CELEBRATE THE WINTER SEASON!  ENJOY ALL!
2009-12-14

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!

As we all know, I can get into trouble in a New York minute!  Well, I’ve started reading OEDIPUS REX…a very convoluted ancient Greek play written by the philosopher, Sophocles.  Storyline… A plague is visited upon a Greek city by the god Apollo… a punishment.

The main characters: the God, Apollo, the King [the President], his wife and a seer  [Supreme Court]. There is also a chorus (us) The death/killing of the previous king is one of the causes of Apollo’s anger.  The story goes downhill from there.  [You can re-arrange the parts and characters as you will.]  I’ve just barely gotten out of the prologue!

The passage of time changes Nothing but the location and the faces!…history repeats again and again. I know the ‘again’ and ‘again’ and ‘repeats’ are oxymorons but it is true! We never seem to learn.

The prologue points out the foibles of humanity/power and greed.  Sophocles, in his way, has predicted the future.  Moderns, in our way, seem to have foolishly decided to ignore the lessons of the past.

Everything in the play speaks loudly of modern times.  I think I’m done on this subject for the time being!  Lolol  or not!  I’m afraid I’ve found another soapbox!

Well, now that I have that off my chest…I have to tell you I have become addicted to the program ‘Criminal Minds’. Interesting concept!

Here I sit… trying to ponder the repercussions of history repeating itself.  And then the complaining starts… Ophie is sitting under my swinging chair … just a fussing for all she’s worth..  Now what?!?

I look down and see Spudley chewing on a bone.  Double check and yes, Ophie is under my chair and fussing at Spud.. Ophie wants the bone… Hmmm…

Spudley always seems to know when I am looking at him.  He drops the bone and comes straight to me… puts his front paws on my leg… I pet him and watch Ophie sneak around the Spud to grab the bone!

Hmmm… she fusses… I look…he drops bone… she grabs it and jumps up on the bed!  Have I just been used to aid and abet a rotten little sneaky girl dog?  My conclusion… He’s been had and so have I…  lolol  I also think I am in real trouble here!  It crosses my mind that I am liable to find the bone buried in the covers.  Should I check before crawling in?  lolol  You betcha!

CHRISTMAS AT ARLINGTON CEMETERY

I wonder why the press hasn't enlightened the public about it??

Arlington National Cemetery

Rest easy, sleep well my brothers.
Know the line has held, your job is done.
Rest easy, sleep well.
Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held.
Peace, peace, and farewell...

Readers may be interested to know that these wreaths -- some 5,000 -- are
donated by the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington,Maine. The owner, Merrill
Worcester, not only provides the wreaths, but covers the trucking expense as
well. He's done this since 1992. A wonderful guy. Also, most years, groups
of Maine school kids combine an educational trip to DC with this event to
help out. Making this even more remarkable is the fact that Harrington is in
one the poorest parts of the state.

Please share this with everyone on your address list. You hear too much
about the bad things people do. Everyone should hear about this.

I  wish I could do more.  I’m sorry Wayne… I can’t get the pics to come thru…Any one who can add the pic of the wreaths at Arlington?  I would greatly appreciate the help.

Be at peace all of mine.  Go in safety always.  Remember ours who gave so much!

Many hugs, much love and warm hugs to all… meems

HAPPY WINTER DAYS TO ALL!

2009-12-13 1406 HOURS

WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME!

Let me tell you sumfin! It may say 49° on the thermometer but it sure doesn’t feel like that outside…It is wet drizzly and miserable…

I crawled back in to take a nap… just me, 4 little dogs and a cat. Talked on the phone. Answered emails. Checked to see what the dogs were fussin’ about… two very beautiful white tail does across the road between the curves. The

The following is from my good and longtime friend Wayne… aka LJ. Thank you, dear heart, for your service and your sacrifices… You are valued!

*******wayne*******
Will you give this to my Daddy?

As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support 'Red Fridays.'

Last week I was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.

Moving through the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.

When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.

Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal.

Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said 'hi.'

The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her.

The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her Daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.

The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.

When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying 'your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.'

The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event.

As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American.

RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority'. We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers.

We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing.. We get no liberal media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions. Many American, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops.

Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.

If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever; certainly more than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is...We need your support and your prayers.

Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday.

WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE.
THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED -- SO WEAR RED!

MAY GOD HELP AMERICA TO BECOME ONE NATION UNDER GOD AGAIN.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL – ENJOY!

2009-12-12 1230 hours

Welcome home, Dear Hearts, welcome home!

Get in here and get warm…. Not near as cold as yesterday but still bundle up weather! Help yourselves to anything you want… If it looks like we are getting short on supplies, would you make a note on the grocery list? Would appreciate it. Knowing me though, I’ll probably walk right out the door and leave the list hanging on the refrigerator door! Lolol Been known to do that more than once… AND, it has nothing to do with age! Lolol

Went outside yesterday for a bit. Yes, I bundled up. Out to the mailbox, junk mail…tis the season. To the truck to get some bird feed…lolol the crows started complaining as soon as I went out the door. Sheesh…! Wandered down slope to the feeding spot. Six pack hot on my heels… Oh yeah! I spread the feed and trundled (one of my favorite words) back upslope. (I did remember to set the wind gauge up right.) The critters were all on their bellies, chomping up their faves. Crows were still complaining. Dogs were in their way!

Looked out the east window this morning and saw a herd of Cardinals, one turtle dove and sprinkling of winter coated goldfinch (wild canaries). Blue Jays were out there too. Saw the Viva, nose to the ground like a vacuum cleaner, searching through the area looking for leftovers. Lolol No crows out there yet… they must sleep late.

I discovered the berry bush is now just a bush. Been picked clean by them hungry lil critters…

I been bad… A friend and I send one or two word weather reports to one another almost daily. Well, today, I took a word from mythology to describe the weather conditions. Lolol and that’s all the hint I will give! That’s ok tho… Yesterday’s mail had the nick name of an old time gangster. I got even today! And now I am heading for the fall out shelter… Pay backs are coming my direction. Lolol I love it! Now, if the snow will just cover my tracks!

Let’s see, what else. Oh, the snowball fight on Blooming Boomers! It’s still going on… if you go there to see what’s going on, bring your own supply of snowballs and bundle up. Gonna be a long day! Go, kids, go!

Ya know, I think it’s gonna take me a while to get used to Suzy Blue Wire’s new name. Yup, it is. RiReg just doesn’t conjure up the picture of the lady with her feet propped up surrounded by lots of blue stuff! Gotcha! Lolol

I think that’s all for today… got a little carried away yesterday. Re the Christmas card… I know there are some errors in it but I am still learning… lolol There, with his nose burrowing into the snow is my very first yellow lab… The one and only Winslow (Homer) He was named after the famous artist.

view link

This is the dog that could sneak onto a water bed without making a wave. The one who would put his front feet on one side of me… the hind feet on the other side. The results of which pinned me in the water bed so he could give me a slurp… lolol All the thrashing around in the world on my part resulted in NOTHING! That dog would look me right in the face and grin! I am squalling like a banshee and he just sits there grinning! Tell me dogs aren’t smart and don’t have a sense of humor!?! Got the giggles just thinking about it.

Then there was nothing like Glen’s arrival around 2330 hours from work. Eleven O’clock, the Winslow would go to the landing at the top of the stairs and just lay there quietly. Then the tail would start to thump…Win would sit up and start grinning!

“Here comes the Glen!” Glen would fight his way up the steps… Now, one of two things would happen. Glen would go into the bathroom… (me in the waterbed right? Reading?)
Next thing I know, I am being pelted with rolls of toilet paper!

Well, me being the nice, lady like (bite your tongue, Boss) person I am, I pitched them back! In the middle of this, Winslow has jumped on the water bed! I am bouncing up and down! Book lands on the floor… Screaming and caterwauling. Then Glen plops himself across the foot of the bed… Grabs the Winslow and the battle begins… I am now sitting crossed legged hanging on to the head board for dear life while those two brats wrestle.

Glen is threatening the Winslow with bodily harm! Winslow as happy as a clam… grinning and slobbering. The two of them finally start to settle down some…Glen looks at me finally and says: “Hi Mom!” My perfect ending to the day. I sleep.

Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember to be careful for what you ask… the gods may send you a large yeller lab should you be that lucky. Lolol

Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter. The remembering the old days meems

Merry Christmas everybody!

TODAY IS WEAR RED DAY!  DON’T FORGET NOW!

2009-12-11

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!

Sheesh…Can you say freeze your bunnies off?  Man, it do be cold out there.  Have no idea what the wind-chill is.  Even the Newbers came inside last nite.  The pond froze over.  You should see the biggy dogs trying to break thru it for a drink.

Have you ever seen clips of polar bears trying to break thru the crust of a seal breathing hole.   They put all their weight behind those front paws then bounce down on the ice.  Works for them and the dogs.  Lolol

Would you guys believe the Garymeister is blaming me for the snow ball fight on Blooming Boomers?  Me?  The Bloomer Girl?  This sweet lil old lady?  Quiet, laid back, dignified me?  Would I do sumfin like that?  Would these lovely sea green eyes lie to you?  Lolol  You bet your bippy, I would!  Told ya I’d getcha Boss… lololol  hugs  Actually, the Marv sent it to me and told me I could NOT send it back to him… Boy!  Was he wrong.   I nailed him too!

And the Marvin obviously doesn’t have any thing better to do than pick on this (see the above descriptors) very nice person!  Sheesh, he sent me some cartoons that absolutely knocked me off my chair… So funny but way too ornery to post…  Would get me banned in Europe!  Lolol

I have a semi-serious question to ask here:  Has anyone else noticed the progression of “Pong” into the military drone?  Started 30+ years ago.  Somebody out there was brilliant and VERY far sighted.

I must mention here too the many offers of swapping, giving, all that junk from my friends.  Thank you, I think!  One has a cat who gets her up at 0530…did I want to swap for my 0700 cat.  Nooooooo!  I don’t think so!

One mentioned her all white dog who disappears in the falling snow.   Can you say white out?

All of which brings me back to the snow storms…. Lolol

My first job as dispatcher… We had snow blowing and falling all over the Cinti tri-state area.  Had to hold the first shift over to assist.  I get there early for second shift and start answering the phones.

Second shift is always steady busy… That day, it was horrific!

Now, let me tell you that people/drivers seem to go nutz during a snow… no matter how little or much.

Back up one… I275 freeway circles the outskirts of Cincinnati.  There is a major exit from 275 north onto Rt. 4.  Rt. 4 was always well maintained by the state of Ohio.  A couple of miles past the Rt 4 exit is a secondary exit to the north.  Secondary exit by -passes a heavily trafficked area of Fairfield City.  Secondary exit ran right into a foot or more of snow that day.  I was the only dispatcher on duty.

Can you traffic accidents galore?  Oh yeah!  EVERYBODY took the uncleared secondary!

Let’s see here… had a woman having a baby in a vehicle at a traffic jam.   A man was having a heart attack… the snow kept falling. The fire stations were snowed in… ditto the life squads.

Well, one of the fire stations had a jeep.  Squad got to jeep… went en route .. then promptly went into a ditch… Everybody calling for tow trucks!  (You know sumfin.  Tow truck drivers are amazing!  Way to go guys!)

I have no idea how the officers or the fire units made it to the emergency locations but they did.  The lady had the baby at the hospital … The heart attack victim was transported to the hosp and survived.  No serious injuries in the accidents… mostly fender benders… but the reports!  OMG!  The reports.

Now in the middle of this madness and mayhem,  a woman calls.  Wants to know if it’s snowing on 275!  Well, I sort of lost it!  Not sort of, I did!

With the Police Chief and the City Manager standing in the doorway not 3 feet from me…”Ma’am!  Look out your window!  If it is snowing out there; it is snowing on 275!”

Well, the Chief looked at the City Manager and simply said: ‘she must be talking to one of her kids”  I cracked up.  The situation was never mentioned again.  I guess it was simpler to keep me as a dispatcher than it was to hire and train another.

I am off to see what I can get into this morning.  With 7 degrees out there, I think I’ll stay inside for the time being.  Take care all of mine.  Go in safety always.  Remember to take care of the wild critters in this weather… We need to keep them around.  Also BOLO for snow ball attacks!  lololol

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter.  Meems

Merry Christmas all of mine!  Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!

REMEMBER TO WEAR RED TOMORROW FOR ALL OF OURS.  I AM GONNA SEND BROOM ON AN AROUND THE WORLD TRIP TO CHECK!

Get in here and get warm… Help yourselves to any thing you can find!  Me, I am munching on the Hot and spicy Cheez-its!  The coffee pot threw a fit again yesterday…  the ‘maker part’ has glued itself to the counter top.  I think I’d best go find the ‘lady toe’ pry bar which is smaller and more delicate than a regular one.  I’ll get that baby loose;  you just watch!

Well, I talked to a service rep at RX company this morning… lolol  He and I have chatted before… He sounds so cute with his northern plains accent… Him is in Minnesota!  Asked him if it was still snowing his way… Oh yeah…  My meds are on the way… someplace between here and there!  Were processed on the 4th of Dec. but could still be a few more days.  OK…

Then we swapped a few snow ‘tales’  … wished him a Merry Christmas and got off the line.

[ Gots to tell you that about an hour after I take that pill… I feel miserable… My innards turn to a quivering jelly.  Never had a reaction like that before…lolol  Good news is, I am feeling a lot better.  My BP has gone from 220/95 to 140/88. This is a very good thing but I sort of feel like I’ve been run over by a tank!  Lolol]

Back to the snow and wind up here…My little wind gauge was just a working itself to death on its temporary pole…Registered gusts up to 35 mph.  The next thing I know, the pole is on the ground…gauge has its nose buried in the grass.

I started thinking about all the ‘first’snow days I had worked.  Lolol  I’m sure I told you about the time I slid under the Datsun because of ice in the parking lot.  There I was flat on my back… Not hurt a bit but scared to death one of the detectives would look out the window and see me!  I would never have heard the end of it.  I’m sure Nan remembers tho.

Then there was the officer who stated “people do crazy things when they are around water”.  I would always reply: “they, people, are worse when they get around frozen water”  Then, the two of us would argue the merits or lack thereof  between plain water and frozen.  We’d both end up hysterical before we went our different ways.

This is for my flyguys…  Listen up, you rascals!  I heard you out there yesterday. Heldoctors rattling my roof top, my cb antenna, and my coffee!  I swear I went down the back steps a couple of times.  No coat nor hat… Couldn’t see ya all.  Second time I went to the end of the porch and there you were!  Several of you…  I think one flashed me but I won’t swear to it.  You guys must have been right over the house when I first went out.

And then today, I am sitting here minding my own business and I hear a BBSB going over the house.  I race to the side door and out on the porch… Some little shelter from the wind there but not much.  I waved and threw hugs.  No coat or anything again so I didn’t stay out long.

Getting tired kids… Take care all of mine.  Go in safety always.  Remember sometimes the little things can be the most fun!

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter… meems   2009-12-10

REMEMBER OURS – TOMORROW IS WEAR RED DAY!

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home.

2009-12-3 0739 hours

Get in here, grab some coffee and get some toast and jelly… Or what ever else you can find… lolol  I have the sleepies again/still.  Lolol Had to pry the critters out of the covers so I could throw them out the door…Can you say spoiled?  Lordy pete.. There goes the Newbie right now… A sing-song in progress on the back porch… I think I have a happy bunch out there.

I gotta tell ya that the Newbers was in over nite .  His head was on the floor next to my feet… sound asleep.  After a bit, he starts to snore…lolol  I mean really snoring!  The vibrations from the snores started shaking the puter table… lolol I cracked up… I now have my very own dancing puter set up!

Yes, finally, some of my meds came in.  Magic word being ‘some’.   I opened the package to find the two most needed scripts had not arrived.  Off I go to the phone to start the merry-go-round of finding out what and where and why.  Talked to 5 different  people at the Rx company…The problem?  According to the people I talked to, Doctor didn’t put type/form of Rx…tablet, capsule or gel cap.

Ok…I can see a problem with the one brand new Rx but the other one?  I’ve been taking it for years. Nothing has changed about this second one during the last 10 years.  The company has the records… I have the old bottles with the info…I do understand the legalities but darn it… Oh shoot!  I guess I am wandering into ‘logic’ territory. Forgive me, it just seems if something works and makes sense; use it… The Gov. and Big Business seem to ignore it!

1645 hours
Got thru to Kim’s office… Trying again… Still no info rec’d by the Rx company.  Will start again tomorrow.
HEADS UP.
No good news and worse yet, I must spend more time resting.  I need more volunteers to take over all my military groups.  I am so sorry; I am just not able to keep up right now. Please, please take care of one another.

I WILL CHECK THE MAIL DAILY AND WHEN I AM ABLE, I WILL POST THE NEWS ON MY PROFILE BLOG.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COPY/PASTE THE NEWS WHERE EVER YOU WISH ON EONS OR MY BOOMER PLACE.  PLEASE TAKE CARE OF AND HELP ONE ANOTHER

WELCOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME

2009-12-2    1343 HRS

Well, gee whiz!  Get your buns in here… Dry off and warm up over there by the heater… A cold wet miserable day for anyone who must be outside.

I lost at least 10 years off my life today.  The trollop Lily disappeared… I let her out at or about 0830 this morning.  Later on, I started calling her and whistling.. No Lily.  She was  gone for 5 hours in the pouring rain!  The meems starts to fret!

I looked but didn’t ‘search’ the back porch… I even checked the front porch.  No Lily.

I am sitting here starting to mourn the lil dog who has been with me ever since I came to the mountains.  How am I ever going to write anything half way decent and upbeat today?

At 1330, I hear this lil yelp… I head towards the kitchen… There on the other side of the storm door was the Lily.  Indignity written all over her.  How dare I keep her waiting to be let in?

She was bone dry!  Feet not even wet… Hmmm  How in the world did she manage that?  An airlift?  Well, I open door… reach down and pick her up.   No kidding there was not a damp spot on her!  I chew her ears off royally!  Scared me… where you been?  Why didn’t you answer when I called and whistled for you?

Does she give me a kiss on the nose?  Do I get a ‘Hey mom’…’ thanks for letting me in?’ Not a ‘I hope you weren’t worried about me.’ ‘ Did I miss anything?’  Oh no!  With her usual aplomb, she ignores me…  I bring her back here to the apartment and put her on the bed.  She promptly goes to sleep while I try to recover from a nervous fit of a breakdown.

Trust me, kids or critters, parents never get over this phase of life… NEVER…

Later all of mine… Remember loving and fretting sort of go hand in hand…Always has; always will.

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter to all… meems

WECOME HOME, DEAR HEARTS, WELCOME HOME
2009-12-1 1446 HRS

Is
this week over yet?  OMG!  Yesterday…. Get in here and get warm!  Wind is blowing.  Don’t know what the wind chill is but, trust me, it is chilly out there.  Was 22 degrees when I woke up this morning.

All the dogs were in overnite.  All of them; even the Viva.  I don’t know what this is about… Viva hasn’t stayed inside over nite for several months now.

It’s back to broken season field running again.  Viva asleep in the hallway at the kitchen door.  The Newbie in the hall at the bedroom door.  The rest of the critters were busy undercover diving!  Checking for rogues and thieves and spies and counter intelligence, I guess.

Weird feeling to hear slight sounds behind you.  Look and nothing!  Hear sounds, look again!  Still nuffin’! Then the spots on the leopard print comforter start to move.  OK, it must be Ophie under there…  I watch the spots bounce their way east to the pillows.  This is interesting….   I watch the spots moving slowly… the nose underneath tossing the cover and inching forward.  Finally, out pops the Spudley.  Lololol

Him rolls off the bed and comes directly to me… Looks at me so pitiful.  Come on Mom, Bed time Mom… I was forced to agree… I crawl in… Spud waits til I get settled… then jumps in, curls up next to me and that was it until 0830 this morning.  I had to laff… I woke the Newbie and the Viva both when I got up!  They were still zonked out and sound asleep.  Lololol I was heading for the coffee!

Well, Kids, I’ve done it again!  Ruined my reputation for sure.  Told Anna about it this morning and she cracked up.  Did you ever hear anybody laff hysterically when they have laryngitis?  Poor Anna… she tells me she’s gonna damage me and El both when she gets her voice back.  Lololol  El is giving her a hard time.  I call to check in on her… she whispers when she answers the phone and I crack up.  Would I give the lady a hard time?  The lady who bakes the best punkin pies in the world?  Who fixed and delivered all the goodies on Thanksgiving Day?  Would I do that?  Oh yeah and twice on Sundays… lolol

http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/622705-Anna-2-9-1-3

Back
to the ruination of my reputation…I called Luli yesterday… She works at the courthouse.  She is one funny lady… and shame on me, I torment the daylites out of her too.  Anyway… talking to her… the dogs start barking… I look out the side window… three men wander around the lower section of uncut field.  NOW What!?!  Remember I told you guys I had work to do and bills to pay? The work didn’t get done.

Told Luli I’d get back to her… grabbed the .38 again.  Out the back door I went… .38 waving madly in the breeze (well, waving madly is a slight stretch)  Asked if I could help them….

Seems like they were from the electric  company…putting up pole for the added nite safety light… Did they call first?  Did they ring the door bell?  Nope, they parked their trucks out front.  I didn’t even look to see who might have been out front.  I was zeroed in on the 3 men out back!  Lesson learned… I left my blind side unguarded…

Anyway, I holstered the .38 and walked down to talk to them… No, greeting with the gun wasn’t my ruination, I started kidding with them… I was a bad girl…

First of all, I was impressed with the way the guy handling the bucket handled that machine.  I asked a lot of questions.  Guy showed me the diamond teeth in the auger. I asked if I could take photos… They said yes.  Off I go to get the cam.

I took lots of pix… just haven’t been able to get them uploaded yet.  Then I started to torment them in my usual charming manner..  The bucket guy understood right away.  The other two may have thought I was serious.  Lolol

Pole was set… two guys left to let another (new/different) guy come over to finish the job.  One guy stayed… Was supposed to be splicing the line/cable.  Started to rain and sleet… Asked the guy left behind if he wanted some coffee… no… go sit on the porch while you wait for guy number 4 to show up.  No, I’ll go sit in the truck! He says.  And he did… he locked himself in!  lolol  Now, what do you suppose that was about?!?  Lolol

I wouldn’t have left any bruises on him… honest!  Bad, bad Paula… Really, it was too funny.

Well, the electric was shut down for a while… Puters didn’t like it… I didn’t get the puters straightened out right away.  Got another message from Jasmin in Maui… Her emails are not coming thru… her is getting rejected… I gave her another address and she got thru with no trouble… How does anybody keep track of all their addys and px’s and and and… My memory ain’t that sharp anymore.  Lolol

Guess I’d best be getting off here for now… I still have a living room full of carboard boxes… need to get them cut up and out side until next trash day.  I did get the bills paid and out to the mail box but that was all I managed to do.

Later all of mine.  Take care…go in safety always.  Remember to look for the funny in each day and hang on to it.

Many hugs… much love and loads of lafter to you and yours.   meems

Welcome home dear hearts, welcome home!

Remember me? The little old lady who was afraid she might get bored? … living out here in the middle of nowhere? Total boredom?

Get your buns in here, get warm and grab some coffee and biscuits and and and… lololol Listen up, kids. Lolol Here is a list of my borings from yesterday:

One…phone call from the Rx company. They had received my faxed scripts on Friday. will be processed by Dec 2nd and sent out after that….???? OK … If I am not mistaken, this is going on week three. Sheesh!

Two….Grasscutter came out to help me do some inside work and to check oil, antifreeze… all that good stuff... I went looking for the variable speed drill.. then the phillip’s head screwdrivers… Eye bolts x 2. Some Hunters Guide catalogs… bolt cutters to shorten chains used to hang swinging chairs in the living room.

Three …Hour plus visit from Company Fire Investigator… Waaaahoooo! Cute, personable and funny young man… gotcha again, ladies! One of mine! Oh yeah. We sat out front in the nice warm sun. (it was in the 20’s when I rolled out)

Then number four, my flyguys started going over… I did my usual routine, hugs, kisses, waves.. and cracking up when I was flashed… I explained what I do everyday, the letters and the listening. …That the guys know my GPS…go over house and sometimes rattle my coffee mug. I’m not too sure the CFI believed me at first… One after another of those BBSBs went over and flashed. Slowly but surely, the CFI’s face changed. It finally seemed to sink in that I was not pulling his leg. Them BBSB’s were sailing over.

I also told him about the second window/moon thingy… and that I needed to get new glasses. Poor guy, he fell out of the chair. Ya know, I think he finally realized I was telling the truth…believed me totally… either that or I was totally nutz and maybe he’s best humor me! Lolol Always a good idea, in my case.

Well, we talked about a lot of things…the critters got bored and wandered off… chased the cat for a while (the dogs not me) He asked where the property was… he had passed two or three burned trailers coming in the back way. (Back way is a whole different story). I gave him the short version of the feud taking place in the area right now.

I relayed what I knew to be fact, specified what was known to be rumor. Off he went.

Before I am back in the house, Mr A’s daddy goes by in a spiffy looking shiny pickup…

Grasscutter is looking for an extension cord. In the desk room. I am looking for bolts. GC says ‘there go the cops’. Well, now what? I am still looking for the bolts... Grass-cutter is on the ladder in the living room… poking holes in the ceiling.

GC and I are working in the living room. The dogs start setting up a real racket… nothing out front… I grab the .22 …open side door and see a strange dog two fields above the house. I hear a man bellowing. Then here comes the deputy. I flag him down about the man bellowing. (I had no idea why the deputy was up here… I didn’t ask) Deputy advised a hunter was trying to round up his dogs. Ruh Row! Hunter sounded like he was on Mr A’s property. How bout the bellowing male voice I was hearing was similar to the male voice I heard in the creek a few days ago?

Trust me, you don’t go on someone else’s property here in the mountains. I have per-mission to go on most all of the properties east of me but I always call, ask if it’s ok and then advise the owners where I will be. Common courtesy goes a long way down here. ‘Lack of’ will get you hurt.

This morning, I saw a teaser headline in the Lex-Herald-Leader…”Authorities push pot growers out of Boone Forest” This statement certainly conjures up a picture in my mind. Maybe I’d best not go there… lololol

More coffee! And maybe a nap? Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember, if boredom threatens, you can always move to the mountains and end up being my neighbor…Now, that would be fun!

Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter.
