Maddie usually does OK with fireworks, (and thunder) but poor Cassie starts panting heavily and shivering, then she starts climbing us, ( back and forth between me and my husband)...we have triend everything to help her keep calm, nothing helped, so the vet prescribed her an anxiety med. 1/2 of a pill works really at keeping her calmer. we only give it to her on 4th & 5th of July and New Years eve. And only if the thunderstorms are supposed to roll through during the late of night or very early morning, none during the day...
