A piece I actually wrote about that fiddling that I love. Thanks again, Debby!

THE SWEEETEST TUNE
It was tucked away in the corner of the closet where it had rested for so many years. But that old violin was wrapped with care with a loving touch though left alone in the corner of the closet, unplayed though never forgotten. And every once in a while she would see it there sitting in the corner of the closet where after so many years of sitting there, it began to take on a life of its own once again as she recalled that very first day she brought it home in that felt-lined case, so proud she was of what she had done.
And she would practice and practice, trying to get it just right, that sound that became so familiar to her ears. Until finally one day, she put it away, wrapped it up and put it there in the corner of the closet until there came a time when she spied it there and took it out of the case, tightened the strings and played a note or two, and remembered once more what fun it had been to play upon that old violin.
And with each note she played on that day more memories until she vowed never to put that violin away in a corner of the closet but to keep it where each day since that one she picks it up and plays a tune or two (and on most days many more).
And now every day that violin sings a melody, though not always exactly in tune, but a sweet tune nonetheless and one that she loves as it sings to her soul and comes from her heart.

SPRINGTIME'S GARDEN
As the sun begins to set on this day, a day which has brought with it warmth and smiles, leaving no doubt that spring is truly on its way, I find myself drawn once again to my garden of springtime, buds so eager to bloom, as they begin to explode in a spectacular array of colorful petals, flowers so fragrant, their aromas lingering as the sun begins to set on this day.
And I will return again tomorrow as winter continues to fade, making way for new life in my garden of springtime.

IN THE MAGICAL MIDDLE
Somewhere between the hot and the cold; somewhere between the new and the old; somewhere between the day and the night we meet in the middle, a magical flight as we travel together, my dreams and I. And together we fly, hand in hand, eye to eye, so high in the sky.
We travel to places we never can go when the sun is shining, in the middle of the day. We travel to places where the stars and the planets always put on such a spectacular celestial show. And as our magic winds down for the night, and we make a safe landing at the dawn's first light, I eagerly await our very next flight as day turns to night and everything is right.
And I wouldn't trade anything for that ride in the sky as we travel together my dreams and I.

BLUE CITY VIEWS
by Barbara K
A Cheryl's Pals Collab
As the light of day fades with the setting sun, I retrace the steps I knew so well, now distant through memory's haze, the places I've been and learned to love, cities skewed in blue hues as I rememeber now. And as the bright lights of evening shimmer across the bay I drift back to that place and time so very long ago I consider it well and embrace it within my heart, the streets of the city with their twists and turns, the bright lights, the excitement, the mystery of it all. And as I leave it behind, looking at where I've come, I know that in this life nothing will ever be the same as it was. But still this city's mine, I own the view, magical moments at every turn, a treasured part of the past I loved.

The idea here is to choose lines from a long list of lines posted each week and to add your own and create a new piece while making sure to use the required line. Actually, the very first writing that I ever did that even remotely resembled a "poem" was one of these Cheryl's Pals Collabs about three years ago now. I don't believe I've missed trying even one of them since then.
The lines I used in addition to my own:
Cities skewed in blue hues Lady "Cheryl" Death (required) ♥~Cathy~♥ It's just a part of the past Sheila A Berlier nothing will ever be the same Sheila A Berlier drifting to another place and time Lady "Cheryl" Death every where you turn Sharonlee this life will never be the same Sharonlee this cities mine... I own the view Sheila A Berlier a magical moment shared by two
Thanks always for your visits and comments!
Wishing you a peaceful weekend ahead.

ON MY WAY
Each day as I awaken and consider the day ahead, I wonder which direction I'll take and where it will lead me by the time the day ends. And I wonder if it really matters which direction I take, east or west or north or south; what difference does it really make? And I conclude, after pondering a while, that it doesn't matter at all which direction I take, north, south, east or west, as long as I get up and open the door and step outside to inhale the freshness of the morning, thankful for the day ahead.

BLOGOPHILIA 1.4/HAPPY ANNIVERSARY WEEK
ANGELS MET ALONG THE WAY Those we meet along the way, who happen by and cross our paths, sometimes planned and sometimes not, some by coincidence, some by happenstance, angels met along the way, when least expected they're right there as if they've always been, connections that can even heal, you see, to lend a hand, to smile a smile, to say a word that can change absolutely everything even in a cyberspeech kind of way as on those nights when insomnia strikes I come to this place right here on my desk and read the words of the angels there who have crossed my path in this cyber way as I read them I'm blessed by what they have to say and I can close my eyes and go to sleep once again. AT THE FIRST LIGHT OF THE DAWN
On an early September morning such a very long time ago, a young man was inspired to write some words straight from his heart as in the night a most powerful sight he had just witnessed there. And in a momentary flash, as he spied the flag still flying at first light of the dawn, he wrote the words we cherish still, the ones that live within our hearts as we proudly sing them today. And as we sing them, we stand so very tall for we know what they mean and what our flag represents, "The Star Spangled Banner" as it waves overhead. And blessed are we by those who give so much to protect and defend the liberties represented by our flag and those words so eloquently penned by young Francis Scott Key.
