AWAKENING TO SPRING
Rainbowed melodies of Spring, arching high and low, their grace notes rippling through forests tall, weaving moss-covered tones of renewal and rebirth; meandering through pastoral scenes, serene and tranquil, green and golden in the afternoon sun; through sweet- fragranced gardens, tulips and daffodils awakening my soul with the music of spring; my heart dancing to its melodies and delighting in its rainbowed song.

ILLUMINATION
In those moments before the sun slips quietly out of view and balances upon the edge of the day, I marvel once more, speechless, at the miracle that I have just witnessed.

(Disclaimer: The following piece isn't necessarily reflective of my religious views or those of anyone else. Intended only as a poetic response to a writing "challenge" and very loosely based upon Dante's classic "Inferno" -- bak)
******************

INGLORIOUS CONCENTRICITY
Dante's inglorious Inferno, concentric circles of eternity, each one bleaker than the one before, not the places I choose to stay, for eternity or even one day.
So in advance I'm here to say I'm definitely going to stay away from those actions that could put me anywhere close to Dante's dreadful Inferno's door.
So loyal and true my middle name, a friend to the end, tried and true, treachery is not within my view.
Honesty another virtue I cherish, no fraud will you find in my background, and a gentle, loving soul am I (most of the time), not a violent streak have I.
And what I say is always the truth, no lies, not even a little one, no heretic am I.
As for the rest, challenges all, but trying hard must help a bit to keep me away from Inferno's door.
So I accept the challenge, day by day, one foot after the other as I make it through the day as trying as hard as I possibly can I'll stay far way from the concentric circled pit of Dante's inglorious Inferno.

RAINBOWED INFUSION
Life's rainbowed infusion flooding my soul, gently opening my imagination's door, as looking out upon this day I marvel once more at the wondrous canvas before me as I step forward into the colors that I see, the sun radiant as it rises from behind these mountains; the roses glistening with dew; the birds and their sweet songs gently awakening me to this rainbowed wonder that envelops my heart and brings life to my morning and color to my soul. SANCTUARY
Each day I rise above the unknown, free to feel, free to be. Dark has faded with the silent rain and daylight brings the hope of today, my sanctuary.

The idea (and such a fun challenge) is to pick out 25 words from the featured poem and, using only those 25 words, (and they may be repeated), create a new piece.
Tonight's featured poem was written by Midnightcharmed:Wildfire --
Freezing from the cruel words that rise. Stuck in the cold air caught up in the mean surprise . Can’t speak a word ,my voice numbed since the beginning . The rise and fall of it all. My heart brakes of a lover’s call. My body is broken, my eyes solid blue ice . My world dark from hurt. Tears flow like a ghost in the unknown. There is no peace in these chains. There is no where I can feel free. There is no one different I can be. My world has fallen before me . I am left standing wondering why. What ever this is the ghost has come for a mind’s ride. And with it , it brought a jaded rain . In the daylight screams out such silent written pain. Everything has turned black. I must now watch my back . I don’t feel safe. And I don’t believe in fairy tales has much these days. And I don’t trust anyone at all . What I have is my sanctuary . Its much the same has my every day simple life. It’s just a little bit cluttered . Wished I could turn back days . Open my eyes . Lessons come and go. Least I’m learning. Things are getting better I just don’t yet have things figured out. And I don’t know from one moment to the next what ill carry on my shoulders . It’s all about change and change comes if one tries . These days I try and crawl , I give it all I got. I pray. I look for that escape of the non stop wheel turning . Most days this minds dark ghost has faded . Maybe the season brings the hope who knows. I have seen some light in the last few months. And I am not alone anymore. that’s all I have to say on the ghost of today.

So I selected 25 different words from Crystal's poem and created one of my own.

SPRING'S EARLY FEVER
Spring is almost here, I certainly won't complain, winter has bypassed us for now, it seems. No mistaking it, the signs are here, an early spring has most definitely sprung.
Explosions of flowers in the blossoming trees

and daffodils blooming in cracked pots of clay, the birds singing sweet songs as happy as I that spring is already on its way.
And the ducks so very still in the warmth of an afternoon sun
and geese swimming about on ponds tranquil and serene, they know that spring is coming too.
And one more sure sign that early spring has sprung, around the corner a new house being built, from morn till night electric sanders and drills and saws a-buzzing so good for the economy as well.
So I must admit that spring fever has struck, an early one at that, but I'm so happy and won't complain and hope the weather stays this way for at least a little while longer.

CONFESSIONS OF AN EX-CLOCKWATCHER
I remember well when I was young and used to watch the clock, so fascinated with the turning hands, the seconds, the minutes, the hours. And as I watched those hands go 'round and 'round and 'round and 'round again, always over-scheduled, always overbooked, time for myself largely overlooked, I simply rushed here and there, always having to be somewhere, never an extra minute to even take a breath.
Instead, I'd spend the day racing and running 'round the clock, and wondering what the future would bring, never stopping long enough to savor the moment, never long enough to appreciate the view. I was more concerned about what happened yesterday or what might happen tomorrow than what was happening now.
And now no longer controlled by that clock that had such power over each waking hour, I've learned how to stop every once in a while, I've learned how to take my time. I've learned how to focus on what's happening now, and not fret about tomorrow, leaving the past behind.
And we're finally working very well together for instead of being my enemy, my time has become my friend.

REPLENISHED
Sometimes I'm convinced that the well has run dry, that the ink has dried up, that there are no words left to say . . . . or if there are, they're hiding somewhere, laughing and joking, playing a game of hide-and-seek and simply don't want to play with me today.
But on days like that I'm not going to let it get the best of me. I turn on the music and listen to the tunes guaranteed to change my mood, ones I know will make me think. And I take a look around me, at the things I've seen before, and suddenly they look new again and the well I thought was all dried up begins to fill again and the words begin to re-emerge, the well replenished once more.
And I dip my pen into the well I thought was all dried up and multi-colored ink begins to flow onto the paper in front of me as I begin to write again.
