ME AND MYSELF
I've got to be me, I just have to, you see, just me and no one else I've just got to be me.
It's taken a long time, but the time has finally come, that I'm comfortable with me; I don't want to be anyone else.
With all of my quirks and all of my faults, realizing I'm just human like everyone else, I look in the mirror and see my blue eyes and know that I've finally become my own best friend.
And that is the way I want it to stay, my best friend and me together again, me and myself, I just have to be me.

OPENING THE GATE
Much more than any words can say, snapshot reflections, photos in my mind, life within this moment passing before my eyes, as linking the past with future's gate, mirrored waters reflecting back to me as, opening the gate, I step into the next moment in front of me.

LISTENING WELL
Speaking very softly as I enter this place, no need to shout or loud noises make. For in the stillness of the day or night, I can hear it all if I listen well to the silent sounds that flowers make, their blossoms emerging with the coming of spring; to the sweet songs of birds welcoming the day; I hear them well in the silence of dawn. Mother Nature has so many things to say, secrets unfolding in such powerful ways. So I come in silence and listen well for I don't want to miss anything she's going to tell.

MIRRORED
Upon mirrored glass of an afternoon reflections vibrant under the winter sun, peace filling my heart as I stop to consider the miracle of reflection, the pond barely stirring in the stillness of this moment.

AT THE END OF THE DAY
By Barbara
A Cheryl's Pals Collab
I come to the end of this day, a day filled with blue sky and sunshine, a day filled with fields of flowers and sweet breezes reminding me that spring is on its way. I come to the end of this day as the moon begins to rise up from behind the mountains on her way toward tomorrow. And it's at times like this when all is quiet and and sleep is just a couple of blinks away that those special times run through my mind, that field of wildflowers where I first saw you bloom; daisies dancing in the wind, times that always make me smile, times when we believed we'd never run out of time. And at times like these, just moments before sleep when memories walk with me through the milky way, sweet dreams of night and drifting toward dawn, I smile as I begin to dream of where we will go and what we will do, this time we share with treasured friends, reliving the special ones again and again.

MORNING DISCOMBOBULATION
Discombulated already and the day is still quite young, the most picayune thing simply has me abuzz and all even before I begin to explore the day that's ahead of me, the day that I'm facing once more . . . .
But explore it I must, I simply can't resist, so one foot before the other, my formula for success, and I amble to the kitchen following that morning scent for my first cup of the day guaranteed to wake me up and sit me up so very straight, no more need to wait . . . . as I'm off and running one more time and thankful for that very first cup of coffee and the sunshine and blue skies, thankful for the day ahead and ready to tackle it all.

"Stormy Sea With Lighthouse" by Karl Blechen
GUIDING THE WAY
I've often felt so very lost at sea, My path obscured and cloudy in my sight Not knowing what was there in front of me.
And search I would and trying hard as I might Unable to find a way to lead me where True peace and happiness would feel so right.
Until I finally saw a beacon way out there a lighthouse leading me to a place of rest peace settling in my heart this night so fair.
And now I finally find myself at peace, the path made straight and all my fears do cease.

NATURE'S SEASON CONFUSION
I come to this place on a winter's afternoon my heart seeking a bit of peace and respite from the day's events played out on the news that I simply can't ignore.
And on this January afternoon with Mother Nature rather confused about what season this really is as I delight in the warmth of this day.
And I find this peace I was looking for in the rust and gold of the butterfly's wings as she rests upon winter's spent leaves illuminated by the sunlight and bathed in the warmth of the afternoon.

I find it in the delicate bells, fragile and white as they remind me once again that spring is on the way.
And I find it in the last leaf on the tree just before it loses its grip before my eyes and lands on the ground. And with its afternoon dance I know that new leaves will soon emerge vibrant and strong with the arrival of spring.
And as I turn to leave on this afternoon, peace once again returns to my heart and I take a deep breath, inhaling the fresh air of the day, able to tackle the rest as one more time I'm thrilled with Nature's season confusion.

Wishing you a day full of peace and at least a bit of sunshine and smiles . . . .

JUST WHAT WOULD I BE?
If I had my choice of another creature to be in all of God's wonderful menangerie, I'd have so much trouble choosing just one, for I love them all, so very many I'd really love to be.
I'd love to be an eagle soaring so high, above the canyons and mountains touching the sky. And I'd love to be a dolphins so sleek and so smart, skimming the waves as it captures my heart. I'd love to be a cat and play all day long, no schedule, no agenda, whatever comes along. A bear, a fox, so many I'd love to be, my imagination goes wild as I think of the possibilities.
But for now since I can't choose only one I'd like to be I must be content to dream of what I'd do were I one of them and doing what they'd do -- and soaring so high, skimming the waves, and roaming jungles afar. So at least for today I'll just have to be me.
