2009-10-11 1150 hours… Welcome home, dear heart, welcome home.
Additional on scam… Change your passwords on your accounts… That was another question I was asked… If you use the same password or pin number on more than one account…Change it immediately.
I keep a small address book with all my latest information, pass words and pin numbers… Remember to change it at the phone co. I have several passwords and complicated arrangements… I write them down…
I don’t have enuf stuff going on, right? Check out the Viva today! OMG! I might just as well live outdoors… I think life might be a lot less complicated! Lololol
 or http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/626854-VIVA-WITH-BURRS
Let me see here… The critter supplies are supposed to be delivered today… Grasscutter might be out today or tomorrow…
I have a large itching welt on my neck… (I wish!) Sumfin bit me overnite. Here I go again! The 6 pack + have rearranged the bedding. And the apartment floor needs to be raked again… I don’t even want to talk about the hall way! Sheesh.
It’s chilly outside…. And mostly cloudy… The most interesting part of the forecast? Per Anna, we are supposed to have snow! I would sit down and cry but I can’t work it into my schedule! Boooo Hoooo! Getting the giggles now! Oh dear!
What else…Oh… if you go to www.kentucky.com and check, there is a lonnnnng article on the VA hospital problems at Lexington, KY.
When I was in Lex’s UK hospital two + years ago… the conditions were as bad if not worse… I survived in spite of the treatment and conditions… The elderly and the veterans get terrible treatment or ‘lack of’ would be a better way to state it.
Mine/ours deserve the best treatment available but they are the ones least likely to receive it! No, I am not talking about the health care bill… I am just talking about sub human care that some patients receive at many of the hospitals in KY. How about no meals? Clean bedding and gowns placed over the trash can in the bathroom? How bout swabs and tape, etc., on the floor? How about the floor was not cleaned for the five days I was there? How bout no bath/shower of any sort even tho I responded with a loud yes when asked if I wanted a bath?
No one asked me if I was allergic to anything.(I am) When Glen showed up, Hosp personnel spoke to Glen with deference while I was ignored or discussed in the 3rd person. Can you say non-existent?
I also, several years prior to my own trip to the hosp, had occasion to visit a friend’s father (2nd WW Vet) in the Lex VA hosp!
It was right after 9-11… Anyway, the garage wasn’t too bad…but the stench in the main hosp was intense. One male nurse aide on duty for the whole floor. Poppy was doing well.
His next bed patient buddy was not.
While I was in the room… buddy patient started removing all his IV’s… yanking them (he had several) out. I went racing down the hall to the nurses’ station to advise them. Went back down the hall to the room and talked quietly to the patient until help got there.
Poor fella.. ‘They’ came into the room… dumped the guy on a gurney and away they went. I checked later… the poor guy had been taken “upstairs†and put in restraints…
I am glad to say tho that the general public is starting to take notice of the plight of our veterans and our elderly. If YOU can give even an hour, to visit, to send a card or a flower, please do so. It’s the least we can do to help those who helped us keep our freedom…
Take care all of mine; go in safety always. Remember to give of yourself. A minute or two of your time can be worth a billion dollars to some one who has nothing.
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter… meems
2009-10-10 1845 hours Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Well, I’m gonna tell ya the last few days have been interesting! But first, let me give you my latest Haiku… MOUNTAIN FALL Rubies and garnets How beautiful is My Lady, Touched with soft green jades. PMR 2009-10-10 Little to no sun today and it is chilly. But when the sun breaks thru the clouds the colors are spectacular…deep rich burgundies..cool blue greens of the spruce. I can hear the creek below. There are golds and ambers… I wandered thru and around the field…the ‘wandering jew’ plants have gone to seed. The Sumac strikes a brilliant red patch in the distance… and the seed pods resemble polka dots. Took both little boy turtles out to the pen and released them…Them lil bellies was full of tomatoes…they is fat and healthy…even the one with the damaged top shell. Weren’t on the ground a full minute, they were out of their shells and trundling to the soft dirt section of the pen. I swear to you the undamaged one knows me… he would open up and watch when I talked to him… and yes, Therman, I speak turtle also. The crow family visited today… No complaints from them today… how amazing is that? Lolol AND I have a pair of red tailed hawks moving in. Somewhere on the hill opposite (to the North), the two of them have taken up residence! YES! How wonderful… I always whistle when I go out of doors… and for the last week at least one hawk circles over head when I out there. Some times, both are up there circling… sometimes they scream… Do we have a musical trio going here? Dunno but it’s fun to think so. It is my fantasy world… so there… lolol Update on Mr. A….. He’s been past the house a couple of times… I wouldn’t have recognized him. His face is as colorfully swollen and lumpy as moldy homemade biscuit dough. From the way he sets/rides his 4 wheeler right now, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if he didn’t have some broken or badly bruised ribs. Honestly, you’d think he’d learn by now… It’s not the first time this has happened to him…Oh well… as long as he leaves me alone! Sheesh, the weather is sooooo changeable right now… Yesterday afternoon, I had to turn the window A/C on. Was so hot and muggy… heading toward the 90’s… Today, just now, I shut the bedroom window… Mid 50’ and dropping… I think it’s gonna be a 5 dog, one cat nite again… I took a lovely fall nap today… drifted awake… and floated there in the bed for a while… I was very relaxed… Spoke to the dogs… BIG mistake! Lololol Lilyputz clambers up on my poor bruised body… looks nose to nose with me with them bright shoe button eyes… and licks the tip of my nose. Spudley, who is sprawled on his back, manages to turn his head my direction and starts laff panting… Oh dear… I am in real trouble… lololol Next thing I know… Lily is using me as a trampoline (this explains the bruising).. Spudley is poking me with his nose and play growling… (more bruises) Spud and I have a wrestling match going… I won two out of three pins! Lol… Spud didn’t care… He was still play panting and growling when we stopped… Lily, ever the cheerleader, finally stopped doing her acrobatics on my back side… Safety and survival being foremost in my mind at the time… I roll out and head for the kitchen and the COFFEE! Lololol I am having the best time… It is good to laff…I was really and logically angry yesterday with the scam…Remember, when I am logical, somebody’s in a lot of trouble! Take care all of mine…go in safety always… Remember too… that lafter and play is the best of all medicines… Many hugs, much love…and lots of lafter to all… meems

Thompson didn't hesitate. In a flash, the 85-year-old was scrambling into the cockpit of a P-51 Mustang fighter, just like the ones he flew in China during Word War II. Did the seat seem familiar? Charles Bertram Former pilot Bill Creech, left, with the help of co-owner David Trapp, climbed into the cockpit of a P-51 as a group of WWII fighter pilots and their families toured Mojo Aerospace at Blue Grass Airport on Friday. Charles Bertram WWII fighter pilot Bill Creech pushed the wheelchair of fellow pilot Hank Snow, who was accompanied by his wife, during the airport tour Friday.
if(miyahoo.ads[mi_live_or_preview].dart.enabled){ // 'live' or 'preview' is set during page build _krdDartInc++; document.write(''); } ![]() "Absolutely," Thompson beamed. Thompson, of New York City, is one of a handful of fliers from the Army Air Force 528th Fighter Squadron, known in the war as the "Dragonflies," who are visiting Lexington for a reunion. They took a Kentucky River boat ride and thrilled Air Force ROTC cadets at the University of Kentucky on Thursday with wartime stories. Friday afternoon they were honored at Keene land Race Course and named Kentucky Colonels. On Friday morning, they visited the Aviation Museum of Kentucky at Blue Grass Airport and admired an actual P-51 from WWII. If any group of pilots ever had the "right stuff," surely these fellows did. Take Hank Snow, from upstate New York. Now 86, he flew, not only in WWII but also in Korea and Vietnam, racking up 666 combat missions. "I tell people that 666 rhymes with the devil, and that the devil made me do it," Snow laughs. Bill Creech, 86, of El Paso, Texas, flew 302 missions in WWII, and was shot down twice. "I got knocked down over Burma and walked home," he said. "Spent five days by myself in the jungle. If you haven't done that, don't try it. The fighting was hard, but the living accommodations weren't much better, according to David Thompson. "I arrived in China as a replacement pilot in the winter, and we were reduced to tents, Chinese quilts and going to the coal pile to get our own coal for the stove," he said. Thompson also was shot down but was unhurt, and the war ended a few days later. Jesse Townsend, 87, of Stuttgart, Ark., said the pilots adjusted. "It was more or less an everyday job that we had to do," he said. "And we did it." Only four 528th members were able to make the trip to Lexington. A fifth flier, William Young, 86, of California, came along as an "adopted member." He flew B-29 bombers in WWII. The fliers are holding their reunion here mainly because of one squadron member who never made it home: John Disney of Bailey's Switch in Knox County. He was shot down and killed in China on his 165th mission. The pilots had wanted to come to Kentucky for some time to honor Disney, and this year, they did, with help from Karl Bennett. Bennett, 57, also is from Bailey's Switch. John Disney was his second cousin. Bennett said Disney's story inspired him to become a Air Force fighter pilot himself. Bennett acted as host for the Lexington trip. Bennett visited the area of China where Disney went down and recovered bits of metal from his plane, along with a sample of Chinese soil. He buried those items at a memorial to Disney that his family erected in Knox County. Bennett said that Snow, despite his years, struggled up a steep Knox County hillside to visit the memorial himself. "To see him standing beside the monument," Bennett said, "it choked me up. I'll tell you that." Reach Jim Warren at (859) 231-3255 or 1-800-950-6397, Ext. 3255.

The plane left from a little strip called Mines Field, today known as the Los Angeles International Airport, bound for a three-day journey to New Jersey, where it would be placed on a cargo vessel and shipped to Great Britain to fight World War II's final battles in Europe. The pilot, Silver, a 34-year-old New Jersey native nicknamed Tommy, had spent more than 500 hours in the air and had a reputation for being able to handle fighters like the P-51s, some of the Army's fastest aircraft. It would be four days -- as the other two members of her squad landed in New Jersey -- before anyone realized Silver's plane went down somewhere off the coast of California just minutes after takeoff. On Tuesday, a crew of archeologists, divers, sonar technicians and volunteers began a search 65 years overdue, to find the wreckage of the plane that carried Silver, the only missing and unaccounted for member of the Women Airforce Service Pilots, or WASPs, an elite, all-female flight squadron formed at the height of World War II. adsonar_placementId=1280605;adsonar_pid=42753;adsonar_ps=-1;adsonar_zw=165;adsonar_zh=220;adsonar_jv='ads.adsonar.com'; "Of the 38 WASPs who lost their lives, she's the only one unaccounted for," said Pat Macha, a retired teacher-turned-aviation archaeologist who is leading the search, from aboard a search vessel in Santa Monica Bay. "That's a big motivator," he added. "These women played an important role in our history and their next of kin still want resolution." Three boats are searching for the downed fighter. One carries sophisticated sonar equipment. The others have teams of 10 divers. The sonar crew, helmed by Gene Ralston, who has conducted undersea searches for high-profile murder victims like Laci Peterson and Natalie Holloway, marks a spot on the surface with a buoy. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% US soldier returns looted books ![One of the 16th Century German texts]() The 16th Century books were discovered in a salt mine store A former US soldier has returned two historic books he took as "souvenirs" during World War II. Robert Thomas handed over the two books, both 400 years old, to the German ambassador during a ceremony at the US national archives in Washington. The texts were taken from a salt mine in western Germany, where they were being kept safe during allied bombing. The 83-year-old former soldier said they were in a similar condition to when he had discovered them. "I kept them in two boxes in the darkest and coolest place at my house," Mr Thomas said. He described, as a young soldier in Germany, coming across a chamber "filled with thousands of books, from floor to the ceiling". Like many valuable artefacts, the books were kept in an underground mine at Merkers, near Frankfurt. The German ambassador, Klaus Scharioth, said the books would be returned to the libraries which had owned them before the war - the University of Bonn and the Diocesan Museum of Paderborn. "It's such a 'Gluecksfall' for Germany that we have these books back," he said, referring to the German term for a stroke of luck. Mr Scharioth said the return of the ancient texts represented a "sign of friendship and trust". %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
2009-10-9 SCAM ALERT INVOLVING SUBSIDIARY OF DISH SATELLITE NETWORK. I received a flyer from DISH SATELLITE.. Authorized dealer/ALTITUDE MARKETING HEADS UP… …may also be listed as WWW.4DIGITAL TV.COM… Looking over the flyer, I saw that I could upgrade my TV service with only a $10.00 +/- increase for the next year… I called the number… Very pleasant, helpful people… but it took the longest time almost two hours… and I was given another account number to use for billing purposes. This seemed strange to me but ok…. Verify my social security number.. I called them remember… however, I objected but gave it anyway. So… an appointment is made to install all the new equipment for Monday … Monday is Columbus day. I told ‘Charlie’ I would need to transfer funds on Tuesday..… OK… no problem… we can do it (the install) on Tuesday… ok… fine by me… did I have another credit card I might want to use… nope… Then Charlie… says he will transfer me to a recording that should answer all my questions. I listened to a lot of gobbledegook… but I did catch that my credit card would be charged for the monthly fee. And I would be charged $49.99 for the installation visit.. No no… my original account with the parent company was taken out of my bank account. I called original toll free number. Female answers.. questioned her about the billing… she gave me another number to call… Somehow… this time I reached the right person… I think… Was given the run around again! After numerous calls and messages… I finally reached the right people… In between calls to the company… I cancelled my credit card which had already been charged a total of $26.00. On this one, I spoke to Phillipe. Whole thing was an inter state deal… No problem… Truth is I cannot get the Classic gold deal because it is for new customers only. However,, Charlie and his female ‘supervisor’ went ahead with this… used a false name for me… changed my last name to Riser… my home address gained two numbers… my phone number was changed to 606-563-1555… do the last 4 digits sound familiar… Maybe Charlie and his boss lady thot this was a joke… except that my credit card number remained quite correct… Oh yes, no mistakes on that at all. Well, I talked to Charlie, a David, and two females who did not give their names… I was put on terminal hold… A tip here.. when dealing with any company like this ask for the name and ID number of the person to whom you are speaking! Write it down with the time and date. This will save you a lot of time should anything go wrong. Any way, I called Richmond 911 to make a report… Trooper called and I gave a phone report… advised the trooper I would be calling the KY attorney general’s office on tuesday . And that I will be calling the local FBI office to report an inter-state scam. Federal offense here! OH yeah… Then after all the phone calls on Tuesday, I must call Richmond and give updates to two of the troopers… I called Dish back… and finally got to the cancellation department… Very nice young man…James (yes, I have his ID number) and before him I spoke to Edward who did a lot of work… corrected the false info I was given. Anyway, I think the second account is removed… I was told I probably wouldn’t be repaid for the $26.00 I was charged before I could cancel my visa account. No problem! I don’t even know what the charges were for. Not a problem… the more time I spend on this mess, the more people I will advise… NOW, ASK ME IF I FEEL STUPID! OH YEAH! This will also be posted on my profile blog section. Type in emom101… Here is the phone number on the flier… 1-888-965-DISH (3474)…REMEMBER TO ASK FOR THE ID NUMBER…. Feel free to make a copy of this and pass it on… and also contact your local Better Business Bureau if you get one of these fliers in the mail. meems
2009-10-7 1508 hours Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!
I am here ta tell ya that I have lost numerous years from my life, my temper, my basic religion, my mind, what else? I can’t think right now! I think I am back but I won’t swear to anything today!
Outlook Express is down the old tubes… I can’t get any thing on Instant Messaging (this ruins my love life… lolol) The house is filled with flies… (bath didn’t help)
However, since I did manage to get out to feed the chickyducks and the crows, the crows have quit complaining. The sticky fly strip is working very well… In fact, until I put a chair under it, I got stuck a couple of times myself and lost a couple of head hairs. Duh Paula! Can you say ouchie? Sheesh…
The two lil boy turtles have been fed… they like tomatoes… I’ve ordered the 6 pack and kitty supplies…They’ll be delivered I hope… and I am still waiting for the guys from the phone co to come out and work on the puter set up.
Can I have a nervous break down now?
Oh, I forgot to add Marvin to my list of troubles! Lololol There are a few others out there I could mention… Like the Boss, LJ, the Bratski, Golfer…Therman… I knew I shouldn’t have started a list of any sort… As soon as I do, my mind (what little is left) goes completely blank… But I’m sure you all get the drift! Lolol OMG!
Anyway, I’m keeping my fingers crossed about the service…
Later all mine… Take care and go in safety always. Remember to try to get along with your servers… Oh yeah….
Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter… meems
EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS posted 2 minutes ago 2009-10-5…1506 hours… Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home…
Come on out here on the porch and set a spell… Boy, the mountain telegraph has really been busy. Seems like somebody beat the living daylites out of Mr. A this weekend. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one he visited on Saturday. Truly I pity him… He has not one friend in the world but he never seems to learn. This isn’t the first time he’s had the stuffin’ pounded out of him. He appears to be willing to suffer anything as long as someone is paying attention to him.
Did you ever buy something on sale that you knew better than to buy? Like AA and AAA batteries? Oh yeah, I did! About two weeks ago I did that! My keyboard batts died at/ about noon today. And yes, I had to make the trip to the two pumper for some more AAA’s. Lots of AA’s there … only 1 pack of the triples. ONE! AAAARRRGGGHHH!
Let’s hope these last for at least a week…Would be nice anyway if they would!
For all my ‘sub’ guys out there… I just watched a program on the construction of the USS New Mexico… Impressive…Very impressive! She’s supposed to be commissioned and launched sometime this year… didn’t give the month. Six bunks and a slideway? Personal items spaces almost non-existent! Who cares? … she is a beautiful lady…and she will take care of all of you….love her with all your hearts….
Guess what?!?! I now have another little boy box turtle in a ten gallon bin here in the bedroom. I don’t know where Spudley finds them… but here he comes yesterday afternoon with the poor lil feller in his mouth…
I just came in from outside… sat on the porch for a while… saw some of my BBSBs up there… Wooo hoooo… got flashed a few times. I did my flasher dance… waved, hugged and threw kisses… OMG! It is a gorgeous day out! I hope my flyguys have as much fun flashing as I do getting flashed… lololol Today was just right… just enuf moisture in the air for me to see the contrails but not enuf to make my life miserable.
While I’m a setting there, here comes the Spudley with sumfin in his mouth… I yelled .. he ran under the truck and dropped it… what ever it was… I get up… trundle out to the truck… get on my belly and start looking! Lordy, I’m thinkin’ that must have been a sight and a half to any onlookers… lolol Trust me, gravel is hard on the old knees! Shut up Marv!
Yup yup.. another little boy Tarpin…Drug him out from under the truck and started talking to him. He peeked out at me .. lil red eyes… This one has been injured sometime in the past…has a very scarred and dented shell. Poor lil feller… so anyway now I have two of em here in the bedroom! Sheesh!
And were you all aware that the Marv has been a grump for a week or so? Oh yeah… and now, it’s all my fault he’s having problems with his aquarium… Yup, MY fault! Must have been Broom… this is her kind of flying weather… maybe she made a quip trip to the west!
While I was down that way, I stopped by Anna’s… Dale, her polite son, stopped for a cuppa… I told him I was gonna embarrass him… so I told him about the ‘polite’ comment that Becky made and also my rotten response. Then I added that he, Dale, has cute buns! Now, I really didn’t say that to Beck but Anna and El and uncle and friend cracked up… Dale turned purple. My bad! Lololol
All in all, this has been a good day…I’ve been rotten to the core… Laffed my buns off… flirted with my flyguys…Purfect day, weatherwise… ya can’t ask for any more than that!
Take care all of mine… go in safety always… Remember to remember the good and the fun!
Many hugs, much love and loads of lafter… The ‘ I really should behave myself ‘ meems
EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS posted 1 minute ago 2009-10-4…0930 hours Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!
Come on in and set a spell… Help yourselves to whatever…It’s chilly out there.. all of 38 degrees but the sun is out and the skies are clear for a change… I just might get my buns in gear after a bit and go outside to play in the dirt again! I still have a few more bulbs to plant.
I must say tho that bending or being on your knees to plant stuff is not the easiest thing to do when you have the .38 strapped to your waist. Well, I guess if I lost a couple of pounds it just might be a little easier. Or not! Lolol
Let’s see here… I was out and about yesterday…I ran down to Anna’s.. you saw the picture of her and the Barkley. Anna and El are as bad about critters as I am… El sat on the porch and fed the lil Barkley. Tell ya what, that lil dog will not lack for food or affection. They truly are good people. Well, maybe not…Anna gives me a hard time. Lolol Not that I don’t deserve it! Lol. I haven’t told her about giving away her age yet.. Oh dear, will I be in trouble then!
And the Wayne is gonna’ get on me…you just watch! He and Carol are out taking a mini vacation. When he gets back and finds out I am back to taking sleeping pills again, he gonna chew my ears. Oh yeah!
Well, kids…It’s like this. I either go back on the pills for a while to try and get on a schedule or I go through this 3 or 4 hour sleep and then 3 or 4 hours awake… and then sleep 12 hours or more straight through! I’ve opted to go back on the 8/9 hours sleep and up the rest of the day.
Oh dear, now I have a singsong going in the kitchen… The Newbie starts it… I even hear the roosters joining in! lolol Honest, I’m not making these things up… I just have an interesting crew living here. BTW, it was a 5 dog nite again. I had the window open and the fan going…
The critters are practicing up for the Doggie Cover Diving Olympics again. Really good at it, they are! It is a little eerie tho, to see the leopard spotted covers moving from across the room and no dogs in sight! Lololol
Did I tell you about the crows being outside the east window? Just a fussin’ cause they were out of food. Sheesh. There ain’t no rest for the wicked. Lolol … They sit in the trees out back to let me know they are waiting… If that don’t work, they come to ground and complain. Ain’t nature wonderful! I love it up here on my mountain!
I’m not sure, but I think it was yesterday that a heldoctor went over the house… rattled my coffee mug… lolol He was flying low and in a hurry so I didn’t make it outside in time to wave… but I did get tickled… Them guys can get my attention right away. Oh yeah! When the whole house rattles, you absolutely know that you’ve had a visitation! Love you guys… Guess that’s it for the day. Oh I almost forgot… I cut some of them yellow daisies and brought them in… put them in a red apple shaped pitcher. Might even do a painting of them… They don’t last too long once they are cut.. but I just couldn’t resist. Still plenty left outside tho.

Later all of mine. Take care and go in safety always. Remember to watch out for the bad guys so they don’t getcha!

I swear to you, this sleeping 14 hours everyday is a bummer. I wake up rested but I ain’t getting a thing done! Nuffin! Well, I did get up and prop the door open so the dogs could run in and out on their own… I still think I need a revolving door. Pretty days and here I am sleeping them away…
Well, I did get the chickyducks fed and watered… drove down there in the truck again and then parked out back. Drives some of the good neighbors crazy tho when I park out back… they can’t see whether I am home or not. Lolol
Poor Butch! I went past his place yesterday on my way to the two pumper. Stopped to see Anna and the rotten crew down there. Got to telling her and El about some police war stories and we cracked up.. Their grandson was there… and we had a blast and giggled like crazy…
I told them about the Life Squad and the lost patient/gurney thing… Anna cried and El complained about not being able to breath… And everybody be sure to read Sherri’s comment on yesterday’s blog…
That lady knows exactly what I am talking about. Sometimes, I would ask ‘why me?’ at work… other dispatchers didn’t have those kinds of calls… A fire in the washing machine…. A hen house on fire… (I took orders for white meat, dark meat, thighs, breasts…) lolol The guys all cracked up… even the second in command got on the intercom and ordered southern fried. Why me?
Then there was the time the elderly lady called for a life squad for her brother… What’s the problem? He’s overdosed! We’ve got to get him stopped!
Well now, you know what happened! I was hysterical. My partner that day looked at me and wanted to know what I had… I managed to get out …†Listen up, I can only say this onceâ€Â!
Disp: Attn ## life squad needed at….. elderly male OD on Epsom salts! OMG! Didn’t make any difference how serious or not… I lost. Gots lots of radio clicks and phone calls.. Even got some sound effects on Intercity Freq… Oh yeah, A lot of ppl listen to the scanner… and too many of them knew me.
One time, I gave the time as 0498! Boy, did the phone ring that time!
We, God love us, were all too human sometimes. One dispatcher had a call for a mattress on fire behind the high school. Not only did she say it once, she repeated herself! A mattress ON SALE behind the high school..
And then there was the male dispatcher… who should have said to the life squad…elderly male difficulty breathing… said difficulty BREEDING! Twice mind you! OMG!
These are just a few of the sillies that kept us sane…
And then there was Brian… Rottenest kid ever… He worked as an EMT at one of the townships… He also worked part time another township P.D. dispatch. He would key the mike and do a ‘whewie’ on me… that was it… not a word… just the sound… He knew I knew who! He also knew that I would crack up when I heard him. He’d sometimes do this when I was dispatching another call on another frequency…
I miss that sometimes… a whole lot… and then there was the time my ex John and I were having lunch at Frisches Big Boy.
I was just a chattering away. A Sunday after church couple came in and sat at the next table.
Now, I wasn’t being loud or obnoxious just husband wife talk… Well pretty soon it became obvious to me that the lady of the couple seated next door was drinking in every thing I said. Normally I don’t mind eavesdroppers but this lady almost had her head in my plate. That’s a no no, lady!
Right in the middle of a sentence on mowing the grass or sumfin, I threw in “ John, we are gonna have to get married here pretty soon. The kids are starting to ask questions.†I then switched back to the grass and lawn mower.
Can you say “Waves of disapproval?†from the lady? And John was ready to kill me… he was facing this lady at the time… and had to sit there. The couple finished their meal quickly and left! LOLOL I kinda got my ears chewed later. But as I told John, if she hadn’t been listening she wouldn’t have heard. Seemed logical to me at the time and it still does. There’s another one… don’t ever take me to lunch in a public place… that is asking for trouble… Oh dear… My bad!
Later all of mine. Take care and go insafety always. Remember to tie my hands and put a piece of tape over my mouth if we ever go anyplace together…
Many hugs, much love and loads of laffter… the rotten to the core meems
