2008/07/06 0930 HRS...

Well kids, looks like it's gonna be another miserable hot day here in the mountains...Cicadas (jar-flies, seventeen year locusts) are singing all around this area... Noise is deafening during the day... How long does this cycle last anyway? Looks like I'm gonna be hitting the Google machine and the books today to find out! Too hot to do anything outside, for sure!

Oh here's a good one... The Boss man is babysitting this weekend with the little Boss man... There is nothing cuter nor sweeter than to watch a full grown man being led around a by little one! I smile just to think about it! I would say that the little Boss rules the roost when he visits... lolol

KK is staying in today also and the Marv is throwing his usual grumpy fit! He, at least, has half way decent weather in which to throw it.

Absolutely nothing going on around here...boring, boring, boring! No homicides, no gossip, no nothing.. even Mr A has quieted down...What is the world coming to?

I started to say that even the Newbie is wiped out by the heat and is behaving... Wrong! He just jumped up on the bed and started rearranging the covers... making his own mountain again. He received another fan letter from
Maui..but I can't get the darned thing to copy and paste this time...Well, I'll keep trying...

2008/06/06 0830 HRS ....

Best stay inside today for breakfast...It is hot and steamy out there all ready. Supposed to be in the 90's today.

Update for all Newbie fan club members...I FINALLY got pics of the boy on guard duty! lolol Be a while tho before I get the film to town. A first! He finally managed to get on my bed without being chased off by the Spudley...lololol and NO, I wasn't in the bed at the time, thank goodness! However, I still think I should just throw the blankets and sheets on the floor! After Newbie finished rearranging the linens to his satisfaction, I had nothing but a tangled pile of covers, pillows and sheets in the middle of my sleep territory! Maybe I should opt for camping gear...My life would be a lot simpler.

OK! OK! Sheesh! Marvin is being a grump again today! Just because I stirred sumfin up between him and the KK!
I am now being accused of being an instigator by both parties...! Now, would this sweet (batting eyelashes here) lil ol mountain woman do something like that? Now, I ask you, would I?... OH YEAH! And having a blast doing it! LOLOL

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Get in here, help yourselves to the food and coffee... Might want to set on the porch for a while before it gets too hot out there...Any serious power outages around here or slides?
All the roads are clear? Well, that's good... What about the trees? Gee, that's wonderful. We'se in good shape then!

See out there by the waterfall... those tall plants, white flowers... Them's called Fox Gloves (Digitalis plants) and they are an old time medicine plant for the heart... I measured them yesterday and they are just over 5 feet tall! There's yellow daisies blooming with them and wild tiger lilies...There's a young red bud growing with them... it's growing well too...

Black raspberries are blooming like crazy and with the honeysuckle blossoms, it smells yummy out there right now. Rain may have been bad in some ways but the plants are lovin' it!

I went out yesterday late just to set a spell by the waterfall. On a clear day, I can see miles to the east; I watch the clouds forming patterns on the fields below. Hear the wind whispering in the trees around me... Hear the birds calling. Time passes quickly and quietly. It is my time though, and I can do what I will with it. A whole world can be built in a few seconds when the mind is at peace.

I don't know if I have mentioned before that I have some really strange friends. Trust me, I do and weird just might be a better term to describe them...Let me get into a ounce of trouble and the news travels world wide in no time. The following news article came in over the wireless late last nite...

Coconut Wireless to Emom’s Mountain News…Newsflash on BBB (Bamboo Bulletin Board) this a.m. read as follows. MONDAY...Local Mountain Woman captured while doing the "Watusi" in front yard...had to be subdued before being carted off to City Hall for questioning. Upon her release...due to annoying raunchy (well sort of) raucous behavior…she is quoted as saying "I was only doing the Watusi and screaming my fool head off to ward off the Storm Gods who were up to no good again."

P.S. BBB operator has to take a nap…It has been a busy morning.

Dogs held a 'sing song' in the kitchen last nite! Have no idea what set them off...(I never ask why, that way lies madness!) lolol Newbie sings a beautiful tenor and Big Red has a lovely alto. Lilyputz has a wonder range and full vocal control. Thank goodness, they were in the kitchen and I was back here! At full voice, the Clan can be deafening. Ah well, just part of the fun!

Here's one for you! The  Bear has a birthday today... tried to sneak it past us and boy, did he not succeed! Just found out about it this morning! Ladies and gents! Go get him!

Storms and lightning...0709 hrs... shutting down....

2008/02/06 1320 HRS...

Lawsey me! I think I am going to start my very own rebellion...I can see the headlines now! MEAN LIL OL' MOUNTAIN WOMAN TAKES ON USG, USDA, IRS, S. S., banks, insurance companies and computers in general! Suppose I'll get arrested? If so, when? Arrested, I'll have room, board, meals and meds provided and I won't have to worry about Mr. A who has been prowling again after dark.

Anna tells me that any day now she expects to see me being hauled off by the FBI, OSS, Black OPS, the ATF, Secret Service, State, County and Booneville Police. LOLOL And not necessarily in that order...Problem is, they won't keep me very long...I am too disruptive! Where have I heard that before!

Storm gods came out to play with a vengeance last nite! Clouds were so thick and black I don't know how they could see what they were doing! I called the Nat'l Weather Service to let them know what I was seeing...A large circular cloud pattern forming to the the west of my GPS...Mammatus clouds in rafts and patches...I have no anamometer here so I wasn't able to give wind speeds. Finally, the rain danced a circle around the house.. Was so neat to watch before the rain fell.

Called Anna this morning and talked to her g'son..some of the bakker plants needed to be reset. Storm washed out a section of the field. Farming ain't easy, kids...

A note of caution here! NN and the Marv finally got the KK's full and undivided attention... This is not a good thing! Meems raised the KK right and she will nail their prospective hides to the TGG trophy wall for all to see and be warned thereby! WTG, KK! Meems is cracking up again with the giffles!

How's this for a ego buster? Newbie is getting fan mail! And the Spudley is starting to get some remarks too! Do I get any sympathy? Kind, understanding remarks or comments? I don't think so! Maybe it's because my eyes are green and not big sad sorrowful brown eyes! Hmmmm... meems must ponder on this developing situation! 2008/01/06 1250 HRS...

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home...Come on in and set a spell and get cooled off! Iced tea, iced coffee, or hot...no beer left... Sorry, the Garymeister got the last one... Oh and there is some lemon ade.. Help selves...

Newbie has been a bad boy again. The boy just cannot stay out of trouble! lolol Chewed up a newpaper and the sticky tape on a package! And then there is the chicken nugget fiasco (for me) that occurred last nite...

I fixed the nuggets in the cast iron skillet...smelled so good...mouth watering...starving to death (well, hungry anyway. I top the nuggets with ranch dip...nummy nummy! All ready to take to the table...ooopsy... need ice for my diet pop...go to fridge...get ice tray out...hear strange noise in back ground...Oh gee, you know where I am going don't you?

I turned around and Newbie had gobbled them down! The visitation and interment will be at 1000 hours sharp.. tomorrow morning! Nah! I am kidding...but I must admit I seem to have the patience of a saint where that dog is concerned! Him is cute and has those big meltingly brown eyes. Him loves his mamma...I think! Con artist is more like it! got the giggles now!

Speaking of con artists, the Spudley was tormenting the little girl half of the wrecking crew this morning... I am minding my own business .. hanging on to coffee mug for dear life... semi-concious...and trying to decide whether to stay up or go cover diving. Behind me I hear growls, snapping barks and general mayhem! Turned around, pried eyes open to see what in the world was happening...fell off the chair! Cracked up...

Spud was playing gotcha with Ophie and she wasn't buying a nickels worth of it. Ophie was standing...hair bushed and really trying to tell Spud to back off. Spud would back off a few inches, wait and then poke her in the side with his nose! Ophie would spin towards him, just a throwing a fit...This went on for about ten minutes.. I ended up in tears! Trust me, Ophie has a short fuse and no patience! lolol Spud flopped down on bed, rolled over on his back and went to sleep. He sense of humor and rotteness satisfied for the time being.

Before I forget, we have some celebrities in our groups. A whole list of them showing on the Eons home page: GaryJames, dispatcherDebbie, Showman, LakeLady and Goldie. Congrats all...I am so proud of you all! Hard workers and fine people all!

Get your buns in here and dry off! Sheesh, is it pouring out there or what? Not gonna get much work done outside today! Cover diving is lookin better all the time. Dogs are all in and all over the floor and the bed! Too hot and humid outside for them! Can you say: dogs are spoiled? lololol

A heads up here... KK has written the loveliest and most complimentary blog... It has been posted in several groups so be sure to read it. (however, it is so nice that it makes meems nervous) Her is even nice to the Marv and the NN! Amazing! Her must have been in a very mellow mood... hugs dear heart.

Let's see, JR has been out already this morning to pick up the turkey callers...brought a buddy with him for me to meet... oh dear... a compliment I guess but I don't need another mouth to feed or to house train at this late date! Shame on me! Honestly tho, it would take one heck of a man to handle me! Well, let's not go there! lolol However, truth is truth! Oh yeah!

What else is going on? The Boss man is picking on me. Marv is still complaining that I neglect him.. NN is busy at work and says this is his fav time of the year. Wayne and the red head are giving me a hard time and sending me the awfullest (?) cartoons and jokes! Why me? Meems can be nice...sometimes...once in a while... hmmmm... disregard the above... 'nice' disappeared from my book years ago! Just ask the Grape and Bear and...

Guess that's it for the time being...Maybe I can work on flower painting today... it's been a while...
