Hi Darlene. Well Xmas 2025 is fast becoming a memory. To be honest I’m always pleased when it’s over. The traditional Xmas’s are a thing of the past and it it’s all commercialised now.
How did you spend the day? What was your weather like. Did you have snow.
Here the day was a pleasantly mild 77f. I opted to spend the day quietly at home. My daughter and Granddaughter spent xmas eve here and cooked a hot turkey roast for dinner. Then on Xmas day my son who lives a short distance from here came with a plate of hot roast turkey, ham and vegetables. I had enough left overs to last me for several meals.
The past two days temps were over 100f but today it’s back down in the low 80’s. Yesterday, I was very effected with hay fever. Ended up by taking one and a 1/2 Zirtek and was still suffering. Much better today thank goodness. So far this summer has been quite mild but we will see what happens in January and february. They are usually our hottest months.
It’s New Years eve here and another year gone. I for one won’t be sitting up to see the new one arrive. Definitely past all that excitement.
I hope this new year will be a great one for you and your hubby. Lots love Pat.
Have a wonderful last day of the year Darlene .Im almost done with them goodies .lol
They came in handy. Got to the store today and i am stocked up for a good month.
It is supposed to snow tonight might get an inch of snow by morning.
What kind of drinks will you be having? I have almost a full bottle of Baileys which I hardly use and so i keep it in a small cabinet up top my refrigerator .
So i would need a stepstool to open that cabinet .
I graduated from high school in 1969 at the age of 17, so those muscle cars always made an impression on me! My first husband had a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner, that he would race over at Kenndale & Green Valley raceways, on certain days of the month, "street legal" cars were allowed to race against each other in quarter mile drag racing.. oh it was so much fun! He had headers, what was called "slick" tires, 383 V-8 motor, 5 "in the floor" gears, some kind of special carborator, (for racing) we had to drop out once gas prices rose to 20 cents a gallon! LOL! BOY I would LOVE to see those prices again!
The eagle puzzle was a Christmas gift to my husband from one of his coworkers, they know we work jigsaw puzzles.

Hey There Miss Deb - Liked the puzzles.. Nice of you to think of me.. I would love to have the car in black with silver strips around it.. Love those muscle cars.. Back in the early 70s, I remember how the guys would rev their engines going down main street and us girls would scream and laugh.. Such fun times.. I think the car puzzle would have been more difficult to do than the eagle.. I'm not really looking forward to the new year.. All it means for us Deb, is getting another year older and having more health issues.. I'd like to stay put for awhile.. Good night xx Darlene
Very windy today..a cold front blowing in tonight. I sure hope we don't see any more warm temps. Had a bit of rain overnight..checked the rain gauge and it was just below 1/2". Made chili yesterday..leftovers still.
Hopefully your westher will clear up and you can dine out. My sister-in-law gave us a Cracker Barrel gift card. We have 2 locations close by..the one in Charlotte is probably where we will go. Not sure when, but it's nice to have it. We will see 75 degrees on Saturday. Suppose to return to the 40's by Tuesday..rain on Monday. December is going out with a bang no doubt.
Yes, I like yellow mustard and honey mustard. My favorite cheeses are sharp cheddar, Muenster, and Gouda. I made a grilled ham n cheese today for lunch. We haven't had a tree up in several years. Just no room here, but have used table top trees before. Now that Inhave a sofa table in den, I'll use it next year for a table top tree. I'm going to buy ine after Christmas since everything will be on sale.
Hi Darlene! what a crazy week it's been so far and it's only Tuesday! LOL! update on my knee, today, I went back to the doctor for my post-op checkup, she was very pleased with my progress. She said the stitches needed to stay in for a few more days, but with Christmas this week, I will go back on Tuesday Dec 30th to not only get the stitches out, but to also start physical therapy. She also told me after seeing my knee from the inside, I will probebly need a total knee replacement in about 5 yrs, give or take.. We had to take my computer to the computer hospital yesterday morning, after keeping it overnight, with no word, we stopped by the shop after my doctor's visit this afternoon, to find out what's going on (we did call once yesterday late afternoon, it still needs a new battery, which THEY said would take another 3 weeks, we decided I would bring it home as is. My hubby called another Apple verified repair shop to ask them about a battery, the hubby ended up taking my laptop there, he did a quick check, ordered the battery it needs, said it should be in his shop by Monday or Tuesday, he'd call us when he got the battery, we would bring my laptop to him and he should have it ready withiin a few hours. John even liked the people in this 2nd shop better, they took the time to talk WITH him, where the other shop worker didn't want to take the time for anything... I know this time of the year is busy and stressful, but that's a business, and John was the only person in that shop. SO, one day next week I won't have accesss of my computer for awhile. I also posted an updated bulletiin about my brother-n-law, Robert, it was dire for a day.
Here we are, the week of Christmas, and our weather is getting ready to flip. The next 5 days..mid 70's. Monday, we'll return back to the 40's. It's crazy, but typical here. We always have a better chance of colder weather and snow chances in Jan/Feb. I've been cleaning and getting laundry caught up. We still need to get the gifts here wrapped up for my sister and her grandkids. We will drop them off tomorrow evening. Been enjoying the treats you sent. I love trying different cheeses. And the summer sausage with the cheese makes a wonderful snack. Do you have a favorite cheese?
I'm going to see if they're any hams on sale tomorrow. We plan on eating out, but ham makes good leftovers indeed. Spent most of the day cleaning and moving den furniture around. We finally got everything placed into the home office. Only item left will be a new wardrobe, and we will be buying one in a few weeks. Still have gifts to wrap up. David went to his department Christmas party today. He was home @ 2 pm. He's on vacation and doesn't return back to work till Jan 2.
Good Morning, Melinda. "Two furry little architects padded around their snowy masterpiece, giggling in tiny meows as the pressed a carrot into place. By the time they were done, the snowman was smiling proudly---mostly because the cats insisted he looked purrfect,"
Good Morning, Melinda. We don't have the tree up or nativity scene on the fireplace mantal or the stockings hung with care, in hopes that Santa soon will be there. We're all just running behind schedule. Yet, we are almost done with our Christmas shopping. This year I'm giving gift cards..The first day of winter greets us without snow, but I know many people in the country are dealing with travel issues from snow.. It's on the news.
Hi Darlene. Thanks for your welcome words. Yes I have been offline for a time. I do have health issues that interupt my lifestyle every so often. Not pleasant unfortunately. Today is our lomgest day of daylight hours and tomorrow it's on the downhill run to the next winter season. Unbelieveable how quickly the time goes. Xmas just a few short days away too. I'm staying quietly at home this year. My daughter and Grandaughter are coming here Xmas eve and spending a few hours. Will catch up with my son & family later. I know how excited you get with Xmas. You will be sad when it's over. I have been working on a Xmas page this afternoon but have been having problems with the Postimage site. Moght just do the basics and leave it at that. Will try and catch up again soon. Hugs Pat.
We visited Marie today,,got home at 430. Tomorrow is when we visit my sister. So a busy weekend. Looks like we will finish getting the file cabinet and clean up Monday. Sunday will be the shortest day of the year...the we will start gradually seeing longer days. December is such an anticipated month..we're so busy with schedules, etc..it goes by in no time.
