EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS

posted 1 minute ago

2009/8/7 1433 hours

I’m up, I think… Mainlining the coffee.. staring blurry eyed at a blank screen. Too hot and humid to go outside. The 6 pack + are covering the apartment in a wall to wall layout. Lilah, the troublemaker supreme, is out side somewhere creating havoc for the wildlife. Lolol and the honeysuckle is blooming and smelling so good. That’s the good news.

Now, the not so good… Kudzu… to me, this is a dirty word… not kidding here.

On the way to the store yesterday, I saw kudzu covering mile after mile of grounds, smothering trees, climbing electric poles. Worse yet, the hillside behind me is now covered. It’s not my property so there is not much I can do except try to keep it at bay.

Abandoned houses are covered in no time… and when I say miles and miles that is no over-statement… Kudzu is an environmental disaster for the mountains…The weather this year has been perfect for the rapid growth. A month ago, a house showed, the tree had its own leaves, the ground was covered with wild flowers… now it is nothing but acres of large green fast growing vines.

Let me tell you, if the army will not send its tanks and men/women into the kudzu down south, I ain’t going in either!

Now, let me see if I can write about sumfin more pleasant?

Oh yeah, the honeysuckle…It is growing on the chickyduck pen. I’m hoping that it will eventually grow to cover the whole back section of the fenced in area… the Chickies are doing well. Lay eggs… Mother henning.. and the surviving chick from the first hatching is growing like a weed… It is a little girl…gonna be a nice looking hen.

I’ve seen some Purple Martins on the electric lines out front… I sure hoping they are checking out the condos.. I have enuf stuff left to put up another one. Anna says they probably won’t nest this year but are checking out the housing for next spring.

Is it Spring yet?

Well, I’ve lost track of a whole week again… How can it be Friday already?

Let’s see here… Viva ate a green plastic bowl!?! No, I don’t know why and yes, she stole it from the kitchen counter…

I found and bought some catnip for the Lilah. She checked it out right away but I couldn’t tell any difference in her actions. How do you tell the difference between crazy and intoxicated? I must ponder on this.

Got’s to tell ya that my second anniversary on Eons is coming up. Oh dear, I was so naïve and innocent in some ways. Afraid that I would goof and apparently I did.

I joined a group which shall remain nameless. I may be scattered as hell, but I ain’t stupid!

Well, being a newbie, a newbie newbie, I made my usual off the wall comments. Updated some info that was posted and brought down the wrath of a few of the members. I was disruptive! Can you imagine? Me? Disruptive? Oh yeah! I don’t know if that group is still up and running or not.

I was discussed publicly by two of the members as if I didn’t exist. Well, if I ain’t wanted, I ain’t staying. So, I left…

I then tripped over Chit Chat Chums… Those good people took me in, made me welcome and gave me a home. Notice I am being nice here!

They’ve put up with my nonsensical ways… my jokes, my sarcasms, my gotcha’s, my terrible typos, my errors, all the human mistakes I make. Many many are now my good friends and somehow they manage to put up with me. Thank you all… I DO love you so very much… but this is the end of the nice and mushy stuff… lolol

Talked to Anna yesterday and she saw a dark gray wolf out on/near her porch the other nite. She said it was a big one. Wolf was nervous, she said… uneasy, cautious but checking things out.

When I went down to the two pumper the other day, I saw a large hawk hunting the area where a guy way bush hogging a field. Hawk was looking for mice or any small critter. The coyotes here will follow behind a guy on a tractor, doing the same thing… looking for small game.

I saw deer in some of the fields near the road and some of the biggest wild turkeys I’ve ever seen on the trip to the store.

Guess that’s it for today. Take care all of mine.. go in safety always. Remember to give thanx everyday for the good things that happen…

Many hugs and much love… meems

Yeah yeah, I know.  I’ve been awol again.  Sorry bout that!  Benadryl do make this old bod sleepy.  (Bite your tongue, Marv. Any remarks from you and I just might run the risk of the San Andreas blowing….me being on the wrong side of the fault will fall into ocean and shark might get me.  Just might be worth it)

Meems has been a bad girl again.. There is a new member in CCC by the name of  Lurkee.  I have been doing some background checking on this bird.  Found out that he is a member of the Turkee clan.  Lolol  When I find some interesting facts about Lurkee, I go out of my way to make sure I post the info in CCC.  Lurkee and I are friends tho.  Well, at least we were until he sees all the info I dug up on him and the family.  I’m sure I will find more on the Turkee’s in the upcoming days.

Oh I gotta tell ya, my secret admirer has been at it again!  Gots a package in the mail yesterday.  Brot package in, opened it up after I checked for anything suspicious.  The person, I know, loves me.  But worships me from afar…  Good idea!

Back to the package…

I opened it up and there was a tin can in it.  Ok, so I have received a tin can.  Looked like a can of cat food.  Hmmmm!  Somebody trying to influence the Lilah?

Well, I checked carefully for wires or a timer or or before picking the can up.  Checked for any air holes (another mouth to feed) nope on all of the above.  No white powder either…

I carefully pick up can, clean my glasses so I can see well enuf to read label.  Has anyone else noticed how small the print is on the newer labels?  Gee whiz… I’ve been talking about getting new glasses for 4 or 5 years now…I really must get around to it soon.

Back to the tin…I can read the name but what is that funny looking thing a picture of?  Red, curved but spickey and them white things look like teeth!  Oh Dear.. after much pondering, I decide that I have a lobster in a can!

Yup yup… a real live canned lobster…

Well now!  I can sauté it in fresh garlic butter and pig out orrrrrrrr I can make a flavorful batter and fix me some fritters… I am making myself sooooo hungry… lolol  Secret Admirer, Thank you for the gift… I will enjoy and NO Marv, you are not invited.  Lolol

I just got off the phone with the weather bureau in Jackson, KY.  Giving a report of the winds, gusting to 40mph…1/2” of rain … wind swirling up here from the north, east and south.  Ditches full but running down hill and across the road just below the house.  These storms aren’t lasting a long time but the rain is so heavy that it blocks the view of the nearest trees a 100’ from the back of the house.

The guy at the weather bureau who answered the phone used to be my neighbor in Lerose.  He is too funny…I’ll just call him Wxman… Wait till I tell him!  Lolol  Oh yeah, he knows the voice and calls me by my first name.  Oh dear, come to think of it, so do the cops… lololol  How’s that for a reputation?

Oh, here is my favorite commercial…it is terminally cute but endearing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CNO-iJ1KOw

Ain’t that cute?  I want one of dem….

Later all of mine.  Go in safety always.  Remember there is humor all around you if you will just look.

Many hugs and much love…  the on a turkee roll meems

Mornin’ everybody… come on in… have some coffee or tea or I might even have some instant hot chocolate up there in the cupboard somewhere.  Help yourself to some toast and jelly… Did you see that I found some apricot preserves?  Biscuits’ll be done in a few minutes… Have you ever had fried biscuits before?  Top and bottom crispy; inside soft and fluffy and hot, hot, hot!

Ya know, I must start reminding everybody about ‘red shirt’ day on Thursday’s.  Slug a bed me, sleeps so long that the day is half over by the time the News gets posted.  Any body out there to volunteer to remind me?  Sheesh,  my memory ain’t what it used to was!  Lolol I write notes to myself and still some days I can’t remember what the reminder is for….lolol

Or maybe it’s the company I keep…  maybe it’s all the stuff stored in the attic…Yup, that’s it… My attic is a little (read a lot) cluttered.  Things stacked and stored all higgledy piggledy.  (Now this is interesting… WORD likes higgledy but doesn’t like piggledy.  Wonder why?)  Crackin’ up already…lololol

I have a question about NASA… I read the other day that the toilet facilities on the space station were broken/not working/stopped.  My question?  Where did they find a plumber to fix/correct the problem?

Are there plumbers who make space calls?  Do they charge by the mile or the time involved or both? Does said plumber get extra hazard duty pay?  Does plumber have assistant/helper?  Do they have their own space suits and transport or is that NASA’s responsibility?  Must they bring their own food and drinks… Are there port-a-potties that can be used temporarily?  If so, who empties them? Do port-a-potties operate in a vacuum?  Are the P-A-P’s heated? Vacuum sealed? (There’s a pun for you) How do they keep the supplies in place?  Do the ‘supplies’ ever escape into space?  I can see the headlines now…Space Station Toilet papered!  Space vandals strike again! (Surely, it’s just a matter of time!)

Oh, trust me, I have a lot more questions but I think I will quit while I’m ahead.  Some days, it doesn’t take much for me to cascade!  Lolol  I’ve lost my mind again! But surely there are others out there in the world who have asked themselves the same questions.  Gotcha my fly guys and NASA too!  Be safe mine…

Anna says “they are gonna come take me a way” lolol  I am beginning to feel that she has a point.lolol   The CIA, FBI, Secret Service, Black Ops, DEA, ATF.. Notice these are all federal operations… The locals say they don’t get paid enuf to mess with me… lolol Smart men!  Poor Kelly, the sheriff…I can see him turning red in the face before I even open my mouth…

I have a little black kitty setting on my lap right now… Her is a purty girl and she wants to be fed… I best be getting busy.. Dogs are ok but the Hummers need to be fed too.

http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/583036-lilah

Lilah guards the dog food when she isn’t holding the covers down… lolol…

Later all of mine.. take care and go in safety always.  Remember to take care of yourselves; you are all you really have.

Many hugs and much love… The gonna get into trouble yet meems

2009/7/31  0511 hours

Mornin’ all… I know, I am up before breakfast.  Itching again… more rain = more ticks!  Ratz!

I was out front for a while yesterday late afternoon… still humid out there but the sun was behind some very interesting looking black clouds which were building to the west.  My daily trip to the mail box.   And I heard my BBSB’s!

Oh yeah!  I stood in the middle of the drive way… lolol… standing with arms out to the side… palms up.. (I can hear ya but cannot see you) searching the sky for mine!  Head back, doing a 360 trying to find them in the clear patches between the clouds.  I

If the ’watcher’ across the hill was out there, he must have been crackin’ up..  Whenever I would straighten up, I would stagger.  Lolol  Honest I’ve only been ‘sniffing the vanilla’ bottle not drinking from it.

Anyway, I was thrilled to see bunches of mine up there… Don’t know where they were going but I got flashed right away and I started laffing!  Just me… the dogs…and nobody else in sight.  I waved and threw kisses and hugs.  Them rotten kids had been playing tic tac toe again.  I sometimes wonder if they have any idea what a pleasure it is for me to see them up there?  To know that I envy them… not in a bad way envy…just to be able one time “to touch the face of God”  in those “hallowed halls” of light and beauty.  The quotes are from the poem High Flight…. I have a copy of it but everytime I read it I cry.

Thank you all of mine for being there.  You make my day go better.  No matter how hard the day has been, I come into the house with a smile on my face and joy in my heart.  I fly with you.

Ya know,  we do have a Coast Guard… Us middle America people tend to forget that these guys and gals are out there day after day protecting our shores.

Have any of you ever watched the military programs that feature our Coast Guard?  Their sea rescue missions?  Sheesh… I don’t think I want to be tied to a boat and it upside down in the water!  I also don’t think I want to go out the side of a CG heldoctor on a sea rescue mission and land in the water below.  Seas running high.

Now, I am not afraid of much… I am not afraid of the sea… I have seen Nor’easters in Lynn Mass when I was a child.  No, I am not afraid but I DO respect the Lady Sea!  The Lady Sea does take her dues when she will!

These men and women guard our shores from the baddies and go through some of the worst seas ever off our northwest coast… The Columbia River area. I think that’s the right one.

I lived in Spokane, Wash when I was little… Now, it is inland a ways but still, during the last world war, it was reachable from the sea and air.  Remember blankets over the windows during the blackouts?  Air raid wardens?

Our Coast Guard protected our shores during that awful time when our battleships were in the Pacific.

Today they still patrol and protect our shores.  They rescue.  They go after the baddies, the drug runners, the pirates.  Yes, we still have pirates out there!  Way to go all of mine…

DON’T FORGET TODAY IS RED SHIRT DAY IN HONOR OF ALL OUR TROOPS!

Ooopsie… just lost power and part of today’s news.  Either a vehicle hit a pole or the hillside is slumping somewhere close.  Lots of rain again.

Take care all of mine… go in safety always.  Remember to support our troops; wear red today.

Many hugs and much love, the meems

I
GIVE UP!  ALL OF TODAYS NEWS WILL BE FORWARDED FROM THE MARV.. GOTCHA BIG TIME, BRAT!  LOLOLOLOL

marvinll commented on your blog post on eons.com:

"SO FINALLY THE TRUTH Has come out, the secret to your many charms Bag Balm.......................this is funny!

I'm now going to share this with the world.
Look for a sky writer to fly over your house................OMG."

And then there is this one!

My Twitter don't Tweet
You have to be tough to get old.

Things are spiraling out of control. I think I have become lost in a world
of electronic madness.

One of my sons informed me this week that my cell phone has become obsolete and I must head down to the Cell Phone store and get a phone that is contemporary with the time.

I pointed out that the fancy Razor/Slim line phone with camera built in that he made me trade my perfectly good flip-top Motorola cell phone for two years ago still works perfectly fine. Well, except for the camera thing.
Never could figure that out... Even the few times I actually did take
pictures I couldn't figure what to do with them and gave up.

That is except when I would push the wrong button and take a video of the ceiling or my feet.

Seems the issue is that I am unable to text with the tiny little 3 character
buttons. "Hi, son," would come out looking like, "Gh Qmo." My grandkids have even spoken to me about my crazy text messages. Give me a break. What ever happened to actually talking on a phone? Isn't that what they were invented for?

They want me to get one of those phones that you can turn upside down and sideways and has a typewriter keyboard with keys about one-eighth the size of my pinky finger.

One of my four sons is a realtor whose real occupation is fly -fishing..
"Way to go, son."
Or in my text language, "Xbz um Io, rmo."

We were floating the Yakima River in his guide quality drift boat south of
Ellensburg , Washington . We were miles from anything remotely resembling civilization. Rock canyon walls were on either side of us. Bear with me as I try to explain this strange thing.

His "Blackberry" rang. It was blue and I asked him why it wasn't called a
Blueberry. He shook his head with that 'dealing with an elder despair' look I get a lot these days. It was another realtor who called to say that the sellers he represented had agreed to my son's client's changes and he had the signed documents in hand.

My son told him to FAX the papers to his office and he would get them signed and Faxed back, to close the deal that morning. A minute later the phone rang and he hit a few buttons and looked over the FAX, now on the Yakima River with us.

He then called his clients and told them he was Faxing the papers to them to sign and asked them to FAX them back to his office.. While he was waiting, he hooked into a fat rainbow and was just releasing this 22 inch beauty as his phone rang again with the signed FAX from his clients.

He called the other realtor and told him he was sending the signed papers back by FAX. The deal was closed. He smiled and just said, "You are a little behind the times, Dad." I guess I am..

I thought about the sixty million dollar a year business I ran with 1800
employees, all without a Blackberry that played music, took videos, pictures and communicated with Facebook and Twitter.

I signed up under duress for Twitter and Facebook, so my seven kids, their spouses, 13 grandkids and 2 great grand kids could communicate with me in the modern way. I figured I could handle something as simple as Twitter with only 140 characters of space.

That was before one of my grandkids hooked me up for Tweeter, Tweetree, Twhirl, Twitterfon, Tweetie and Twittererific Tweetdeck, Twitpix and something that sends every message to my cell phone and every other program within the texting world.

My phone was beeping every three minutes with the details of everything
except the bowel movements of the entire next generation. I am not ready to live like this. I keep my cell phone in the garage in my golf bag.

The kids bought me a GPS for my last birthday because they say I get lost every now and then going over to the grocery store or library. I keep that in a box under my tool bench with the Blue tooth [it's red] phone I am supposed to use when I drive. I wore it once and was standing in line at Barnes and Nobles talking to my wife as every one in the nearest 50 yards was glaring at me. Seems I have to take my hearing aid out to use it and got a little loud.

I mean the GPS looked pretty smart on my dash board, but the lady inside was the most annoying, rudest person I had run into in a long time. Every 10 minutes, she would sarcastically say, "Re-calc-ul-ating" You would think that she could be nicer. It was like she could barely tolerate me. She would let go with a deep sigh and then tell me to make a U-turn at the next light. Then when I would make a right turn instead, it was not good.

When I get really lost now, I call my wife and tell her the name of the
cross streets and while she is starting to develop the same tone as Gypsy, the GPS lady, at least she loves me.

To be perfectly frank, I am still trying to learn how to use the cordless
phones in our house. We have had them for 4 years, but I still haven't
figured out how I can lose three phones all at once and have run around
digging under chair cushions and checking bathrooms and the dirty laundry baskets when the phone rings.

The world is just getting too complex for me. They even mess me up every time I go to the grocery store. You would think they could settle on
something themselves but this sudden "Paper or Plastic?" every time I check out just knocks me for a loop.

I bought some of those cloth re-usable bags to avoid looking confused but never remember to take them in with me.

Now I toss it back to them. When they ask me, "Paper or Plastic?" I just
say, "Doesn't matter to me. I am bi-sacksual."
Then it's their turn to stare at me with a blank look.

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

You all thot I was kidding about what I go thru with the Marv.. He is a brat, a rotten kid and I love him dearly.  I get the most interesting emails from him on a daily basis.  The above items being typical examples.  Sheesh!

Then there is the Boss… I mention him quite often… he is one of mine, also a rotten brat, quick witted and can do a gotcha on me in a New York minute.  I am having the best time.  Lolol

KK is running amok right now… She ALWAYS catches me on my typos.  I don’t catch them until after I hit the enter button… The whiskers is quick to see the error of my ways.

I gotta tell you that these three have put up with me for almost two years now.  And for all the tormenting I get, I give back double… well, make that I TRY to get even… lolol

Later all … take care all of mine… go in safety always..Remember the value of your friends… They are always there for you… whether you want them or not!  Gotcha guys!

Much love and many hugs.. meems

Blackmores’ Night’S version

Well, let me see here… I gave a whole explanation yesterday on the change in my format for the news.  I go back to make a copy and the format has changed to my original style.  Gotta be smarter than the puter, Paula!  Sheesh!

Re the YouTube posted above.  I pasted it here last nite late and have no idea what it is.  Lolol  You’re on your own today, folks.  Crackin’ up!

Oh, meant to tell you all the Swallow Condo is still standing after the storm gods moved out.  One for me!

Here’s another tip from the emom… well sorta anyway..  Ya know I’ve had the itchies from all the bug bites.  Used the topical salve prescribed.  Still itched… Well, I tripped over my tin of (shut your eyes) salve that is used on cows udders.  It’s called Bag Balm.  Comes in a green tin and costs a bundle…But, on me it works .. no more infections and I don’t itch.  It has sulfa in it.  I read the instructions on occasion and crack up everytime. It says to apply after milking!  That’s as far as I intend to go on this one! Lololol  KK, Jasmin, pick yourselves up!  Some days I just can’t help myself!

OK, I have a note here that says black paint.  Have no idea what I was gonna tell you about black paint.  Lolol

Annie’s at it again… OMG! That woman finds the darnedest things to post.  She has her very own off the wall sense of humor… This morning’s cartoon cracked me up… Check her posts in WHVV… Oh dear…

Well, I am out a here for now… Take care all of mine…go in safety always.  Remember that you too will get older… have patience!  Lolol

Much love and many hugs… The addled meems

2009/7/26  1700 hours

Remind me to get up early from now on… I didn’t roll out for good until almost 1600 hours… Can you say the day is already shot.  The storm gods were out there all nite and they were really rowdy.

All I can figure is they must have been hitting the mead (booze of the gods) with a heavy hand.  Now, let me tell you, the storm gods are a little wild to begin with.  Get them tanked on honey mead and you have a wild bunch on your hands!

Anyway, the storms, lightning and thunder, kept waking me up.  I wandered out to the kitchen at/about 0400 to bring the dogs in.  They are frightened by the storms but they do get edgy.

Well all piled into the feather beds and zonked out!  Lolol  I woke up on my back, mouth dry… guess who just might snore?.. lolol and isn’t that romantic? Lololol

My left arm was pinned by a sound asleep little Pyggy dog.  Spudley was snugged up against my right side.  The Lilah was curled up under my right ear.  Lily grumbled if anybody moved.  Ophie was down by my feet with only her nose out from under the covers.  Max had made himself a nest on the floor next to the bed.  Viva was curled up under the TV and the man himself, the Newbie, was guarding the bathroom door from his favorite hall way location... The Air return to the a/c.

Am I safe, or what?  I’m never quite sure who is guarding whom overnite!  Lolol

The ticks, thank goodness, are slowing down.  Which reminds me… I read a med article the other day about Lymes Disease.  Article suggested strongly that there might be a relationship (one being mistaken for the other) for Fibromyalgia (sp).  That the Fibro sufferers might actually be afflicted with Lymes Disease… Sure wouldn’t hurt to ask or check.  There is a simple blood test to check… and Yes, I was checked.  No, I am disgustingly healthy.

You might notice that my paragraphs are a little different today.  I saw what happened to yesterdays news… no spaces between paragraphs.  If this is the case, so be it.  But, it does make a difference as to how an article is presented and how much harder it is to read… IHO.  So anyway I am using the tab button a lot more in WORD.  I guess the new way saves space or character strokes for the binary codes.

Here is a pic of the Viva  & the Spud to show how much the young lady has grown.  The Spudley is on his back so you can’t see a whole lot but it just might give you some idea of the size differences now…  lolol

http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/584975-Viva-at-7-months-with-Spudley...

http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/583702-Viva-and-Spudley

And
then there’s the Hummingbirds…Sheesh!  I NEVER need check the feeder to see if it is empty!  I can’t even go out any door… them birds find me and start dive bombing and fussing!  Feed me!  Feed me!  Feed me!  I go fix the food… start pouring it in the feeder and all the while, the adult hummers are complaining ‘hurry up’!  lolol  I have to laff cause they are too funny…So small and yet so Bossy.. and yes, they have me trained too!  Crackin’ up here.

I do have the best time… dancing with the Newbie, waving at the sounds of my flyguys, dodging Hummers, pounding on the 6 pack plus…It is wonderful to be smothered by love… I think!  Lolol

Oh yeah, I really must make a trip to town in the next few days.  The hummers are eating me out of house and home… almost out of sugar…Them critters go thru about 10 lbs of  sugar in a season.  They live in the only good sized tree I have…a 12 foot maple.  And then there’s the fabric softener… still have to get some of that… What else…  I’ve forgotten… need to make a grocery list (which I usually leave at home).

Sorry to be so late today, (Hush Marv)…Take care all of mine…go in safety always.  Remember to do your best for the critters.  The earth is theirs also.

Much love and many hugs, dear hearts…the very outnumbered meems

Well KK said sumfin nice about/to me.  Will wonders never cease?!?  She said I was getting back to my ‘normal self”.  How dast she accuse me of being normal!  It WILL NEVER happen.. Not in this lifetime anyway.  Thank you KK, I think!  Lolol

KK said this because I made a comment on the LURKEE thread in CCC!  As I had never heard of a critter called a Lurkee before, I just asked a few questions about this new (to me) critter.  All I asked, among other things, was it from outer space and was it related to a turkee?  I know quite of few of them…turkees, that is!

It’s hottern hades outside right now and there are severe thunderstorms out for Owsley County.  My lil wx alert beeper keeps going off.  I’m not even dressed yet and the beeper wants me to be checking the skies to the west?  Got up way too early then went back to bed with 5 dogs and a kitten piled on top of me.  I did manage to get some sleep after I struggled to find a spot for this old body to curl up.  The only reason I could find a spot was because the Newbie and the Viva were outside.

Any person who feels like they are in control of their animals lives in a fools paradise.  I finally must admit… they, all the critters, have me well trained.  I understand dog words very well now. I think that the Lilyputz has almost given up on my training several times.  I’ve had that little lady almost 10 years now.  She reads my body language, my moods and mostly ignores me when I get in a snit.

Let’s see here, I have all kinds of notes written here…  Hmm  TOGETHERWESERVED.COM  This is a site for all military to seek and hopefully find old friends with whom they served.  I went to check it out..  Looks good to me but as always, use caution when approaching a new site.

Another note: A friend sent me a slide show of my BBSBs……Awesome show!  I did get tickled at one shot tho…

The slide showed a herd of Heldoctors (my kids word for helicopters) moving a pack of (toy sized, by comparison) jeeps.  Jeeps were hanging from cables … one jeep to one very large bird.  Impressive to say the least but all I could see for a moment was a heldoctor floating in a sea of air with an anchor attached.  ‘Anchors’ didn’t stop them babies at all!

And then there was SkinnerJ…Skinner (group AIRBORNE VETERANS) is one of them fellers who will jump out of a perfectly good airplane! He called me maam the other day.. I wasn’t sure whether that made me feel older or younger.  Lolol  Anyway, the meems shouldn’t complain.. I am still around to aggravate my enemies.

Ok, I have 1950’s weather written down here.  What do you suppose that means?  I wrote it and I have no idea why.  I take these spells once in a while!  Lolol

Yesterday… I discovered that all my YouTube musics had disappeared from all my posts.  Well, ratz!  Disappeared from the Video section of my profile page too.  Well, double ratz!

I went back later to double check and all my YouTube’s had reappeared.  Have I mentioned I don’t understand puters?  Logic, remember?  Lolol  of which I have none to little of…

I need to share this one with you all… the song is sung by Loreena McKinnett.  With all my heart, I believe that ‘never again’ (where wolves are concerned) are the worst two words I could ever hear.

Hey, Jarheads… don’t forget to check and join Semper Fi… Get off your rumps and jump in.

The wind is picking up… The condos seem to be surviving but the winds do get a lot stronger up here on the mountainside. But so far so good!

Guess that’s it for today..Take care all of mine.. Go in safety always.. Remember to care for our world.. ‘never again’ is a very long time.

Much love and many hugs… meems

Afternoon every body… Come on out and park your buns on the back porch.  Beautiful day… In fact, it is a purfect day…Blue sky, big white puffies stitched together with contrails.  Wowser.

I’ve missed waving and flirting with my flyguys… Especially the ‘getting flashed’ part. Today would be a good day to stay outside and wave…Bugs aside, I am still unable to get out in the sun.  Well, ratz..  I have gone out late in the afternoon.  At almost sun down, I can sit out there for a while.  Don’t give up on me kids.  I do love to look up and see you doing your thing.  And I crack up when I get flashed.

I’ve been listening to multiple versions of Scarborough Fair…  Love the melody and the harmonies…especially the versions with the Canticles added by Simon and Garfunkel.  I seem to mellow out for a few… lolol  Make that very few…!

I’ve also found several versions of She Moved Through The Fair.  Another fave of mine.  I think I fall for any piece of music written in a minor key with ¾ time. I do like the newer versions of folk music by Blackmoors Night… Their version of ‘Ghost of a Rose’

Inside to Marv… Some people have no sense of humor… Change the name/face and the results are the same.  ‘Degenerates’ come in all sizes and shapes… lolol  gotcha!

I just found out that Desert Star is married to Dutchman (Semper Fi group)… Lordy pete what a pair!  I get so tickled at the two of them… Talk about your basic odd couple!  Gotcha kids.  Love ya both…

Which reminds me!  All you jarheads out there… Get off your dead rear ends and sign up on Semper Fi… Good people there… And then there’s me on there too.… Oh dear… well, go check it out anyway and give some support…

Now this may turn some of you off… a warning just in case you don’t like chicken gizzards!

I came across a package of frozens yesterday… Chicken gizzards make the best barley soup and I decided I just had to have some chicken and barley soup.  Well, ratz!  Out of Barley!  Ok… I’ll use ramie noodles with the chicken flavoring.

Yup yup… Cooked them gizzards over an hour…well, simmered anyway… Threw in some salty pepper and garlic powder.  Celery salt too.  After the gizzards were done, I threw in the ramie noodles.  Oh man… can you say pig out?  I ate gizzards and all the noodles up all gone.  Have enuf broth and meat left for another pig out today… just need to cook up another packet of the noodles.  Sheesh!  Now I am making myself hungry.  BRB.  Lolol

Well put the left overs on to warm… Oopsie here, the noodles are not called ramies; they are Ramen noodles… If I am not mistaken ‘ramie’ is some kind of fabric…lolol  and with the way I cook anymore, I probably wouldn’t notice the difference.  Now I am getting tickled at myself!

Ya know, it might be a good idea if you don’t quote me on anything… lolol

Take care all of mine… Go in safety always.  Remember if you try any of my recipes, you do so at your own risk!  Fair warning!  Lolol

Much love and many hugs dear hearts… meems

PS.. thot I’d try the Swallow Condo again.  Didn’t come thru yesterday.  Hope it’s fixed and working today.
