Morning all of mine... Welcome home, dear hearts, and welcome aboard the Ark!

Ark, you say? Oh yeah! I have the makin's of several new hollers at each end of the house... Streams of rain water rolling down the mountain sides right now....I expect to see battleships sailing up stream any minute now! Anna is supposed to call me if she sees any headin' my way. Wowser!

Flyguys over head AND Ships full of good looking uniforms of all kinds? My cup runneth over! Oh yeah! Meems is being a bad girl! lololol

Yesterday was really neat! I gots a present from my flyguys... Sun was out... I looked out and saw my BBSBs playing upstairs...

I grabbed coffee, cigs and went flying myself! Out the door to the pickup... Dropped tail gate and parked my buns! Spud and Pyggs joined me. Newbie was at my feet... the rest of the 6 pack + 1 stayed near-by.

I waved and laffed and threw hugs and kisses and and and! lolol Would you believe I got flashed!?! Several times! Oh yeah! and I cracked up at every one! It ain't every day that this 72 year old mountain woman gets flashed...Gots the giggles now!

Then, I think I received my very own fly-over... I know this sounds silly but I cried! Thank you dear hearts... Intended or not, I chose to take it as my Christmas gift from mine!

Well, kids, I've had prowlers the last couple of nites! Called Richmond and let them know... Only reason I contact Richmond is to document, document, document. Plus Joe chewed me out for not calling! Gots to play by the rules, doncha know... So now the State police don't have enuf to do, they do extra patrol out here. All of us are doing a CYA job. I do appreciate the coverage but I feel guilty for taking them away from more important things...

Just got a call from Glen... He's on his way from Cinti! Oh course, I had to be smotherly which he just hates! Told him to slow down when he reached the mountain roads... Mom! Yes, Glen... I understand rain and mountain roads, Mom! Yes Glen! Sorry! Oh dear... what can I say... I can get smotherly with every one of mine! lolol Just put up with me .... or not!

May or may not be doing the News tomorrow... Just depends on what is going on here...

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON
FROM MEEMS, THE 6 PACK + 1, FIDO AND THE CHICKIES!

Well, I'm up, barely awake but the critters wanted to see what they got from Santa!

Reminds me of when the kids were young... You waited till they went to sleep .... usually around 0300 hrs on Christmas morning...You helped Santa put the toys around the tree... Helped him fill the stockings.. Santa would head out for the next house... and I would head for the bed!

If I was lucky, I would get a two hour nap... the kids would be up... (If they had really slept at all) Merry Christmas mine! lolol I was killed but I would fix the turkey dinner for later in the day! What a wondrous time that was. I am smiling as I see it all in my memories.

The dogs would be buried in wrapping paper and ribbons! And the cats, oh my goodness, the cats! LOLOL I can remember the cats playing and getting tangled in the ribbons... Scattering paper all over the room... Playing gotcha with any foot that came near. Dangerous time, Christmas morning...lololol

I wish I'd a thot to ask Santa for a server that worked all the time... lolol Yesterday, the spell check didn't work... I didn't notice the errors/typos until I went to email the News to my non-eons friends...

LOLOL Poor Garco! Seems like I spelled his name three different ways... and I wasn't even trying! Well, I warned him! lol... not about my typos tho! Who'd a thot my spell check wouldn't work! My fingers always do what they choose no matter what I have in mind and KK always gets me! (keeps me on my toes, so to speak!) lololol inside joke intended there! Gotcha Brat!

Welcome home, Dear Hearts, welcome home! Come on in, get dried off and warmed up... Been a awhile since we've had a get together here at the house...

Notice I've moved the Tree in here in the kitchen... See the giant sized stocking over there by the heater? There's a grab bag gift in it for everyone! Go, look, and help self!

Merry Christmas, all of mine... Laff and enjoy the company.

Remember, no food fights and don't be feeding the critters the goodies! They are not starving no matter how sad they might look!

Now, I gotta tell you about yesterday... Lordy pete, Santa, I have TRIED to be good! lolol (Must have failed miserably somewhere along the way.)

Anyway, the TV is now working... A minor problem that I didn't think to check! I was trying to turn control box on at the box itself and nothing happened! Tech hits the remote on/off switch and TV comes on... I wasn't gonna tell this on myself but it is tooooo stupid/funny not too. Is there a reset button on these boxes? Just asking! lolol

Then there was the problem getting on and staying on the net!

A level two tech and I discussed the difficulties and the timings of difficulties I've been having with the server...On occasion, I am unable to get on the net at all...

Conclusion: Not enuf band width for my small area! Info will go up the line...Nice man!

Note: still having some problems with emails... I'm getting all kinds of warnings.

This is so funny! I ended up talking to one of mine ... poor guy! lolol We, Gasco and I, somehow got on the subject of the phonetic alphabet codes. There are differences between the codes ... military and police!

We swapped some war stories about codes and radio traffic. lolol Garco was in the 101st Airborne! Oh dear! We got tickled! lolol

I told him a couple of funny things I did when I was dispatching... He came back with a story about a trip to MickyD's...

He had only been out for a month or so! Went thru drive-thru.. placed order... finished order, then said OVER! Said he wanted to dig a hole and climb in! lolol .. I've encouraged Garco to join us in VNV and WHVV. I sure hope he does! I can't wait to do some gotcha's on him... He's been warned tho... I always give fair warning!

Then, there's the Toe! Him comment on the News yesterday! About older women.. and do I like younger men? Toe, the answer is OH YEAH!... In fact, I asked Gargo 'the queston'... fluffed and primped for him... He cracked up! Can you imagine? lolol Garco has been reading the News for a while now... He knows what an outrageous flirt I am! lololol

My fly guys have been flashing again... Wowser! Be still my heart... I hope to find some of them BBSB's in my stockings tomorrow...Notice I said stockingS - plural? Don't want to run out of room for any goodies or good lookin's that my come my way!

This one is for the ladies! You men, shoo for a few minutes! ... Now scoot! Git!

OK, Gals... are we alone? Check out the new HUNK on the weather channel! Wowser! Him is cute and him name is Jorma Moran! Good looking!!!!!! Right now, him is assigned to the Chicago area! (I might be old, but I ain't dead!)

Crackin' up already! lolol The Boss done gotcha'd me first thing again... Just sent him a short weather report... meems being nice (?) and trying to keep him updated... WHAM! Nails me to the trophy wall! That's ok Boss! Just you wait... please don't hold breath... may take me a while to think of sumfin!

The Marv and the Toe have ganged up on this sweetheart of a lil ol lady... (First part is true; second part sort of iffy!) lololol Boys, play nice now or Santa will put sticks and stones in your stockings!

KK has already warned these two brats to head for the FOS! Especially the Marv! Him in big time trouble!

Now let me tell you sumfin about the KK! Her is an instigator! Big time... so don't let her innocent act fool ya! Her be sneaky with her gotcha's! Oh, trust me, I know...lolol

Today is the day for the Dish tech to come out to repair/whatever the control box for the TV. He's already called wanting directions...

Oh lordy pete... I fell on the floor... How do you go about giving directions to someone who knows nothing about the area...

First question! I ask: "Where are you?" lolol He's in Greater down town Booneville! On old route 11.... Which is now a different number... Get the route numbers straightened out...

Tell him to follow Rte. 30E all the 4 way stop then hang a left...

By the time he hung up I was hysterical! Wonder if he will manage to get here anytime today?... He said he'd be here late in the afternoon... lololol

I can't help it, I am laffing while talking to him... Poor man thinks I am nutz and he is right!

Spent an hour last nite, playing with the service tech because puter was misbehaving... Him name is Nick... Him is 24 and has a beautiful speaking voice... I fell madly in love right away...

I was nice tho... I didn't fluff and primp... and I did NOT ask if he was interested in older women! However, after giving it some thot.... hummmmmm!

Oopsie, meems is being bad... must be the season...

Meems best get going! Gots ta shovel the dust/bunnies off the TV control box before the service man arrives! IF.... !

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS 12/22/2008

Well, Ratz! I just sat down with a fresh cup of coffee and spilled it all over me and the table and the floor and my note pad and and and... Sheesh, I am such a klutz!

Was 4 degrees this morning when I let the dogs out...You wanna check the pond? Frozen solid... can walk on water and not get ankles wet.

Kitchen was 61 degrees! The winds have died down, thank goodness! My heat pump blue light has been working overtime... and, no, that doesn't mean any thing is on 'special'! lololol

It seems like I don't have a viable back up heat system with the propane any longer...It's not safe!

I told y'all bout tank not being turned on when the power went out during the snow storm... That I went out and turned the valve on...that Grasscutter went down and played with the pilot lites on the cook stove... Pilots were burning on Monday.

Saturday, I checked the stove ... Pilot lites were out again... Thot maybe there was a problem with the stove.. It is very old...

Yesterday, it sank in... Would the valve be off at the tank again?

Yup, it sure was! Hmmmm! Hr. A. been playing out there? I called and made a police report... Called the gas company this morning... cannot put lock on tank! Propane is useless unless I want to sit up all nite and make sure everything is working...Sometimes ya just can't win! lolol

What I am going to do is hang wind chimes from the latch on the tank.... enuf of them so the noise will alert me and the dogs.

I already have one hole in the screen; one more won't make much difference!

Well, some good things happened this weekend! Glen called and will be down this Friday...weather permitting!

Jessie stopped out and brought me a gift from her saintly hubby! That poor man...how he can stand the two of us, I don't know! lolol Anyway, I have a new pair of tiger eye/hematite earrings... (Sent the box back for refills)... I cracked Jessie up! lololol Do ya suppose he is trying to bribe me into behaving? Won't work! lolol I am incorrigible! (and very corruptible)

Oh, I gotta tell y'all, Jess makes the best tater salad ever... I ate it up all gone already! Yummy yummy! I've put in a demand for more! ASAP

Then, there's my flyguys!

My soon to be neighbor brought his beautiful german shepherd out with him the other day! (The day it was 70o here) Her name is Heidi! Naturally all my dogs went flying up there... So, just to be on the safe side, I drove up to his place to keep an eye on my critters... Critters were getting along fine! lolol

I got at least 3 inches taller from the clay mud I managed to pick up when I got out of the truck... (I ended up coming in the house barefoot... trust me this is not fun!)

Well, as neighbor and I were talking and watching the critters act up, one of my flyguys went by... some distance away but I waved anyway.

I then proceded to explain to neighbor about flyguys and waving and throwing hugs and kisses...I know he thought I was nutz! lolol I also told him that sometimes I got 'flashed'.

In a very short time, a dozen or more big beautiful silver birds went over! Leaving contrail patterns all over the sky...

Neighbor commented about the number of planes...the next thing you know, he says... 'that plane just tipped its wings!'... Yes, I know!

I drove home right after the wing tip and parked in the drive... dropped my tail gate... sat there and watched more fly overs.... I loved it... I laffed, giggled, and threw hugs and kissed to my hearts content... WTG, guys!

Welcome home dear hearts, welcome home! Thank you all of mine for being there for all of us!

Looks like I need more R&R time... I guess I will be taking a 3 day break on the week-ends...This week, it will be Fri, Sat and Sun...Next week and from then on, I will take Sat, Sun and Mon's off...

Sorry about this... I just haven't bounced back the way I expected to....

This is not to say that I WON'T be on Eons those three days. It just means I have given myself permission to take some time off whether I need it or not...lolol

I always check the mail and will reply... might even post the News on my days off. If any of mine need me... contact me right away... I am always here for mine.

Now, that's out of the way...

Has anybody else had problems with their puters the last couple of days? I'm here to tell you yesterday was really rough... Nasty rough on the ol puter! Didn't do me a whole heck of a lot of good either...lolol

Really slow responses...I rebooted, redid everything, reset a gazillion times... Goog's took over my tabs... No lie, I had 10 or more Google's up there at one time.... couldn't get rid of them...still can't... IE was doing weird things... even by my standards, they were bizarre!

Couldn't get Art Explosion to work nor Correl's Pro Shop Photo (locked up, talking to self)! Some emails/pm's would open, some wouldn't! Sheesh! I almost lost it! But I did hang on, persevered and have gotten most of it straightened out... lolol or not!

Well, I went to bed very late and woke way before breakfast... Can you say sleepy? Gonna go cover diving in a few...Move over critters!

Oh, in case you missed it... IE has a fix/patch for their security 'hole'. I downloaded the 'fix' this morning...We'll see what happens!

Man, oh man! What have I done to cause such abuse? (must have been from a past life or sumfin!)

The Boss done gotcha'd me this morning first thing...before coffee even! The KK was pickin' on me yesterday because I made a typo that I didn't catch!
Sheesh!

Wowser, I just noticed we have SPELL CHECK on the blogs now! Thank you EONS! This is wonderful... Well, then again, it may not last too long... Every small paragraph so far has at least one red-line in it! ... lolol Can you say: nervous breakdown for spellcheck? lololol

Oh gee, the Marv has been shopping! Those poor clerks.... I just know that when they see him coming the next time, there's gonna be a mine field of bungi traps just a waiting for him! Really, the Marv is an absolute grump! Him easy to pick on too!

Need to make a few calls today... Looking for a slightly used ark! I have critters out back waiting to climb aboard! Even this high up, there are puddles of standing water in the yard. This past summer, it was used camels! Now, arks! Sheesh! I have no idea why people at the other end of the phone start laffing when they hear my voice? Do you suppose it's something I've said at some time in the past? lolol Nah, couldn't be....

Went out to the mail box yesterday and found a package rubber banded to the side of box! LOLOL package was soaked and so was I....gee whiz, it is more than a little damp out there... I digress (love that word... thank you KK)... MeSneak said she was sending me some cookies...thumb prints with apricot jelly on them! MY FAVE'S! Oh yeah!

Waded thru puddles and sopping dogs ... into house... back to the apartment to open package! Big bag of cookies! Yummy cookies! I also found a report card....

Grandson Shawn, second grade, is doing very well in school! Exceptional in spelling and math! (didn't get that from me!)... Not quite as well in punctuation (This he did get from me! lolol) WTG, Shawn!

What else... A pendant made of beautifully polished desert jasper.. mounted in silver(Wearing it right now along with my flag)...and a book on Peru... some other stuff too... Merry Christmas meems! lolol

Oh, back to the shopping trip on Monday for a min....

While I was in Barb's (grocery store in town) I spotted packages of black cherries.... Oh my goodness! Meems does love black cherries! (even planted some small trees this spring and they are growing).. anyway, back to the packages of cherries... Packages held 8 oz +/- of cherries each. Price $4 ++ a half pound... Bot two packages... almost $10 if my math is any where near correct! $10 +/- a pound!?!? Well, I bot them anyway!

Got home did all the 'puttin away'... Grabbed a package and came back here to the apartment.... black cherries! I have died and gone to heaven! Cherries were grown in Peru of all places!

Next day, I receive package from MeSneak which contains a book about Peru! Does this coincidence strike any one as strange? Just asking! Well, now I am gonna gain a gazillion pounds from pigging out on cookies and cherries! YES!

Good grief, kids... The Spudley and the wrecking crew have been playing doggy gotcha up and down the hall way! Had a little trouble trying to broken field run back to the apartment with a hot cup of coffee! Stood in bath room doorway for a couple for safety sake! lolol

Newbie follows me in and stands behind me for a few seconds...Decides this is boring and casually strolls out the door without looking first! Big mistake! Newbie gets blind sided by Spud and the wrecking crew.... I have a code TA right in front of me... TA = Traffic accident! Awfullest mess I've seen in a while!

Legs waving in the air...Tail assemblies tangle with ear lobes.... I hear oooofs! sneezes... play growls...feet scrambling...laff coughs...Well... I got tickled... I managed with no effort at all to spill some of the coffee on the floor...Dogs finally sorted themselves out and headed back to the apartment.

Now, the funniest thing of all! I'm sure that somewhere it says 'thou shalt be smarter than thy critters'... Obviously, neither dogs nor I have read that part of the contract!

Last nite, I am sitting here minding my own business, sort of... I hear little dog out in kitchen barking Outside MOM... OUTSIDE.... I trundle down the hall to the kitchen! It's Ophie, the very quiet, very small and extremely shy!

I go to door after asking 'outside?'... Ophie does a small tap dance... OK... I open door... wait to see if anybody wants to come in...

Ophie in the meantime, has trotted tail feathers out on the porch. Turns around... makes eye contact with the meems... and trots her little tail assembly back inside! Hmmm! Then proceeds to plop her assembly on the floor in front of me! (sitting in front of the emom stands for Please) Ponder ... Ponder.... then I crack up! She wants a goody! lololol

Outside late, back inside equals goodies!

I've been outsmarted again! Should I go back to school? Should I ponder on this any longer? Should I just give up? Should I just go with the flow? Answers: No, no, yes and yes! lololol

It's amazing... the things that happen when you take a few days off!

Been propositioned...by Santa, no less! Crackin up here!

Marv... surprise, surprise! Has even been a little bit nice! I faint from shock here!

KK, on the other side, is starting to get just a hair grumpy! Told me to get my "butt back on here!" No surprise here!

Gotta tell you about the new avatar! LOLOLOL Puter dummy here, right!

Oh yeah! Moved old webcam to new puter yesterday...Gee, did the download all by myself... Took foto of the giant economy sized Santa' elf...

Hmmmm...added little snow scene to bottom of pic... looking good but pic is a little fuzzy... I work and work... No matter what I do, can't get pic to unfuzz...too far one direction with slide bar, I start seeing pixels... bring back slide bar... I am still fuzzy!

I give up and post the GESS elf... lolol Play a bit more.. and quit... Well ratz! LOLOL

All that work and what finally sank in? Pic was wall paper for 'snow scene'! How's that for an ego buster?!? Duh, Paula!

Crass cutter came out yesterday and hauled me to town! Bad weather supposed to be coming in today. LOLOL Not funny but it is...

The old sayings are way too true! "Bad weather coming? Get to store for bread, butter and 2 gals of milk".

Guess what I needed... lolol Bread and butter... I was out of both! Off to town I went!

Dropped off paintings at Action Team... Next door to Dollar store... OH Dear!

Well, me being me, I got into all kinds of trouble! lolol Oh, I got a new toaster finally. Couldn't resist the Santa hat! Plopped it on and shopped some more! I laffed and giggled all the while I was shopping. People smiled and laffed ... I talked to all kinds of complete strangers!

Then I went to the grocery store in town... caused a small disturbance there too...What! Me, cause a disturbance? Nah! Never happen! I am telling a big whopper here... Suppose Santa will put coal in my Christmas stocking instead of a good looking man? Hmmm!

I did get a package of stuff that's called 'body butter'... Cherry, grape, orange flavored...I ain't gonna go any farther with this one! Meems is being bad! (don't say it, Dave! Don't even think it!) (I am safe from Jeff for the moment... his pc is sick... get it well soon brat!)

Smokeyspop is being very nice tho... think his lady is peeking over his shoulder and threatening to do a number if he ain't nice...LoL Somebody should have warned her!

Stopped at two, (yes, we now have two) drugstores. Gave Edna a hard time... lololol giggled and laffed and tormented her!

Grasscutter had to stop at courthouse... Well, I had to go in to visit everybody there! Can you believe the Prisoner Transport officer, Hubbie, followed me all over the first floor! Well, eventually, Grasscutter hauled me out the side door and back to the truck! lolol

Oh, we stopped at the Post Office... Got to play with both of Doug's ear lobes.. lolol

Let me see here! How many places did I get thrown out of? hmmmm! Ah... well ... Oh, I forgot the stop at the feed store!

Sheesh! Even being my most charming self, I was politely (?) escorted out (read tossed out on my kiester!) of a total of 8 places!

Well, the bread and butter trip took something like four hours, not counting travel time. I had a blast...

Wheeeeee! I love this time of the year! Predicting freezing rain today... there goes the power again...or not!

Where do I start?

First of all, the Boss gotcha'd me...BIG TIME! Rotten kid, mumble grumble.... And I was being nice and, heaven forfende, helpful for a change! I also have a gold brick to sell... In fact, I have several bricks and a large bridge on the 'for sale' list!

Any way, I give my slightly addled input on several groups...

Yesterday, I 'did' a weather tip for winter. I stated: "Lay in a supply of kitty litter...the grittier the better" or sumfin like that.

Boss wanted to know if he should take that literally. Hmmm....Well, I pondered on the question. Hmmmm some more!

Aha, the bulb goes off! "LAY IN" is what got me... Duh, Paula! I can hear that rascal laffing now as he typed his gotcha...lololol I WILL get even, Boss, just you wait! Oh yeah! Best be watching over you shoulder!

Now, y'all know I make words up as I go... When I type a message to a friend, I use the same words and phrasing as I normally do. I am a constant thorn in the side of spellcheck! Can you say: nervous breakdown, gridlock?

And would you believe, I make KK nervous? Says when she starts reading the News, she gets a little shaky. (read a lot shaky here) I asked why... got the giggles started!

Reply: "I never know how your stories are going to end?" (Notice I even spelled gonna correctly? KK is almost always grammatically correct... notice I said almost? Ask her about typo's) Gotcha brat!

The OlBear is misbehaving! Sent me an old car with a snow plow attached (?).. Always helpful the Bear is! Oh yeah! NOT! Car doesn't run! No radiator... Tires are bald and the front seat is missing!

Told him to get his buns up here on the mountain side and get to work outside with a shovel... I was saving the 'plow' for the inside of the house! Will bring it in a piece at a time.

Would you believe he is too busy to help this poor lil saintly lil ol woman? Sob, boo hoo! Am I getting too overly dramatic here? ( shut up, Dave! Bite your tongue!) gotcha'd two for the price of one! WTG, Paula!

LJ has been nailing me to the Gotcha Wall on a regular basis. Poor Carol, his beautiful red headed wife... What she must put up with! hugs you two! lolol gotcha tho!

Marv, of course, has been his usual grumpy self! Nag, nag, nag! lolol Said I wasn't gonna get a lobster this year for my Christmas stocking! Said I hadn't been good enuf!

Well, Mr. Smarty Pants... Not only have I bin good, meems has been almost purfect! So there! Now I am crackin up! What a whopper! lolol
