Welcome home, all of mine, welcome home... Pull up a chair and make yourselves comfy... Waiting out here on the porch to see if we have any rain today... Looks like it and feels like rain but who knows if it will fall? Spud is standing on the bed; lookin out the window.. Him is a happy dog! Him got to stay inside last nite and sleep with the Mom! (I could make a comment about the male of any species here but I won't! Get me banned in Boston! lolol My bad!) lolol
Had all kinds of problems with puter yesterday... Apparently, I lost parts of McAfee, Ad-aware, my mind, my temper, my composure and various and other parts of the anatomy. Just a heads up... in case anyone tried to pm or email me, I might not have received the messages. The ones I did receive and replied to, might not have gone through! Seems like this might have been occurring for a week or more. sheesh! Soooo, if y'all would, please resend any messages that I have not answered... Means I probably didn't them... I ALWAYS answer my mail... thanx
I think puter is up and running correctly but who knows! Each day is a new adventure with the puter and not always a good one! lolol
I've also been doing some research for a friend in town... Chasing the rabbit type research... Interesting but time consuming... I moved some more furniture yesterday while I was in the studio... (Kim yelled at me Tuesday when I told her what I'd been doing! Told her ten years ago I was a difficult patient! lolol She's starting to believe me!) I worked some more on the landscape painting... More work to do after it sets up for a day or so.
Hey, this is a biggy! I tripped over a 'gossip' page for greater down town Booneville... LOLOL My, my what I have learned this past week... (and wish I hadn't) Lots of teen-agers and a whole bunch of malicious gossipers... Wowser... Kids I can understand but some of these people are obviously adults....And very angry and jealous adults at that! Such an example these adults set for our young ones... I am thoroughly disgusted!
Now... The Marv is back in action again... Oh dear! What am I gonna do with him?!? (Trust me I don't need any suggestions) He has constantly grumped and complained about my Email backgrounds and Decorations! Sheesh! Is there anything wrong with my liking of fall colors? Now I ask you? However, since my ears are about to fall off because of his grousing, I finally decided to change it...Wonder of wonders! He doesn't like my fonts either! Rolling on the floor here!
Well, not only did I have the other problems with the puter, I am also trying to change my email backgrounds... Lordy pete! I was finally so confused that my brain just shut down...(that's when I went to work on painting for a while) Can you say: sensory overload? Input overload? Overload period! lolol How bout out of control...? Marv, not me!
Back to the email... I've tried and tried to get to plain black print on white background... Gee whiz guys! this is not as easy as it sounds... Things have changed since I decided to use the fall colors... I finally managed to get the white background to return... (there ain't no defaults) Will try again today... I don't know if it is worth all this effort just to get the Marv to stop grumping... but then again, maybe it is... I must ponder on this! lololol
Let's see, what else? The Boss says that the cold weather is approaching and frost is in the air. Little Jake is misbehaving again... guess I'm gonna need to talk to the redhead (his lovely wife) Get the boy straightened out... KK is playing with her music again and pickin on me at every opportunity! Smokey is getting into trouble on a daily basis. And the Annie leaves me speechless! lolol She has achieved the impossible.. hands down! lolol Racered is, for the moment, behaving himself... lolol Gotcha all guys! lololol and a tee hee too!
I am outa here... need to feed and all that good stuff!
Lesson for the day! ALWAYS listen to the gossip! You can learn much about the teller of bad tales! The tellers tell more about themselves than they do about their victims.
Take care all of mine! Go in safety always...Have a good time today.. try not to get into too much trouble...Laff and giggle at yourself! hugs and much love... meems
I like these emoticons! lolol
2008/15/10 0836EST
Lordy pete, kids... What a way to start the day! lolol
Found a comment from Annie which explains why I am having so many puter problems (fractured Mother board, melted monitor from being exposed to the meems first thing in the morning)....Got a comment from Communitygal who suggested I belong on the cover of Cosmo? I noticed she didn't say which cover, front or back! Now kiddies, is this nice? Just because I posted a pic of myself 'before' coffee! It's all LittleEva's fault... She asked for a pic of the emom in the old gray bath robe! Me being the nice(?) person I am complied with her request. ROFLMAO! This has been more fun!
Then there is Dave48! He erased a comment I made on one of his blogs! He says it was an accident... yeah, right! To make up for this error of key tapping, he now threatens to mention me in a new blog he is writing! Title of new blog? PET PEEVES! Oh, I can't wait to read this one!
Dave was also kind enuf to put out an emergency notice, nationwide, that the emom was on the road yesterday... Now is that nice and thoughty or what? lololol Must have worked! Saw very few cars or trucks heading my way... the cars behind me? Well, at least nobody tried to pass and they stayed a looong ways back... I had the road to myself! Way to Go, Dave!
Onetoejeff is another brat...He wrote a blog entitled My Friend, The Farmer. Well, I just couldn't leave this one alone either! Apparently neither could JohnH56!
John's family comes from the Green Mountain area of Vermont. We were swapping tales about mountain living and giving the Toe a hard time! Now, would I give somebody a hard time? Me? Oh yeah! And would JohnH? Absolutely!
Anyhow John and I sparred a couple of times and I've decided that he is OK... Well, sort of... or not! Gotcha John! (I don't even know this poor guy!)
Be sure to read the Toe's blog and the comments... especially the part about hunting and my 38.... lolol
Marv must be sleeping late! I haven't heard from him today... But gee whiz, did I get grumped at last nite?... The boy loves me but he lives to torment the heck out of me! I guess, anyway... That's ok though! I torment right back. I sent him a special message with my 'before coffee' pic... All I got back was one word "AAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Is that a word? I think that's a word? Hmmmm or maybe not...Anybody want to try to translate this 'word'? lolololol
Wowser! I best be getting busy here... Fido is complaining mightily and has taught the crows to do the same! The 6 pack have been fed and watered... The mice have hit the upstairs bait already... This is a semi-good thing. I have nothing personal against mice but I don't like sharing the bath room with them in the middle of the night! The bath room floor is not a playground... at least not in my book!
Take care all of mine... go in safety always... Be nice... be kind...make somebody laff today... and for goodness sake... do not take yourself too seriously... Hugs and much love... meems

Don't know if this is gonna work or not! Gonna try it tho... Had a request for an early morning photo of me in the old gray robe... L'Eva, here you go I hope... and Donna... check this out... I'm sure this has something to do with me still being single! lolol meems http://www.eons.com/photos/photo/379679-EMOM-EARLY-IN-THE-MORNING-

Whooeeeeee! Another gorgeous day! Been out on the porch for a few... Saw patterns in the sky from my flyguys... Playing up there really early today. Come on guys, give me a break... Are we allowed to start an hour or so later? Y'all know I hate getting up before breakfast! lolol oh btw... my GPS is: Lat 37° 22' 07" Lon 83° 48' 45" Alt 927.13 +/- 6' Now, guys, write that down some where for future use!
KK wanted to know why I wanted to know my GPS... lolol How the heck should I know? My mind works in strange and mysterious ways... Oh yeah! Just ask anybody who's known me for a while. Did y'all know that I have an untamed 'Curiosity Bump' which resides in me? Dangerous thing curiosity! Sometimes! Well, most of the time! yup yup! LOLOL
I received the following from Little Jake... He's one of mine....
I HOPE THIS WILL PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE AND IN YOUR HEART. A tribute to a man who DID make a difference:
BOB HOPE...May 29, 1903 - July 27, 2003
ON TURNING 70 'You still chase women, but only downhill'. ON TURNING 80 'That's the time of your life when even your birthday suit needs pressing.' ON TURNING 90 'You know you're getting old when the candles cost more than the cake.' ON TURNING 100 ' I don't feel old. In fact I don't feel anything until noon. Then it's time for my nap.' ON GIVING UP HIS EARLY CAREER, BOXING 'I ruined my hands in the ring ... the referee kept stepping on them.' ON NEVER WINNING AN OSCAR 'Welcome to the Academy Awards or, as it's called at my home, 'Passover'.' ON GOLF 'Golf is my profession. Show business is just to pay the green fees.' ON PRESIDENTS ' I have performed for 12 presidents and entertained only six.' ON WHY HE CHOSE SHOWBIZ FOR HIS CAREER ' When I was born, the doctor said to my mother, 'Congratulations. You have an eight pound ham'.' ON RECEIVING THE CONGRESSIONAL GOLD MEDAL 'I feel very humble, but I think I have the strength of character to fight it.' ON HIS FAMILY'S EARLY POVERTY 'Four of us slept in the one bed. When it got cold, mother threw on another brother.' (I love this one) ON HIS SIX BROTHERS 'That's how I learned to dance. Waiting for the bathroom.' ON HIS EARLY FAILURES ' I would not have had anything to eat if it wasn't for the stuff the audience threw at me.' ON GOING TO HEAVEN 'I've done benefits for ALL religions. I'd hate to blow the hereafter on a technicality.'
Oh, I remember Bob Hope well. I remember all his trips in country and down range to entertain all of mine...Enjoy your rest Bob... And Wayne... thanks for sending this to me... hugs

MESSAGE FOR NEWBIE...Transmitting on the Coconut Wireless Doggie Shoutbox this p.m. to read as follows. SUNDAY..."Hey Newb...There's word on the street that you guys are having encounters with Stink Machines that go AIM...FIRE...SPRAY. Reports are popping up saying some of you are smelling like garlic-dosed pieces of burnt rubber. Those nuclear stink bomb explosions are bad dude. Meems is going to have to get a 55 gallon drum of tomato juice and gallon or two of cheap perfume if this keeps up... or you're gonna get hosed with this concoction. Chow...Barney
* 1 QT. OF 3% HYDROGEN PEROXIDE * 1/4 CUP OF BAKING SODA * 1 TEASPOON OF A LIQUID SOAP
Message for Meems How to keep skunks away...A suggestion from a helpful fellow in Texas. "Either human urine or fox urine will drive them away. Fox urine concentrate can be purchased at a good country feed store. You can get small plastic bottles with a cotton ball inside to soak and hang up wherever you don't want the skunk around. And old rancher here told us just to whizz around the area and they would get the message."
Sorry Donna... I hate to tell you this but men can "whizz" whenever and where ever they like! Women must BARE their ALL to do the same job...Conjures up a picture in my mind anyway! lolololol Can you say: Get arrested? OMG! on the floor..!
Take care all of mine! I am outta here before I get in any deeper! Get arrested for having hysterics... Laffing my buns off!
Go in safety always, dear hearts... Look forward all of mine... sumfin ridiculous is bound to happen if we wait long enuf! hugs and much love Meems

Mornin' all... Out here on the back porch... Chilly this mornin' but the sun is up and shining.. Nary a cloud... and the air is dead still... So quiet... so very quiet... even the dogs are curled up and still snoozing! Dunno what I am going to do this winter... About the dogs that is. Door is definitely gonna be closed... Ya suppose I could get a revolving door put in?
Revolving door.... Well, maybe not... My overly active brain is busy conjuring up all kinds of problems with a revolving door... Oh yeah! I can see/hear it now! Tail assembly caught in door (mine, not the 6 pack)... toes and noses ditto. Lily or the Wrecking Crew trapped between the spaces... Spud standing back and observing... Skunks aside, he is usually very cautious. China poking me with her nose... Mom, I don't like this, Mom! Mom... come with me... there's a problem... Mom, my babies are in trouble... Mom, Mom, Mom! Sheesh... Forget the revolving door! I thot that type of door would save me some work. Wrong! Bad idea. Doggie door thingy won't work either..I'd have to put a BIG one in for the Newbie... might just as well leave the back door open!
Another thing... Fido complains every time he sees or hears me! Now he has the Crows doing it! Speaking of complaints! Look what I got from the Marv yesterday... Another sheesh here! Subject: Hey
"So you are up and on line and I haven't heard from you. I don't was to appear demanding or obessive................you believe me so far? But where is my sweet good night email? Or my cheery Good Morning email? I want them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm due them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So get off the pot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And write!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
M"
LOLOLOL Trust me, notes of affection come in all forms... Gots the giggles now! The boy does enjoy making my life miserable! What more could I ask? Don't ask! On his profile page, right next to his name, in big letters, it says: Friend...I have pondered quite often on the term 'friend' with all it's meanings... lololol Again, I think I am in trouble here.
I'm outa here for now... all the critters are complaining one way or another... FEED ME! Off I go in the ratty old gray bath robe with a bucket of feed... Trust me! I am really cute first thing in the morning!
Take care all of mine... go in safety always...Prop your feet up and ponder on the wonders of our beautiful planet... take care of Her too... hugs and much love... meems...
2008/11/10 1016 EST
Decisions, decisions! Where do I start this morning! Started out worrying and fretting about the two big boys!
I roll out of bed... wander down the hall to the kitchen... By pass the coffee for the moment... Open the door for the in/out session with the 6 pack! Little ones out... only one big one came in the door... OH OH! Where's the Newbie? The Spudley? They are usually waiting on the other side of the door when I get up... Two of mine are missing....China is running back and forth... makes eye contact then heads out the door... comes back... "You coming Mom?"... I'm coming! I'm coming! Sheesh!
I run back to the apartment and grab the old gray robe... I go back outside! I whistle! I call! No dogs... I start to fret! ... Whistle some more... still no dogs! Now I am upset! Has somebody stolen my dogs?... Have they been killed? Where are my dogs... Are they caught in a trap somewhere? Oh, the mind travels to awful locations when a loved one (two legged or four legged) is not to be found. An active imagination can be a terrible thing!
Remember the old Chinese proverb... "Be careful for what you ask; the gods may grant it"? Well, here comes the Newbie around the side of the house! He is covered with mud to his belly! There must be a spot up stream (above me) that still has a wet spot! Leave it to the Newbie to find it! That leaves the Spudley! Still no Spud! Well, Ratz!!!
I come back here with a cup of coffee and sit in front of the puter... I decide I'll get dressed in a few minutes and go looking for the Spud... Where do I start? There are miles and miles of land to cover... do I start up stream or head down stream? Wonder if I can drive the creek and still make it out? Hmmm! While I am off pondering, I detect a distinct odor wafting my way... Skunk! Lo and behold, the Spud is at my feet... He's home! Skunk odor and all! He's home! All's right with my world! Whew! What a relief!
Spudley spent all day yesterday talking to the tarpins in the chickyduck pen! Wonder how the new people are gonna like that? I sat out on the porch for a while just to watch the high-jinks going on... I laffed and giggled... Spudley is a character and has a lot of determination! Oh yeah...
A light breeze had sprung up; the leaves were talking to the breezes and tumbling down the sunbeams... Did you know that leaves laff to each other in the fall? Well, they do! Just like a bunch of rowdy young'uns when school is out for the day! OMG! Look out world! Here we come! I love it!
Let's see... the Marv is still complaining about the tarpin, terrapin, turtle thing. I try so hard to be perfect and he always manages to find sumfin to fuss about! Trust me, it is simpler to be friends with my dogs! At least they have short memory functions... or not! Marv has the memory abilities of an elephant! I will never hear the end of some of this!
Then there's the Boss... I guess we have called a truce on the latest battle between the no'th and the south! At least until after the elections! lolol He asked if he should call back Grant and the troops... My response... "Well, hold 'em off for a couple of months while I paint and patch this ol barn! ... Takes a while for me to get gussied up... then send 'em on!" The Boss, him been making fun of my Suthen Belle ways! and my accent and my local word usage (colloquialisms)... gots the giggles now while I consider whether I will ever be politically correct. Nah, never gonna happen! lolol
KK has already been at it! Poor meems... everybody been pickin on me! lolol I received a notification about a new posting in the emom's thread in the Country Music Fans... view link Now this is a whole half hour of 'Grace Under Fire'! Well, this was unexpected, way too funny, and it perked me up right away... I roflmao!
I used to worry about the fate of the human race... After living all these years, observing all the events and meeting all of these wonderful and crazy people, I am now in a total panic! lololol What more can I say! lolol
Unless you count unpacking a frame as moving furniture, I lied about what I was gonna do yesterday! Oh yeah! Big time! My intentions were in the right place but the brain had sumfin else in mind totally. I put a third coat of paint on the chair seat... then went into the studio and started swinging a paint brush... One of those commissions that I really didn't want to do! I think I have about two more days of work on it... then it will set atop the TV while it dries and the brain checks it out... It's an 18 x24 of an old family homestead in the early fall... the house is gone but the land is still much loved...
Well, rather than tell another whopper, I'll just say I am outa here for now... I have no idea what I am gonna do today... lolol I guess, whatever strikes my fancy...
Oh, I almost forgot... this recent update from LJ (Wayne) Another Groaner. "Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, 'The Light at the End of the Tunnel' has been turned off.
We apologize for the inconvenience."
Thank you sweetie... every little item helps... roflmao! Ain't it the truth!
Take care all of mine... go in safety always... See if there are fairies riding the leaves in the sunbeams (guys, you too!)... Look up and enjoy the skies, the patterns of the clouds, the colors of our wonderful lands... hugs and much love... meems
2008/10/10 1022EST
Mornin' all... Welcome home dear hearts, welcome home mine....set a spell and watch the colors change as the sun comes up... Crystal clear around here and just a touch of a haze way off in the distance.... Peace and quiet for just a little while... At one with the Earth Mother... It don't get any better than this. A wonderful way to start today's new adventures....
Well, all the above sounds so good but in reality, I do have a teensy weensy problem. Da Boss man is pickin' on me! Just because I asked him why he wasn't helping me to move the furniture around! Now, I'd love to tell you what his response was but I am a lady... (well, sometimes I am a lady) lolol I'd prefer not to start another war between the North and the South! This last sentence should give you a big hint if you just think about it! lololol Look out kids! Da Boss done thrown the gauntlet! Meems has very gracefully picked it up (this is a lie! There is nothing graceful about me any more) and fully accepted the challenge (this part, however, is true!) I do love a challenge... Oh dear! gots the giggles now!
Come to think of it, the Boss man is not the only one pickin on me... Donna (Jas2maui) is also giving me a hard time...Donna is my roving reporter at large. She is based in the middle of the Pacific...on an island in the middle of the Pacific... Y'all know that Pacific means peaceful, right? However, it does not mean boring! lolol Donna sends the following:
FROM: jas2maui DATE: 10/09/2008 Coconut Wireless to Emom’s Mountain News…Newsflash on BBB (Bamboo Bulletin Board) this a.m. read as follows. THURSDAY…NEWS FLASH...NEWS FLASH...The neighbors are coming...the neighbors are coming. Local Mountain Woman, whose eccentricity is known throughout the community, may have to curtail habits witnessed only by Critter Residents. New Neighbors have been warned to look out for unusual sightings coming from LoMoWo’s property. Chanting...Watusi dancing... Strutting outside "In the Buff"...Vanilla Drinking to excess...Flailing Fly-Bys…and Shooting at Suspected Sounds in the night are only some of LoMoWo’s frequent rituals that could capture neighbor’s attention. News of neighbor’s arrival has stirred the “Questions Ponder Pot†for Meems. Will I have to cease…okay tone down…well at least scale back my propensity to propagate wackiness. Community residents think neighbors will delight in LoMoWo’s grand display of humor, kindness, generosity, and down to earth “Lovin Life†attitude. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let's see here... what else? Oh, how could I forget this? Last nite (I think I was sound asleep but don't remember for sure) I was awakened by a horrible smell coming in the east window.. I came wide awake! Trying to figure out what it was... the first thing that came to mind was a fire somewhere near. That smell gets my full, undivided and immediate attention up here... real quick! Nope... It wasn't smoke! Thank goodness Seems like the Spudley had been playing with a skunk... He, Spudley not the skunk, has a very sheepish look to him today... Apparently the Spuds doesn't care for the scent of skunk... I have such fun!
This is the first year I've been bothered by any wild critters coming this close to the house... Poor things... they are looking for water... the pond is down to nothing... (I run some water in everyday..just enuf to keep the fish alive) The creeks are bone dry... not only here but all over this part of KY. My well is still holding up... but I am extremely careful of the amount of water I use.
Someone, I've forgotten who, told me that I reminded him/her of the gal on the TV show Grace Under Fire... Well, I tripped over the show yesterday. What the heck... I can watch a few minutes of it and see what it's about. Oh dear! Looked to me like somebody had been following me with a sound recorder and a cam! I laffed till I cried! Oh yeah! I could see myself in Grace? The scary part was that I understood her... One part took place in a museum where she had taken her little girl and friends. Grace was given a time out by the guide because of her irreverent remarks. Lololol I can see that happening to me... lolol
Well kids... I have more furniture to move... All By Myself! Ahem, Boss! Couldn't resist a last gotcha Boss! Roflmao!
Take care all of mine... go in safety always... Learn to laff at yourself and you ways... Enjoy as you travel thru the days... Put a coin in someone's almost expired parking meter... Maybe they will pass it on... Hugs and much love... meems

Duh Paula! Never never sleep on your back! EVER!
I was drifting awake... snuggled in the covers... toasty warm... Half dreaming.. something must have struck me funny cause I remember saying something to somebody in the dream... then I was giggling... Hmmmm! wonder what that was about? Well, anyway... Lily and Pyggs started a mini wrestling match on my stomach... Play growling.. the whole bit!
I gots to admit I sorta got involved...lolol My hands were under the covers already! I played a little 'ghostie gotcha' myself... Can you say: bruised, abused and beaten? ME, not the dogs! Next thing is "outside, Mom, OUTSIDE! lolol Do I have a choice? I don't think so! I roll out... the Wrecking Crew plus one playing around my feet!
I trundle(that used to be sashay) out to the kitchen... prop the storm door open. Doggy pack greetings in the door way. Big dogs, little dogs greeting each other... the Mom! Oh boy! She's up! Hi, MOM!!!!! Come on out here, Mom! Looky what's going on in the world... Wake up and look!
OK! OK! OK! I stagger thru the doors... running conversation going on between the dogs and me...I don't even have coffee yet and here I am running around on the backporch barefoot wearing an old nite gown! I go lean on the railing and stare into space... I am not awake yet!
Fido sees me and starts complaining... Lordy, he is noisy! The crows start fussing and calling (she's up... watch her! She'll bring us some goodies here in a minute!) I holler a good morning to the crows...
At that instant, is sank in that I was in real trouble here! And I do mean here! I'm gonna have NEIGHBORS sometime soon! NEIGHBORS! OMG! You know what this means?!? Well RATZ!
This means that I am no longer alone... Will I need to change some of my ways? Should I get dressed before I go out the door? (I went out the back door one time starkers! I had spilled a whole lot of dirty paint thinner onto my clothes! I stripped and took them outside to air out) Should I stop talking to the crows and the critters? Must I stop firing rounds at the prowlers (two or four legged) over nite? Hmmm! Lots of things to ponder! Will their dogs and mine get along? Will the horse like me? (Oh yeah, they have a horse! And yes, the horse will like me... I know horsey ways) Their barn is gonna be very close to our property line.
Keith and Mary stopped by the other day to introduce themselves...Have a daughter, a 10 year old grandson, two dogs and the horse.. And yes, I can ride the horse! My kind of people! That kind of bribery I sure can handle. (They did ask if I minded the 'smell of horse'...Now, what do you think I said?)
They will be moving two trailers into the far field above me... Right next door to Mr. A's family land. When they are moving in, I don't know. As I've said, the horse lot and barn will be in the near field. Except for the flies, I love the idea of looking out and seeing a horse next door to me...
You can tell I've pondered on this... I could change my ways or not.... And I think NOT! Break the neighbors in early and right! lolol A whole new adventure in the works.. Wowser! They will either like me or not... Their grandson can come down here to visit or not... I will help them when I can, cover their backs and keep an eye on things for them when they are gone.
Think that's it for today... take care all of mine... go in safety always...Look for the new adventure each day.. If you look, you will find... Trust me you will... Love and many hugs to all... meems

I trip over the strangest things during my trek thru cyber space... The following just struck my fancy... "all creatures great and small"
"Penguins ride air force jet to South Atlantic
By TALES AZZONI, Associated Press Writer Tue Oct 7, 9:18 AM ET
SAO PAULO, Brazil - More than 370 penguins that mysteriously washed up on Brazil's equatorial beaches were flown south on a huge air force cargo plane and released closer to the frigid waters they call home, animal advocates said Monday. Onlookers cheered as the young Magellanic penguins were set free on a beach in southern Brazil and scampered into the ocean, the International Fund for Animal Welfare said in a statement. It called the penguin release the largest ever in South America. The penguins were among nearly 1,000 that have washed up on Brazil's northeastern coast in recent months, said group spokesman Chris Cutter. About 20 percent of the penguins died and the rest were not healthy enough send back. The penguins, which had been kept at an animal rehabilitation center in the northeastern city of Salvador, were flown on an air force C130 turboprop plane usually used for heavy military cargo to southern Brazil and set free on Saturday. Experts hope a small group of older penguins released along with the young ones will help guide them south to the Patagonia. Magellanic penguins breed in large colonies in southern Argentina and Chile and migrate north as far as southwest Brazil between March and September. Environmentalists say it is not know why the penguins were stranded so far north, but suggest they could have been carried beyond their usual range by a flow of warm water."
This was a good thing!

Well, I'm telling you yesterday was a strange day! I forgot to take the trash out for pick up. I forgot to remind the Boss ditto. I left for town... Spotted a 'tarpin' (Box turtle) in the road... Stopped picked the little girl up and put her in the back of the pickup... She had a free round trip (and I do mean round) thru Owsley County. She is now in the pen with the two little boy tarpins...Food, water, shelter and two, count them two boy friends!
Arrived at the top of the big hill going in to Booneville, coasted down the hill to the turn at the Post Office... Go into P.O.... I have a package to ship! ... No problem! Comes my turn... I give Gary the package... (Gary's the Post master) I dig into my purse looking for check book... OMG! I only have one check left. I forgot to take another book of checks with me... One check... I need gas... some groceries and a few other things. Oh me!
Well, Gary loaned me the money for the package so I would have the check to get the groceries.... This also saved me another trip to town to mail package! I wasn't even embarrassed! It is known in town that I am eccentric... I dropped off a painting at the Action Team... then went to Kim's office...
Sat and sat and sat in the waiting room! No Kim... Did get to flirt with one of the Booneville cops... Him has a new 4 month old baby girl... Her name is Davin... Anyway, after waiting for an hour and a half, I started to feel a little droopy... I went to window and made appointment for next Tuesday!
Went to the grocery store... got a bunch of stuff and I did find some moth balls... oh yeah! Checked the Dollar store and they had moth balls too! So much for the veracity at the two pumper!
As soon as I got in the house and put stuff away, I headed right back here to the apartment to write out a check for Gary! Do it now, Paula, or I will/might forget!
Well kids... I discovered I had goofed! Somehow my brain took the numbers ##95 as ##75. I had 5 more checks with me! lololol I would say I can't believe I did that but it wouldn't be true! lololol I wrote Gary a note with the check... telling him never to trust a lil old lady named Paula!
Now this one is really unbelievable! Annie posted a clip of Ray Stevens singing The Hair Cut song! I have listened to that I don't know how many times since she posted it in WHVV... lolol and I crack up everytime I hear it! The song is an extra attached to his version of Gitarzan! My cup runneth over with nonsense but ain't it fun?
Last nite, the puter decided to do some very strange things! Really strange this time! When I would hit the enter key... the screen would go black! No curser, no screen saver, no nothing! Hmmm! I rebooted ... ran two different scans... (kept running into Opera) ... Deleted, deleted, deleted and rebooted! Sheesh... Where's the vanilla bottle? KK, you got my Vanilla?.....
Later all of mine... think I will go out and listen to the rain... take my coffee, cigs, the 6 pack and do some serious rockin!... Take care... go in safety always... Take care of our Earth mother... Soar with the birds and laff with the crows... they are very wise birds... hugs and much love.... meems
