INTO THE NIGHT -- LWHP "Koffee Klutch/Dreams"
Posted On 03/02/2011 03:42:29

INTO THE NIGHT

Embracing the dream
and fantasy's flight,
I close my eyes
and soar into the night
where love abounds
and comforts my soul,
as I dream the dreams
that are meant just for me.
And those dreams of
happiness and magical things
cradle my heart
throughout the long night.
as I follow the paths
of silver and gold
from star to star
upon moonbeams bright.
And I wonder what tomorrow
will bring as I wish upon
that very first star I saw
as the night began to unfold
with the sun setting in the west
on its path toward tomorrow
and morning's first light.
I can only imagine
what lies ahead as
I look forward to the dawn
and pray that the magic
will never end.

SPRINGTIME ANTICIPATION (in words and photos)

SPRINGTIME ANTICIPATION

Weary of winter,
my heart longs for
the daffodils of Spring
blooming in the sunshine,
their golden cups overflowing
with sweet nectar.
I look forward to
long walks through
springtime meadows
of daisies and poppies,

white and golden,
glistening in the sun
of an afternoon
which has seen
the showers of spring
bring renewed life
to sweet-fragranced gardens
which have eagerly awaited
the coming of spring
when they can once again
bloom in the sunshine
and overflow with
the sweet nectar
of spring.

BFF #88 -- DANCING ACROSS THE KEYS (Blogging For Fun)
Posted On 03/01/2011 03:21:51

This week's Blogging for Fun (BFF) Inspiration:

DANCING ACROSS THE KEYS

I stop here for a few moments
as within the music of the sea
gently rocking my soul,
cradling my emotions,
I find a bit of respite
from the frenzy of the day
as I stop and inhale
the soothing music
of the waves as they
gently polish the ragged edges
and rough spots of my heart.

And in unison with the melodies
dancing across the keys
I sing along with them,
sweet music as the sunlight
skips from wave to wave
and into my heart.
I join in their dance,
for a moment at one
with the seabirds resting there.
~~~~~~~~~~
And how fitting,
how apropos,
that on this 88th week
of BFF we are still happily
Blogging For Fun
to the tune of 88 weeks
as varied as the 88 individual keys
of this piano, whose keys
represent to me the themes
and variations on themes,
music I have looked forward
to since its inception
some 88 weeks ago.
BFF/Blogging For Fun
is truly a highlight of my week.
And thanks to Darlene and
all the BFF participants and
to all who read and comment
here for helping to make it so.
Happy 88th Week, BFF!!!
OUT OF THE FOG (in photo and words)
Posted On 02/28/2011 04:20:35
OUT OF THE FOG
Alone with the morning
and the gentle sounds
of the waves and the seabirds,
the fog enshrouded cliffs,
I ponder many things
in those few moments
as I watch the fog begin
to lift and the scene
comes into view once more.
And as the fog rolls away
its peace remains,
the solitude, the serenity
the morning comfort there,
and once more the day
comes into view
from under its blanket
of foggy mist and
my eyes and my heart
are opened again
to the wonders
temporarily obscured
from my view.
And I take a deep breath,
inhaling the view,
as the gentle waves
caress the sands
and wash over
my heart.
SPRINGTIME BEAUTIFUL (acrostic/photo) -- "Sunny Sunday"
Posted On 02/27/2011 10:03:22
SPRINGTIME BEAUTIFUL
Butterflies dancing among flowers of gold,
Each one stopping for a moment where,
Admiring the view, I stop to watch them
Under a painted springtime sky as
Taking me with them
In a breath of fresh air,
From where I am as I watch their waltzing flight,
Under Nature's spell, I find myself
Listening to the language of Beauty spoken there.
RESTORED (in photo and words)-- LWHP II "Sunny Sunday"
Posted On 02/27/2011 03:23:01
RESTORED
On days when my sunshine
seems to rise so very slowly
and a certain unease and unrest
replace the cheery rays that
so often greet my day
and make me smile,
my ears somewhat deafened
to the sweet sounds outside
my window that welcome
me to almost each and every day,
I search within and grab my pen
and whatever scrap of paper
within my reach and
I look around and can't help
but be moved by the beauty I see
as the sun begins to shine once more.
And on this crisp and cool Sunday morning
as new snow dusts the mountains
and the sun streams through
the branches of the trees just beginning
to burst with new life as Spring approaches
and the finches chatter and chirp
amongst themselves and sing their
sweet songs of morning.
And as the words begin to flow
once more and paint the blank canvas
with the vibrant colors
of the scene before me,
I'm awakened again
to the beauty I see
and a smile is restored
to my heart once again.
INTO A MIDNIGHT SKY -- "A Simple Sunday"
Posted On 02/27/2011 04:31:32
"Untitled" by Eva Anarion
INTO A MIDNIGHT SKY
From the depths of the soul
sweeping, transcending
flames into the night,
across a midnight
velvet black sky
fire all-consuming,
flames reaching high.
Swirling,
twirling,
gracefully sweeping,
dancing into the night
cadenced melodies,
midnight symphonies,
orchestrated and
calling to me,
drawing me in,
my imagination,
my heart,
my very soul within
as becoming one
with the flames before me
transfixed and mesmerized,
something so very
deep inside awakened
within these flames
reaching into a midnight sky.
TOWARD THE LIGHT (in photo and words) Sonnet's Saturday Sound
Posted On 02/26/2011 09:18:39
TOWARD THE LIGHT
On the edge of the day
as they come into view,
dark clouds encroach
upon the sun's bright light.
And I linger there briefly
mesmerized by the sight,
considering for a moment
what is buried deep inside,
within that darkest hour
and in that shadowy place
while standing upon
the edge of darkness
and within that narrow space
between the setting of the sun
and the rising of the moon.
And in a single moment
I embrace the dark
and turn my back
on those thoughts
encroaching there,
as empowered by
the light of the moon
and the stars that
begin to shine,
I dismiss them all,
my heart illuminated
once again.
And as the light
begins to shine,
I step forward
right there and then
as looking forward
toward the horizon
and into the future I see,
the hopes and dreams
within my heart
rise to the surface
and become the reality
I strive for once again.
MOTHER NATURE'S CONFUSION -- A bit of wordplay -- CPC Friday Fling
Posted On 02/26/2011 04:13:27
A fun exercise in homophones . . . . but definitely befitting our weather this weekend here in Southern California . . . .
*************
Photobucket
MOTHER NATURE'S CONFUSION
My schedule's full,
my calendar;
I'm booked to the max,
what shall I do?
And what shall I WEAR
when I go THERE?
Is it hot or is it cold?
Mother Nature's
so very confused.
WHETHER I like it or not,
I simply have no say
in what Mother Nature's
going to do today.
So I'll just WEAR what I like
WHETHER it's cold
or it's hot
no matter what
the WEATHER THERE
or what THEY'RE wearing ,
THEIR hats or THEIR shoes.
And I'll just have to hope
Mother Nature becomes
much less confused.
