EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS 12/03/2008 posted about 1 hour ago, updated about 1 hour later For all of mine ... 2008//12/03 0817EST OK, OK! I'm up and on EONS finally! I'd have been here sooner but I couldn't get to Eons! There weren't no way to get there from here! I think I am in the holiday mood! Gots my Christmas coffee mug to hand! Did I tell you I have a collection of coffee mugs? Oh yeah! I have all the seasons of the year... Quite a few for the holidays... A Maxine mug... I don't use this one. Oh no! Don't want anything to happen to this one..I have Ms Piggy mugs...and some are shaped like different pieces of fruit. lolol ... I have lemons, apples, oranges... what else?.. I have a punkin mug too! I have a santa mug...lolol the bottom half of the jolly old elf! Santa has a lid! Don't ask, cause I don't know why! The 6 pack + 1 just went off! Alarm barking and protecting me from, I discover, a passing van! lolol Let me tell you it is cold out there this morning! Oh yeah! I went out without a jacket or anything... I was dressed! Way too cold to go starkers with nothing but miles and miles of thick frost and a steady ground level breeze on the long fetch! Anyway, I looked up and my fly guys were up there a playing already! Big beautiful silver birds against the blue sky.. Contrails all over ... sort of looked like basket weaving! lolol I am biting my tongue here! Sitting on my hands too! I could digress a lot this morning! Now I'm getting tickled! Morning all of mine... Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! OK! The Marv is back... got a short note from him... just said he was home and tired... Wait til I get a hold of him! Broom and I will beat him black and blue! Emom gets a little testy when she worries! Trust me! The Bear is back from a 5 day trip! Bout daggoned time too! Oh, back to my flyguys for a minute. The BBSB's and my heat pump both 'sing' in the same range.. When the heat pump is on, I cannot hear my guys overhead! BRB! 0902est.... Back! Just had to go outside and wave at one of my guys... LOLOL There are contrails all over right now... Air aloft is very quiet...Shift change for the mountain winds. When the wind is still, the echos and the sounds don't carry as well nor as far. Anyway, I see a large star up there... some serious attempts at basket weaving and a large X is hanging over the house! LOLOL It's my fantasy and I enjoy every minute of it... I would attempt to listen to the chatter but my CB only goes to channel 40... However, if you guys wanted to drop down once in a while, I would love it! lolol Sometimes I wonder what the actual size of the fly patterns are... Miles and miles I suppose... Can't judge from here on the mountain. Lots of sky to cover! Coffee! LOLOL Broken field running down the hall to the kitchen and back is the best exercise in the world! I am lying! Big time! The way out ain't too bad; coming back and making it without spilling the coffee is a miracle! My balance ain't too good at the best of times anyway! Two of my books arrived yesterday from Amazon. I was a baaaad girl...Shouldn't have spent the money but my books are like money in the bank to me... Love my books! Rickaz mentioned the title of the one a week or so ago. Thought I'd give it a read.... ACHILLES IN VIETNAM... I also ordered the companion book...ODYSSEUS IN AMERICA. Both books are written by Jonathan Shay, M.D., Ph.D. Think they are gonna be interesting reads. Went outside again... no jacket! I am not too brite! lolol It is cold out there even tho the sun is shining! My guys are all over up there... I stood and waved and sent hugs and kisses! I feel a little sheepish sometimes but that's ok! Again, it is my fantasy. If I want to freeze my buns off in the cold, I can and will! I am outa here for a while... Take care all of mine... go in safety always... Be kind to yourself... smile at others and giggle at your own actions.... Love and many hugs to all of mine! Meems
2008/12/02 1209 EST
Hey Kids! I made it up before noon today! Wonder of wonders! Gee whiz! lolol
The 6 pack + 1 kept me up overnite... In/out... they slept all day and wanted to romp all over the back side of the house all nite! This may work for the critters but it sure don't work for me! lolol
I booted rumps, butts and rears out the back door a/a 0300 hours! Talking to myself and grumbling aloud, I head back to bed. Do some serious cover diving and zonk out... Ahhhh Yes! Bury myself under the blankets and go sound asleep! Some of my rotten friends have hinted that at my age, I need all the 'beauty' sleep I can get! I love you too Brats!
I am starting to fret here a little bit! The Marv went away for the weekend and hasn't returned as of yet. Was supposed to be home yesterday. I miss that rotten thorn in my side when he's not out there waiting for me to mess up somehow! ( by his terms) lolol He plays a mean game of gotcha... However, I think I am slightly ahead on points in the gotcha game! More practice, me! lolol
Get home safely, dear heart... the emom worries!
Let me see.... Oh we had another lovely snowfall last nite. Heavy wet snow... the good packin, 'make a snowman' type snow! Didn't last but the ground was covered for a while... ditto the side porch ramp! Not enuf for a snow angel yet but it will happen! There is still snow in the shady spots...
Last year, during a heavy lasting snow period, I would go stand on the back porch. Coffee in hand, I would read the messages left in the snow by the wild critters.
Interesting read! A small bear had come trundling through from west to east. A large cat had bounded through... 15 foot leaps across the back yard..( I went down and measured) . cat was also heading east...deer tracks and spoor... Rabbit tracks and what looked to be possum (had a tail whatever it was) Small tracks are hard to read in the snow... It depends on the temps and the freshness of the tracks.
Wowser! Just got off the phone with the Anna... That woman is a riot! lolol She was going to give me a 'starter' of Amish bread. Now, according to Anna, you will still be working on the dough on day ten! Y'all know I have no memory and a very short attention span. I would hate to waste such a 'yummy to be' by forgetting one of the necessary steps. Anyhow, Anna has decided that she will make a loaf of bread for me.... will be my Christmas present! YES! I can handle that!
Watched Celtic Woman on our local PBS station last nite. Love their music... They sang a beautiful rendition of Danny Boy... They also have a 'beautiful' drummer who travels with them... I think I'd like to find the drummer boy in my Christmas stocking.... Think I'm having a hot flash or sumfin! lolol Bad Paula! Crackin' up!
On the floor! I ordered some books from Amazon...Didn't expect them to arrive so quickly.. Door bell rings! I grab .38 and go flying out the side door! See UPS truck... not my regular driver... lolol and here I am in the old battle gray robe, waving pistol in the air... wish you could have seen the expression on the guys face! Oh dear... there goes the reputation again... This time tho, I had teeth in and hair was brushed up into a pony tail of sorts...
I can hear it now when he gets back to the center! 'This crazy old woman! Old gray dress! Waving gun! Big pack of dogs! Ain't gonna go there again!' lolololol Poor man! Now I do have the giggles!
Later all of mine! Gots to get going... I'm sure there is trouble out there for me to find... somewhere...
Take care...go in safety always... Be thankful I am not your next door neighbor (Oh yeah!) Be thankful for what you DO have!
Love and many hugs... meems

For all of mine ... 2008/12/01 1324EST
I refuse to admit I am running late! I take the fifth (vanilla) as to why! lololol
Oh dear! The Boss is on a punny bagel (roll) and has already done a gotcha on me!
The Storm gods seem to be playing with some very upset Wind gods out there... I see dark ragged clouds being pushed down the holler to the east... Yesterday, the barometer was as low as I have seen it for a while - at 29.14... It is still low today at 29.45...
I just looked out the window and wet snow is falling! Not a blizzard by any means but snow none the less! The sun is peeking thru the clouds from the west. I can hear the wind chimes out back... and the temp is above 40° out there! Somebody is confused weather-wise! Is it me? ( Dave, bite your tongue!)
Did y'all know that my east bedroom window acts like a yearly sun dial? Yup, it does! The morning sun moves to the north or it arcs to the south in rhythm with the seasons. Nature's slow motion dance. On or about the 22nd this month, the morning sun will hit the old computer screen against the north wall.
On the same day, the sun's rays will climb to the second row of bricks above the floor of the back porch...Oh yeah! I checked that out a couple of years ago.
Come mid-summer, the morning sun will hit the TV screen in the south west corner of the apartment.
It occurs to me that I have a strange mind and an even stranger curiosity bump!
The Maxfield has been pestering me this morning... when he wasn't chewing on the rocker...Pet me Mom, pet me! Him a cute lil feller! Ooopsie.. I just heard a small argument out on the back porch!
Everybody's ok... Just a 'dominance' spat. ******************************************************** Just got this from JCC... lolol It's an oldy but goody!
On some air bases the Air Force is on one side of the field and civilian aircraft use the other side of the field, with the control tower in the middle. One day the tower received a call from an aircraft asking, "What time is it?" The tower responded, "Who is calling?" The aircraft replied, "What difference does it make?" The tower replied, "It makes a lot of difference... If it is an American Airlines flight, it is 3 o'clock. If it is an Air Force plane, it is 1500 hours. If it is a Navy aircraft, it is 6 bells. If it is an Army aircraft, the big hand is on the 12 and the little hand is on the 3. If it is a Marine Corps aircraft, it's Thursday afternoon and 120 minutes to "Happy Hour."
Lolol... I just LOVE people! There is more than a little truth here. Thanx JC *******************************************************
At 1500hrs, I think I'll go for the Happy Hour myself! lolol Bring on the vanilla!
Well... let me see here! I got the Christmas stuff up from the basement! Put the tree in the front window... have the candles (elec) burning on either side. Put the lil wooden toy train around the bottom of the tree.. Hmmm.... I have garlands of twinkle lites to put around the archway to the kitchen...What else... oh I almost forgot.... a whole bunch of decorations stored in the chest (coffee table) in the living room...
Some of these pieces go back 50 years... lots of memories attached... I remember the kids and all of the critters. Each ornament, each ribbon comes with memories attached... I don't need the photographs to remind me. All I need do is look at each one and place it where it has always belonged.
Even down to the arrangement of the stockings on the old mantle...
Every year, the library holds it's Christmas bazaar. And every year I donate a painting to be raffled off. Called this morning to give permission to do the same thing this year... Am I nice or what? lollol When I called and talked to the lady (who shall remain nameless), all I was given in return was a hard time... I laffed so hard I cried! lolol I have the best time!
Later all of mine... go in safety always. Remember to start the day with laffter... (The gotcha from the Boss man first thing)... Love one another, smile at everybody and giggle to yourself! Hugs and much love... The holly covered emom....

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS 11/30/2008 posted 1 minute ago For all of mine ... 2008/11/30 1442HRS Sheesh! Hush everybody! I know I'm very late today! (I'm glad the Marv is away for the week-end) I'd never hear the end of it! For some reason yesterday, I decided I was not going to do a thing! I wasn't going to paint, frame, clean, think, nothing! And that's what I didn't do! However, I did play Mah Jongg all afternoon and watch some reality detective shows. (new ones) Learned something about the game and myself too! I had been playing the tiles with the wrong strategy! All this time I played the game with one idea that really did not work for me... The old idea gave me a score of 1 in 25+/- games won; the new gave me a score of 52% won! Now I find that interesting! I am pondering on this.. Any how... It rained all day yesterday... And the Storm gods have returned from their lengthy vacation! Wowser! The thunder rumbled and rolled around the mountains. Dogs wanted in... Did some serious covering diving, some of them. The rest got under emom's chair and atop my feet. I've digressed again (I do that a lot and it's all 3D's fault.) lolol Any way, cool and rainy weather makes me sleepy. Did you know my Body has a mind of its own? Just like my fingers, the Body will do as it chooses when it chooses! My old Bod sets its own schedule! Last nite, over nite, this morning, clear up to the afternoon, Body decided to sleep! I feel great! It's still raining... and it's still cool out there but I feel alive and refreshed... Look out world! I am out of here for now... all kinds of stuff to get done and I've moved the furniture around (great topic of conversation) to make space for a small Christmas tree in front of the bay window in the living room... Been a few years since I've done the decorations... Take care all of mine... go in safety always. Remember to meditate once in a while ... clear the mind of all the junk for a few... It's good for you... hugs and much love.... meems
EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS 11/29/2008 posted 1 minute ago 10/29/2008... 2008/11/28 0547 EST Mornin' all... Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Git in here and set a spell... Coffee's hot and there's toast and stuff... help selves... Hope y'all don't mind me still being in my bathrobe. It's a little chilly in here...had the window open last nite... good sleeping but the room does cool down a lot! lolol It may not be a purty sight but the old robe is warm.(and yes, for all those curious minds out there...I'm wearing the infamous RED robe!) Seems like everybody survived the FAMILY day! The women won't have to worry about the menu for a few days. And the men? Well... They'll recover from the too much food and all the football games! Maybe! lolol TV... I missed the Turkey day parades... Well shoot! I really enjoy watching those huge balloons making their way thru the streets... What the heck time were they on anyway? Parades... I was just thinking I've never been IN a parade. But I have! A horse parade! Mounted carolers. Right around Thanksgiving time! lolol I had forgotten all about this one! The more I think about it the funnier it gets! The ex and I got up early that morning... went to the stables and loaded up the gear. Groomed the horses...Loaded same and headed to the fairgrounds. You talk about your confusion and activities... 50 or so people trying to calm horses... do last minute grooming... putting fancy clothes on the horse... dress up saddle blanket...Dress saddle... cinch just right... saddle bags for me...Seets (my horse) doing a fancy step under me... all excited. Well, foot went into stirrup... I swung up and heard an awful sound... OH NO! OH yeah! My pants had ripped open inside left thigh area! (I was in good shape then... dancing every day...My thigh muscle had caught the pants leg just right. The fabric tore on the diagonal... never had that happen before!) Quick debate with myself... can I make it home, change clothes and get back in time for the start of the parade? I, naturally, decided Yes! Sure! Why not? I give the ex the reins... run to the station wagon... and head towards home. lolol Just a fussing and fuming all the way. Lots of traffic lights between me and home! I have the giggles... I think I like telling this one! Well shoot! I swear I almost ran the first red light because I was in such a hurry. I did't... I made use of them instead. I figured I could make good use of the traffic lights... I would multi-task! Next red light, I took off boots... third red light off came the torn cords... all the way home I was stripping! I left my turtle neck sweater on ... the color was ok for the change of clothes...left on my dance tights, they didn't show plus they were warm! Pulled into driveway... all ready to run into the house.. dawned on me that I am now not dressed! How do I get from the station wagon to the kitchen door? I AM NOT DRESSED! OMG! The lament! What was I thinking? Where was my mind? OMG! I pulled up as close the the kitchen door as I could get.. sprinted for the back door all the while praying "Please God, I hope the neighbors didn't see me"... did my own galloping .. throught the house to the closet...threw on another outfit and made it back to the fairgrounds with plenty of time to spare! Sort of! lolol Some glitch or another had held up the starting time! Somehow, I'd made it! The men had been standing around drinking coffee and gossiping while I was losing my mind! lolol The coffee drinking males is another part of the story! Maybe tomorrow on that one! I have grinned and giggled the whole time I've been typing cause I was hysterical with laffter the whole time I was riding in that parade...Lolol... You have no idea... I had more than one rider come up to me and ask if I was ok! OK will never happen with me! Later everybody... Take care all of mine...Go in safety always...Remember this, please... Never, ever go on a long, public parade with a bunch of coffee drinking males in cold weather. I don't think I'd better go any deeper into this part of the story...ROFLAMO! (I didn't drink anything myself so I didn't have the problem) lolol... tears running down cheeks and turning blue around the edges... Hugs and much love... The still giggling Meems
EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS 11/28/2008 posted 1 minute ago For all of mine ... 2008/11/28 0921EST Lordy, what a day already! Anna called and cancelled the interview. The little gal works part time at the nursing home.. A co-worker had a death in the family. Some time down the road apiece... maybe... Does this mean I don't need to make the bed? It's OK tho... I really wasn't looking forward to tackling the kitchen floor this morning..I work best in the afternoons... when I work at all! lolol Heard from KK aka 3D already this morning.. Sumfin about crazy friends.. lolol...I didn't name any names yesterday, did I? Me? The soul of discretion? The lady of the zippered lips? Me?!? Nah! Wouldn't think so! I think it's amazing that she recognized herself in my thumbnail description! Guilty conscience here? Crackin' up! Gotcha 3D! (inside joke all) I sure do wish they would get spell check on the EONS blog section! I trip over all the typos, words and phrases left out AFTER I have posted the News all over the net! I am a terrible typist! (understatement here) and my fried brane gallops along leaving my fingers behind in the dust. Spell Check, please Eons... Please? Well, I cause WORD to have a nervous breakdown every time I use it! (unless I am being logical which seldom happens). I can write a decent business kind of letter tho! Can you imagine? lololol Tis the season all... The Mangers will be up all over town and at some of the homes... Time to bundle up the kids and drive through your town.... Just look at all the remembers you will collect for future family stories and tales... I worked the holidays for years and years. In my line of business, we never close down... Post is manned 24/7/365... Somebody is always home. The family and I, we managed... And sometimes I would have a funny work story.... Most Deputies, even though not raised in the country, adapted quickly enough to country happenings....lolol I had a deputy.... Let me see here...I'll just call him Frank Smith...Well now, Frank was different (another understatement) This particular month, he was assigned the rover spot... In other words, he covered a district when the assigned deputy was off duty. Now, Frank knew his job and his territories very well! I received a call from a VERY upset man! Seems like he had a VERY large bull outside the front of his house. VERY large bull had taken offense at something a rock walled flower bed had done. (never did figure out just what) VERY large bull was dismantling rock wall... Very large bull was VERY irate! OK... So I send Frank to the rescue/round up... Frank arrives...Sees bull... Frank says to call owner.. have owner respond... I call owner of bull who lives a good ten miles from the scene of activity. Now, mind you, this is the middle of the night! It is cold... I get owner out of bed... advise him of the situation and ask him to respond. Owner tells me no and in no uncertain terms! I advise Frank (who, BTW, still owes me a cup of coffee). OH DEAR! Frank is not a happy camper! He advises 'en route'... Ruh roh... Frank will put up with a lot of nonsense but you DON'T tell him no! In no time at all, Frank and the owner are on the way to collect VERY big bull. Frank does not like to hear the word no and always promptly corrected the situation! VERY big bull is quickly rounded up and packed back home. My opinion? Owner had very sore ears by the time Frank got done.... Tell ya one thing! If I was ever in big trouble, I'd want to know that Frank was on his way to help... A VERY merry Christmas to all my Franks out there... Keep up the good work! Tomorrow I just might tell about city cops and critters! lolololl Take care all of mine... go in safety always... Remember NEVER tell Frank no! Hugs and love... meems
EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS 11/27/2008 posted 1 minute ago For all of mine ... 2008/11/27 0502 EST HAPPY TURKEY DAY ALL OF MINE! Don't faint dead away! I know, I am up before breakfast! Things happen, don'tcha know! lololol Somebody mentioned the commercialism of Christmas nowadays... Maybe that's why Thanksgiving is so special to many of us... Thanksgiving is the start of our season of hope... We start with the family around us... we want this year to be perfect when Christmas arrives.... We want all our 'bads' to be wiped out...We want things to be the way they were. There were stars in our eyes way back when... and there still can be.... Why am I thankful today? Let me count the ways! I am thankful because I have... A cup of hot fresh coffee at hand. (Coffee pot is temporarily forgiven) A happy little pup who has left another shredded paper trail all the way from here to the kitchen... again! And that I have a rake to gather up the shreds. A bunch of crazy friends who genuinely seem to care that I am still alive and that I have lived another day to torment and tease all of mine. I am thankful to have my health... my eyes and ears... I am thankful that, while I am forgetful now, I mind is still able to function. (don't even think it, Brats) I am thankful, oh so very thankful, to be living in my bealutiful old mountains. I am thankful the rain finally fell... And YES there is some water in the pond. I give thanks for all the critters who surround me and live near me...From the brave but foolhardy mini- lizard to the brilliantly colored blue tailed skink...From the not too wise skunk who ambles through every nite to the many many different kinds of birds I see daily...from Eagle to hummers in the summer... The geese... the ducks... My chickyducks... I am thankful my bills are paid... I am thankful for the roof over my head and for the people who helped me get the roof and the house under it. I am thankful to be warm in the winter...Cool in the summer. I am thankful the old pickup truck runs...I am thankful for the quiet...the beautiful days...clear nights. I am thankful for the occasional chorus from the coyotes... the singing of a pack of hounds in the distance.. I am thankful when the 6 pack + 1 join in the sing-song..I am thankful to hear the owl...The murmur of the chicks in their pen. I am thankful that I can love and fuss... argue or debate... tease and torment my loved ones! I am thankful when I open an email or pm to find a corny joke or a terrible pun. Or worse yet, my buddy catches me in an outrageous typo and brings it to my attention two days after the whole world has seen it! I am thankful to be free! To finally be who I was meant to be! I am thankful for the friends who listen and comfort when I might be upset... those who offer support thru the worrysome times. Those who remember me at the holidays and send me good wishes...A 'WTG!' from a friend when something good happens... A buddy who pokes me like a thorn in the side but makes me laff. I am thankful for all of mine who keep me looking forward to another adventure. The knowledge shared and compared. I am thankful! May all of mine find such happiness and contentment... Don't ever give up... Took me all of my life so far to reach this point... Trust me it was well worth the work and the wait! Take care all of mine... go in safety always... remember to watch your step after dark... there just might be a skunk out there waiting to gotcha! Hugs and much love to all my very dear ones on this blessed Thanksgiving Day. Meems
EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS 11/26/2008 posted 1 minute ago For all of mine ... 2008/11/25 1058 EST Well RATZ! Guess who just hit the wrong button and wiped out the first attempt at today's News?!? First 5 guesses don't count! 1. me...2. me... 3. me...4... me. and finally 5. me! I Hate when that happens! I have to laff tho! As maddening as that is, it is funny! Did you ever wonder how many "almost done's" are running around out there in cyber space? The possibilities are endless and mind boggling! LOLOL As I recall, I was ranting and raving about the Marv! What? Who me? at the Marv? Oh yeah! Him going away for Thanksgiving! Him gonna have lobster; I just know he is! I love lobster! Hot buttered yummy lobster... Well, last year just about this time, Marv went on vacation. I put the big guilt trip on him (doing the same thing this year) About poor me... sob sob...starving for lobster! Marv decided he would be kind hearted and generous to boot... Him ships me a live lobster via Grayhounds bus! Even puts a map of Owsley county in with lobster just in case! Off goes lobster on the trip of a very short lifetime! Poor lobster didn't survive the trip... Oh dear! The passengers were unhappy and bailed out on the second day! The bus company was up in arms... Looking for me! After me, the Marvin! Another Oh dear! The bus itself was a total loss... The lobster was in worse shape... and the passengers vowed never to return! All because the Marv decided to be nice for a change! Marv Honey, life is much simpler for every one if you just stay the same rotten brat of a turkey you have always been! Most of the above is not true... Ya pays your dime and takes your chances as to which part IS true... It's all Marv's fault tho. He started it! Gotcha Brat! Oh yesterday, I saw my fly guys. Were just a hustling but the air was so dry, the con trails were very short. And guys, if y'all weren't looking, I was wearing the nefarious red robe!... had chickyduck feed in a brite green bucket and was waving like crazy. I was also looking over my shoulder for a crew with butterfly nets! Anna swears they are gonna come get me! lolol If they do, trust me, 'they' won't keep me long! Nope, I don't think so! I made a verbal report about the chicken theft and the deposit to one of my fave troopers. I am documenting incidents just in case! I won't mention his name but we both cracked up! Poor guy! We got into a short discussion about DNA testing (yesterday must have been the day for talking about DNA!) and what type of response he might get from the lab if he should put in a request! lolol OMG! I was on the floor! Trooper said he would try to spend more time in the area and I said 'No!'... KY State Police cover something like 7 or more counties down here. That is a lot of territory to cover... over miles and miles of mountain roads... God love 'em; they do an excellent job! Any way, I said no because I can take care of myself and others need his time a lot worse... I was just documenting and he knew it! lololol I had a prowler again last nite! Dogs throwing a hissy fit! I went out with pistol.... called dogs... and gave verbal warning... no shots fired...Mr.A (in my opinion) was out and about! Gee, it got so quiet after that... I didn't get to sleep until after 0300 hours this morning. Not sleeping gets old after a while. Best be quiet out there tonite....Meems is getting a little peeved here! Oh yeah! Tomorrow's News will be about all the things I have to be thankful for... be sure to check it out! Guess that's it for the time being... I need to rake the hall and the bedroom... A college student (photograhy) is doing a paper on KY mountain women... I was asked to be a part of her work... I can't wait to meet the young lady... Anna will be bringing her up to the house on Friday around noon. I feel very honored. It seems I am known as 'that painter lady' around here... lolol Also known as eccentric... the lady with the gun... the mean lil old lady... some think I am a Narc which I am not! lolol Lately, I find myself checking with the good neighbors to see what I am up to! lolol They know more about what I am doing than I do... lolol Truth, so help me! Got the giggles... I wouldn't live anyplace else. I am having the best time! And I was afraid I might be bored living this far out from town...? Lolol ... this will NEVER happen! Later all of mine. Take care and go in safety always. Remember to watch where you walk in the chickyduck pen... Oh yeah! hugs and much love... meems
EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS 11/25/2008 posted 1 minute ago For all of mine ... 2008/11/25 1222EST Yes, I know! I'm late! I would still be asleep if Anna hadn't called and rolled me out! lololol Sorry about yesterday... Slept late (didn't get up until 1330 est) Ya didn't have to tell me it was good sleeping weather, the ol' bod already knew it! Oh yeah! Zonked out, I was! When I finally did get myself to moving, it was late in the day. I had all these phone calls to make! FINALLY! FINALLY! Thanks to TCornish, I reached a Lady who was knowledgeable (hugs TC, you earned your pay today), had a sense of humor and a lot of patience! Her name with her permission.. Linda Henry! Linda works in the COMBAT RELATED SPECIAL COMPENSATION (MIA-Army) Bureau. She is a gem and has all the info at her fingertips. Her number is 1-800-892-2490. PBX board operator may answer. Ask for Linda Henry by name or Capt. E. Banks, US Army. Again, this division is for MIA info only.... Some of the info you will need to get the ball rolling... Full name of the MIA... Name, address, phone number of the surviving relative (nearest/next of kin) Was the MIA married? Have any offspring? Is wife still living? Etc.... The government will send a DNA kit and a questionaire to fill out and return. There is NO CHARGE for this service! Now, I gotta tell you I was bad girl already this morning! lolol I flirted outrageously with the good Captain! By the time we hung up, he had the giggles and I was rolling on the floor...! The last thing he said to me before we hung up..."you'll be calling back again, won't you." Not a question but a statement of fact! lolol and there was a kind of OMG! NO! quality in his tone of voice... Oh, yeah Sweetie, I'll be talking to you again... probably in the near future! Did I just hear a small groan coming from his direction? Gots the giggles now!Poor man... This, I think, is above the call of duty! Let's see here... Mr. A is back and I have at least one chicken missing. I will NOT go into the details of this one but let's just say the perp left his lovely DNA sample for me to find inside the chickyduck pen. My opinion, Mr.A would have to do a lot of climbing before he could even begin to reach up and touch bottom! PssssT! Now this is for my flyguys only! I heard you go over today! However, by the time I got outside you guys were covered by clouds...I could still hear you but no see for me. lolol And to think I went flying out the door in my battle dress! The infamous RED BATHROBE! lolol Ok, everybody... you can start reading again! The wind was blowing, mostly sun showing... and there I stand on the driveway in the old RED ROBE!..looking up, shading eyes from the sun, turning in circles! lolol Oh, the new neighbors will really have something to talk about after they move in! How would you like to have me for a neighbor? lolol Speaking of having me for a neighbor, I've had another request for a Broom... I have the makin's all set to go but wanted to finish the News first! I sure don't want to glue fingers to new keyboard! Remember the ordeal with the glue wiped on the sweatpants and gluing said pants to the cushion in my swing chair?!? I'll never live that one down! Crackin' up! Lets see, what else? I guess that's it for the time being! Take care all of mine... go in safety always... Remember to to watch where you wipe the glue... hugs and much love ... Meems
