 For all of mine ... 2008/15/11 1003EST
Don't know if anybody else has had a problem with their blog page or not. I had a short phrase that only showed up when I posted the New (blog) to the groups. It stayed hidden but I think I've finally gotten rid of it or not!Won't know until I post this one!
Well, that parts out of the way...
The next biggie for me is KK is back as mod in VNV. She 'graciously' (read I had to drag her bodily, kicking and screaming, to the keyboard) accepted... She is a gem and very patient with this ol lady (read... I got stuff on her...blackmail) On the other side of that, she knows a lot about the emom (with really becoming pix- like a whole bunch of those 'before coffee' pix) that keeps my mouth shut!
I guess you could call that even steven!
The Boss man has been busy working on new stuff in the E ROCK group. Music all over the place! He also made it to the Home Page list again...Way to go Boss! Oh and yesterday I heard one of my fave songs... A Horse With No Name! Listen in...
Speaking of listening! Even tho fall and winter are my fave times of the year, the heat pump interferes with me hearing my guys up there playing....Well ratz! And the last few days have been very cloudy... Can hear up there when I'm outside... I just can't see them... I wave and throw hugs and kisses anyway... If they are looking, they can see me... Hope they get a kick out of seeing this lil old lady saluting, hugging and waving. The neighbors passing by have already caught me doing this. Nobody's said anything yet... but!!!!!! We do know it's coming eventually...
Well, let's see.... I could tell everybody I am pagan and just offering thanks to the gods of the air! Meems is gonna end up burned at the stake yet... lololol
KK says I am 'certifiable'... lolol gotcha brat! Inside joke everybody! Worth my life to tell you about that one! Gots the giggles now! lololol She will get even...Oh yeah!
The Marv is finally in a better mood although it's sort of hard to tell... It is so rare a happening that when he DOES say sumfin nice, I faint dead away! The Brat does love me or he wouldn't put up with me either! Hugs Marv or gotcha! I ain't sure which... lololol Or maybe both at the same time!
Went out yesterday... forgot my gloves but did some planting anyway...
Got the lilacs planted... and watered. Then we had .85" of rain overnite... The wind is blowing and the rain is traveling sideways right now... The storm gods must be back from vacation... lolol no thunder yet... but I sure would hate to work outside in this kind of weather. Can you say: freeze your tail assembly? lolo
The 6 pack + 1 are all in the house and under my feet! Playing doggie gotcha tag! Hang on emom! You're in for a rough ride again...lolol Them puppies does not understand that it's almost impossible for the emom to type when somebody it booting me in the rump!
And the PLUS 1 pup is a MONSTER! What can I say! He has re-arranged the kitchen... To his liking, not mine! He has emptied the burnable bin on the the back porch and chewed up all the empty pop cartons! Stolen a clean paint shirt out of my framing room... As I was picking the shirt up, he grabbed the sleeve and I had a minor tug of war on my hands... I hear thumps and bumps out in the kitchen right now.... I'm afraid to go look...The Newbs and Max are out there playing...
Spoke too soon... they are back here in the Apartment now! Sheesh! BIG HINT here! Wanna get the meems an much appreciated Christmas gift? Send Vanilla! Help!

OK! Double checking to make sure I have everything here to do the job....
rope ladder ... coffee... chains... pillows...cigs,ash tray lighter...pop...packed lunch and supper...Paper towels... (sometimes I get a little sloppy with the coffee... as big as it is, I sometimes miss it!)...heavy duty sky hooks... hammer drill...long line for puter... a lightning rod... Hmmmm? What else?
Oh yeah, need the ladder temporarily... pondering here...Wonder if I should? Well, I best have the phone handy...
Can't think of anything else for the moment...I'm sure something else will come to mind before I am finished!
I am installing a PERMANENT doggie shelter... Not for the dogs ... for me!
Oh dear, I almost for got the most important item...An old fashioned wooden play pen!
Well, after this mornings activities by the 6 pack + 1, I will be a lot safer! and a lot less bruised!
Now, this morning was a typical opened door day... (by the way, it is magnificent out there today... mostly sunny and 72 degrees! OMG!72 degrees! As soon as I get this posted, I am headin' out the door to play in the dirt!)
Sorry, I digress again... All KK's fault... she taught me that word!
Any how, back to the playpen! Those of you who know me, already know where this is going! Oh yeah!...
Any way, I will hang playpen from Apartment ceiling, climb in, pull up rope ladder (the most dangerous item for me) and settle down to play on puter or read a good book or.......... lolol
A respite from a huge dog and a small comepact dog using my rump as a tether ball... 4 dogs at a minimum trying to climb on my lap... or 4 dogs playing ghostie gotcha while I am taking a nap... Little dogs tap dancing on my belly button... Y'all have no idea how much mother martyr suffers here! Now I've got the giggles... lolol
Got a little carried away with my imagination there... but, gee whiz! It is a thought! And it is a lot closer than the FOS!
Well, I gotta tell ya that Handsofhope sent me a 'butterfly net'! Now, I gotta ponder on this a bit! lolol A butterfly net.... hmmm... Anna keeps mentioning the same thing! Only Anna says the FEDS are the ones who will be carrying it! lolol They're coming to take me away... hey hey! lolol
I am having the best time right now... Such a gorgeous day! get some old work clothes on, find my work gloves, pack my little wire basket with the necessaties and off I will go! Tripping over the dogs... they love it when emom comes out to play!
Shoot... I have the word Coyotes written down... have no idea right now what that's for... lolol

Oh my gosh! Two days of rain and it is possible we might just have more today. Ground level winds are at zero but the upper level clouds are really moving out of the south!
I love to look out my windows... Clouds, no clouds, it doesn't matter... The view is fantastic and I see a different painting every day. At least, when I clean the dog snuffles off the east window, I can. lolol
Oh dear! Lily and the Maxfield are having a verbal battle right now... lolol Max is on the floor by the bed and Lily is on the bed guarding from intruders! (read Maxfield here) Max is running his mouth loudly and tormenting the Lily. The Lily is growling and snarling in a most vicious manner! This is not the same as a Singsong...
A singsong occurs when the coyotes set the dogs off! There's howling, yipping, cadence barking at the top of their lungs.... I think I'd better get some ear plugs... Two talky dogs might just do me in! lolol
Talked to Anna this morning... Lolol Asked her what she was doing and what did I hear in reply? "Counting the falling leaves!" lolol I'll have to try that sometime in the future... sounds like she's bored... too wet to work outside today....
Man oh man! the phone is ringing off the wall again... I'm gonna scoot on here... Have enuf trouble trying to concentrate without a gazillion interruptions... lolol I think I just made an understatement...

WHOOPPPEEEE!!!!
We've had RAIN! A beautiful slow rain! Cold, mind you, but oh so wet rain! Fido complained all day long! I not really sure that Fido is a duck.... She hates water falling on her!
Dogs didn't like the rain either...lolol They wandered around in the house with hind legs crossed until they couldn't stand it any longer... Out the door they'd go, grumbling all the way. Can you say 'quick trip'? I wouldn't even get turned around and they's be back! Squalling... LET ME IN! MOM, LET ME IN!!!!
A big congrats to the NATIVE AMERCIAN FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE! In one week, the group has made it to the number 1 spot of Eons top 25 groups! Way to go!

I just had a brain storm! The doggie door person here just had a brilliant idea... How bout a Auto door opener? One that can take the place of the regular back door? Wowser... where are all you inventors when I need one! I could sit back here in the apartment... click on a button and let the dogs in and out without trundling to the kitchen a gazillion times a day lololol Am I getting lazy or what! lolol

Good morning all of mine... Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Come on in, Set a spell and help yourselves to the coffee and all that stuff. Y'all know where everything is. Get comfy and get ready for an ear full! lolol Not a tirade mind you, just some things I have pondered and appreciated over the years.
First of all, I need to let you know that one year ago yesterday I tripped over a group going by the name of Viet Nam Vets....I remember that day so clearly.
In my diary that day, I wrote: "I've been reading some of the posts from the Nam Vets - that is the most overwhelmingly sad place I have ever been!"
November 10, 2008, was the day y'all became mine! My heroes, my kids, my brats.
Because of you and your sacrifices, I am free. Free to be myself... free to raise my children in safety.
Because of mine, I am free:
To fly my flag...
To be an artist...
To say what I please and when...
To tease and torment mine...
To travel when and where I choose..
To like or dislike and voice my opinions...
To imagine... to write...To fly with mine...
To sail the seas and waters of the world...
Because of mine, I have lived a long and healthy life. I have access to books and paintings! I can jump in my old pick up and drive to town... I have no shackles holding me... I do not constantly live in fear of my life! I can go outside, live with nature or stay inside when it storms... I am safe, happy and content because of mine.
But the cost to mine is and was horrendous. Oh my God! It is costly this safety we all have. The Wall tells a part.. The Arlington's tell a part.. We, who have been protected by these many sacrifices, will never know of all the suffering and pain, the losses of loved ones and dear friends in the fields.
With everything I have in me, I THANK ALL OF MINE! Walk proud, hold your heads high. You have done your country and your flag proud!

veteran: (n.) A person with long experience of a particular activity
 It is interesting to me that for most occupations the term veteran applies to a person with a long experience where as in the military it is any person who has served in the armed forces. Synonyms for the term veteran includes master, expert, one long in service, sourdough*, old hand*, one of the old guard*, old bird*, old dog*, old timer etc. Again the emphasis is on the longevity of the activity of the person being called a veteran.
We have teenage soldiers who are called veterans, no longevity there. For some reason society has decided that anytime serving the country in the military is equal to the "long experience" as stated in the above definition. I think society has got it correct. Anyone who has served for any length of time never forgets even if the duty was as a desk clerk. Our young clay-like brains were shaped and molded during our training and our experiences. The sculpture of our brain may has changed since but if you chip away the outer layers of that sculpture you will find that original piece, the molded child turned soldier. So in my mind the "longevity" factor for us veterans is that we carry that experience with us for all of our life.

I have laffed and giggled since late last nite! Looky what I got in the mail! A message from Annie...
(Now, for those of you who don't know her, Annie is a trip all by herself...sort of an updated version of 'I love Lucy')
Message...Hey Meems,
Being Annie I made one very large blooper this morning. Did not read the month on the birthdays listed in gotcha just read dates. This was the 9th so I sent onetoejeff a Bday gift and posted Happy Birthday on his profile. The poor man was very confused but gracious. LOL So I sent him an apology. Only me, only me. I thought it was funny but I always laugh at myself.

OMG! This is way tooo funny... Toe doesn't know Annie... Annie doesn't know Toe! I know both of them! I could see the expressions on each face! Consternation on Toe's and an OH NO! on Annie's...
Well, the more I thought about it the funnier it got! I laffed, whooped, hollered, cried, pounded fists, couldn't breathe and turned blue around the edges! lolol Simple mind, simple pleasures, me!
Well, I had to let the Toe know about Annie... I think I just stirred the pot! lolol Would I do sumfin like that? Oh yeah! In a New york minute! teehee!
If you remember I had problems with the coffee being spilled...two separate times... lolol Well, here's another one to add to the mess!
Don't know where my brain was this morning, but I had coffee water and coffee all over the kitchen floor again!
Put too much water in the big pot and none in the small pot! Hmmm! This does not work... Small pot unhappy! Seems like I put the small pot's water in the big pot! Big pot didn't like this either! Well ratz!
And you are gonna love this one! Unopened can of diet pop! Tried to open... pull tab came off in my hand! Another 'well ratz!' Hmmm! Waste not, want not, right? Oh, I don't think so! Well, beings I was back here in the apartment, I didn't have one of those old fashioned punch can openers at hand. However, I do have an assortment of tools in here.
I looked around ... (I keep all kinds of junk in coffee mugs in here) Hmmmm! pliars, mini hammer, various sized screw drivers... even a cordless screwdriver... AHA! I decide a screwdriver is just the thing! Oh yeah!
You know where this is going, don't ya? lolol
I grab screw driver... place pop can on a sturdy little foot stool... place screw driver on can lid. Give screw driver a tap with the heel of my hand... Can falls over but stays unopened.. Well ratz! Almost! I try again!
I give screwdriver a mighty whomp with hand! AHA again!
Well kids! The bottom of the can slid sideways...the screwdriver went through the lid and out the side of said can! I now have a fountain of diet Dr. Pepper spewing into the air and all over the floor! Can you say:OMG!..? lololol Duh, Paula!
I now have a polka dot splotched rug in here... but the colors Do blend in well! Boy, is that a lie!
Tomorrow is VETERANS DAY! Please don't forget all of ours. My heroes, the ones who kept us free!

Oh boy! The doors and windows are closed... the furnace is on! The dogs are in/out on a rotating basis... and I think I am going back to bed and develop a headache! lolol
Ol Bear sent me a bottle of aspirins today... KK put me in charge of The Lighter side while she is gone... the Marv is a very unhappy camper... he cannot get to photo bucket... Eons goofed on something again.. The Boss is trying to figure out what the heck is going on...I keep losing things...
However, I did get the latest update from my roving reporter on Maui...lolol I have nothing to do with the following! LOLOL
