EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS WEEKLY posted about 2 hours ago I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT DAY!
Welcome home dear hearts, welcome home!
Sorry all of mine for the non-publishing of the news the past few days. I’m still ankle deep in screwy paper work. I did get the tax papers done.
I’ve gathered a lot of info for SS and I’ve called for a copy of the SSA –561 –U2. Fill out the form and attach your latest state increase or in my case, decrease.
OOOOOPSIE! I just found my missing pages... In Laurie2's group Disease and Caretakers... I said I was paranoid... and addled....Sorry if I mislead anybody... It wasn't deliberate I assure you all. I knew I had 3 pages of comments and I thot they had disappeared. I had just misplaced them… Y’all might want to check these comments also.. Very interesting.
Can I talk about sumfin else for a while? Please? Lolol Well, ratz! I can’t think of anything else. Lolol See what gov paperwork does to you?
Hmmmm! I’m pondering here… Oh finally… Grasscutter came out today and brot me some baby aspirins for the heart problem. He toted and carried stuff for me and ( a big AND here) he hooked up my front door intercom. Now, I can hear if someone is at the front door whether they ring the doorbell or not. My end listens all the time and it works great.
Then he played with the drive way alarm system… It’s not hooked up yet because it takes two types of batteries that I don’t keep on hand. Two C’s and sumfin else… a rectangular shaped battery. Is this boring or what? Lolol
And here I was on a creative roll… lolol I have paintings to do stacked up in my brain. I have two or more in progress but haven’t been able to get to them. Sheesh. I also have the bookcase, the table and chair seat staring at me. Broom is hiding in the closet somewhere and I can’t say I blame her!
Then, there’s the rag tag bunch… lolol OMG! You have no idea what I have done to myself… lolol Never, ever take in pups in the middle of cold weather. Dogs/pups/cats/ kittens and icy rain do not mix. Lolol the other morning, the Newbie came in with at least an inch of ice and snow on his fur. He was toasty warm under all the frozens but he did bring in a lot of fall out… and can you say: muddy paw prints? Doggerby, the lab, was barking like crazy outside. I whistled for him and here he comes up from the creek.
Can you say mud up to his arm/leg pits? Oh yeah! I think I’m just gonna leave the mud there in the kitchen and use it to start next year’s tomatoes and onions…
The other morning, I hear a dog crying outside. I go look and I see the Gremlin’s muzzle inside the Doggerby’s mouth. Lolol Apparently, the Gremlin had gotten one of the deer skull’s and Doggerby decided it should be his. Where does it say in the fine print that I am a ref… I don’t wear striped shirts… lol
Sherri honey… I know you have this thing against deer bones in the house…(no accounting for taste..gotcha!) However I have learned a few things because of this bad habit.
One thing I have learned, paleontologically speaking, is that tooth chewing marks on bone are a lot different from applied flint blade marks. The other thing is deer marrow smells just like ivory soap. (I’ve mentioned this before)
OK, what else? Oh Skype… Bobbi introduced me to Skype. We talked for hours the other nite…I fluffed and primped for my g’daughter’s cute lil boyfriend… lolol Would you believe he wasn’t interested? Well, maybe he might have been but he was suffering from an attack of the giggles! Everybody at that end cracked up… including my son in law! Bobbi told people that I am cute! No comment here at all!
Some sad things here… Friend Junie lost her son last week. I’ve lost one of mine..Easy (Gene) passed last week. And Mark lost his son a few weeks ago. Go in peace all. A special note to Gene… Enjoy the Michigan forests dear heart… and be good to the crows. Hugs, love and sympathy to all…
Well, kids… we have more winter storm warnings for the mountain and it’s been raining for a while… or sleeting or sumfin…even tho it’s still above freezing right now. Grasscutter said the road below is in terrible shape.

Pic was taken in 2009 but snow on the ground looks just the same!
Have a question! Would coal cinders work on gravel roads ecologically speaking? Most places you can get the cinders for nothing. I’m thinking about suggesting this solution to our new Judge Magistrate. (read county commissioner – top dog)
I think that’s it for a while… I’ll be so glad when I have this mess straightened out. Sheesh… Remember that this too shall pass. It always has.
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter… The totally confused meems
SPECIAL EDITION SOCIAL SECURITY PUNISHMENT? 2011*01*20 I just received a notice from the SS Chicago office that I am now going to receive a total of $100.50 less per month this year than I did last year… I am being penalized because I worked in municipal and county government offices. Back then, I was given no option to pay into SS by the locals. I was only allowed to pay into the State’s retirement system. (OPERS) However, when retirement time came around, SS advised I, as surviving spouse, could/would receive 1/3 of my spouse’s retirement pay and all benefits. In this situation, I would only receive the 1/3 dollar amount and any future increases in the State retirement would be penalized by SS…i.e., SS would decrease my retirement check by $2.oo for every $3.00 increase from the Ohio system. Let’s see here, I am going to tear my hair out! Scream! Double my vanilla usage! Have a nervous breakdown! But I AIN’T giving up. Rumor has it that the gov is wanting the elderly to bite the dust early on. This game playing is extremely stressful, oh yeah. This is a killer… no joke intended here. Take money away from the individual who earned the benefits by working their whole life? (I have worked since I was 10 years old) Am I being harassed because a relative is very active in the Tea Party? Have I been confused with another ex-wife who can also draw SS and benefits? This game by SS has been going on for more than 10 years now. Oh I am making this very public! (Any manager or mod who would rather this not be published in their groups, feel free to delete and no hard feelings) Guess who’s gonna be busy with more paper work for a while… Sorry kids, this blog is a bummer but I feel that Americans should know what CAN happen to the individual after retirement. Take care all of mine… go in safety always. Remember that you cannot trust anybody in today’s world. It’s a shame, but now we do stand on quicksand where yesterday we stood on rock. Many hugs, much love and much lafter each day… the rooting thru stacks of papers meems

THE ONE, THE ONLY, THE NEW WEEKLY EDITION OF THE EMOM’S MOUNTAIN NEWS Owned and operated by the emom101 aka meems! Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. or http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/813381-Whining-Fee Well, I was going to cut down, time wise, on the news but here I am again…already. Seems like I upset a member of another soc.net.site with my remarks yesterday about the Gremlin. At first I was angry but then I had to stop and consider this person probably doesn’t know me at all. And obviously doesn’t understand that when I pick on someone, I do it with all the love and rottenness in my soul. It’s when I am consistently nice and or polite to a particular individual that I am leery and the individual just might be in trouble. Right Marv? Lolol I couldn’t resist! Lolol Gotcha! I’m in trouble and all I did was go out to get the mail… Yup, I know it’s Sunday however, I didn’t go out yesterday cause there was still snow and ice on the ground. Oh yeah! Several of my flyguys went over but I couldn’t see them… would you believe ceiling is zero again? I checked the roadway from the mail box point of view and I can still see ice and packed snow…. Especially down at the lower curve. Did I mention that a guy went into the ditch the other day? Butch came up to the rescue after he turned around in the driveway! Anyway, the mail…. Does anybody know what the IRS has planned for us this year? I got a message from SocSec but I still haven’t found a place to get the tax forms…Even if I get the forms, will they be the right ones now? And NO! I am not going to do my taxes on the net. Uh uh! I think I am gonna scream! Well, my next cleaning, sort of, fix up is propped up in the kitchen… an old drop leaf table that I bot way back in 2000-October. Lolol It started off round… then I cut the sides and top off to make a square top drop leaf. Painted it before and decorated with cabbage roses. This time, it will be painted to match the book case and chair. Yeah, I have a chair that matches the paint job. Lolol BTW the book case doesn’t look too bad as the divider. Gonna hang veggie baskets over the case. I am rambling! Lolol or http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/828513-Old-kitchen-table Another thing… when you buy a new (or new to you) piece of furniture, write the date and who on the underside. I use a black sharpie to write the info. The offspring love to find that kind of info from the family happenings. Think that’s it until next week edition… signing off for now. Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember: try not to judge on first impressions….lolol you could be right! Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter each day… meems

All right, All Right, ALL RIGHT! SHEESH! I’m back… sort of! I’ve been buzzed by coffee mug rattlin’ fly guys, yelled at, derated (no, that’s not a typo), conflagrated, blizzarded, iced in, and deluged the last week or so! I shoot first…ask questions later and definitely will bite if you get too close!
First of all, NEVER EVER take in a critter which has the word ‘boxer’ in its breeding or Gremlin in its name! OMG! Can you say disrupted sleep and life style? The boy has discovered the empty toilet paper rolls in the bathroom’s waste basket. This wayward child is a full time job for the young and healthy! He’s a sweetheart with them sad eyes but, OMG, he is a handful!

or view link
I hate to tell y’all this but this little guy has been abused! Oh yeah. I scolded him the other day (he’s not housebroken yet) for making a mess. He ran back here to the apartment and hid in the closet. Didn’t come out for two days. No food, no water, no nothing! When he did come out, he was crawling on his belly submissive.
The little black kitten has discovered the little strainer thingy that used to was in the bath room sink. The strainer thingy is now among the missing… run away and in hiding? The strainer thingy is missing because little black monster liked the tinkling sound the strainer made rattling around in the sink. Now this is a first! I have a music loving kitten? Oh dear.. I can see real trouble starting here. Just consider how many items in YOUR home will and do make tinkling sounds! Things that can really be important to your life style.
Now here is a weird thingy for you all… But, it’s the honest to God’s truth. How bout the cats have learned to open the basement door from the basement side? Been doing laundry right… well, a couple of the cats came down the steps with me, I guess. I sure didn’t see them. I’ve called, left the door open, sweet talked and done everything I know to do to get them back upstairs… Hmmmm!
OK, fine… I close the door! Eventually they’ll get hungry and I’ll be able to get them to come to the food. Did this work? I don’t think so! Sheesh! Well now, the door is open and I didn’t do it… the door was latched but not locked. Anybody have any suggestions as to how the little brats managed this? And does anybody know how much a small animal live trap costs?
Then, last week, I managed to flood the kitchen! Oh yeah! With no trouble at all… I had a flood of not quite biblical proportions going… water fall included! Another SHEESH and an OH DEAR!
Let’s see here… waterfall… Well, I started on the dishes while I was waiting for the book case to dry. (another story) Dish soap, bleach and hot water, right? Let dishes soak for a bit, Right? Wash down stove… front of fridge… all that neat stuff.
Go back to sink… wash and rinse this set…let old water out, new in. No problem… then the well cuts off. Oh dear… No problem really… just do sumfin else until the pressure builds up and water runs again. I wonder around and put dry stuff away. Put other junk away… I am really bad about setting things down and walking away. I’ll get around to it later.
So I wander back here to the apartment… go thru old catalogs… tear out the crossword puzzles from the old newspapers… page thru printouts of different things… listen to the TV… look out the window at the sun and contrails. Lolol Talk to the dogs… on the phone a few with Anna…
Well, purty soon I hear the Lily out by the kitchen… She wants outside, I guess. Down the hall I go… As I get closer to the kitchen I hear this hissing sound. Now what?!? Oh yeah, you got it! There is a waterfall flowing over the stoppered side of the sink… pouring onto the floor… floor has an inch of water running to the four corners. I had forgotten to turn the water off while the pump had started recharging. This is well water right? Any other time, two or three gallons would have come out of the tap and then the well would shut down again! Not this time!
I finally braved up and went down to check for water damage… A few of my books are wet but I don’t see anything serious yet… keeping my fingers crossed here…
And here all you brats thot I was entertaining at candle lit dinners all the time… lolol
Take care all of mine…Go in safety always…. Remember that if “it†is gonna getcha, it will! Lolol
Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter… the ankle deep in disasters, meems lolol
EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS posted about 1 hour ago FRIDAY EDITION 2011*01*07
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home.
Hey kids… you are on your own here in the kitchen right now…Make your own coffee or or or IF you can get to the pot to make some. Book case and chairs in the middle of the room. A drop leaf table over by the high cupboards… Newspapers on the floor… a broom and mop by the back door. I HATE housework. Muddy paw prints all over and a kitten in the basement! Sheesh! And then, there’s the swing chair here in the apartment.
or
view link
Some of you will remember the time the chair came unscrewed from the ceiling and I faldown and go boom? Well, this time I go boom with out the screw coming undone… lol
I was all engrossed in getting some stuff done. Twisting and turning… Leaning back to check and give myself a clear view. The dogs were back here. I grabbed something out of the one bin… Sumfin off the top shelf and the next thing I know, I am on the floor halfway under the puter table.
Well chit! How did I get down here????? I’ve knocked my glasses sideways on my face and cannot see a darned thing but a blur. My arms are flailing around and I am trying to grab hold of the chair. This is not working. I try to put my elbow on the seat so I can pull myself up. This doesn’t work either. I now have a wild and untamed swinging chair on my hands. My butt is still planted on the floor and my legs are stuck in one of the doggy hide-aways underneath. Sheesh! I am stuck! I have the giggles. I’m howling hysterically. Tears are running… I am totally helpless!
Here we go again… lolol I finally managed to roll over enuf to get my knees under me and to paw my way back onto the chair. Daggoned red robe is more trouble than it’s worth sometimes.
The Rag Tags stayed way back. Weren’t too sure about what the mom was up to. Or why! Lolol
And, how was your day?
I’ve pondered about moving into a castle… It, the castle, just might simplify my life as far as cleaning is concerned. There is a small castle near Cincinnati that would be just the right size for me… Has courtyards and everything… 3 or 4 levels… all wood burning fire places… steps circling the inside of the outer walls. Easy to clean all stone! Take a hose… start on top floor, turn hose on and then letter rip… lolol Sounds good to me!
Then today, I discover a comment from the Boss about a name for the lab mix. “Lab and mixâ€, according to the Boss equals “test tubeâ€! (A terrible pun and I told him so) lolol And yesterday, I get a note from the Marv saying I should name him, the dog, Paint. Well, I thot about it… Paint Test? Paint Tube? I thot about Painter but I had a German Shepherd named Painter many moons ago. How does a more modern version sound, guys? Printer? Cartridge? I think I lean toward Printer… However, at the rate I’m going, I just might end up calling him Dogger.
We’re having the strangest weather here… It’s been in the 60’s. The sun’s been shining. And now we have winter storm alerts pouring in. The old bod’s back on midnites and I’ve called to have more dog/cat food delivered. Can it get any more confusing?
I have gotten a few things done. I now have a 14†cube filled with documents which needs to be hauled to the basement… I have a load of wash in… Anna is still trying to get El to migrate. El is still predicting the birth dates of expected baby goats. (He says if we had bet like we did the last time, he would owe me a lunch or sumfin) I sweetly replied that he still owes me a million dollars from the last bet. Did he really think I would believe that I would finally get a meal out of him? Lololol He keeps telling me the check is in the mail! I told him I’m glad I didn’t hold my breath! Lololol I’m having the best time!
Guess that’s it for the time being. Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. 101st Airborne… I am thinking about you all! Remember to be practical no matter what the cost! Now there is an oxymoron for you all!
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter… the ever so graceful meems
EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS posted 3 minutes ago HAPPY NEW YEAR Is this Saturday? 2011*01*01
Is December finally over? Sheesh, I sure hope so!
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home.
Git in here! Sit! Stay! Say please! And help yourself to the leftovers and fresh goodies.
Ask me what I’ve been doing? Ask me if I’ve lost my mind? [ Never park your memory on a park (?) bench and walk away. You are definitely asking for trouble.] lolol I can’t remember who told me they had put their memory in the trunk of a car…some where…some when…lolol
Ask me if I knew better but did it anyway! Or don’t… lolol Sheesh!
I’m here to tell you that even tho I love the holidays, my time sense gets all screwed up when I have two extra weekends in the same month. The eves and days always equal another weekend… the unscheduled kind. Now, I basically know the difference between the holidays and the weekends. However, my brain chooses to NOT jump aboard the ‘logic train’, brain chooses to do its own thing.
Have I mentioned that I have problems with dates…times…numbers… AND I have problems with words! Bobbi, my oldest, advises I have trouble with cooking…altho she did give me an A for my smashies (grilled cheese sammiches) And neither last nor least, the problems I have with the Marv! Lololol Gotcha kids… lolol
Some bad/good news… all wrapped up in one person. The Pogo, my buddy and friend and adopted no count brat, has gotten a new job in a nearby county. With better pay and, tahda, benefits! Hooo raaah for her! BooHoo for me. Friday was her last day here in town. She is dedicated and works soooo hard to help others. I am so proud of her… The Pogo is the one who helped me get my home… (By the way, I was the poster girl that year for elderly being assisted) I was the oldest to get a home thru the USDA in Owsley.
Now, to add to the above confusion, I also have the Gremlin running around the house. Did you know that some critters come with built in fall out? Sheesh!
I have various and assorted deer body parts all over the back side of the house! How bout a skull under the TV table? Several leg bones? A section of the spine? Part of a jaw with teeth still embedded. Yucky pucks! I have shredded cartons all over the bed room floor… not to mention doggy hair, a piece of rope, a plastic container lid, a tie down, several pages from a catalog, pieces of backing from a telephone package… hmmm…. And a few odd deer teeth! I can see all of this from where I am sitting.
I can also see two rakes and the curry comb waiting impatiently over there… all excited and in a hurry to get started! Running away from home seems to get better looking all the time! ….if I can work it into my schedule! This broken field running gets a little more difficult as one ages.
I also have the problem with the critters and the bones…. Disagreeing! Can you say: get nipped if you get in the way? Lolol Oh dear! The Pyggs and the Gremlin just had a minor disagreement under my chair! Fighting over the jaw bone.
Then, the other day, Lily was in front of me… Gremlin behind my ankles. Guess who got nipped by accident when these two grenades went off simultaneously? And yes, I do have a bruise! How bout several ? lolol The good part of this is my afterburners are, for the moment, unbruised. See, there’s a positive for every negative… most of the time.. lolol
Take care all of mine… go in safety always. Remember even tho you may be forced to look under a lot of junk, there’s always a bright spot in every day. Am I profound or what?!? Lololol
Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter every day… meems
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY! 2010*12*25 0900 hrs Hugs! Get in here and enjoy the warmth and the good company! It was sooooo quiet overnite… even the Viva slept sound. The snow was falling ever so softly… Gremlin was curled up on my feet… him was warm and safe… I, on the other side, had a bony… all elbows and knees… critter pinning my legs to the bed! Lololol Speaking of the Viva… she is very busily holding my pillows to the bed. Do all pillows get a little rambunctious in cold, crispy, snowy weather or just mine? Well, the rag tag bunch were as happy as all get out with their chew toys and pig ear trimmings… I also have a bunch of drunken cats in the living room… Can you say: catnip? Lololol Oh dear… I have a basket of yarn in the living room… or I did have. Right now, I have white yarn all over and kittens playing and romping in and around the basket. Way too cute but can I go have a nervous breakdown now? Or run away from home? Or or or? lolol I hope Santa was good to all you young’uns. Anybody besides the Marv get lumps of coal this year? He is so deserving! Lolol Gotcha! Now, to the phone! Yesterday… Lolol and Oh dear! I roll out.. and start with my cuppa… lolol I’m reading and taking care of my mail? Keep in mind that I thot yesterday was Christmas. Lolol What? Who? Me? Be operating on an incorrect premise? Oh yeah! I sort of expected calls from the kids but the phone didn’t ring. I finally discovered the phone in the living room was off the hook? I forgot to put the rubber band back on it. Rotten rowdy kittens! Again! lolol OK, so I fix the phone situation… I try to see if I have any messages… The message section has been rearranged by the phone company and I can’t get anyplace. Lolol Do I give up? No way. However, the message system got thoroughly disgusted with me and disconnected itself. Well, ratz! Then I get a call from Bobbi, my oldest… lolol We start a discussion (read swapping info at a rapid rate) about sumfin… She keeps saying tomorrow (meaning today) and Christmas at the same time. Well, I discover I have lost a day again… Not to worry, I do this all the time but I would have sworn… Oh well. She cracked up and I got tickled. Now, did she let me forget that we were talking on Christmas Eve? I don’t think so! Lolol And then I tried to tell her about sumfin else that used an acronym. Well, do you think I could think of the right letters? Another I don’t think so! We did talk about the CIA among other things… And I told her about putting NCIC on my profile (ref fave tv programs) instead of NCIS. Well, we cracked up again. NCIC is the Nat’l Crime Investigation Center…FBI lolol Ok, so now Bobbi is tormenting me about my problems with numbers and letters… lolol Hey, when I can’t think of a word, I just make one up! Lolol Then, I saw the video clip about NORAD giving updates on Santa’s progress around the world. While the top dog was answering the reporter’s questions, I spotted one of mine in the background. I fell out of the chair giggling. Here is this huge camo clad guy (one of mine) wearing an elf’s hat and a telephone head set… Hat had pointy ears and everything… I loved it! NORAD has been doing this since 1955… every year they take calls from children. Nothing to do but I had to call NORAD myself…Gave them a high 5 and a WAY TO GO! Ya done good, kids… Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember to keep things simple …and to appreciate the simple things of life. Many hugs, much love and heart warming lafter… meems
EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS posted 1 minute ago WEDNESDAY EDITION 2010*12*21
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!
Come on, get in here and get warm and comfy… the elec logs are going just enuf to take the chill out of the kitchen. In winter, the kitchen is always the coldest spot in the house. There’s still some of the Snow Man cake left… help yourselves. Do you like the coconut sprinkled around it? Use the spoon over there to get some extra. Lolol Ya best leave some for me tho… My pleasing disposition is subject to change without notice! LOLOL
I think I have managed to develop/establish a reputation here with my brats! I got the funniest remarks from the person who shall remain nameless (but his initial is Ron) Crackin’ up… He said that he was glad that he had met me “AFTER I HAD MELLOWED OUTâ€. Ok, what does that mean?!? Lolol Is there an insinuation there that I am not laid back, quiet and peaceful by nature? Need I go on…? Lolol Gotcha again brat!
Oh dear… and the Marv… Him is accusing me of all kinds of things including the rain and storms on the west coast. (I sort of told him to take a nap) I wonder if he has noticed the rainy wx follows where ever he goes? Lololol Him is cute and cuddly but not too bright! Gotcha again! lololol
Then there’s the LJ… Good grief! I am surrounded by ‘get even’ brats… Well, the LJ sends me this weather report from Iowa… Two feet of snow! Well, I click on the thingy and up pops a pair of feetsies (big ones) made out of snow… A terrible visual pun…The boy doesn’t have anything better to do than torment this sweet lil old lady? Lolol I have to tell you this too… He said he had to read my emails with his coffee and before he went out the door to go shopping with Carol… Oh dear… Carol’s gonna kill me! Lolol
OK, what else… Oh… I was trying to catch up on my sleep yesterday… the door bell rang and the rag tags went off at the same time. “The DOOR, MOM! THE DOOR! MOMMMM?†Oh dear! I roll out.
I stagger down the hall, broken field running, cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, rearranged furniture and dust collectors. (and my friends worry that I don’t get enuf exercise, sheesh!) lolol and lest I forget the vacuum cleaner!
I fling the door open… and there stands one of the treetrimmers. They’re gonna be working across the road from the house. OK… No problem…I come back in the house and grab the camera… back out I go!

or view link or view link
A short aside here… I was thrown off the net yesterday… or was it the day before… whichever! Bryan, my puter guy, had me remove all kinds of stuff… I am having a terrible time now. I am back on line but somehow we have managed to wipe out all the little conveniences that I have grown to know and love. So please bear with me.
Now, back to the Treetrimmers… I took the shots… I took a couple of pix of the road conditions… A little later, I heard a ruckus coming from the east. I look out the window and what do I see? Nope, not the sleigh and reindeer, I see the Treetrimmer truck and wood chipper stuck at the upper curve! Not again! Sheesh!
Well, them back wheels is just a spinning (Trying to back up)…No go! The driver’s side goes into the ditch. This stopped the forward movement. Driver gets out… Forman gets out of his truck. Between the two of them, they undo the wood chipper (Glen and I call this a pig chipper..another story here).
The guys get the chipper higher on the curve and off the road… Forman goes back and gets into his truck. Driver of big truck comes to passenger side to get in… he opens door and starts to slide down hill.
Now, he is hanging on for all he’s worth to the side of the door itself and the door frame. This poor guy can’t keep his feet under himself. He finally managed to get into truck with arm strength only. And off they went down hill.
I think I might have been better off had I never become a dispatcher. I was a lot more secure (in some ways) in my own little fantasy world.
Ice… I’ve done all I can do for the time being about the road/snow/ice problems. Talked to the CA’s office. Discussed possible solutions… and now, again, I sit and wait!
I don’t think I’ve forgotten anything… Oh, somebody mentioned my being stuck in the house. I am never lonely or alone. With the critters, neighbors, flyguys and people to pester, I can’t work lonely into my schedule. Well, maybe on Christmas Eve and what might have been….
Take care all of mine… Go in safety always… Remember to remember the good times… let go of the bad! And yes, Santa travels to the desert too. Camels like to find ice cubes in their stockings. Love you mine!
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter even if it is at yourself! Meems
MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!
TUESDAY EDITION… 2010*12*21 Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Come on in and get warm… how bout coffee or sumfin hot to drink to go with a scrumptious piece of white cake… 3 layers spread out and decorated to look like a snow man? Lolol Nose really looks like a carrot but is made of a candy orange slice! Lolol No, I didn’t make it. Shocked the heck out of me, but the cake was given to me by Sandy… the lady who was sliding around on the ice yesterday. Her daughter had baked/made the snowman cake. Sandy and her husband drove all the way up here late yesterday to give me the cake and a sketch book... and to return my hoe. This was unexpected and I was stunned … almost to silence… notice I said almost! Lolol I did ask if the cake was ‘no’ calorie… and of course, Sandy replied ‘no’ calories. We cracked up… Would her tell a whopper… her who is a Sunday School teacher? Lolol Of course not! The other thing about her being a SS teacher? I was throwing a fit and cussing… Not really bad stuff but enuf… Anna tells me what she does, I reply “I don’t care if she is a SS teacher, I am P***ed!†Can I be unladylike… Oh yeah! Lolol Anna and Sandy both cracked up… lolol Anna on phone again by this time trying to help… Sandy in my paper toweled living room… (Ask me if I was embarrassed ) Well anyway, I’m writing this at 0500 hours Monday morning… yes, Monday morning. Couldn’t sleep again… let the critters out and warmed up a cuppa. I came up with a possible solution to this icy road problem… How does this sound? While the county crews are out with the plows, or just send a specific crew out with ‘road closed due to icy conditions’ or a variation of this info. I know it’s expensive to gravel or plow but something needs to be done… Maybe the barricades will be a cheaper solution. I’m going to call the county attorney’s office today and see if it is possible for the residents here to put these barricades out themselves. Butch, the good neighbor down the road, is willing to take care of this chore at his end of the road if need be. I’ll take care of the upper end as long as I can. Now, to the latest additions to the 6 pack. Sheesh, what have I done!?! Lolol … Last Friday, Beck called me and we were running our mouths. Nah, not us! Lolol Anyhow, she gets me to the PetFind place and we start chattering about the critters and where and how much… and and and. By the time we got on the phone I had decided I wanted a lab mix, if possible. Or Great Pyrenees mixed with lab… Ok, so we found the GP/L mix… young male at Lancaster… (I told you about that) Well, Saturday morning, I woke up at 0600. Waited til 0900 to call the animal shelter. I called… Wooooo Hoooo! They still had him. Wonderful… $70 + but he has all his shots; he’s neutered. My problem? Not able to come to their location… can we make some arrangements to get him here. Yes… YES! Ok! I told the lady that I would donate to the shelter and that I was interested in getting another dog later… a smaller dog. Wellllll, she starts telling me about this little dog… They call him Gremlin… now, check this…! Gremlin is part boxer (brindle and white markings)… part basset (you should see his ears…lol) and I swear he has some pointer in him. You should see his stance with right leg up. His neck is too long and so is his muzzle. His muzzle looks like boxer to start, then elongates into hound length nose. The bridge of the nose reverts to Boxer eyes and forehead. This boy is definitely a ‘committee’ style dog! The long neck reminds me of the whippet. Oh dear. Him is already sleep walking all over this very bruised by now body! Lolol The GP/L mix is about half as tall as the Newbie… Very stocky build… pink lab nose and big sad looking eyes. They called him Bashful. I don’t see him as bashful at all. He’s a little rowdy but that’s just the puppy in him. He sleeps on the floor at the foot of the bed… I think I will call him Rowdy… He’s already shown his protective side… Viva alarm barked and that quick, he was off the porch and out to Viva as her back up. Oh dear, I am running out of space before I’ve run out of words. To be continued… lolol Take care all of mine… Go in safety always. Remember to take each day as it comes with a positive attitude… We really do have a choice in the matter. Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter… And a very Merry Christmas! Meems PS… Had a convoy of county trucks go by the house..a/a 1848 hours…. Salt? Gravel? 3 trucks? It took a minute for the info to sink in! I closed the door and went into hysterics… hugs everybody!
