CRYSTALLINE MORNING MAGICAL
Greeted by the warmth of the morning sun flooding my senses and enveloping my soul, crystalline refractions, morning orbs green and gold, dancing before me and infused by the sun as mesmerized by their power, my imagination is drawn into their magic as I contemplate this day.
And transfixed by this scene so hypnotic and rare, I can only watch in amazement as the sun caresses each one, each corner and face and curve coming to life; each one a tiny glimpse of the world in front of me. And in these moments, within this magical glow, I see the beauty and the wonder out there to behold where all things are possible and where the dreams of my morning and the dreams of my day within my imagination simply carry me away.

Just one more from me today as I try to catch up with myself as well as with you . . . . ~barb~

TOWARD TOMORROW
Standing upon the brink of a future beyond what I can't even begin to imagine, the morning fills my heart with love, laughter, and song, the music sweeter with time's passing, the melody delicate though strong as rejoicing within the breezes of early morning, my spirits lifted as they have begun to falter; my dreams rekindled as I look forward to dancing across the stage of today with no regrets, no second thoughts, no looking back.
And with the dawn I can now see a new day, a new life, tomorrow's light, stepping away from what was and into the bright light of what will be.

I share this here for the "fun" it was to try to use the word "logorrhea" in a sentence. Still chuckling about that as one of the already-challenging "prompts" . . . . I'm always glad to be able to share a smile or a chuckle with you. ~barb~

(Hard, 2pts): use the word logorrhea in a sentence

CAROUSEL DREAMING
Around and around and around we spin, our carousel horses painted in colors so bright as they transport us away on this springtime afternoon to a place that we dream of when the time is just right. It doesn't take too long to get from here to there where we can spend some time seeing the world through children's eyes once again. And while we're still there we can recapture them still, those feelings of joy we had when we were kids, before life interfered and got in the way, obscuring our view of the life that we knew, before logorrhea became the norm of the day, replacing clarity of speech with verbose obscurity, as the meanings of things once clearly understood became lost in the words, never more to be found.
And as we return to reality's door, our carousel dream having come to an end, we step back into our life as it was when we left, but bringing back just a bit of the paradise that we thought we had lost.

ON THE TABLE
Bringing to the table as much as I can see, sharing the world that I see around me, the sights and the sounds that have altered my mood; that have brought me some peace that have smoothed the rough edges of my heart and my soul.
And within the purview of all that I see, the mountains, the deserts, the sky and the trees. And occasionally there though often buried deep within, inside where very few can see or are even allowed in, what resides within my heart touched so often by the words that I read, the things that I see, the world around me.
And a sense of calm infuses my heart as each morning begins and I welcome the day.

IN QUIET WHISPERS
I hear it all around me, sometimes so subtle and quiet that I miss it if I'm not listening carefully, that tender sound of love that isn't always apparent unless I stop for a moment, to that language of love so very often spoken in quiet whispers.
But I hear it in the sweet songs of the birds that have finally returned to my garden after their winter holidays; I hear it as the snow melts and winter finally begins to release its grip on our hearts so ready for the warmth of spring. And I hear it in the joyful sounds of families enjoying time together as the gray clouds depart and give way to the blue skies and sunshine of a spring afternoon.

EVENING PEACEFUL
I come to this place seeking peace in my soul. And as the sun's final rays caress the mountaintops, bidding farewell to the day, the whispering breezes of evening's muted light work sweet magic upon my weary heart, breathing new life and renewed peace into what often lays dormant under the bright light of day. And for a few moments I hear the song of the nightingale from the tallest tree as I sense the rustling of the leaves beneath my feet. And I can almost hear the moon rising up from behind the mountains as the sweet melodies of evening begin to bring peace to my heart.

FRIDAY BYWAYS WITH BARBARA K ALONG A PEACEFUL BYWAY OF SPRING
BYWAYS #21 -- (Posted 4-21-11)
Welcome to "Byways" this week as we take a little breather from the stresses of tax time and so many of the other rather unsettling things we can't help but see on the news every day.
Spring has certainly sprung in a lot of ways this week with more topsy-turvy weather. As much as I enjoy the Spring, it seems that the weather can always keep us a bit on edge.
One of the places I love to go to find a bit of peace and quiet is the pond -- any pond.
I always manage to find a place there to sit

and just watch what's happening and clear my mind for a bit.

For me there's almost nothing like watching the ducks paddling about

and the turtles sunning themselves on the nearest log

and my favorite night heron catching a tasty snack

and finding a zen garden and contemplating the lilies.

There is always so much to see when I really set my mind to looking and what I see makes me forget, at least for a little bit, some of the other things that manage to preoccupy me.

And many have expressed it so eloquently:
"All my work is much more peaceful than I am."
~Maya Lin~
"If in our daily life we can smile, if we can be peaceful and happy, not only we, but everyone will profit from it. This is the most basic kind of peace work."
~Nhat Hanh~
"You cannot find peace by avoiding life."
~Virginia Woolf~
"Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal."
~Dr. Martin Luther King~
"Maybe we should develop a crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air, explode softly and send thousands, millions of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth boxes of crayolas and we wouldn't go cheap either, not little boxes of eight. boxes of sixty-four, with sharpener built right in, with silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination."
~Robert Fulghum~
"We do not inherit the earth from our fathers. We borrow it from our children."
~David Bower~
"Peace is a gift. It is a gift we give to ourselves. And then to each other."
~Richard Goode~
"We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, We make our world."
~Buddha~
..
I hope you will come back and share with us some of the things that bring a sense of peace into your life.
I always look forward to spending this time here with you and to what you will share with us.

AMID THE THORNS OF SPRING
Amid these beds of thorns, too dangerous to hold,
 explosions of color so very bright and bold; such a treat for my senses if only for a short time;
delightful distractions with each and every step through this garden of springtime where I never quite know exactly what I'll find as I walk along this path.
But one thing I do know as I wander through these gardens each day, whatever I see there will be a delight in every way.

THOUGHTS FROM AN EMPTY PAGE
Standing upon the edge of today and looking forward toward tomorrow's light, I sometimes struggle to find the words to express exactly what I want to say, to find my voice, to get it just right. So I look at this page in front of me, so empty of words as it reflects back to me, so blank and so big. And in the darkness of morning before the sun has even had a chance to shine and before the birds have begun their sweet symphony of song, I begin to hear them, to feel their embrace, as the words begin to dance across pages of yesterday and beyond, the words that I've read, the ones that I've heard, words of faith that comfort my soul; words of hope that caress my emotions; words of joy that put a smile on my face. And finally my own words begin to come to me, a faint tapping at first upon the windows of my heart, as I begin to find them in what the day will be, the possibilities, the choices, the paths ahead; and I find them in the garden, the flowers of spring, the butterflies as they dance; and I find them in the skies, the birds soaring so high, the sun as it greets my day and in the way it says good night; in the moon taking me with her from sunset to tomorrow's light. And the words that I struggled so very hard to find have found their way to my heart and to an empty page without much help from me.
