL SHARE anything with you .i think we both need an ice lolly pop.Its been in the 90s here too .and i must admit .En]#vcen for a sun lover like me ,unbearable.its in the 80s now for a few days so that at least is more comfortable. my garden is taking so much looking after to stop the drout from killing everything ,its sure been a labour of love to keep it all watered ,whewwww!!!!!
my stepdaughter brought us a puzzle when she came to visit us a couple of weeks ago. It was sealed inside a bag, but no box, or picture was with it. We started it last night, with no idea what it would look like..or size of it. We started thinking it was going to be hard, but we are almost 3/4 of the way finished. I think it's 750 pieces, it's not big enough for a 1,000 piece puzzle.
Good Morning Melinda. I plan on being home for the 4th, Most likly working in my yard, weather permiting. and I cn watch the fireworks in town from my front porch
