Hi Darlene my gate is actually a metal fence and as i pop out my back door its not too far like maybe 10 feet away from my back door. I used aluminum silver pain to paint it . Those birds are all around because they know i toss peanuts. It is very hard now to actually feed the squirrels like i used to .
I can throw a small pile now right near my door (close) But the squirrel he grabs a couple and he takes off aways to munch lol
So while he`s munching ,the birds are coming and glom up them peanuts super fast .
The nest most of the whold day in my neighbors bush and they are all over the place . If i tossed a handful out towards the driveway those peanuts would be off the ground in less than 5 seconds .
They must be starving and i cant afford to keep feeding these birds .
It seems like both the birds and squirrels never get filled up .
I had to get a plastic container DEans Dip container . I put in a couple of holes in that container and got some string then i tied up that dip container below the fence i painted so it stays in place .
Then i go to it to drop a half a handful of nuts in there.
The birds don`t go to that very much so now the squirrel can have his nuts lol But its hard if other squirrels are around .
Those birds are a pain and they leave their bird poop all over .Yes even my nice painted gate .
Vinegar and water does the trick removing that birdy poop .
Or i can just use the hose there are tons of them birds thats for sure..
A Saturday can be many things... a day for working, groceries, cleaning, visiting, game-day. However you spend it, be safe and wear a smile, Darlene. Just wait, we'll be smiling for sure around Dec-Feb?? *hugs* -di
stopping by to say hello and wish you a wonderful weekend! We're supposed to have a rainy one, I'll be working on a fall jigsaw puzzle, reading my new novel, a Halloween theme diamond art piece, oh and laundry! LOL!
Hello Melinda. Happy September with it's promise of good things to come. I do remember you telling me about your countdown. I wait until hurricane season is over at the end of November to feel safe from summer weather woes. It was during a September that Charlotte and the metro area took a direct hit from Hurricane Hugo. Forecasters told us it was not going to hit us, but it did. And there was no time to prepare for impact. I will never forget it.
September has arrived...and with it, cooler temps here..at least the mornings are feeling like Fall. Three more weeks and we will be welcoming Autumn's entrance. It was 62 here this morning. Looks like 80's all week...rain chances late Wednesday/Thursday. Have a wonderful new week ahead..
