This is very true June, in our State of Oregon, once you filled the form I was telling you about they can't touch it either, because you are officially on the Records at the Courthouse, but not until the person dies does it become yours. I would never put a person in a Nursing Home. Many years ago I worked in them. I would go Hospie, because my Mother was on it for nearly 2 years. The first year she was fine, and then the second year as she got worse they did more for her, and the Asst. Living Place at to do what Hospies said. You can also live in your home to and Hospies will come there. Nice to have things ready so when you pass on it makes it easier for your love ones to take over. Bro. Doc

Good Morning June, What I wonder is how people that do not have lots of money afford the cost to transfer a house to someone. Also in this state you can leave property in a will and that is legal. I wonder if you can do the same there? It is cold this morning, was 35 at 5 am and not at 7:15am it is 39, but to be in the 60's today. Have a great day. Bro. Doc

June, if you do what your going to do it with a Life Estate thing and pay that fee your riped off. And no one gets your house until your dead. The form no 1338 Transfer om Death Deed is what you need. The form is 20 dollars aned you fill it out and take it too the  Records Department of the County Courthouse where your property records are and your Official Record of Descriptions of Real Property. The form is one that you fill out and and make whomever you want to have your house after die. The records department for proerty  put there seal on it and the notary signs it and it is done. And it is not going to cost, 1,000.00 My Mother did this form in 8 minutes and I took it too the courthouse and paid the filing fee in 2018 and it didn't cost me the price you would pay. And doing it your way my friend your riped off. My Mom did this Jan 19th 2018. It seems if your doing the way you plan you are took. It is the County Deeds and Records at the County Courthouse you need to do it at not with whom you said you were going too. Bro. Doc

Well another day as end, and so far all is well. I worked in the garden this afternoon. Out there about a hour or so. It's been a while since I could even do that.

Good Nite MOM  ~~~
