I look at the trees outstretched to the skies
their branches caressed
by the winds passing by
The wind gently whispers a message to me
we are one with the planet
you and I and the trees
we are one with the creatures
of the land and the sea
And Mother Earth sustains us
with her planetary gifts
of the sun and the rain
the moon and the stars
she offers abundance
a place to grow
to reap the benefits
of the seeds we sow
in love and respect for each other
In knowing
that every living thing on this planet
is my sister or brother

as a strawberry

crescent bouquet

blossoms within my palm

wistfully weeping..

Your love was never parallel

to mine,

as mine curved

between petals,

from root to stem,

                         WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS

As I look at the land I’ve always called home
realization hits, this is where my beginning was sown
the meadows stretched out before me so vast
an impulse, I cannot stay for it’s the land of my past

Though pain would arise if I broke this bond
curiosity born, a sudden wonder of lands beyond
intrigue arises from the depths of my heart
feelings uncovered, with my past I must part

A gentle breeze brings many memories so sweet
hesitation,  do I know the right path for my feet?
doubt streams into the empty corners of my mind
unsure destiny, in a new land, what might I  find?

A yellow butterfly lands on my sun burned nose
fluttering hope, I’ll walk where the river flows
I will follow the message of my heart’s voice
my destiny, I'll know, I'm given a choice..
