Saturday, 2010-1-23 Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!Hate to say this right at the beginning but, it is another sleepy day… Ground is colder than the air, have mists and fogs… Rain falling… chilly breeze out of the south east… Attack cat, the wrecking crew, Spudley and the unmade bed are all in the house…curled up in the covers. Couldn’t take a nap if I wanted to without starting an all out war! Lolol You can tell who runs my house… and it ain’t me! Lolol The Newbie is holding down the back porch and the Viva’s keeping watch out front. I am well protected. Sort of! Back to Attack Cat for a moment… She is turning into a real pain…. Went in the bathroom and found a whole roll of tpaper in the sink. Shredded, wet and soggy… Sheesh! Cleaned up that disaster… went into kitchen and found a demolished roll of paper towels. Rolls of paper towels do not fare well when used as horizontal scratching posts! Sure there’s nobody out there who wants a very bright but rotten to the core cat… shiny black cat? Marv? Yeah, there we go… Marv needs sumfin to keep him busy in his spare time… Instead of giving this nice lil ol lady (me) a hard time, he would be on the receiving end of ‘keep busy’. Couldn’t happen to a finer person .. cause I said so! Lolol Went out to check the mail box a bit ago…like I said before.. it is chilly out there… I am wearing scuffies, cut offs and an ancient sweatshirt. Basic rule of thumb when living in the mountains… When you go out the door, wear long pants! Can you say; ankles turned blue before I got back inside. Oh yeah. Anyway, I heard my red tail hawk scream… I whistled back.. She and I chatted for a minute or so… I really think she is complaining about the weather… Who wants to go hunting in the cold and miserable rain? Saw the good neighbor, AR, who lives up the road from me – next county over.. He’d been in the area hunting for rabbits… Said he didn’t see a one… But he confirmed that Mr. A is running around the area. (the Mountain Telegraph at work..lolol) Talked to Dorothy for a bit… she has a new baby goat… a little him. Lolol Baby goats are soooo cute… Some of the older goats were playing ‘king of the mountain’ the other day when I went past. I got so tickled… critters are amazing and funny. They do play. Oh, the trip to town. Lolol In the lower fields, just above Dorothy’s, I saw 4 doe. White tails again… One watched me, two keep feeding and the fourth was bouncing around white flag just a flying… lololol I sat there for a few minutes to watch… The girls decided to go back up the mountain. I guess the noise of the truck made them tooo nervous. As I watched, they crossed the creek, started zig-zagging up the mountain side and disappeared while I was looking directly at them. Their colors blend in so well with the winter landscape, you can lose sight of them with no trouble at all. Farther up the road, I saw a flock of wild turkey… maybe a dozen… an unusually large number…Anna spotted a Bob Tail with two kittens in the middle of the road. Which reminds me, AR, asked my age… I told him…asked why… lolol He’s trying to understand why a “woman my age would live out here alone†on the mountain, “far†from town and help, on a badly kept county road. Lolol I had to laff. I didn’t even try to explain…â€Âthey†won’t let me move into town? I’ve been banned in Boston? (Thank you Annie) I’ve got a whole list of reasonable things! I think maybe he’s concerned about mr a bothering me… Oh, that’s another thing… mr a was at a small grocery store (not the two pumper) Thursday causing a problem. People at the store called the police… mr a was allegedly under the influence. Let’s see here… What else? Oh, the Boss! Him done another gotcha on me… Once I stop giggling and can get my buns off the floor, I will get even! LOLOL After I complained about the phone lines/fiber optics problems out here, he told me how to correct the problem! Don’t even think about asking! Gots to watch the Boss… him are quick on the comeback! Thanx Sweets, I needed the laff! Later all… take care and go in safety always. Remember that even tho the sun is not shining at the moment, it will return! Many hugs, much love and lots of laffter… meems
Monday, 2010-1-18…1200 hours
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home.OK, so I can’t get on the net at the moment… Phone service is down… Now, it is one thing to choose not to go on line. A whole different thing when the service is taken away from you. I think I am gonna be grumpy… I went out front… waited by the mail box for a passer-by. Finally… Red mini-van stopped for me… Driver called me by name.. Have no idea who the guy is. Yes, all phones are down in the area… several telephone trucks down the road working on the fiber optic lines. Oh goody! I do wish they would notify us when they are going to do this. If the public is going to be without service because of a scheduled up grading or or or, they should be notified/advised in advance…Emergencies, etc., will happen. We all know emergencies happen… no problem with that… It is absolutely gorgeous out side right now… a little chilly with the air moving but 60° and the sun is shinning! Just might throw some clothes on (yes, I am in the old red robe) to go outside to watch the critters play… I get so tickled at the Wrecking Crew… They have figured out how to use the pick up as a safety factor deterrent. Lololol Big dog chasing? They race for the underside of the pickup… Them little feetsies just a flying. Grins plastered on lil faces, tongues out, eyes twinkling… lololol Under the truck they go… don’t miss a step nor slow down… Out the other side…Sailing past me. I’m cracking up… Here comes the Spudley… Them short legs just a ‘gittin’ it! He’s a smidgeon too tall to clear the truck without almost crawling. Viva, who is also runnin’ for all she’s worth, comes to an abrupt halt on the far side of the truck. The best she can do is look … then make the trek around the end of the truck! The Wrecking Crew are long gone by this time. Then there’s the Newbie and the Lilyputz… What can I say? They both are flopped on their sides… out in the nice warm…soaking up the rays! Can’t be bothered with this playing tag… Must give the appearance of dignity ?, regality ?, Read lazy and sleepy. Ah yes,… Mad dogs and Englishmen…. Lololol 1500 hours, +/- Lolol Well, I rec’d my rifle scope! Took it out to play. Sat alongside the drive way. Well, I ain’t too sure how this thing works yet… but I would twist the little dial thingy… aim the scope… peek thru. It goes from 3 to 9 power… Has it’s lil cross-hairs. Amber lens cover… OK… I manage to zero in on the hill behind the house. I see the trees… I see the electric line to the new nitelite…Wowser! I see the line coming in from the road. Now what… I see lines where there shouldn’t be any. Does this thing see around corners… I check the tube itself… I check the ends of the scope… nope, no openings. No little angled mirrors… What the heck am I seeing? The instructions were in the house next to the computer. Naturally, where else would they be when I am outside? Lolol I finally recovered from my ‘duh’ moment and realized I was seeing the cross-hairs and one elec line! Shut up, all you guys. Now quit! I ain’t never used one before! And I do have the giggles! Sheesh! My BBSBs went over while I was out there… Not much in the way of contrails and I didn’t even try to find them in the scope… I’ll get the hang of it or not… lolol Anyway, I waved and threw kisses and hugs… but I didn’t flash today. Was too chilly to bare anything. I’m being bad. Then the delivery guy from the propane company showed up. Nice man… I walked to the tank with him and explained the dead snake remains. He filled the tank (topped it off) and I didn’t have to remove the remains. Hey Sheila… ya got yourself a winner… gotcha! Oh, I heard from Albin(one of mine)… seems like he won a really neat sled in a raffle. He says he has lots of snow over there in Germany for the first time in years. He sent the sled to his grandkids. How great for the kids. Guess I am outa here for a while… Take care all of mine.. go in safety always. Remember to read the instructions first and especially remember the cross-hairs of life! Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter… meems

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home.
Sorry about sleeping late today. Critters got me up at noon. LOLOL They are so funny. However, it is not so funny when you have critters tap dancing on your belly button. I will give them this… Tap dancing sure does get your attention!
Yesterday was my trip to town right? Down the hill? “O’er the fields and thru the snowâ€Â, to greater downtown Booneville we go, right? Lolol Well, it sort of worked that way…
SOP for a day to town begins with rounding up critters and getting them inside the house. I get dressed, paint and patch the old barn…choose the right boots (non-slide) just in case I get stuck and need to do some walking. Wear warm clothes, several layers, again… just in case… And yes, I remembered to wear red.
Well, I get all the critters in except Viva. No problem… She will follow the truck a ways but usually stops at the lower curve. Then she goes back up the hill to guard the house til I return home. Magic word here is ‘usually’!
Not yesterday, uh uh, no way… She is still following me ¾ of a mile later. I stop the truck… get out… open passenger door. Viva just stands there. Hmm! I picked that 100 pound dog’s butt up and throw her onto the passenger seat. Anybody want a dog?!? Seemed like she was going to follow me all the way to town… Well, Ratz…
I climb back in and discover I am covered with mud! My neat navy blue slacks have now turned into a midnite type of camo with white ghillie trim! The seat of the truck is covered with muddy paw prints…Next week, I’ll just wear my camo’s and not worry about getting muddy.
I did, however, make it down the hill in one piece. Still icy in the shady spots but it was 58 degrees when I left the house. Figured more would melt by the time I got home. Melting snow run off makes this whole road slick… but I made it both ways with no real problems…
Now, to town…
I stopped at the Action Team… Gave everybody a hard time… (What? Who? Me?) Oh yeah. Got thrown out and headed for Kim’s office.
Well, some bad news here…The office was ‘closed’. Kim’s daughters had been involved in an injury accident last week… The one had some serious injuries but was finally on her way home. Take care Kim and young’uns… Have an appointment for this coming Tuesday afternoon… Will try again if the snow doesn’t get tooooooo deep!
Next, I stopped at the courthouse… Wooooo Hooooo…. I got hugs from everybody… Tormented the Sheriff, his deputies, his clerk… The jailers… Then to Sid’s office… got thrown out of there…To the PVA office to talk to Luly for a min… she was busy! I head for the side door of the court house. Arrive to find several people staring out the door at my truck… Seems they were discussing Viva… lolol I cracked up…
Found that Mr A was back in town for a court appearance. ? Oh yeah!
Now, what else… Oh, on the way in to town, I had an advertising life squad pass me going the other direction. I pulled to the side of the road and stopped. The driver of the vehicle behind me, who had been riding my bumper, started laying on the horn. I’ve decided the world is full of idiots. As soon as I could get to a side road, I pulled over to let this idiot pass. Safety first… I really wanted to pound the person to a pulp but I’ve been told I’m not allowed to do this… It’s a no no! Ah, but the temptations!
Stopped at the Family Dollar store for a few… lolol The people who work there are wonderful… I walk in the door and the insults start flying! Lolol The unknowing customers look startled… The other customers, who know the routine, gather round and start giggling!
And EVERYBODY goes outside to check out the Viva. Lolol .. General agreement follows… She is a BIG dog...and she is still growing. We then discuss the Newbie… Oh dear! If Viva takes up the whole front seat, we wonder out loud about the space Newbie will take up or have hanging out the windows… will I be able to get in the truck to begin with?… Will I be able to drive? I can just barely shift gears with Viva in there with me.
Yes, I drive a 6 gear pick up… Toyota… 4 forward, 1 road travel and then there’s always reverse. Love that lil truck…She’s an older model but she takes good care of me out on the road and puts up with my nonsense.
Anyhow, I made it home in one piece, dog aside. Made it thru the bad places on the road. Pulled into drive… unloaded dog (read I had to drag her out) Took the stuff I bought at the dollar store inside. Turned around and went back outside to sit in the sun for a few.
I am allergic to the sun and cannot get out much in the summertime at all… A sunny winter day is a whole different thing. Lolol My BBSB’s went over… I waved and flashed and hugs and threw kisses and giggles… I wasn’t out there 15 mins and I was burning up. Peeled off the bright red fleece jacket. (no, I did not do a dance, Marv)
Later all.. Take care; go in safety always. Remember that each day can be a new adventure… or not… lolol
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter… meems

WELCOME HOME!
Come on out here on the porch a while and set in the sun! Yup, that big bright shiny thing is the SUN!…. Not nary a cloud! The temp got up to 60 today! SIX-ZERO DEGREES! My eyes did not deceive me! Lolol
Went out to the mail box and to talk to the rabbit hunters who were working the fields between the curves. Checked on the road conditions… According to the hunters, the road below the house has improved greatly… Thank goodness…
I fed all the critters… the wild ones too while I was out there. Lolol The cardinals have discovered the bedroom window and the bush outside it… Can you see the small herd sitting in the branches?… looking pitiful?… and cold and miserable?… lolol Oh dear!
LOLOL A lesson learned… just today… Did you all know that you cannot stuff wet feet into sheepskin mocs? Absolutely does not work!
Another one for today? Do NOT go out in melting snow with scuffy slippers on your feet. Snow will find its way between the scuffy part and the bottoms of your feet! Have you ever done an involuntary snow dance? All by myself in the front yard.. letting out a yelp… Hunters across the road watching this crazy old woman squalling and kicking in the front yard… Yes, I was dressed! No red robe this time… and just how did I manage that?
I saw some of my flyguys up there in the clear blue… short contrails today. Got flashed… lolol Again, in front of the hunters… What was left of my reputation got shot down today for sure! Lololol Sort of made my day tho! Now I DO have the giggles… lolol
I gave Annie a call today… Did you know that woman is nutz! AND a very bad influence on me. Lordy pete! I just know she is going to get us banned in Boston or Knob Hill or someplace…She cracks me up… and she heard the Newbie and crew doing their sing-song… lolol All noses pointed straight up… Shattering the sound barrier. Sheesh… I think I need some ear plugs… they do get loud!
Anyway, Annie found me on Facebook… oh dear….lololol I know absolutely nothing about Facebook but I will learn… Necessity will develop my skills… I hope!!!
Some not so good news here… I’ve resigned as manager of all my groups. Just cannot keep up the pace anymore and I have had to cut back on some of my responsibilities… I am really working on my health problems. It’s a bear getting older sometimes… Course the alternative is permanent and grim… lolol Also would make my enemies too happy!
I don’t want any of mine to feel abandoned nor alone. As long as I am able I will be here for all of you. You all can email or pm me any time… I can still listen and try to help. Email is emom101@prtcnet.org In an emergency, you call me at 606-593-7457! Anytime!
Lets see here…. What else? Goofy critters have been driving me crazy! In/out, out/in!
Here’s sumfin I forgot to tell you about the burial site on the river flats. Not being disrespectful but it is funny….!
And so to continue… I think it was on Wednesday that week in December. Cold blustery and rainy. Totally miserable but someone, God love em, had put up plastic covered A frames to protect the burial sites. Tim assigned me to burial 13. (can’t help but wonder if there was a message there)
Anyway, I worked carefully after building a cofferdam on the high side of the site to keep the rain out. Clearing away the soil and making sure none of the artifacts were moved and remain in situ. No problems.
Tim stops by… checks the excavation and says lets ‘clean this up some’… All the removed soil was piled on a sheet of plastic. Tim gathers the corners of the plastic and starts to push the corners under the edge of the A Frame. He tells me to go outside… grab the corners and tug the dirt/plastic out while he lifts the side of the A Frame. I am to let him know when I am ready. (you know where this is going don’t you?)
Well, I go out the opening…around to the side…bend over and grab hold of the plastic. I start to say… ‘uh’ while pulling and tugging… Tim lifts the A Frame as soon as the ‘uh’ falls out of my mouth.
Now, hanging onto the plastic corners for dear life, I promptly fall over backwards and land in a shallow grave behind me. Again, not being disrespectful here, I didn’t realize I had bruised my buns for two days because it took that long for them, my buns, to thaw out. It gets cold on them river bottoms!
Now before I get into any more trouble… I am outa here for a while…
Take care all of mine…go in safety always. Remember to stay away from the river bottoms during winter.
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter. meems

WEAR RED DAY!
Ok, ok! Maybe today I will get my act together… lolol or not! I had two whole pages of mostly nonsense written yesterday and somehow managed to lose all of it! Can you say cuss and fuss? Lolol
Well, let me see here… I made it to the grocery store… searched 4 or 5 diff places looking for lamp oil… nada, zilch, no way, no where! None at all in two counties…
I must tell you that GC managed to make it up the hill… packed snow and all…Not an ounce of gravel out there. There is, however, an ice rink not too far from the blacktop road. I did get extra kitty litter for that spot just in case we had problems getting back to the house…
I found candles and tea lites though.. put a glass chimney over a candle and you will end up with radiant heat… I don’t like having open flames around the house because of the critters… but sometimes… there is no choice.
A neighboring county has been totally without water for than a week now. Nat’l Guard has been hauling drinking water to Perry County.. the whole northern section is shut down because of a large landslide event that took place on Dec. 19th… took out primary water main…
I need to mention I DO have a bathtub full of water again. Just in case the elec goes off again. The pilots lights are still going. (snake helped that situation a lot) Have cupboard full of canned goods. I got the reg candles and more tea lights. More coffee but I forgot to check on the old fashioned coffee pot. Next time… I want to get a heat tape to wrap around the outside water faucet. Again, just to be on the safe side…
I’ve gots ta tell ya the wind was fierce up here last nite. I went out to the kitchen for sumfin and heard the side door rattling… Maybe a critter? I went to look… opened the storm door and was almost yanked out on the porch… The wind was screaming… eerie sound up here on the mountain side.
Did I remember to tell you I finally managed to get the lid off the grain bin? I took my walking stick out to the truck and whacked on the side of the bin! Ice broke up and I was able to get to the grain… lololol whomp whomp whomp! Well, the crows were sitting out back looking miserable, cold and dejected… they weren’t even complaining…
I’ve heard my fly guys go over but haven’t seen a one for more than a week… I bundled up and went out a little bit ago… To the mail box and to the grain bin… I threw some feed out but didn’t wander down the hill to the usual place. If my feet had slipped out from under me, I would have eventually ended up in Anna’s front yard… She don’t need no extra mouths to feed neither… lolol
It sure is slippery out there… paw prints all over the place… the snow is crunchy underfoot. The wind is blowing nicely. (that’s a lie!) The temp is dropping rapidly. Wind chill is awful! All the dogs are in. My bed has been arranged to their liking if that tells you anything. Newbie is out in the hall starting his sing-song… I am crackin’ up…
I’ve had the giggles all afternoon… Have I told you I have some really strange friends? Becky called and was telling me some funny stories… one about a guy falling into an open burial site at a cemetary. I told her about the Indian Burial grounds at Cleves, OH.
Now, don’t anyone get upset about the Native American site at Cleves… It was an emergency rescue dig at the electric plant.
Bull dozers were leveling a spot near the Ohio river at the power plant… Intending to put up storage tanks/buildings…Dozer uncovered many grave sites..(possibly Post-Adena). Volunteers were needed. I volunteered my time and efforts to salvage what we could of the remains. Long drive during the first week of a very cold and windy December but I loaded up my brush, trowel and a diamond shaped palette knife. Off I went!
When I arrived at the location, I was told we only had 3 days to work on the site. No extension or thots of one.
Well, when this frozen body got home that Sunday, I sent a telegram to the then Governor of the state of Ohio… Explained the situation. No reply. John, my ex wanted to know how I could do that…I hadn’t even voted for the man? My reply? Somebody had to do it… and the Gov doesn’t know that I didn’t vote for him! Ex just shook his head… !
Had to go elsewhere on Monday … On Tuesday, I hit the road again. Arrived on site and had to ponder for a few on what I was seeing.
Young men in trench coats, shiny shoes, shiny briefcases…wandering ankle deep in the sticky clay mud of the river flats. They were NOT dressed to work… not there anyway. I go to find Tim Dalby, the director of the dig… ask what’s going on? Find out that UC Anthropology now has an unlimited stay. This is truth… I still have pix of the pottery and projectile points… These were published in the Hamilton Journal-News.
The remains and the burial items were respectfully taken to UC… if anybody might be interested… Occurred maybe 35 years ago…
I don’t know how I got onto that subject… I Do digress…lolol You know, now that I think about it… most women wouldn’t have done that back then.. lolol I guess I’ve always been a little weird… and there was NO telling me no! Then or now!
Anyhow, it is snowing harder out there right now… need to go make some coffee… just in case…and before I forget… a certain person, who shall remain nameless, is really in trouble… Get me tickled, will you? You know who you are! I will get even… lololol
Take care all of mine…Go in safety always. Remember that I am just like a loose cannon on the ship of life… and then some… lololol
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter! The still giggling meems

Tuesday 1700 hours
Welcome home dear hearts, welcome home.
OK, I give up! Totally, irrevocably, with out a doubt, give up! LOLOL I can’t believe I did the following goof… I’ll get to that in a minute…
Have some coffee or sumfin .. get warmed up… Set back a spell and relax….Too cold and snowy to do much else. ….. lolol
I get up this morning to let the critters out/in/out/in…. I head for the bathroom… potty time…
Hmmm…. Now what? I find two hair clips in the bath tub… the bath mats are balled up and on the verge of demolishment. The non-slip mats in the tub weren’t in any better shape.
Oh oh! The Lilah has been at it again! I check the bathroom sink… The plug is gone!
I go looking!
Was just in time to catch the Newbie getting ready to eat the plug… Rescued the plug… Now what do I do?… Ah… I can tied plug to faucets… Maybe a chain would be better?
Tee hee! I did a gotcha on the Marv yesterday… Remember the pink socks comment? Lolol Teach that boy to mess with me! Well, he gotchad me back today… Is this turning into a battle here… Him gonna have to get up real early to beat me! Crackin’ up!
Oh, the goof. Well, I had to go to the mail box… decided to see if pickup would start…
I kicked off my slippers and grabbed my old high top sheepskin mocs. Stand up and realize I have put the mocs on the wrong feet… Right feet; wrong moc? Well, I cracked up again… lololol I left them that way.. feet were covered, correct? Even tho the toes were pointing the wrong directions, my feetsies were warm!
I grab the keys and my walking stick and this time I go out the front door. Truck is sitting right there. Climb in and hit all the magic switches and up she starts… No problems at all… her is a good lil truck.
Anyway, I make a big circle out front and head her nose in toward the house… getting as close as I can… Heat radiating from house will help the old girl to stay a little warmer plus the house itself will act as a windbreak…
I think if I lived in town, ‘they’ would have already taken me away! Anna says my flyguys are gonna drop a net on me one of these days… Ya suppose? Lololo
Now another thing… Bad storm supposed to be coming in on Thursday. I am out of a lot of things needed if the elec goes out again… Well, Grasscutter called today to check on me… Will come and get me tomorrow to take me shopping… The little Save-a-lot shopping center has most of everything I will need… Groceries and supplies.
I called Kim’s office and rescheduled my appointment again… I know, I know.. but supplies come first… Lamp oil, regular candles… canned goods but not too many frozens…Just in case… til Spring gets here… Won’t do a bit of good to have new Rx’s if I don’t have enuf stuff to survive another power outage. Last year’s ice storm was a bear with a sore paw for a lot of people… I was lucky up here… we kept our power…
Owsley County had some spotty power outages this morning… I was ok tho… The mail got thru… Yes! No bills! Lolol
Back to ‘attack cat’ and the six pack for a moment… I’ve discovered the hard way I am outnumbered, out-gunned, out-thunk, out-smarted and out-maneuvered…those are just for starters.
Take care all of mine… go in safety always. Remember to… hmmm… ahhhh… I forget! Lololol
Many hugs, much love and bushels of lafter… meems
2010-1-4 Monday 1443 hours WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME! Wowser… Get yourselves in here and warm up! Lordy pete… it is cold, windy and snowy out there. I feel sorry for any one who must work outside in this stuff. It’s bad enuf out there that the Viva has decided to come inside! She is, at this moment, taking up a lot of space on my bed! Anybody want a rotten no account cat?!? Gee, I thot the 6 pack was bad… The Delilah has discovered the little removable strainer thingy in the bathroom sink! She also knows how to remove it! So far, I’ve found it in the bedroom… the bathroom floor and the hallway near the kitchen! The strainer now resides, in safety, in the medicine cabinet. The plug is firmly taking the place of the strainer thingy. We’ll just see how long it stays there… I have laffed at the Lilah and the Spudley… I told Spud to ‘get the kitty’ and he did! Lilah is flopped on her side… all relaxed but interested. Spud booted her in the belly with his nose… pulled on her tail… play barked at her. He would grab a leg… The ears went back and flat against the head on the Lilah… Spud didn’t back off. He’d give her a poke… she’d bat him on the nose. Just enuf nails showing to barely get his attention. No yips from the Spud. This play thing went on for a good ten minutes… I am cracking up… Spud looks up at me… just a grinning. Delilah went back to sleep! Hey everybody… go check out Blooming Boomers. The Boss has posted an email clip I forwarded from the JC. Posting title is ‘Canadian Police Chase’. I have watched it numerous times and crack up every time I see it! Lololol What were they thinking? Gots the giggles! I’ve finished Oedipus Rex. Read a spooky book.. Born Burning. Started reading manuscript of some of the side stories of Troy. Worked on the Daisies painting…Well, I kind of scraped the paint off some parts. When things aren’t working, have no choice! Lololol Did a load of dark (paint) clothes last nite! Why do I add this? Because… Duh Paula! If I wash the dark work clothes first maybe the rust might be run thru the system… Maybe, just maybe, my underwear will come out white! Well, one can always hope! lololol Are you paying attention, Marv… Oh ye of the pink socks!… lolol sorry, I couldn’t resist. However, for safety sake… I am heading for the fall out shelter for an unknown length of time… I don’t want to forget my flyguys either! Would you believe at least one of them BBSBs has buzzed my roof top again? Rattled my coffee mug a couple of times since the end of the month! That’s ok… I will get even… I will get some bright paint the next time I go to town… Look on the east side of the house for the message! Be warned.! Gotcha kids! I’ve made an appointment to see Kim on Wednesday. I get to see the inside of the new building…I’ve already gotten the paper work done for the visit… all I need do is paint and patch the old body… Wear extra layers of clothes and hope the roads aren’t icy. And I did something this morning I have NEVER done before in my life…I called the county’s Judge Magistrate’s office… I’ve asked to have gravel or sumfin put on the road/hill/curves below the house. I DO need to get in to see Kim. What I call the lower curve… is just that… It is the second curve, just below the house, banked the wrong way, no guard rails, last to thaw spot on this road…It is really a rough down hill road. Normally, I just stay home when the roads are bad. This time I don’t have much of a choice. I must mention Tcornish who is a moderator, poster in several military groups. He faithfully and quietly posts the latest VA updates to help ours. A man dedicated to helping keep ours informed… WAY TO GO, TC! Thank you… Out of here for now. Take care… go in safety always. Remember to evaluate each animal you take in. Make sure they are not smarter than you are… Trust me! Many hugs, much love and gallons of lafter… meems

WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME
Well, it looks like things will be totally iffy for the time being. New Rx was a disaster… went back to old one… Think I’m gonna survive… or not… lolol
Bed rest! Talk about your basic boring! I’ve even watched Jesse Ventura and the World’s Dumbest Criminals… lolol
Now, I’ve read some really bad critiques of Ventura’s program… It is more than a little over the top. However, he proposes some interesting ideas about 9/11. The scary thing…? Unfounded or not, the ideas posited, ARE within the realm of possibility and do-ability. How far we have come in our loss of trust in our politicians in today’s world. Remember the time when we implicitly trusted our government?
The last few days have not been completely dull though… Have had hunters, dogs, snow, ice, deer hide, skull and spine in my field… the road is ice covered… and worst yet? The IRS 1040A has arrived!
I went out to get some feed for the birds… lid to bin is ice covered and frozen on… could NOT get it open. Was all of 18o when I woke up.
Took the cam out with me… took some pix of the hide and skull… I know, I know… Yucky pucks! I don’t make these things up. Honest, I don’t. I took the pix to show that these things are true. You can see the pix on my profile page. They might gross some people out tho.
I used my hand made walking stick. One of the guys I worked with years ago made it for me. Painted it a shiny black. It’s not a cane; it is a true ‘walking/hiking’ in the woods type stick!
I had to cut about 4†off the narrow end for it to be just right for me. I applied a circle of caulking compound to slip proof the bottom… It works great…at least I don’t fall over when I’m outside.
Let’s see… If I read the Marv’s comments correctly, I am not allowed to be under the weather. I think that’s what he means. Good grief, I am still pondering and searching for the correct translations… lololol
What else..? I need to ask if anybody out there knows what day of the week it is. I keep thinking today is Sunday? And last Friday was not January 1st, the 1st was on Thursday? LOLOL I seem to be developing a serious problem with the calendar! Does any one else have this problem or is it just me?
Another thing… I’ve started exercising. Oh yeah…Slow but sure… that’s me! I’m hanging onto the bed post .. jogging in place! Started out at jogging for one minute… then, 1 min 15 secs. Now, I am up to 2 mins a session. Doing this several times a day!
Yes, I know… it doesn’t sound like much but I am working my way up to 5 mins…then I will start Ballet Barre exercises… slow, easy but some of the best toning exercises I know of. I aim to work my way up to a half hour each day. I even have the materials to install a barre in the basement…
Did you ever sit and stare out the window… looking out at a miserably gray day… cold, windy.. blowing snow? Finally get up and ramble out to the mail box? Find a new set of catalogs arriving… Spring garden catalogs!
Did you ever wish you had a gazillion dollars? I ‘want’ a dozen of these… 6 of those… Oh, look at the colors! Oh, I can smell those blooms now. Easier to buy a packet of the seeds or buy the seedlings? Ponder, ponder….I’m going to try some scarlet poppies again. Maybe this year I will find a place they like and will grow. Poppies are finicky about where they want to live…
I’ve decided Spring garden catalogs are our hope for the new year… lolol We can sit and weave fantasies and not spend a dime… for the moment anyway! Lolol
I heard one of my flyguys up there…couldn’t see that BBSB but I waved anyway! I’m still waiting for the rifle scope to arrive… Be warned, mine. Lololol I’ve even thot about spray painting the snow with morse code… ‘Hi there’! Or sumfin like that… Neighbors think I am nutz anyway… why not prove it! Lololol Wish I had some of that road alert orange…
Think that’s it for the time being… Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember to look for them Spring Cats… they will keep you going!
Many hugs, much love… lots of giggles…meems
2009-12-29 Tuesday EMOMS’ MOUNTAIN NEWS
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home….
Get yourselves in here. Make yourself ta home.. All kinds of snacks setting around… Try some of Anna’s yummy Amish bread… no calories (I wish) lolol So good with some kind of hot drink… I recommend the cinnamon cider… Oh yeah!
You know, don’t you… there is an aftermath to the holidays? Yes, there are…!
The I ATE TOO MUCH syndrome… and I quote..†I shouldn’t have had that last bit of…†“I can’t resist taking a bit of candy, cake, turkey, ham when ever I pass the table, fridge, buffet.†Sound familiar?
Another Syndrome… “MY MIND WAS ELSEWHERE†Now here, I have a prime example:
The Marv had family and friends over for a Christmas brunch. He sent, at my request, pix of the table settings. Beautifully and simply done… Red napkins.
Well, let me tell you… red napkins in a washer load of white clothes can cause interesting effects. Would you believe the Marv even has pink socks! Lololol The worst part of this scenario? Marv says it’s all my fault that his socks and other assorted items are pink! I ‘should have told him’!
OK, my fault… MY fault… I should have told him? Not to be crude here, but does any one remember my comments on the ‘orange’ underwear? However, he is correct in one way… I did NOT tell him NOT to dump red napkins into the white clothes in the washing machine… Grammatically incorrect that last sentence but I am sure you get the idea.
I was talking to Anna after receiving this up-lifting bit of info from Marv… Told her about it… and we ended up in tears from laffing so hard… We agree that the Marv is a one of a kind… What kind, we are not sure! Lololol Gotcha again… !
And I have to tell you about the Wrecking Crew and the Viva! Viva is a frustrated herding dog… She will be to attempt a round up of the other dogs… especially near sun down… I am here to tell you that these ‘round ups’ are a riot… The Wrecking Crew are way ahead of Viva! She chases… they run for and under the pick up! Thumb their noses at Viva…Tails wagging and just a grinning!
Spud is madly in love with the Viva…he tries to help round up the smaller critters and he CAN manage to get under the truck. Ophie and the Pyggs split up and go different directions at the same time. Lolol Trust me, those two little ones have this escape thing down to a fine art… lolol Crack me up! lololol
So here I am again… outside… waving at my rotten flyguys.. (Anna is starting to refer to them as ‘flyguys) and giggling like crazy. I was freezing out there but watching the antics was too funny to get back inside! Lolol
TahDah! This sportsmans catalog I receive is having a wonderful cut price close out sale right now… I have ordered a rifle scope… good price… around $15 plus shipping… I’ve already forgotten the strength of the lens. Any way, I am gonna go out on the next clear day to check for that second window of the BBSBs. Meems is being bad! Lololol
Hey kids… remember too that there are lots of military/veterans groups out there…Give them your support. Help out with articles and pix when you can… Please…
I am out of here for now…
Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember to double check the white clothes for red items before you start the washing machine! Lolol
Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter, Meems
