MONDAY 2012-03-19
Woohoo again! lolol Yesterday was another one of those days! Oh yeah!
WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME!
I'm still giggling. I love nature in all its facets!
Ok now, down to business. Yesterday was one of GCutter's scheduled work days. Beautiful day for outside work... so we sat on the front porch and discussed what needs to be done (clean up/pick ups in the yard) and what I'd like to get done.
or
http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/972800-2-12-Spring-blossoms-3-19 ... was sopping wet from more rain...nah, really? lolol We discussed how to block the bottom of the fence... Would you believe I have two small furry escape artists living with me? Much discussion but no materials. OK, we'll take care of that down the road a piece.
Pond... oh yeah, the toad-frog pond out front. Well, GC decided to work on the pond. Where's the pump... I go find the pump. It's hiding on the closet shelf in the easel room. Extension cord (heavy duty). Clay pot which is going to act as a fountain waterfall. Tubing for the waterfall. Four sections of rebar...left over chicken wire (to keep the deer from eating my lilies and lotus)... cutters... sledge hammer... Still more...
or
http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/972797-2-12-GCutter-at-pond-3-19 ... telephone wire to stabilize the metal stand which holds the pot. Looked all over the house for a spray thingy from another pond pump. Found it! Then I needed to find some sealer... to glue the plastic tubing in an upright position. I have several tubes, different colors, on a shelf in the basement. Still with me? lolol
Ok, so now I have the sealer... where is the gun? GC looked... I went thru everything in the house. I can, in my mind, see that gun with a tube of sealer still in it... on a shelf. Somewhere... WHERE?????
Never did find that damned sealer gun! We made do with what we had. Sheesh! Got all that work done... GC buried the cords. Critters immediately tried to dig it up... I had to get out the BB pistol and threaten mayhem! Just rattle the gun and critters do a 'heads up!' The MOM is upset! Oh, before the cord was buried, GC plugged pump in... no electric! Sheesh! I'd forgotten that I'd left the breaker off...
Ok, so now we have electric... Plug everything in ... we are sprinkling flowers three feet from the east side of the pond. Hmmmmm... reset everything... BINGO! I finally had to remove the sprinkler head...too much back pressure. GC did a really good job... I cheered him on (read that I gave him a hard time, non-stop) Funny part was the toad-frogs watched him for the longest time... then swam closer to see what he was doing. lolol I cracked up... I started whistling 'Loredo' and my boyfriend shows up.
Boyfriend refused to sit in the maple tree... too close to the stranger in his yard. I started giggling again! Mockingbird (to be known as Mbird from now on) finally landed at the end of the driveway. The toad frogs were singing and romancing. GCutter kept mumbling something about Paula's Fantasy world. Still trying to figure out what he meant by that... lololol I finally totally lost it and howled hysterically! Funnier yet, I could hear my lafter echoing off the hill sides around me.
I am having the best time!
Take care all of mine... go in safety always. Remember if you can only find one of your slippers/shoes... look under the nearest sleeping dog!
Many hugs, much love... and oodles of lafter every day... meems Ps. I hope the pix come out ok... don't know why they aren't transferring properly. I haven't changed a thing... hugs

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY ALL OF MINE!
I have to tell y'all that I've been outside for a couple of hours. A special trip to the mail box... IRS tax papers soon to be on their way. (I lost my patience with me. I made more mistakes with that dagoned pencil... eraser was old and bad. I couldn't find a decent one anywhere in the house.) Now, you just watch. As soon as the maleman picks up the envelope, I'll trip over dozens of usable erasers...
OK, so I'm out front... standing in the middle of the driveway... checking the skies.. Yup, yup, I saw a few of my BBSBs sewing the fluffier clouds together... I got flashed.. That started my giggle fit! lolol I staggered over to Tildy and dropped her tail gate. I'm not so apt to fall over if I have some part of Tildy in my hands. lolol
I listen for more of mine up there and I hear a chirp behind me. I look around and there is another one of my boyfriends' sitting in the bare maple tree. A very neat and trim Mockingbird. He's visited me before but he usually stands at the end of the drive way. I start talking to him... greetings and all that morning stuff. Then I hear another sound... not a bird.
The sounds are coming from the small pond out front. How bout a herd of toad-frogs. Tis the season for singing. I slowly walk to the edge of the pond. Talking quietly to all as I walk. So I get to the side of the pond... (Remember the Black Eye pond?) Some of the critters dive the others stay floating on the surface.
I am still talking softly to birds and beasties... Frogs surface... start singing... little throats all puffed up and vibrating to their own personal renditions of the mating songs.
Mbird is still in the tree watching all the goings on... I started whistling the 'streets of Loredo' to mbird. He's listening, the frogs have gotten very quiet. They start swimming to my side of the pond. I keep whistling and with no warning, the frogs start singing along with me. I am serious here. One particular note would set them off... and I would crack up...
Have you any idea how stupid that must look and sound to the watcher out back?
Anyway, I finally came back in, heated up some coffee and then headed for the back porch... I have a hammock chair out there... swings and it's very comfy.
OK, so I'm sitting there... I hear 3 shots … one from a small cal pistol - two from a small cal rifle. Sound coming from the hill behind me. A little bit later, I hear an atv moving around over there.

In the mean time, Shadow has discovered how much fun it is to climb down into the big pond. He splashed, and pawed, and stuck his head back into the reeds, and chased sumfin up the near bank. Then, he'd come flying up the back steps, head directly for me. (you know what's coming, don't you?) Look MOM... LOOK! OMG! I now have chocolate freckles all over me... clothes, shoes, chair, hair and all! Off he'd go again on a repeat. lolol
Off and on during this performance by the red rotten dog, I would be whistling Loredo. During the pauses, I heard the Mbird, who had now moved out back, starting to sing the first few notes. I got hysterical! I wonder what the hillside hunter thot... I know darned good and well he could hear me. I think I am running out of room... and I do have more words... Well, ratz!
Take care all of mine... go in safety... Remember to always wear all weather gear when you have a young lab running around the house and yard.
Many hugs... much love... and lots of lafter meems
2012 EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS posted 33 minutes ago, updated 9 minutes later 2011-5-19... I THINK THIS IS THURSDAY OR MAYBE IT ISN’T… 2012-3-8
WELCOME HOME,DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME
It’s 0500 in the morning and I should know which day it is? I don’t think so. Get in here and grab a cuppa or sumfin… Fried biscuits? Blackberry jam? No calories in the last two… Would these lovely greens lie…make sumfin up? (blink, wink, nudge, nod?) I’m starting to giggle already..
Gots to tell you… Sunday morning, Grasscutter came out and took me to the grocery store, the dollar store and the SUBWAY. (yes, we have a Subway… lolol it’s at the far end of the Apple Market. Don’t’ ask!) We drove 40 miles one way thru some serious snow flurries. I looked out the windows at the grocery store and couldn’t see the far end of the parking lot. The snow was coming down so hard. The wind was taking it straight across the lot. None of this gentle, softly falling snow… thank you very much!
Ok, so we get all the stuff in the back of Tildy and start home. I have to admit it was scary in spots. There’s one place about half way, steep slope, no guard rails and a sharp curve to the left just below the crest. We made it tho. Unloaded the groceries and got them put away. I asked GC if he had time to run the puter phone line to the living room so I could bring the lap top in here. Well, he heads out to the kitchen… got into the tool box looking for drill bits. I hunted down the hammer drill. Then we went down to the basement. Figured out where the joists were. You know, all the goodie stuff that you definitely don’t want to hit with an electric drill. Any way, while I was under the puter table in the apartment, GC went down in the basement to grab the ext wire. (there’s a hole in the apartment floor where the heat vent used to be. Very handy that opening!) I am under there pushing a 50 foot section of telephone cable , coiled no less, down the hole. GC in the basement yelling more slack. Me under the table trying to untangle the wire! Still with me? Now, here comes the good part. !
While I was rooting around under the table I found more doggie stashes stashed. Hands full of bones, plastic lids and unstuff! OK, I clean that up while I am flat on the floor. Have I mentioned I am getting a little old (horrible word) to run around stretched out flat on the floor… Not to mention, if you ain’t careful, you will cracked your skull on the underside of the table. Me wriggling out from under is not a pretty sight at the best of times.
Back to ‘running the wire… lolol
Let me digress here for a moment. Have I mentioned recently that I hate dogs. Big, little, middle sized… I hate dogs!
Well, I go out to the living room, limping and rubbing my back and the top of my skull. (yup, I sure did!) Go into the living room and start cracking up! (Keep in mind here that the furniture had to be moved to get to the right section of flooring.)
How bout some critter, who shall remain nameless, had a stash of unstuff behind the loveseat? Oh yeah,… paper towels and the cardboard cylinders! From now on, I am going to tie a plastic bag to my belt loop…just in case!
Emom’s Basic rule of thumb: When sizing up the situation, look for the critter with the most innocent expression in the eyes. Ten to one says this is the guilty party…
That’s it for now. Take care all of mine…go in safety always. Remember… Never ask: “why?†of kids, cats, dogs, husbands or horses! That way lies madness for the asker! Truth!
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter ever day… the worn to a frazzle meems
SATURDAY 2012-03-03 0400 HOURS
WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME
Hey, Brats! I am fine... We did have a massive tornado go over the houses according to Anna. Would you believe that I slept thru the whole thing? Well, most of it anyway. Anna is scared to death of storms. She ended up with all her family members and some of the neighbors in her basement/storm shelter. The creek is still a roaring and I did get a few pix of the water running/pooling in the yard. or http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/967540
or http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/967541 Sorry about the darkness of the pix but it was the best I could do. Was still raining but the winds were quiet for a little bit. I went out on the back porch so I would be off the ground and somewhat sheltered. The lightning Gods were having a field day. (trust me, Shadow is well named. Only when I would take a step or move a bit, would he!) You know, the thing I felt the worst about was the prisoners in the jail in Alabama. I think it's strange that I would worry about them but I did. I can't think of anything worse than being trapped and not be able to seek any shelter. But, that is my reaction. I think the magic words are 'being trapped'. I guess, in my mind, being trapped is the same as loss of control. At/about 0700 this morning, I was running around the house filling stationary and bath tubs with water. I did have a short power outage but elec came back on in less than a minute. Might have been caused by a branch hitting a power line. The huge amount of rain we've had in the last couple of days really concerns me. Ground slippage is a possible result or boulders in the roadways. Some of these rocks are as big as a house. Weight in the thousands of tons. The state uses dynamite to remove them. Don't worry about me... I was a boy scout in a previous life time... (read up to 10 years ago! Lolol ) I have my wind up radio, flashlite, heat source, cook stove and a couch that unfolds into a bed. I put my meds in a bag and set the bag on the small landing at the top of the basement steps. I also have a mini fridge and a freezer. I'm all set. I have the ponds for water.. A generator for the well pump (220) cost way too much. If you can find one... like $5,000+/-. Well, that's gonna be it for the time being. Go in safety all of mine. Remember... with a little bit of effort, we can survive almost anything. Many hugs, much love and most of all, some lafter everyday even in the worst of times... meems

FRIDAY 2012-03-02
WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME!
I have decided that being on midnites is not necessarily an all bad thing. I have been watching a program called Oddities... how bout it comes on at 0300 hours? It's an off the wall business which trades/sells all kinds of strange things...antiques and oddities. lolol And here I thot I was weird!
Tonight, I watched the owners and a potential seller/customer going thru all the procedures, including CT scans, of an alleged mummified part of an ancient Egyptian! An attempt to verify the authenticity of said item. Item, shall we say, is something the male of the species might feel a strong attachment to. Shut up, Sherri! I know, TMI !!! I am just surprised that said item would be dis-attached from the owner and then mummified! Never in all my readings of the odds and ends of ancient Egypt, have I ever run across this subject... My attic is full of all kinds of esoteric info but this is a new one on me! (Hey Sherri... lolol I got to use the word! gotcha! Inside joke, kids... lolol) I am amazed at the number of things I don't know... I'm starting to get the giggles...
The stars of the show also demonstrated the process of how to mummify a frog... Gee, and to think I have lived all these years without knowing how to mummify a frog.
Hmm... that gives me an idea! How bout I work on the critters... I DO mean the 4 pack! I discovered that the dust bunnies under the bed are holding their own demonstrations! Pickets, signs and all! I am down on hands and knees raking the unstuff out from under the bed. Sheesh! Remind me to NEVER EVER get the critters any more of those stuffed bones! PLEASE! lolol Lordy pete, the carpeting is wall to wall unstuff under there. Do you suppose they could find me if I ran away from home and left no forwarding? Just a thot... ( I made that stuff up about the dust bunnies but it is within the realm of possibilities in my world...lolol)
I've been out to the mail box and saw some of them BBSBs playing around up there. Beautiful day...not a cloud in the sky... Are the Storm Gods trying to make up for all the trouble they caused yesterday? We had an inch and a half of rain and lots of lightning. The trash can dumped the brick and rolled down the hill a ways. I don't see any damage around me but I know others in KY were wiped out.
I talked to Anna late last nite and she said the creek was a roaring down by her place. I can hear the creek behind me. I haven't been to the back yet but I just betcha my part of the creek is out of its banks. I guess the road below me is downed tree free. Tim, themaleman, managed to pick up the outgoing mail.
People down here are wonderful when times and weather get bad. Tree/s down? The neighbors all get together and clear the roadways. Helping one another saves the county lots of money.
Let's see here, what else? Oh, I finally got the apartment floor clean. Like I said, I was down on all fours working. Would you believe I had one of those white trash bags jammed full? Truth, so help me. I found some deer bones and a cigarette lighter under the bed too. Apparently the Lilyputz has been putting some of her stash under the bed! I'm not kidding! She also has a stash place under the computer table...back behind one of the two drawer filing cabinets.
The Lily was out back while I was dragging the stuff out from under the bed. When she came inside, she went right to the bed and checked. Looked at me, looked under the bed again, then went off to pout/sulk! lolol I guess I ought to be thankful that I'm allowed to sleep indoors.
Oh, and I gots to tell ya about the Shadow. I crack up when he reacts to a discovery... Remember I told y'all about his reaction to my taking a bath? Well, he's decided that what I am doing is acceptable. He now lays in the hall way, front legs crossed, solemn expression on his face. He looks, for all the world, like a second cousin to the Sphynx. I've never had a dog with this kind of personality... lolol He ponders! I swear to you, I can see his mind working. Trying to figure out what the Mom is doing. And when the "aha!" moment strikes, his whole demeaner changes...lolol Next thing I know, he is pondering sumfin else... or tearing up paper or or or... lolol
Another thing... I always have a babysitter. I have no idea how they figure out the schedules. It is rare to have all four of them outside at the same time. Lily always helps me with the laundry. Stormy is the alpha female and top guardian to the meems. I do believe she would bite with little provocation. And Pyggs? Well, Pyggs is a cute, rotten to the core, Momma's baby. He will snuggle up close...grab my hand with his teeth then move my hand to his favorite 'pet me' spot. We play ghostie sometimes.
Ghostie is a romp in and under the bed covers. Somebody will get under the covers... the others will bounce on the victim... what's funny is when I am the victim...I am under the covers... screaming and doing doggie talk... I get bounced on. Critters root under the covers and poke me with cold noses. Nothing like a cold nose to get your attention... lolol I am having the best time!
I'm outa here for a while... take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember that when you find that item you have been looking for, you will lose sight of something equally important.
Many hugs...much love and lots of lafter every day. meems

I might just as well make the 'grumpy sign' as a permanent fixture on here. Sheesh!
Well, maybe I should thank the Storm Gods for having one of the tornadoes skip over the house about 2115 hours this evening. I heard it but thank goodness, it didn't touch down. I sit below the crest of the hills on three sides. Open to the east. Would y'all believe that I slept thru most of the storms today?
Latest info on the unstuffed bones situation... I am now ankle deep (think a lot higher) in un-stuffing! I found two semi-emptied bones buried in the covers when I got up at/about 9 pm. Some stuffing under my pet pillow.
Another grump! I wrote out the checks to pay the bills this evening. Once 'it' hits the fan, I find that 'it' continues to roll down hill. "It" is now nearing my tail assembly...am I making any sense at all?
One down, one more to go! In other words, I have to get busy on the income tax stuff! I called the IRS number to get the forms and booklet. (Question:If the government no longer automatically sends the forms and booklets, nor has them availabe at libraries and post offices, are they, the IRS, saving any money? )
Now, we all know that I am terrible with numbers, but even I can understand that 1 person at the other end of the 800-phone, taking individual info, sending out forms and booklets, must cost more than the previous 'tax payer' pick up at tp's convenience. (just dawned on me that "TP" can stand for another type of paperwork) I think I just said a funny! lolol You may quote me if you wish! lolol
Look out kids, the world is coming to an end!!!!! I did some cooking earlier today. Yes, Marv, I can cook. My oldest daughter says I am a terrible cook, but what does she know? lolol I made fried biscuits, sausage patties and gravy! Can you say 'yummy'? and yesterday, I fixed more fried taters (with bacon and onions added) Not near as much trouble fixing this time as the other day when I couldn't find the onions! I smothered this batch of taters with ranch flavored sour cream.
I had critters glued to my tail assembly out in the kitchen. I think they were hoping the "Mom" would drop sumfin on the floor... or leave sumfin unguarded on the table or or or. Trust me, these rotten critters will not miss a chance at gobbling up Mom's home cooking.
Here's another hint... tasty one too. Sometimes I add chunks of the cheese with wine and almonds to the top of some things. It is really tasty on top of the fried taters or baked ones. And have you ever fixed smashed taters and added chunks of cheddar cheese to the mix? I'm making myself hungry! lol
Anyway, in my own defense, I do make a scrumptious sweet and sour pork, a filling spaghetti and a yummy chili! And, once upon a time ago, I even did home made bread... noodles and and and! lolol.
Guess that's gonna be it for a while...take care all of mine... go in safety always. Remember not to knock it until you've tried it!
Many hugs.. much love...and lots of lafter meems

Sheesh! Have I mentioned lately that I hate dogs? Grumble mumble! At my age it's easy to forget what you have said previously? Especially when you park your brain/memory on a bench somewhere and then walk awaaaaaaaa......
Back to the critters! Would you believe I went to bed early last nite? Right around 2330 hours. Cozy, comfy and snuggled under the covers... Everybody sawing logs! (a most comforting and soothing sound) Drifting off when all hell breaks loose outside the bedroom window. East window... outside the backyard fence.
How bout a hound, hunting variety, baying and yipping on the trail of sumfin! Hound went off... So did the 4 pack! I couldn't move, I was pinned by the blankets! By the time the '4 leggedies' cleared the bed, I was beaten to a pulp! Lordy pete, I am getting too fragile (almost said too old) for this late nite party stuff!
Hound bayed... the 4 pack squalled and carried on. I threw them out the kitchen door. This did NOT help a thing! I now have a hound running the outside line of the fence... a 4 pack keeping pace on the inside of fence line. Good grief!
I go back to the door and get the 4 pack inside... no help... the hound ran the hills and the creek till way late in the nite. I didn't mind the hound... he was just doing his thing... This time, I wanted to shoot the hunter... Sheesh, doesn't anybody ever sleep at nite around here? And to think I didn't even go out to the mail box yesterday!
I didn't go outside today either. Just looked out the front window. lolol the window with my advertising candle.

Most all the bags of catfood are gone...I have one left...Daggoned hunting hound must have gotten into them. I don't mind feeding the hungry ones but two bags? I need a storage shed in the worst way.
Speaking of hunting...I asked Scotty, the game warden, if the state had any books/lets on the game/hunting laws. Yup, said he'd drop one off the next time he was out... Well, he forgot, and finally, so did I. Then a couple of weeks ago, the dogs went ballistic! Looking at the side kitchen door... I had grabbed the .38 as I left the apartment. I shoo the dogs, yanked the door open as this man comes up the ramp! Man, who is loudly saying, "I owe you an apology", "repeat", "repeat!"
I had the . 38 pointed at a personal part of mans' anatomy! Man didn't even flinch... apology for forgetting to drop off the book... I cracked up at the situation! lolol I don't know why it struck me funny but it did... There goes the ol reputation again! Racheted it up a notch or two...
Another thing, this weather is NOT for the lame, the maimed nor the insane! Had sun, wind, snow, rising barometer, temps falling. Was in the high 50's today; it is now all of 26 deg. Here in the mountains, ya pays your dime, takes your choice and wait 5 minutes. The Storm Gods are sure to send something your way whether it's what you wanted or not!
Later, all my brats! Take care; go in safety always! Remember the old Chinese Proverb: Be careful for what you ask, the Gods may grant it! (keep in mind, that the Gods may supply their own interpretation to what you ask)
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter everyday... meems

FRIDAY 2012-2-24 WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME! I want you to look at what I got in an email..Last week? Hey Meems, just checked my e-mail and found out you have something going with a couple of jimmies,I have a question, are the jimmies interested in older women or they elderly themselves. Notice I said elderly and not old, I don't want to offend anyone....LOL Well, I sent a scorching email, (NO pm) an email, in reply sumfin like my usual: “I will get even†Is this from the guy who leaves his drawers hanging on strange door knobs?†And a few other charming gotcha remarks… I signed off. Next morning, I have a wowser of a response… “ I don’t wear any and I can prove it!†Guess who cracked up and fell out of the chair. That comeback conjured up a pic in my mind. I can’t think of any gotcha’s at the moment but my attic is working on it… so look out! No, it wasn’t the Marv with the gotcha this time. It was the rotten JCbrat! or http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/855847-Whining-sign-2 I need to keep the sign posted for a while… I’ve been on a tantrum lately! Again! Yet! Still! Lolol Tantrum #1… the weather! In the past couple of weeks, We’ve had snow (6â€), rain (5/6â€), temps from 12 above to 72 deg yesterday afternoon. When I went to bed this morning a/a 0100, it was still 71 deg. Sheesh! Had several heavy duty thunderstorms roll thru… Sleet, freezing rain, high winds…The Storm Gods must be worn out. Would we be that lucky? Just have to wait and see. And to think at this time last year, I was frozen in… Shady spots on the roads covered with ice! Tantrum #2…The wrecking crew! KK gets on me when I say I hate dogs! I ain’t opposed to say that… but I will… Remember the nice lil ol lady who, when she was at the store, bought the fuzzy bones for the 4 pack? Did the critters appreciate the toys? Did they play and fight over them? OH YEAH! or http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/960061-2-12-doggie-bone However, them bones didn’t last! (I know, but I just couldn’t resist). I now have wall to wall fuzzies… The stuffings have been unstuffed! Can you say panic? The stuffings are now all over the apartment! Down the hall to the kitchen… and even in the desk/paintframes/hammer room! The door was slightly ajar… I didn’t give it a thought. Nothing in there for the dogs to get into… WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! Back up for a minute… I had a load of laundry in the washer… a load of peach colored undies in the drier. I took the “should have been white undies†and jammies out of the drier to fold. The Putzer came down stairs with me to keep me company… or http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/736294-Lily-in-pink-2-1-5-3- OK, so I’ve got the whites all folded… take em upstairs to put away. Door to hammer room open a little wider than when I went down stairs. Still with me? Now, my supposedly white items go into a dresser drawer in the hammer room. I moved the dresser to that room so I could set up the “office†back here in the apartment! Still with me? OK, so I push the door open wider so I can get the basket of folded clothes in there. What in the world????? The floor is covered with my clean peach colored undies.. I hadn’t closed the drawer all the way (one more lesson learned). And some innocent looking critter had gotten into the drawer, pulled all my clean undies out and scattered them all over the room. (don’t tell the JCbrat about this, I’ll never hear the end of it!!!) Is that it? Well, I guess that’s it… I’m sure that when I hit the enter key Sumfin else will pop out of the attic! Take care all of mine… go in safety always… Remember to go cautiously when you think you have everything under control! That’s when the Gods of Perverse will reach out and getcha! Many hugs… much love and lots of lafter every day! meems
2012-2-13 Monday WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME AND HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TOMORROW! OK, I HATE modern living… I don’t think I’ve said that one before! Sheesh, I called the post office and talked to D. He cracks me up, btw. Anyhow, I talk to him about my last wrapped package. No problem, if it fits in the mail box, PO will weigh and do all the needed stuff for me. (this is only done because I am such a sweet lil ole lady and they are scared to death of me) I’ll send my check for x number of dollars and they will take care of the rest. Now here comes the good part… What’s in the box? Oh dear! Aaaaaaaah hmmmmmmm! Ok, so I tell/describe to D what I am sending. Any fluids? Ah… Yup! I describe the item. D was very nice but gave me to know that I needed to place said item in plastic, sealable bags. Oh, dear! OK, so he continues with if any liquids leak from a package the whole airport will be closed down! Now, I would have made headlines for sure if the item leaked… So, I have unwrapped the ugly package.. took me a while too… Then, I took the item out… put it in a sandwich sized bag and then in the larger freezer bag. So now, the item is double packaged inside the box. This also means that I have to dig out the packaging tape, brown paper, labels, my new home address stamp thingy and try to make a better job of this one than I did on the last wrap. Have I mentioned that packing tape and I don’t get along? Something similar to me and the coffee maker. Sheesh! In the meantime, I cut a chunk of frozen sliced bacon and threw it in a skillet. A chef’s knife and a hammer work really well to cut frozen bacon. Anyway, I got the Idaho’s out, scrubbed them and then started slicing them. I put on a pepper-garlic mix. Then I went looking for the onions… OMG! I can’t find the onions! I’m not out! Surely I wouldn’t let myself run out of onions! The dogs are starting to panic and are stepping on my heels! Mom, Mom!!! What’s wrong? Well, I looked in every cupboard… in the fridge/ drawers… everywhere… I am still in panic mode… where else would I have put them if I did have them. I am standing alongside the stove and let my eyes wander… There, THERE under the worktable, I see a plastic bag… You don’t suppose… Yup, I went over, grabbed the bag…There were the onions, right where they were supposed to be… lolol Why would I ever put something where it belonged? My brain doesn’t work that way! (shut up Marv!) Anyhow, by the time the bacon was done, I had everything else ready to throw in the skillet. There ain’t nothin’ smells as good nor better than home fries a cooking! Grab a plate.. set your-selves down and dig in. I’ll make a fresh pot of coffee. Want some ketchup too? Home fries is almost as good as chocolate! You may quote me… and yes, the critters got a taste too… lolol Well, I guess that’s it for the time being… take care all of mine… go in safety always. Remember to take the trash out before dark. Tomorrow is trash day. Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter every day… meems
