2009/9/10 1200 hours… Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home.

TOMORROW IS WEAR RED DAY!  REMEMBER OUR TROOPS IN AND OUT OF THE SERVICE.

Wowser…. I just might be back in business, puter wise.  I woke up this morning and the server light was still green!  YES!  I am laffing here… Keep fingers crossed for me and I am holding my breath!  No, I don’t look good in that shade of purple but I don’t know what else to do!

Are there puter gods?  I sometimes wonder if we haven’t overlooked the old ways.  New inventions and new ‘gods’ show up?  Or gremlins…or imps of perverse?  If I can work pondering that subject into my schedule, I’ll work on that thot!

Purty morning… grab some coffee or tea or hot chocolate… help selves and then get your buns out back here on the porch.  Rest, relax and enjoy the company!  Just no food fights or feeding the scraps to the critters… especially the Lily… Her is putting on the pounds… she is a terrible beggar… and some of her begging actions crack me up.

http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/611165-My-Lilyputzer-2-9-9-9

Lily also talks to me… She ‘says’ water… outside… hungry… somebody (4 legged type) wants in/ out..  She, the Lilyputz, has passed on this ability to the Newbie who howls/sings.  And to Viva who sits in the hall and barks…

Yesterday, there were 3 or 4 sing-songs.  Dogs just a carrying on from the apartment to the back porch… I went out back to check and make sure everything was ok… yup, they were just singing!

Well, yesterday I found an embedded deer tick on me… Ratz, here we go again!  Itching… I think I must complain to somebody… lolol  Yeah right!

And I have to tell you about a comment I received from a very nice lady about yesterdays news… Remember the lizards?  Well, the lady said, and I quote: “I almost peed my pants!”from laffing so hard.   Well dear heart…so did I at the time!  Just saying!  Lololol

You all know me and my bad coffee habit… Well, I had to run down to the two pumper to buy a ‘pot of gold’.  $11.29 for 2 lbs 1 ½ oz of ground coffee!  I almost fainted… I’ve been using my beans ($1.00 a bag on sale) for almost a year +/-  and had no idea the price had gone up that much!  Sheesh!

Any way, on the way to the store, I stopped at Butch’s place.  He and another guy were sitting on the porch.  Well, Butch waved me on up.  I turned the truck off… right in the middle of the road.  (we do things like that here in the mountains).  Trucked on up to the porch… pulled up a loaded 5 gal bucket and parked my buns on it.  (That’s another thing we do here in the mountains… sit on 5 gal buckets) We jabbered for a few… Me tormenting and teasing all the way… Butch got a new nanny btw.  Purty white critter.

I was finally introduced to the unknown male on Butch’s left… Bruce.  I don’t think Bruce quite knew what to make of this outspoken, rowdy female.  Lololol  Can’t imagine why.  I ain’t nuthin like the women here!  I am neither quiet nor unopinionated! What?  Who me?  Quiet and sedate?  I don’t think so!

Any way, as I was leaving there to continue my trip, Butch yells “ here comes one”.  I jump back out of the truck, sure enuf, here comes one of my flyguys.  A heldoctor!  Woohoo!  I waved and did my usual things! (remember the complete stranger Bruce.  I do believe he was observing my activities but he never said a word)

Well, them cute lil fellers in the heldoctor spotted me there in the roadway.  Heldoctor waved it’s bottom at me… I cracked up!  Flyguy had light reflecting from the glass on pilot side of the dragonfly.

Did you know there IS a dragon fly here in the mountains that’s shaped just like a heldoctor?  It’s even a military type green color!  Truth, so help me.

Once upon a time ago, a friend told me that heldoctors ain’t planes and shouldn’t be hanging around in the air.… planes have wings!  Heldoctors can’t fly!  Lolol  I do think there was sumfin wrong with his reasoning here but I just can’t put my finger on it.  Lolol

Go in safety all of mine…And whether heldoctors can fly or not doesn’t seem to bother the heldoctor dragonflies at all!  Not that I’ve noticed anyway!

I’m losing my mind.  Just went to the kitchen to get more coffee and left my fave blue mug back here in the apartment!  Lolol  Been known to do that before!  Oh yeah! Lololol

So now, I have two mugs of coffee back here… OMG!  I need help!

Before the day is over, I may or may not have 5 or 6 mugs back here!

On that upbeat note, I am outa here.  Take care all of mine.  Go in safety always.  Remember that life is a joy to be shared.

Many hugs, much love and lots of laffter every day… The always doing sumfin meems

2009/9/9 1015 hrs Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home…

The following! Lololol Is from my demented Marv:
****marvinll commented on your blog post on eons.com:
"I waited all day by the computer, I waited and waited for your blog, and then I read your blog, but where was the photo of you in the bubble bath?
Huh?"****
Dementedness is the least of his problems… Somehow I see the Mountain News becoming Z rated…That Z stands for the end, the last, the can’t get any worse rating possible! All thanks to Marv… I don’t understand how I have gotten so lucky… Shut up Marv! Lolol

The emom here is a little old fashioned in some ways… Don’t talk about my private life…never have and never will.

However, at one time, I did go around the house wearing a minimum amount of attire. (here we go with the starkers again)

Well, where do I start with this one? Hmmm… I guess I’d better start with my youngest daughter’s vacation trip to Fla. She was there for about two weeks. Drives back home… comes over to see the mom… brings 20 or so wild lizards along with her.

Glen sees them… MOM?!? (here we go again) Yes, Glen… Mom, can we? Yes, Glen Put them in the 20 gal tank in the dining room…put the lid on it, Ok? Ok, Mom! ( I was born a girl scout… always prepared) Of course, at one time I ‘scouted’ for the male of the specie! Paula, behave yourself!

Ok, so now I have an aquarium full of wild hungry lizards… No problem…right? Don’t bother to answer, you have no idea where this is gonna end up and neither did I! Lolol

I go about my business…I am still working shift work at the Police Dept or Sheriff’s office… or or or

Anyway, the next day when I get home from work, I find that Glen had only put a piece of screening over the top of the tank… nothing used to hold the screen in place. The herd from a hot climate (read hell) had made a total jail break.

I now have wild critters rambling through a 10 room, 3 story house with full basement… so make that 4 stories. Add another room under the porch. Loved that house, I did, and she is nearly a hundred years old now… ah well… that’s another story.

So… one day I walk into my studio which is off the master bedroom. Sumfin in there screeches at me. Hmmm… I just kept going but it did cross my mind to wonder what critter might make a noise like that.

Eventually I was finding critters in the lace curtains, on door frames. Never knew when you might trip over another… lolol

OK… so it is summer time… I need to build low walls around the window wells to keep the rain water from running into the wells.

Ok… I decide to run to the concrete place to order two cubes of paving brick… I also intend to cover the front steps and a curved front stoop.

So the boys and I go out to the jeep…Look out world here we come!

We arrive at concrete place which is out in the county a ways. Find the type bricks I was looking for… Pay the guy and arrange for delivery later that day.. Wowser, I can get started right away on the two projects…

Tell the guy I will call as soon as I get home. The boys and I are going to pick up lunch then go straight to the house.

We did buy lunch.. went straight home…into the breakfast room off the kitchen. I started to sit down but one of the boys reminded me to call concrete place. So before I had even had a chance to sit I find myself in the dining room, making the call.

Finished the call … came back into breakfast room… start to sit down… feel a cold spot on my left thigh!

I stand up, look down at leg. I am thinking I must have spilled something on myself. Nope. I go to sit down again…

I definitely have this cold feeling on leg… Ok, so this time I feel the spot… SPOT MOVED! I jumped… grabbed the moving item. I had just been out in the countrified section of the County… Something has crawled up my leg under my jeans!

Now, I DO have a problem. I am wearing skinny jeans… and cotton underwear…Some how I must figure out a way to remove jeans without removing underwear or letting go of moving animal! (Remember this is happening in the breakfast room and the boys are sitting in front of me)

So here I am, doing a dance… Boys are wearing the ‘Now what!’ expression. OMG! The gyrations I am performing! Can you say ‘panic?’ lolol

Well, it took me a bit but I finally managed to get the jeans off and keep my underwear on. So now, I stand there with a death grip on the creature in my pants leg…
Phil, the youngest, says Mom, shake it loose and I will stomp it! Sounded like a winner to me! So that’s what I did! Lolol

Out dropped one of those damned (yes, I am cussing here) wild lizards… Phil stomped before I could stop him and Glen started lamenting right away. AAAAAAAWWWWW MOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Oh dear… somedays ya just can’t win.

Sometime, remind me to tell you about the garter snakes in the bucket at work.

I guess that’s it for today… running out of space again before I run out of words…lolol

Take care all of mine. Go in safety always. Remember to say no to your children sometimes. It CAN be good for all concerned! Or not! Lolol

Many hugs, much love and lots of laffter your way… meems, the irrepressible!

2009/9/8 1009 hours Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home…

Come on out here on the porch. The sun’s up but it is a beautiful misty morning here on My Lady, the mountain. Set yourself a spell… and yes, I already have the giggles this morning.

As you all know, strange things happen up here at my place. Well, they do and I don’t make things up… not much anyway. Lolol

I told you about trying to help Beck with some paper work. How bout she showed up waaaaaaay after dark last nite? Well, we come back here to the apartment and dive right in on the work. It’s been a long day for both of us and we are both tired.

Now, understand that the News is typed up on WORD. Do this almost everyday right? Not last nite! Uh uh, no way!

My fingers came undone from my brain and some one had poured crazy glue on my keyboard! My addled fingers promptly and permanently glue themselves to the wrong keys.

I am not the best typist in the world (just ask KK) but normally I am not the worst either. Last nite was a total disaster…

Not only was I having a battle royale with the puter, the Newbie decides that he is still madly in love with Becky.. Now I have a battle trying to keep body and soul together while the Newbie keeps bumping into my swing while I am trying to type and think! (Both of which appear to be lost causes)

This is NOT working, good people! Trust me, it ain’t!

Surely it couldn’t get any worse, could it? Oh yeah, it could and did! I have no idea what set the two of us off but we got the giggles… which turned into out right hysterics.
Trust me again, good people… Laffing till you are crying and typing are not compatible!

I finally put my head down on the table and howled with laffter! Pounded my fists, turned blue, and tummy started to complain about the lack of oxygen to the brain. Becky is pounding on my shoulder. (this doesn’t help me a bit) I laff all the harder.

I don’t know how long this session of madness lasted but we both were exhausted at the end of it!

Finally got the paper work done…Thank You, Lord! Beck went on home…

I took a long lovely bubbly bath, read for a while and then collapsed! I am getting too old for this rowdy late nite partying! Shut up, Marv!

And then during the ‘typing’ hysteria I received the following from my fave roving reporter Donna aka Jasmin at Maui…

“Coconut Wireless to Emom’s Mountain News…Newsflash on BBB (Bamboo Bulletin Board) this a.m. reads as follows. MONDAY…9-7-09...BBB operator has recovered from Sat. uproarious yak with Local Mountain Woman aka editor of the Mountain News. BBB operator says Mahalo for Sun. news report.

“This just in... MESSAGE FOR NEWBIE from the Doggie Shoutbox in Doggie Heaven. Hey Dude...It's Barney...Word's out up here that you could win this year's Canine talent show with your "Howl and Yowl" routine. We can hear you loud and clear all over the heavens. How about that Rake job you got from your mom on Sun. Doggone dude...that beats the paw any day.

“The Six Pack is going to be laying down for that rub-a rake. Chow Dude...Barney aka Pres.of the Newbee fan club. “

Thank you, Donna for the latest from the Islands… lololol

Guess that’s it for the day. Take care all of mine… Go in safety always. Remember to enjoy the music of nature… Therein lies the peace of the world.

Many hugs, much love and tons of laffter to all… meems

2009/9/7 0636 hours…Welcome home dear hearts, welcome home….

I was up before breakfast again… It’s the middle of the nite… It’s dark outside! Sheesh, I should still be cover diving and here I am on my second cuppa…

Come on it and grab something to munch on… and like I said yesterday, you fix the next pot of coffee…I ain’t a getting near it! That coffee maker don’t like me at all!

One thing I can tell you for sure, dark or not, the mountains are covered with mists…Late yesterday, I watched as the mists came rolling up the holler… the far mountain slowly
disappeared…

The mists are still there this morning… So quiet and still.. not even the sounds of the birds just yet…Some days, I live in the clouds. Some days I live above them… I am so blessed here and the My Lady, the mountain, contains all the beauty of the world for me.

Remember the magic word “planned”?… lolol Well, I planned to go to bed early last nite! Didn’t happen again.

The phone rings and it’s almost 2300 hours… Now what? It’s Becky!

Now, she is one of my ‘kids’… She needs some paper work done… Dates, times, research… all that neat stuff! She is frantic… I go to work on finding the info for her. Diaries, Blogs all help in the search for when and why and all that other pertinent junk. I call her back and let her know I am zeroing in on the needed info… She thanx me and tells me she is going to bed now and will call in the morning!

She is going to bed and I am in the middle of a paper storm?!? Lolol I am gonna beat that child to a pulp one of these days… I am entitled… I’ve earned and deserve the right!

Then again, she puts up with my nonsense and has for all these years… She knows I am here for her and vice-versa. Lolol

view link

Newbie playing with Beck and trying to climb into her lap! LOLOL

Well, speaking of the Newbie… The critter with a serious case of fur-fall-out! That boy has more fur than any dog I’ve EVER had!

I raked the apartment floor last nite… I mean this is a job… cords/wires running all over the place… the dogs were all outside or in the kitchen on the cool floor..
I start raking… The next thing I know I have one extremely large dog standing right in the middle of where I am raking! Sheesh!

I try to shoo him out of the apartment… he ain’t going. I walk over to the door… ‘come on, Newbs…’ Nope, still ain’t moving…

Ok, I decide to work around him… uh uh… this ain’t working either…Hmmm… As I stand there and try to figure a new strategy, he plops down right in the middle of a pile of fur…

OK! There he lays… looking very much like a sphinx! I give up and start raking him!

I rake up and down his spine, his legs… he even holds his tail up so I can rake it! OK… Then he rolls over on his back all four in the air… grinning… tongue hanging out… sheer ecstasy written all over him. And, idiot that I am, I’m letting him get by with this… aiding and abetting! Lololol I rake his belly…

My arms finally get tired… I sit for a while … Newbie wanders off! I finally get all the carpet raked and curried.

Newbie comes back and the fall out begins all over again… I can’t win! Lolol

I thot about going to town today but I’d better hold off if I’m must go in tomorrow for Becky. I will need to run down to the two pumper tho… I am almost out of coffee.. Down to my almost last bean, so to speak…

The main store where I usually bought my beans is the one that burned to the ground last month. The owners are going to rebuild but they won’t be back in business for months.

Not much else going on right now… I need to see if this is the week that Weed comes over to mow… I think it’s next week… but I’m not sure…

Take care all of mine. Go in safety always…Remember don’t start raking any dog… They DO remember. Might not get any other message but if it feels good, they NEVER forget! Lololol

Many hugs, much love and lots of laffter your way… meems

2009/9/6-0743 hours… Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!

Y’all get your buns in here and make yourselves to home… If we need more coffee made, somebody else best be a doin’ it. Lolol That coffee pot hates me! It sends out vibes that overwhelm whenever I get near it…

I had enuf coffee left this morning to fill my old blue cup… stuck it in the microwave… (I noticed right away there was not an ounce of sour cream in there this time)

Went to the coffee maker… lifted lid.. rinsed pot… filled reservoir .. Got new filter out of the cupboard…put in maker…

Got the coffee bean can down… got a large scoop of beans… Promptly deposited them in the filter – unground! Hmmm… this is not the way it is supposed to look… lolol

Decide that I had best put the beans in the grinder and let it, the grinder, do it’s thing. Now I am starting to giggle… 0630 hours is WAY too early for me to be handling dangerous heavy duty machinery!

Well, I finally get the beans ground, into the filter, put lid down and turn the elec on. Whew… Now to get my nice hot leftover coffee out of the microwave that I forgot to turn on!

As soon as I get finished with the News today I am headin’ straight for the beddin’. I can see it is not getting any better. And beings’ I’m a little bit accident prone at the best of times, I think I will be much safer. Lolol A lot of truth there!

Last evening, I got a call from my fantastic roving reporting in the Hawaiian Islands. I am out in the kitchen cooking dindin when the phone rang…

Well, I shut down/turn everything off… and come back here to plant my buns in my swing and prepare to listen, giggle and learn… That woman is sumfin else… Her been busy tho. Her is quite an artist of all sorts. She is developing a newspaper/letter that will give abandoned and abused children in the isles an outlet…to ask questions… get answers… and to let the children know they are not alone. Way to go, Donna!

We talked about this and that… I laffed so hard… She thinks I am the greatest thing since toast! This definitely proves there is no accounting for taste! (Thank you Capt. Kirk, USS Enterprise) Aloha, rotten kid! Next time the phone call is on me! Lolol

Then I tripped over another friend who I haven’t talked to in years. Had the best time trying to chat back and forth thru emails…

Anyway, when I finished that conversation, I went back to the kitchen and warmed my breakfast… Yup, it was my first meal of the day… Chicken breasts, gravy and smashed taters… Fresh out of Anna’s garden some of the best and tastiest home grown tomatoes I’ve ever tasted. A feast in no uncertain terms… Even had home delivery… She dropped them off on the way to church…

Being the nosey person I am, I asked her to slow down when she went past the now gone new neighbors place and check out what was going on up there.

Anna thot that was a brilliant idea and gave me a call on her cel when she got to the church…lolol Somebody is cutting a clear drive path down to the creek. Mountain telegraphy at its best!

I HAD planned (nasty word that) to get to bed early… Well, between eating breakfast back here in the apartment, listening to my fave music, and playing mah jongg, I didn’t get to bed til after 0100.

Climbed in…Dogs, cat and I all snuggled down for the nite…I got to thinking about all the good things that had happened to me .. especially the funny things… Yup yup, you got it! I got tickled…Marv and his double gotcha…The Boss with his rendition of a skinny me… Anna and the tomatoes… the long lost friend… Donna and her wondrous sense of humor…

Ya know, I can’t sleep at all when I am laffing? I finally drifted off to sleep tho. I was smiling .. woke myself up several times over nite laffing out loud… woke up early with a smile… Don’t get much better than this!

Another thing… I have no idea what happened to the News yesterday… I typed it up the same as always but it turned out all scrunched up. Sorry bout that.

And I do want to mention my co-mod on VNV and WHVV. God love him, Tcornish quietly goes about posting all kinds of info and updates for all our guys and gals who have been or are still in the military… TC is a good man… thank you, dear heart. You have the patience of Job and the heart of a saint… hugs and again…thank you.

Headin’ for the beddin’ now… nap time…lolol Remember each day has it’s wonders..Enjoy them all!

Many hugs, much love and a ton of laffter your way… meems

2009/9/5 1250 hours

I think I am with it… but maybe not. Yesterday was a dilly! I laffed til I cried… First of all, I got the following from Marv… and then the fun began! The Boss got in on the fun and was being nice? (I ain’t too sure about this but he did show the gorgeous, skinny side of me!) I am on the floor!

2009/9/4 marvinll commented: "Where to begin.

Well the new emom page look is sort of interesting, it's a good thing I can read hieroglyphics.
As to your comments in the famous ASK MARVIN group here on Eons, which anyone can join (hint, hint) that has a sense of humor.
I have a question emom, how'd you ever get accepted?
Gotcha!
Stripping you say, stripping. Thank the lord Gypsy Rose Lee didn't live to see the day you were trying to give her competition.
Gotcha again!
I don't think we'd be good dancing in Swan Lake, but if they ever turn "Forrest Gump" into a ballet, we're a shoe in."

view link
And then in the afternoon, I decided it was nap time… All snuggled in… dogs and cat. (BTW, When I woke up this morning, I had a kitten curled up in my left arm pit) I heard a heldoctor go over… Twice is sounded like… but I was drifting between wakefulness and sound sleep. I didn’t get up…
Then the phone rang… Well, ratz! I roll out… It’s Anna..” What’s going on up there? There’s a helicopter circling your house!” I said, call you back. Slammed the phone down and went running out the side door… I was wearing the red robe again! Oh dear! Lolol
Could hear the heldoctor on the east side of the house… Flew down the ramp and out into the middle of the front yard…
Yup, there it was! I cracked up… I waved and threw kisses and all that neat stuff…Fly guy waggled his bottom at me (NO, I didn’t get mooned)… Does a ‘waggled bottom’ mean the same thing as a flash? Just asking cause I sure don’t want to get my signals mixed.
I waved until the bird flew over the mountain… walked out to the mail box… nothing but junk but walking back to the house I heard voices and stuff coming from the now gone new neighbors place…
I looked up the road and there were at least 4 trucks up there. Trucks = people right? Oh dear…Here I am standing in my drive… loudly laffing and giggling about my flyguys, wearing my infamous red bath robe, thinking I am all alone up here!
The people WERE looking my direction… lolol I waved at them and came on into the house… They’re gonna come take me away, hey hey!
And here is another highlight for your day… I found my fave blue mug last nite… cleaned and bleached it. Set it on top of the coffee pot so I could find it this morning.
Filled that baby with last nite’s coffee and took it to the microwave.. Opened the door to nuke the coffee and what did I find? The sour cream I put on the taters… I have no idea why I might do sumfin like that! Remember the ice cream in the microwave incident? Sheesh…
At least I didn’t find my telephone in the fridge like Anna did that one time… I think that’s a plus!
Take care all of mine… go in safety always. Remember to always double check your microwave before you go to bed at nite… Never know what you might find… lololol
Many hugs, much love and lots of laffter… The still giggling meems…

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!

Get yourselves sumfin to drink… coffee, tea, hot choc? Come on out here on the porch and watch the sun come up again…Beautiful colors this morning .. light playing and bouncing around the clouds.

You’ll notice, that the storm door is propped open again.. The dogs love it and I don’t have to run to the kitchen to be door person every ten minutes….I think I just might be getting lazy in my old age… shut up Marv!

Yup yup, I’ve been out on the porch already… Fed and watered the dogs and the cat. Drove down to the chickyduck pen to feed and water… Parked in front of the house this morning instead of the drive when I came back up the hill.

Let me tell ya, when I went to the mail box yesterday afternoon it was just right for setting on the tail gate… Which I did for a little while… Not a breath of air a stirring out there… Lots of clouds tho.

I saw one of my BBSBs and heard several more… I know I complain about this all the time but I can’t help it… With no winds, I can’t tell where the sounds are coming from. Sounds bounce and echo all over the place between the peaks up here. Drives me nutz. Shut up Marv! Lololol

Speaking of Marv… Gee, did I get his attention the other day or what?!? Lolol He got back at me with a double gotcha! Cracked me up. Gots the giggles just thinking about it…

Back to being outside yesterday… I decided to sit in a chair to read the mail and drink my pop. Can’t do that again for a while! I wasn’t in that chair for 5 minutes when I was ‘attacked’ by a horde of sumfin… something was chewing on my ankles and halfway up my calves. (Is that the correct plural of calf? Don’t look right)

I couldn’t see anything but man, I starting itching like crazy! Came flying in the house for the bottle of alcohol. I poured it all over my legs… itching finally stopped… chiggers maybe? It wasn’t the no-see-ums.. I can see them… I know it doesn’t make sense but it is the truth!

Well, I changed my skin yesterday while I was in the middle of everything else. Lolol I really like the denim look but, and this is a biggy, I can’t read parts of it. If I can’t read it then I am sure others cannot. Simpler this way and also gave Marv sumfin to bother me about…

LOLOL he usually complains when I change sumfin/anything but said that since he can read hieroglyphics he guessed it was ok… the change, that is… What AM I to do with him?

I gotta tell ya about the Lilah and Ophie… I forget whether I was gonna go to bed for the nite or for a nap.

[VIVA, THE WRECKING CREW & THE DISASTER]
view link

Anyway, I am drifting off.. Ophie starts growling… a higher pitched sound than normal. I open eyes… and watch while Lilah takes her life in her kitten paws, gets ready and pounces on the Ophie!

Lilah chews on Ophie’s ear… Ophie growling … Lilah rears back and attacks again… Now, this ain’t too bright of Lilah… Ophie gets upset when she is disturbed during sleep time… However, Ophie decides Lilah needs a bath.. right then! Not later, not after sleep time… right NOW!

I don’t know about them but I sure do need my sleep .. that’s what I go to bed for! Did I sleep? Nope… I got tickled and trompled at the same time. Did you ever have a time when your brain refuses to shut down?

My brain had a good time… not much sleep, but I went to sleep finally with a smile on my face. Was still there when I rolled out..

I need to make the 40 mile trip to Beattyville sometime soon… running low on a few things and I DO need to get the tail assembly fixed… gots to buy the parts for it…Butch, the good neighbor, said he would do the work for me… but only because his wife and I threatened to commit mayhem on him.

Now, Butch is built like a refrigerator or a huge oak tree trunk… the boy can take care of himself… but he DO know when to back up! Two women making threats gets his attention every time! Gotcha Butch… lolol

Now that I have that little bit of nonsense stirred up, I am outa here for the time being. Gots stuff and people to do… lololol

Take care all of mine… go in safety always. Remember to do gotcha’s on everybody! Makes ‘em real nervous… lolol

Many hugs, much love and lots of laffter… meems

April 2009...

2009/9/3 Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!

REMEMBER OUR TROOPS … WEAR RED TOMORROW

Had some problems with the puter yesterday… It froze up on me… and then the server dropped me! I finally said the heck with it and went back to bed for a nap…

I finally got back on but had to update a few things… and McAfee was doing it’s thing… Want to hear sumfin? I have a definite-maybe love/hate relationship with the puter!

Would you believe the same thing happened today… I went back to bed. When I got back up, I called the ISP. Shelley there helped me get back on line… She had the giggles by the time I hung up… Can’t imagine why…

Let me see here… Oh, I tripped over another abandoned military group on Eons.. Vintage Military Veterans… Well, I need some joiners and some ideas as to which direction to go with it. Come on guys and gals, get off your duffles and DO sumfin….

Also working on another idea for the families of all our guys and gals. Just in the planning stages tho and I have gotten the OK from Eons… I think it will be a group by itself with Eons members managing. Now I am waiting to get a response from the military… I’m trying tho…

Kathi, tell Ft. Bob to get his cute navy buns in gear… I WILL send broom and I WILL give you permission to kick him in the ankles… lololol That threat ought to impress him!

And the Marv is picking on me again… He tells me he falls into a flowering bush while he is trimming it… I suggested (read told him out right) that he was graceful… That he and I could dance the leads in Swan Lake. I would be Leadfoot and he would be Rusty Bucket…

Would you believe that he is threatening me… and I quote… “cruising for a bruising”. The boy really loves me but sometimes it’s kinda hard to tell! I am on the floor in hysterics! Would you believe I LOVE to do gotcha’s on the Marv…. Sometimes he is so easy… sets himself up, so to speak! Wait till he sees some of my responses in his group Ask Marvin… lololol

I just might be in big trouble but it is worth the giggle factor for me!

And don’t ask me how I managed to get burrs all over me but I sure did! Them little flat things… I always called them ‘stick tights’, Becky calls them ‘hitch-hikers’

Got to tell you about one time over on Cow Creek… I had been up on the hillside out back… I swear to you that I hadn’t gotten into the weeds, honest! I got on the porch and started to go inside…

looked down and was absolutely covered with them little buggers… Sheesh…Well, I knew that it would take forever to get them all off me…Hmmm….

No close neighbors… I was out back… yup yup, I did! I stripped right there and went on inside. I think I burned the clothes… they were old, beat up and paint covered… so no great loss…

Hmmm… I seem to have developed this thing about stripping since I’ve moved to the mountains or maybe it’s being close to nature or it could be all Marv’s fault… Gotcha again Brat! … Au Natural? Lolol not quite, but close enuf…Ah yes!

A heldoctor went over a couple of times today… Wonder if it is the ATF but I don’t think so… was almost over the hill by the time I got to the side door but I waved and hugged and and and just the same… Him , the heldoctor, was really putting the miles behind and in a hurry… Go in safety always mine!

It just dawned on me that them BBSBs are using me for target practice sort of. Find the little ol white haired lady running around on the mountain side with 7 dogs and a cat… Get all in view finder… get so many points for the day (?) Well, it could happen…or not! There’s one thing for sure… I am never in the same spot, at the same time on a daily basis. So that ups the odds a bit for my rotten kids up there…

Just once to ‘touch the face of God’….

Gots ta tell ya that I pigged out last nite and today… Oh, I was rooting around in the freezer.. found a package of cube steaks…hmm… lemme look in cupboard. Oh yeah… instant smashed taters…a can of shrooms… and a packet of Country Gravy mix…WOW, I am in business..

I’m a meat and tater type person… I could hear the ol arteries going snack, crapple and pock as I drug out the butter and bacon grease… salt and garlic pepper.. And did I eat too much? You betcha!

I had enuf left to warm up for breakfast… I added two slices of toast to help sop up the gravy.. Ya know, I think sometimes I CAN cook. Might not have been what the experts tell you to eat but it sure did taste good!

I should start worrying about my diet now? At 73? I don’t think so… Meems ain’t a changing at this late date… lololol Hush Boss!

Guess that had better be it for the day… Take care all of mine… go in safety always. Remember to treat/spoil yourself once in a while…it’s good for the spirit!

Many hugs, much love and loads of laffter… The always up to no good meems

2009/9/1 0642 hours Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!

Woohoooooo! Freezing my buns off… windows and doors open…It’s 52 degrees here right now…Lordy pete! How come it is that when it’s 90 one day and 52 two days later that I freeze? Am I getting old? Shut up Marv! Bite your tongue, KK and Pogo don’t you dare! Lolol

I had the best time yesterday! I had plans (that’s a lie, I NEVER plan) to do all kinds of stuff and didn’t get any of it done. Not nary a bit! Well, that’s not quite true either… I did get the bills paid. AND, I did get rid of the aquarium…finally!

Come on out here on the back porch… bring your coffee with you… sun’s just about to come up. Gonna be a purty day here in the mountains again! My fave weather!

Well, let me tell you about yesterday. Yesterday was Monday right? Today is Tuesday, I think…

Well, I didn’t expect the Weed to show up to do the grass but here he comes anyway. Weed usually comes up here on Tuesdays. Ok, so now I’m not sure what day it is.

Anyway, Weed does the job… gets finished… we sit out here on the porch for a while and discuss the state of the world. We both agree that the world and our country in particular are in a sorry state. Says he’s gonna be cutting baccer the rest of this week.

Cutting, staking and hanging baccer in the barn is really labor intensive. From start to finish, raising and harvesting baccer is labor intensive. No matter the weather or the heat, you work the fields.

Many baccer growers lost much of their crops because of the storms and heavy rains early in the season… Low lying fields flooded; the running water washed many plants away.

I’ve been documenting and photographing the work involved because I feel it is a vanishing way of life. Anna, El and the hired hands put up with me and I definitely stay out from under foot!

I saw some of my flyguys yesterday..A heldoctor buzzed the tree tops and I saw one contrail. I heard two more but the winds were still and I couldn’t find them. Go in safety mine.

Well, after the Weed left, I called Butch, the good neighbor down the road. Told him it was first come, first served time on the aquarium…a 55 gallon job with the matching base. I hear ‘I’ll be right up’! Sheesh, I didn’t expect that quick a response! Not 5 minutes and here he comes… His wife and I pick on him sumfin terrible… We ended up back here in the apartment playing with the puter…

I showed them the series of slides sent to me by a friend… the 1000 Islands area. Surprise, surprise, they know the area well.

I don’t know about them, but I got so tickled at the two of them. And like I said, she and I picked on him sumfin awful… I had a blast. Butch is one of mine.

Then as they were leaving, I noticed something hanging down under the my truck. Asked Butch what it was… he looked…reached under and pulled out my exhaust system.

Seems like somebody cut thru the pipe with a hack-saw. The nearest I can figure is that it happened about a month ago.. ‘They’ apparently were trying to get to the c converter. It’s worth $30 to $40 at the junk yard.

I called to make a report and my fave state trooper responded. Poor guy… He really tries to stay away from me…lolol He strongly suggests that Mr. A and I try to get along. Ain’t gonna happen. Mr. A went by the house last week on his ATV and bellowed at me while I was sitting on the tail gate.

What he said/yelled only proved that he is color blind and not too bright. His words said more about him than I really wanted to know… The critter is warped.

I showed the trooper the remains of the snake still wrapped around the control valves on the propane tank. Asked him to bring me another one if he finds any dead ones (snakes) on the road… Trooper nodded yes… lolol I ain’t gonna hold my breath waiting on this one either.

Worse than being my neighbor is being a cop and taking one of my reports…. Like I said, poor guy. He is one of mine also… go in safety dear heart…

We had a power outage over nite… don’t know how long it lasted… But I’ve decided I MUST do something about my sex appeal… Now the microwave is flashing me! Lolol

On that note, I am outa here…

Take care all of mine… go in safety always… Remember it’s ok to be human… Laff at yourself once in a while.

Many hugs, much love and lots of laffter… meems
