My goodness! finally... sorry about yesterday's news... explanation follows... lolol  meems

2008/6/8 1445 EST

Oh gee kids...sorry about yesterday! I had all kinds of stuff ready to go... puter was fine, I was not!

Monday I was stung by a wasp... bad reaction to sting.. Was my fault cause guard wasp was only doing his thing... anyway, I had to resort to taking benedryl... Trust me, benedryl is a last resort where I am concerned... Makes me drunk! Damned if I do, damned if I don't... Oh well, I staggered carefully around the house... tried to stay out of trouble... didn't work!

I come into the 'apartment'...sit in front of puter and my swing chair decides to release self from ceiling! I literally fall to the floor! Needless to say, this is undignified position for lil ol lady to be in... Drunk and on the floor too?!? I did an all points check on the bod... Still on the floor, mind you! Then I got tickled... Nobody is gonna believe this! Just nobody! The only good thing about this fiasco the dogs, Newbie in particular, were not in the house... Can you imagine the confusion and mayhem which would have followed had I landed on the Newbie? "Oh, Mom's got a new game!" I would have landed on a large soft cushion with BIG teeth...lolol As I was, dog was safe, I wasn't hurt but I am developing an interesting color scheme on various parts of the bod! lolol

Well Dear hearts, we now have a military bar and grill on VNV. Do check it out and sign in when you visit this week... Just so we know you have dropped by... Shopman runs a clean place, fixes good food and drinks. AND, lord help us, he has an opinion on just about everything... Congrats, Andy! Hugs to you ... Enjoy!

Monday was the day I finally was able to play in the pond for a while... It sure was hot but I had a babysitter out here for a while... Grasscutter came out to cut the grass, what else, and I redid the rocks around the water fall and watched for snakes... Didn't see a one tho... managed to climb out of pond on my own... Grasscutter made some steps last year and they work...

Oh, I have to tell you what the rotten kid, Flyinbrian, did to me last nite! He's the dj on Gold radio, btw... He dedicated 3 songs to this lil ol lady! lolol while he was on world wide radio...(there is a link on The Lighter Side of Oldies).. That's all right Brian... I have a long memory for Gotcha's and I will get even... And I was zonked out while all this was going on! I missed all the fun but lmao just hearing about it!

Anyway, Brian played... Buzz Buzz Goes The Bumblebee by the Hollywood Flames... Bumble Boogie by the Stingers and last but not least, I Got Stung by Elvis!

Well now! Brian got tickled...KK ratted me out (the wasp sting).. she tried to blackmail Brian for the songs he played... Brian didn't come across for the blackmail...KK ratted Brian out to me...The Chief got in on the act( he's the Boss man there and answered the phone, "Support hose!") So did Bud (who took his laptop and beer to the FOS) and Dixie Rose who tried to keep a low profile! lolol Is any of this making sense? lolol Trust me, my wrecking crew has nothing on this bunch!

Hey, wouldn't it be neat to have them broadcast from the Shopman's bar....

Well, puter doing strange things again... gotta go before it crashes again! hugs and love to all of mine... Meems

2008/4/8 1251 EST...

Before anything goes wrong on here again, meems is gonna do the NEWS first thing.... Trust me, the puter is the most frustrating critter I have ever dealt with and I have had some lulu's in the past!

One time I was working on a painting of an oil lantern with turnips, a still life in shades of reds (the lantern) and purples. Work did not go well... after 4 fresh starts, the loss of materials and time involved, I threw the lantern against a brick wall and it smashed into itty bitty pieces! The red lantern stayed there unmoved for years! I finally cleaned up that mess when I closed the studio in Ohio...The lantern stayed there as a visual reminder of the lessons I learned that day!

Then there was the brand new Kenmore sweeper... Plain and simple vacuum cleaner, right? Well, first...let me tell you, the house had hard wood floors...I used area rugs...and the sweeper had an easy time of it! Did sweeper appreciate this fact or the fact it had a good home? I don't think so! After a few minutes of use, hose would clog up....Dust would go flying all over the place... I would stop, take sweeper apart, clean and start all over again. Didn't matter how often I would clean hose, it would do this time after time!

Well, kids, when the emom has had it, she has HAD IT! This time I took sweeper apart, cleaned out hose, put sweeper back together... Picked up sweeper, walked to kitchen door. Opened back door and threw the sweeper as far as I could throw it... It landed in a 5' high snow drift!

Shelley comes home from school... enters thru the back door just a giggling... " Been trying to sweep, Mom?" " You want me to bring it back in?" No!

Later, the ex hubby comes in the back door chuckling..."What do you want me to do with it?" (Oh the temptations) Put it in garage, then take it back! That critter was the demon from Hades!

Yesterday, I was trying to tell you about an item I found outside the back door when I let dogs in/out! Where this item came from, I have no idea.... However, Newbie apparently was standing guard duty over said object!

Item was a white bra or bathing suit top! OK! Now I must ponder this for a while! As the nearest neighbor lives a half mile from me, where did the Newbs find this item? The possibilities are endless!

Is there a woman out there on the mountain who has lost her top? Is woman running around topless while the neighbors ponder on this vision? Does she have neighbors? Did she throw top away in a moment of mad passion? Will she now shoot herself in the ankle? (Old joke) Was top hanging from clothes line? Does she have a dog who might have taken it from clothes basket? Did top even make it to clothes line? Did she run out of clothes pins when she got to top?

Now, living umpteen miles from nowhere has its imponderables! This is one for the books tho... Will I ever find the owner of the "top"? I doubt it! And to think I was afraid that I might be bored living out here, just me and the 6 pack! LOLOL It, boredom, will never visit here! Ain't that wonderful?!?

That's almost it for the day... I have one sad thing to relate though. Marvinll lost his much loved aunt last night after a short illness. Hugs and much love to you my dearest one... I too mourn your loss...

Take care, all of mine, go in safety always....Live everyday and thank the Creator for the blessings you have... Meems

Don't know what happened kids but I lost the first edition of today's News! Puter started talking to itself and wouldn't quit! Had to go through the routine of rebooting and all that stuff! I couldn't save the info....

I think I just quit for the day! Sorry, maybe tomorrow!

Hugs and love to all of mine... meems

2008/2/8 1313 EST...

Well kids....I slept late this morning....In fact it was almost noon before I rolled out for the day! The ducks, who were complaining loudly, have been fed, ditto the hummers (I fixed their food last nite). However, I still must fill the dog food bowls... You would think they were starving to death... and as you guilty parties know, they do get fed table scraps every day!

I have decided to name the ducks Fido (silent and sneaky) and Gabby (loud and noisy). Those two were playing in the pond yesterday and I did get a couple of photos of them...I tried to sneak down to the pond and catch them unawares. Didn't work! lolol They spotted me and went high tailing it to the far end of the pond.... sprinted (?) up the side and started to preen their feathers..Just like the innocents they professed to be! lolol Well, those two were a dime short and a day late on the innocence! I did get pics of them.. I sure hope they turn out!

Well, RATZ! Between the phone, the puter and the weather up here, I am having one heck of a time getting this thing done... Hazy, hot and humid... I hear thunder rumbling and looking out the window, I see some mighty tall clouds unfolding... One anvilhead showing east of me...

I guess that I will sign up to be a Notary Public again.... Poor Jessie said she ran all over yesterday trying to find a notary... (Jessie and her hubby have a hundred acre tree farm) There are only two notaries in all of Owsley County... Anyway Jess and Gary will stop over this week and drag me to town to the county clerks office to post my bond and the clerk will swear me in again... lolol and no, I cannot go outside of the state of KY...lolol Wonder if this means I must give up my vanilla?!?! lolol

The Gotcha Gang is picking on me again... KK has posted pics of the emom comparing me (in looks and sound) to Lauren Bacall... BG says I look like Her Majesty, QE2 and sound like Lauren B, and Ksilla has decided I look like some singer! Gee whiz... I've even been asked (by ozarkreader) for an autograph! Suppose I a can make any money on these resemblences? ROFLMAO!

Oh an update on our upcoming/under construction Military bar! The new name will be 'Armed Forces Bar and Grill'. Shopman has kindly offered to open and run the place after we finish the construction work! KK is designing the logo graphics for the site... ( does she have a choice?) lolol All active and retired military, friends and family are invited... Shopman really is a good cook and he does keep a stock of fine vanilla for the emom. Prices are right too...lolol

Guess that's it for now.... Take care all of mine, go in safety always... Go out today... see the humor in the world around you... laff, love, and be happy... love and hugs... meems

2008/1/8 1308 EST

Gee kids... I'm up... awake...alert...well, sort of...

The humidity is 98% and meems is staying inside today! I cancelled the yard sailing today because of the humids... Breathing problems don'tcha know? Lolol there are some downsides to getting older...lolol Not many mind you but a few!

I was so looking forward to tormenting Gary today! Gary looks like the old timed mountain man, beard and all and he is too funny but he is a sweetie... Jessie and I gang up on him all the time and any body who can put up with Jessie and I at the same time has got to be a saint ... his halo is rusty tho! And he is rotten to the core.... now I have the giggles...

Well now... let me tell you about the ducks... of which I have two.

At least one is a female who lays lovely white eggs! Which duck is the female I have no idea! So don't ask...I am planning on putting a splotch of paint on somebody's tail assembly when I figure out which one is the female... lolol They are over a year old now and so funny to watch...Did you know there is something strange about a duck's construction that I find fascinating?

Ducks are not made to walk. Oh, they waddle but they do not walk! Their legs set too far back or their tail assembly is too far forward. I have no idea how they manage to keep from falling on their beaks as they trundle along but they seem to manage very well. Oh yes, even when climbing the slope to be fed... It's only taken them two months to learn to come to the back porch for their feed. KK suggested remedial training when I mentioned they were slow to catch on to something.

Yesterday, I learned they had finally discovered the pond! I saw these two white things near the waterfall... aha! the ducks.
I ran for the camera... two shots left on film... (yup, an old fashioned 35 mm) Well shoot! By the time I got back out on the porch, those two had high tailed it out of the water, up the bank of the pond and were now heading over the drop off in the back of the house... Just like two school kids who had been caught with their hands in the forbidden cookie jar. Even tho ducks weren't made to walk, these two sure can run...

I returned self and camera to house... giggling all the way. Are there no normal critters in this world? I guess I wouldn't know what 'normal' is anyway and just think how boring my life would be.

Oh, we have a new business that has opened in VNV... Shopman has opened the Aviator Club Bar! A new hang out for my guys and gals, their families and friends... The Shopman is a good cook and makes excellent coffee...Give him a try!

Well, I am out of here... Marv, I am sure is throwing a fit by now... and just waiting to do a gotcha! on me...

Later all of mine... take care...go in safety always. Love, live life to the full, and always be kind to one another... love and hugs meems

2008/31/7 0826 EST

Well, git in here! Leave your rain gear out on the porch to drip... Hot and humid out there and just plain miserable... Did you hear that Owsley County has flash flood warnings for all the lowlands? Oh yeah, why not! We were in a drought for a while and now we have turned into your basic rain forest. Cloud deck is somewhere below my altitude, visibility is zilch and humidity is 98%!

I'm telling ya I am paying for all the sins of my reckless and ill spent youth (I love that quote) lolol I spent all day Wednesday trying to get back to Eons! I fussed, cussed, ranted, raved, threw a hissy fit, lost temper, mind, patience and a few assorted body parts! Can you say: Bald? I tore hair out, yelled at dogs, ran between the rain drops and litning bolts! Oh yeah! Had 3 or 4 bad storms come rumbling thru. Had to shut puter down in the middle of everything else! Where's the vanilla bottle?!? lolol

On Tuesday evening, I tuned into Gold Radio, entered their chat room (the Lobby) Couldn't get the music... had to phone the Chief (the Boss) and he walked me through the process of getting to the right frequency. Well, when I called the help number, Chief answered the phone with "Support Hose" Well, I cracked up... I howled, screamed, whooped and hollered, turned blue, fell out of chair....all I could hear between the bouts of hysterical laffter was 'breathe.... breathe...breathe' which only made me laff all the harder... Does that guy know me or what?

And then, there's DJ FlyinBrian to contend with... The boy loves me! What can I say? Or maybe, he just loves to torment me! lolol He dedicated three songs to the emom the other nite! One of which was 'Poison Ivy'! Another was 'I Got Tore Up' a reference to my reaction to the Chief's phone response... Now, as I tell you of these interesting events, you must remember this radio program goes out world wide. I asked KK 'why me?' All I got from her was 'look in the mirror!' That was a lot of help! lolol love you guys...

Let me see, ah.... oh yes... the marv was at doctor's office (dressed in hosp gown for acupuncture treatment) when a 5.8 mag earthquake struck. Epicenter was about 60 miles from Marv's location... Marv decided not to flee the building! lolol sorry honey for the laffing but the thought of you fleeing to the streets in a hospital gown and nothing else conjures up a real picture in my mind! ROFLMBO!

Guess I'd better get going before I falld off the map again...lolol

Take care all of mine, go in safety always, Laff, love, giggle at life's silliness, have the time of your life... today is a new adventure! love and hugs... meems

ps.  i lost my browser yesterday.. couldn't get onto Boomers... Lordy, what a rotten two days... lolol hugs all... meems

2008/29/7 0834 EST

Mornin' everybody! Come on in here... and help selves to the coffee, tea, donuts and whatever else might be on the table! Just don't feed the dogs and no food fights behind my back either! lolol

Newbie, now darnit! Quit! He's drooling on the keyboard again and trying to crawl into my lap! He's up to no good...Has a grin smeared all over the face and eyes are a twinkling... I just might be in trouble here!

Did I tell you about the new coffee maker? Oh gee, I think I really need a keeper... lollol About a month ago, the old coffee maker finally gave up...Newbie! daggone it! QUIT! Anyway, I bought a new one... Works great... no problems... fresh brewed coffee at my fingertips until the other day!

Ah yes... Good ole Murphy showed up to visit... you know, the guy who 'fixes' things by throwing an invisible and unexpected monkey wrench at it. lolol

OK! I roll out, head for kitchen... still not awake... do the makings for the coffee... close lid... slide pot under filter basket... walk off with hot leftover coffee in hand... Come back to the 'apartment' and stare at puter for a while... Coffee in cup half gone now and cold! I practice my broken field running over and around the 6 pack and head for the kitchen...I arrive in kitchen to find an awful mess... Coffee pot half full and floor is covered with the rest!

Well, ratz! I had not placed the pot in the correct position to open valve ( which I didn't know the maker had to begin with!) The valve stayed closed... filter basket had filled and overflowed onto counter, under the rim of the sink and eventually the coffee had found it's way to the floor... I just stood there for a few minutes while the vision of the disaster sank in... Hmmm! I think a few cuss words passed through the brain. Oh well, it could have been worse, it could have been a gallon of milk...

Yesterday, I had to make an emergency trip to the doctor's office... Another, well Ratz! I found this year that I am allergic to tick bites... and guess who got bitten many a time this year? and guess who finally broke out in hives... and guess who itched and scratched like crazy? lolol and guess who developed a secondary problem from the hives? Oh yeah! So anyway, I called and managed to get appointment at Kim's office.. I go in to office and find a whole new crew of workers... Ok, no problem...

Anyway I get script, get thrown out the door... go to pharmacy to pick up new Rx... Oh goody, printed on side of bottle... large letters... may cause dizziness... Now that's all I need! Something else to disturb my balance... lolol Shut up, KK... lolol

I had intentions of going yard sailing this week end! Jessie, another friend down here, was going to do the driving... Told her that with the new meds, I might not be able to go... She, of course, replied in a most sympathetic manner... and I quote... "That's ok, I have a long leash..." lolol I guess she feels that if I am at other end of leash, I won't get lost or wander away... My friends do have faith in my abilities... got the giggles now!

Another thing... When I got into truck yesterday, I found the tape had been removed from the player. I never remove the tape from the player... It is a home made copy of some of my fave songs. Wonder who might have been in my truck?

While I was in town, I stopped at the grocery store to pick up the few things I forgot the other day... I am finally in the check out lane... a clerk asked what kink of vehicle I had... Somebody had backed into a gray pick up... dented the tail gate and left the scene... Oh yeah! My poor old truck now has a big dent and scrape! A hit skip! All the people at the store know who he is... but the worst part for me was not the dent but the fact he set such a bad example for the little girls he had with him.

Have I mentioned the fact each day is a new adventure? Seems I may have said sumfin like that before! lolol

Later all of mine, I think I will hit the feathers for a while...

Take care, go in safety always... Have a good time with life and do try to run between the rain drops! lolol hugs and much love... Meems...

2008/27/7 1412 EST

Sheesh guys, I slept really late today and was told when I got up that I have disappeared from the Eons roster... lolol Well, the last time I checked I was still here, alive and kicking...but not necessarily awake! lolol Did I have a choice in sleeping longer? I don't think so! The Doggy 6 pack decided it was time for me to roll out, hit the deck running to open the back door! lolol Dogs in/dogs out...more dogs in! Wall to wall dogs! Where did I go wrong? lolol

Well, I've done it again! A duh moment which went right over my head! I mentioned to a few of my friends that Anna and El had dropped off some old and used hay...I have a mulch bed started out back near the drop off... I was questioned about the 'used' hay... lolol the questions went right over my head! To me, 'used' hay was the hay used for the goats bedding... Friends had something else entirely in mind when they asked. Got the giggles now! Oh my!

Please don't ask about the old lady who shot herself in the knee... another one (a joke) that went over my head a while back! KK reminds me of it all the time... some friend! lolol

I am out of here for now... trying to catch up on everything... Take care all of mine... go in safety always... live, love, laff and always remember to be kind to one another... hugs and much love... the meems

2008/26/7 1248 EST...

Hey everybody. Welcome home all of mine.. come on in... sit! Relax, be at ease and don't feed the dogs from the table... They are untrainable food beggars! Don't they look like they are starving? Oh yeah, nothing but skin and bones overlaid with blobs of fat and muscle! Poor little critters... nobody loves em... at least, that's what their eyes and body language says... The whole 6 pack is just one ultimate group of con artists...

I never have told y'all how I ended up with the Spudley dog. Spud is part pit bull, part beagle, part basset and part traveling man! His fur is white and has splotches of black ink splattered all over! He has a sense of humor... Oh yeah! The Spud is gentle and loving. He is protective of the chilluns... and he loves the emom!

The Spudley actually started out across the road from me... People who did live there rented the place for next to nothing ... Where Spud's original home was, I have no idea. All I do know for sure is the neighbors and the small children there abused him... he was starving and I started feeding him.

The people were evicted... they abandoned the Spud and he became mine... On the advice of the County Prosecutor, I have kept records of all my expenses and the food etc that I have bought for him...They cannot have him back now... He is mine!

Now, the Spudley has lovely black eyes but him is a most serious little dog... all 35 pounds of him... He will cover dive with me, puts his nose under my ear and goes sound to sleep... Him snores too! Very soft quiet little snores... so peaceful sounding... All is right with his world! and mine too for that matter!

Right now, he is flopped on his back.. on the bed.. out like a light... My guard dog on duty! lolol Well, that's ok... He guards me at nite and I watch over him during the day...

I must welcome Softy (softball53girl) and the Shopman to VNV and WHVV... Welcome home dear hearts, welcome home. Join in and be at ease... hugs to you both!

If y'all remember, I wrote about my home made feather bed and the flannel night gown fiasco. lololol Well, I heard from the bed-maker (his initials are JCC) and he was tickled about the story... and then I heard from another friend... who shall remain nameless... who responded with just two words... 'sleep naked'... well, I cracked up, fell on the floor, cried, whooped and hollered until I couldn't breathe! Very practical solution! I can handle that with no trouble at all! lolol I have the neatest friends... I love them, every one!

I seem to be the type of person that others like or hate... No middle ground at all! I am sure I shock some with my humor and the stories I tell. I make no apologies for being a little rough around the edges... I can write in a politically correct manner, be grammatically correct and all them good things! However, I am naturally a little scattered (a little?) shut up Marv and KK and jas2! I choose to speak and write in a more homey manner and still be able to get the message across. The dogs understand me and don't seem to mind or pay any attention ... unless I use the magic word "GUN!" in just that tone...

A reminder: If you need/want to have one of your posts removed, for whatever reason, just notify your mods or manager. There is no problem removing an item... just takes a few seconds. So, feel free to ask...

Somebody out there in cyber space must love me though... for the past week or so, I have received a rose or roses daily from someone who never leaves/gives a name. They are beautiful roses with a wonderful aroma... Who ever you are, I thank you and send you many hugs and much love.

Guess that's it for the time being... take care all of mine...go in safety always... live, love, laff and always, always stop to admire and smell the roses... hugs and much love... meems...
