TOWARD A NEW DAY
Cast off and discarded, finally out of the way, remnants of the me that never more will be, fragments left behind, where they will stay, though once so very much a part of me as I embrace them all yet moving on into a future bright marching forward toward the light, head held high and clear of voice, a self finally found and rescued from the chaos that was once the darkness of night.

SPRINGTIME PARTY TIME
by Barbara
A CHERYL'S PALS COLLAB
Spring has sprung, so let's jump and shout; today's a great day to dance and play. Even leaves and flowers are smiling today; as they're having fun in so many ways. After sleeping so soundly for so many months, they've finally shed their winter white and dressing up in their springtime best. And with the music floating on balmy spring breezes let's join in the chorus the sweet songbirds sing as we dance and play 'till the midnight hour. The music is so inviting and I'm heading that way, and counting every moment for every moment counts as we party like there's no tomorrow upon silver clouds and rainbow'd paths. I see everyone's coming and it makes me so glad. So let's do it up right, in a whole-hearted way and dance and sing for all our tomorrows, as we celebrate together, come what may, the arrival of Spring, for there's Spring in the air.

GREEN HILLS OF SPRINGTIME
Rolling hills, once golden under a late August sun, this morning tranquil and serene as the fog of a coastal morning lifts, a renewed blanket of green emerging as golden slips away with the chill of winter; Spring refreshes these gentle hills, as dawn welcomes a new day.
And nestled among the valleys, boats of old rest in the morning stillness their stories untold and held captive within their weathered shells, long forgotten and abandoned and left to the tellers of tales who uncover their secrets and pass them on.
As spring is unwrapped, their stories flow and invite me in.

STEPPING BACK
Amid the chaos that I can't help but see on this early morning just before Spring, I search for a bit of clarity, something to soothe an unsettled heart and restore some peace to this world I see. And stepping back to take another look from a different angle, a new perspective there, I finally see something I hadn't seen before when I was too close to recognize what had been there all along. And in the reflection, a more clarified view, I see a bit more of the me that is me. And in the process of stepping back to gain a heightened view, now that I can see today so much better than I could before, embracing the me that was yesterday, I set about once more, seeing more clearly ahead, to create the me that I was meant to be putting behind me the yesterdays and stepping into tomorrow once again. And realizing on this early morning just before spring, that sometimes it takes stepping back and taking another look to see what had been right there all along.

FROM UNDER THE SEA
Listen, My Children, listen carefully to me, for I speak the truth here under the sea. I am very old and have weathered much and have learned what I could from those who came before, from those who have passed some of their wisdom down to me. And as I gaze at the spectacle here under the sea, this rather lifeless void I heave a sad sigh and shed a silent tear, for what I see here is so distressing to me, a wasteland so empty and devoid of life that used to be not so very long ago in the time before those above us on land forgot what damage their actions could cause and how their neglect could eventually ruin us all.

CELTIC SOUL
Melancholy moments, frayed and broken strings of a saddened heart drifting away in muted silence with the setting of the sun; the sweetest sound cradling emotions bruised under the glare of the day, shadows of evening soothing the soul, with the sunset as peace returns to a saddened soul.
Wounded heartstrings singing again with the rising of the sun and returning once more to make a sound of joy in the new music of a Celtic morning; its passion, its depth, its heart, its whimsy, its lilt, its dance make my own heart sing and bring peace to my soul.

UPON MAGICAL WINGS
Upon magical wings my dreams taking flight, soaring so high and into the night, where castles await when the time is just right and all passageways lined with silver and gold, from what I am told. And I certainly must believe it is so for I see it all right in front of me, anticipating where I will be as night begins to fall and sun bids farewell to the day, as upon magical wings I soar into the night where sweet dreams await when the time is just right.

TOWARD THE SKY
Finding myself once again, upon the edge of a word, a phrase, an idea, I try to capture them, holding them close before they slip away, floating away upon a wisp of breeze, as bubbles on a summer's day, fragile though whole, fleeting yet timeless, at once delicate and strong. And holding out my hand, one of them finds a momentary resting place, balancing there as it sparkles and shines just long enough before floating away, though not before touching my imagination, as for an instant I become one with its kaleidoscopic energy as it glistens in the sun and takes me with it once more on its journey toward the sky.

UPON A MOONBEAM
The sun, the moon, the stars above suspended within a dream of love. The magic of moonlight, healing strains of music at dawn; transforming power to the darkest soul. Finding strength from the sun and peace from the moon, taking flight with the eagles, and soaring 'till dawn's first light. Cocooned in a blanket of shimmering stars and dreaming 'till morning as I wait for the sun when birdsongs will float and sweet breezes refresh a heart that is searching for a new song to sing. And beyond the horizon new visions I see and in those magical moonbeams find power enough, my soul once more stirred, a new fabric to weave, in words that sometimes find me in the quiet of night, in a hushed and silent prayer carried on moonbeams when all seems so right and my nighttime dreams become my reality of day.
